Also I want to point out that there ARE some horrible women in fiction that I genuinely don't like. Like the girl from fucking Oreshura.

I will put up with a LOT but she crosses the goddamn line lmao #(granted. the show in question is just. not a good show. so that's probably a big part of it)#or perfect insider lady. (though that one is more related to her being like. SUPER 'fake deep'. they really thought they were doing #something with that one)#I also. because I hate myself. watched citrus one time. and mei (is that her name? I'm developing so much more sympathy for GRRM's habit of going off and writing prequels and smaller vignettes while he's working on TWoW. I'm sitting here trying to work on APWH and the gremlin in my brain is like 'Edmure and Roslin pov story nownownow'.

Like I get why Westeros would be like "yeah Rhaenyra isn't fourteen anymore so she's not hot" because Westerosi society sucks ass, and this is a Mushroom account so it can be taken with a grain of salt (tho not when it comes to shit he said about Aegon so shrug dot emoji) but it feels a bit like the showrunners didn't want to have a fat woman as their lead actress, as literally the main character, because Hollywood is still an insanely sexist and incredibly toxic industry that adheres to slenderness and European beauty standards as the peak everyone else needs to be held to.

I'm not the best person to speak on this subject, due to a variety of reasons, but it feels a bit Weird that Helaena and Rhaenyra are explicitly described as, at the very least, plus sized, and yet that was just completely ignored. It's minor, because honestly Emma is killing it in the role as Rhaenyra, and I think we'll see great things from Phia once they give her more to work with, but it's something I noticed when I saw the casting.

OSWC2022 - DAY TWENTY EIGHT: Incantation

Fandoms: Game of Thrones/ASOIAF Pairings: Catelyn Tully and Lysa Tully Tags: an AU where the Tully sisters encounter a witch in the woods

"Cat! Wait for me!" - the childish voice of his sister whispered in the wood, her hand quickly searching for hers. "Mind the mud puddles: Father will be displeased if you ruin your dress." - Catelyn admonished with a kind voice: she knew Father wouldn't be happy if their dress were to be ruined, but Lysa was still a child; it wasn't her fault if she couldn't be mindful of her clothes all the time, yet.

"And what do we have here? You are very far from the water, young trouts." In an instant, Catelyn shoved Lysa behind her back, eyeing warily the strange woman who appeared in the wood: she was looking at them with curiosity, her plain dress made in dark green cotton and a wooden shawl on her shoulder. She carried a basket with herbs, eggs, and small flowers. "Do not be afraid, young Tullys: I have no wish to harm you. I ask only for direction, as I am quite lost. Could you give it to me?" "Where do you need to go?" - Lysa's voice picked up before Catelyn could make the stranger go away. The older girl shushed her sister: it wasn't good that a woman appeared alone in the woods belonging to her family.

"Oh, you see, I need to go to the village's Sept: I have some ingredients for the Septas there who are treating fever in a young man. But I can't seem to recall the way out." - Catelyn vaguely remembered some complaints from her Father about an illness spreading in the fields. "You need to turn around and go straight for a mile. Then you will see the road that will take you to the nearest village." - Catelyn informed the Starnger in a cold voice - "I pray the Septas will stop the fever soon."

The woman only smiled, fixing her shawl on her shoulders. - "Thank you, my ladies, for your help. As a token of my gratitude, I will give you this:" - she raised her free hand, closing it in a fist, then lightly blowing on it. - "this world is full of dangers. For your protection, every man you will ever kiss will drop dead in a day if they mean harm to you or your dear ones."

Both Lysa and her shivered at the words: in a blink of an eye, the strange woman was gone, leaving a red flower in her stand; the sisters hurried home, vowing never to speak of this again. A month later, little Petyr Bealish was found dead in his chamber.
