You wanna know my favorite thing about being on tumblr is. Watching grown ass men in my dms act like children. Messaging me over and over being rude and demanding. Sending me derogatory words and remarks. Like I owe them a response or they own my time. i can't stop thinking about your philip short king drawing but my question is: do we know how tall //Mary// was? Because I know for a fact Philip was about 150-155cm or 4'11 - 5'0 because ive measured his armour

I am so glad I found someone who is interested about the height of Philip II of Spain ! Unfortunately her exact measurements are unknown. We know for certain that she was below the average height of an English woman for the time period as she was described as “of low rather than of middling stature, but, although short, she has not personal defect in her limbs...”.

Dr Gregori Galofré-Vilà, from the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford, in their research mentioned that the average “height of people from 1400 and 1700 were similar to those of the 20th century”. The average height for women would be around 5’2-3’.

Based on this data and the description of Mary (also her health record since she suffered from malnutrition) we can assume that she probably around the same height/slightly shorter than Philip.

My drawing was based on this portrait of them, but if it was a historical accurate Philip he would have been maybe one-two inches taller .

For those who cry WOKE

I'm seeing articles for the new Suicide Squad game and besides the actual reasons to criticize the game I am seeing the usual man children cry Woke. I'm happy for people who call media "woke" these days, because they will never be happy again.

I think to a post I saw talking about the netflix show Blue Eye Samurai and they were talking about how they were worried the whole time watching the show because they kept waiting for it to be "woke". It just gives me the insight that these people have to sit on pins and needles because they have to worry that a character will say something horrible like "Gay people are normal" or "Racism is bad" and that will somehow ruin a whole show, movie, or game for them. It's pathetic and hilarious at the same time. And look I get it, I mean I watch action movies as my comfort genre, you know how often I watch a movie with some political theme that says "Men need to be emotionless husks ready to kill" or that the government is totally on the side of the people? A lot is the answer. But I'm an adult so I can just either laugh at it or say "that's dumb" and move on. Now of course it can become ham fisted and then be an actual issue but we all know that's not what these people are pouty about. It's because a rainbow flag is in one corner of the map, or there is a 2 second gay kiss, or the character creation give you a pronoun option. They will never be happy again unless they grow up
