Post related to headcannon: Luigi refuses to eat anything even remotely related to a bean because it reminds him of his future boyfriend Prince Peasley
*Luigi chugging a bottle of Pepsi*
Mario, walking in to the kitchen: What are you drinking?
Luigi: Pepsi
Mario:….
Mario: It’s 7 in the morning
Luigi: And?
Mario, who is tired of it: Lu, just drink the coffee. Please.
Hi, everyone! This is a call for all the video game fans and foodies alike: do you like Super Paper Mario and do you like to cook? Well, have I got an idea for you --- an online cookbook providing real-life recipes for SPM’s food items!
The name’s PancakePie. I’m a big fan of the game, Super Paper Mario, and food (and video game food items!), and I’ve decided to combine those interests into creating a cookbook based on the game, inspired by the blog, @undertale-cooking
As they have done, I’d love to perhaps compile the recipes into a digital cookbook one day. But for now, I’m really excited to connect with others over a game I really love, especially related to food.
Interested? Take a look at my blog’s Submit page for more info! My Judging/Editing page also discusses my evaluation and editing process in more detail. My Ask box is also open, so feel free to send me any questions or comments about the cookbook or even just to say hello! 😊
I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!
I see your “Ovens trigger Luigi’s PTSD” and raise you “Mario can’t cook but learns to cook anyway so Luigi doesn’t have to come anywhere near a heat source to have good food, and as Luigi slowly tackles his trauma, cooking together becomes a new favorite hobby for the bros”
Ok, can we just talk about the cooking mechanic in Super Paper Mario for a minute becuase in WHAT WORLD does a game this mechanically straightforward for the most part need 96 UNIQUE RECIPES?
Just for clarity, Breath of the dang Wild has 118 unique recipes which is only a difference of 22 in a game that far exceeds it in mechanical complexity
There's two places you can cook as well, one of which you can only use one item and the other of which you can use two and sometimes you have to combine precooked items with OTHER precooked items to make even more items
Like, take the Dyllis dynamite for example. To make it, you need to buy a shroom shake, a big egg and two firebursts, one of which you need to cook at Sweet Smiles in Flipside to make a spicy soup. (Oh yeah, and the Big Egg can only be obtained from Itty Bits in Flipside so you'd better have Dottie). You then need to cross over to Flopside and visit Hot Fraun. Then, you need to cook the shroom shake and the spicy soup to get a Dyllis Meal, the Big Egg and the Fireburst to get an Egg Bomb AND THEN you need to cook together the Dyllis Meal and Egg Bomb to finally get the Dyllis Dynamite
Paper Descole back on the mind. Au where he becomes Mario’s wingman. Chaos ensues. The idea is so silly to me and it can only go so wrong and it somehow becomes a comedy skit. SOMEHOW it all works out in the end and Peach is none the wiser .
Hey, everyone! I'm really happy to share that we have our first recipe submitted to the cookbook!
@funkyradios submitted a great basic recipe for how to make a Fried Egg. There are some great suggestions for how to spice it up a bit too! Check out the recipe page here.
Wanted to try your hand at the Fried Egg recipe? Don't fret--I am open to receiving submissions for foods that already have a recipe; I don't mind showing one or two clever variations on a single food item! (A good example of this is with the Golden Flower Tea in the Undertale cookbook: https://undertale-cooking.tumblr.com/post/151321383394/undertale-cookbook-king-asgores-golden-flower).
Thank you, funkyradios, for your lovely recipe! :)
Mario's Coconut Lemon Curd
In this simple 5-ingredient recipe made in a double boiler, coconut oil gives traditional lemon curd a subtle tropical flavor.
