Can you do Miles and Gwen babysitting Mayday in Earth-1610 while Peter and MJ are on a date on Earth-616, and Jeff and Rio walk in misunderstanding the situation, thinking the 2 became teen parents?
A/N: Thanks for the request! I had so much fun with it!
Warnings: None! (except cavities because Mayday is too sweet)
Word count: 832
"Thanks for watching over her, Miles." MJ said with a calm smile. "Especially on such short notice…"
"Don’t let her stay up too late, okay? If she gets fussy at bedtime you can swing with her for a bit that usually calms her down." Peter added, face scrunched in worry as he passed May's bag onto Miles shoulder. "And don’t give her anything too sweet, the doctor told us to wait until she’s two."
The boy laughed, partially at his mentor, partially because the baby started climbing around his shoulders and pulling at his jacket strings. "Don’t worry you two! The portal is closing! Have fun!"
As the couple stepped through the portal, Miles turned around and looked down at Mayday in his arms. "You ain't gonna give me trouble are you?" He asked rhetorically as he poked at her cheek making her giggle. He climbed the window to his house, where Gwen was waiting while sat on his bed.
"Hi May Flower!" She said, completely ignoring Miles in favor of picking up May and spinning with her in a fluid motion. The baby moved her arms around, laughing like crazy.
They played around with her for a while, allowing her to swing around with her little web shooters and climb around the walls of his apartment, hopefully Miles' parents wouldn’t find any little handprints when they came back from their own date night.
Gwen especially had fun pretending to be a monster while chasing May around the ceiling, but Miles only calmed down and joined the fun after he used his own webs to make a safety net in case May fell down.
In two hours, they had managed to tire May down. She yawned and rubbed her little eyes. Gwen took this as a cue to change her and rock her on her arms until she fell asleep, while Miles cleaned the mess they had made.
Once the baby was out like a light, they sat down in the living room, her little head resting on Gwen's shoulder.
Miles took a second to appreciate the moment, briefly petting Mayday's curls before leaning back on the couch. "That was… fun." He whispered.
"Yeah…" Gwen agreed. She was looking at him, their legs touching as they sat side by side on the couch, Miles' arm was behind her on the back of the couch, it would be so easy to rest it on her shoulders and-
The small noise of keys entering the door alerted both of them, and their heads turned to face the entrance immediately, leaving them no time to react once it opened.
Jeff walked in first, turned on the lights, then looked up and saw his son, with a girl, on his couch, with a baby. He stopped on the doorway, shocked.
Rio frowned when she saw her husband stop so suddenly, she had to go around him, only to see her son, with a girl, on her couch, with a baby. Her mouth went agape as everyone in the room stared at each other, wide-eyed.
"Why is there a baby in my house?" Jeff was the first to speak, sounding both confused and incredulous.
"Miles Gonzalo Morales, that baby better not be yours!" Rio exclaimed in a hushed low voice, her motherly instincts being the only thing keeping her quiet in the presence of the sleeping baby.
"What?! No! Mom-" He said, choking down his laughter. “She’s a friend’s kid, We’re babysitting.” Miles looked over at Gwen, whose face was red from trying to hold her own laughter.
“Hi, Mr. Morales, Mrs. Morales.” She said, having finally learned the etiquette of their household.
Rio inhaled deeply out of relief. “Hello, Gwanda.” And she turned back to Miles; “When is this… friend of yours coming to get his child?”
“Uhm…” Miles said, fishing his phone out of his pocket. “Pretty soon actually.”
It took about twenty minutes for Peter to get there, and Miles and Gwen had to endure the questioning looks and awkward small talk, all the while keeping little Mayday asleep, but once Peter and MJ finally texted Miles and they left the apartment to deliver May, both him and Gwen let out a sigh of relief before looking at each other and laughing.
“Thanks again, Miles.” Peter said once his daughter was cozily wrapped in his arms.
“No problem.” He said.
“She’s the sweetest.” Gwen added with a silly smile.
Back in the apartment, Rio stared at the door with a longing look, but it was Jeff who spoke first; “Do you think we’ll have grandkids?”
“Jeff!” She exclaimed, turning to her husband and hitting him on the shoulder; “Ay, he’s too young!”
He only laughed, passing an arm over her shoulder and pressing her against him. “Of course not now, I was just thinking.” Rio sighed in defeat, laying her head on his shoulder.
“That girl is not all bad… At least we know now that they are at least a little responsible…”
Thanks for reading! I think Jeff would be the best grandpa
