Drills and Rockets - WIP

Something I’ve been tinkering with. Might add it to my Recoil and Impact series on AO3 once complete. It needs a lot of work.

Rocket POV

Rocket can’t look at them after someone finally explains what they are. He found them odd at first, in more ways than one. Quill never mentioned any other intelligent life on this planet outside of humans. Not like that mattered much, Quill isn-wasn’t exactly a reliable source when it came to Earth. Plus, Rocket doesn’t really give a shit to ask. They have work to do if they want to track Thanos down, and he’s not going to waste time questioning the origins and adventures of everyone who converges on this compound.

So he listens to the introduction with half an ear. He twitches, ear flickering at the mention of magic, but otherwise remains slumped on the ground. Magic’s not going to do any good from the way Star boy talks about the Stones. The Stones are beyond science and magic, Thor explained, they just are. Rocket’s hand folds into a fist at the thought. Nothing just is.

The room fills with more voices, the turtles going back and forth with every new one that joins before the one in purple suggests helping with ship repairs. Rocket sits up. “No,” he says. “I can handle it.” He already has to fix whatever Stark did to the thing, he doesn’t need another set of hands screwing it up.

“Do not worry,” Thor says, but it’s lifeless. “Donatello has a singular mind. Some of his inventions even manage to surprise me.”

“Right,” Rocket snorts. This coming from the guy whose planet refers to all tech as magic. Referred. Rocket looks away from the Asgardian. He forgets sometimes that Thano’s cruelty was long in motion for Thor before they got involved.

The other non-human moves on hooved feet to collapse in an open chair. “The Asgardian is right. Donatello has a natural intuition when it comes to technology. A quality even I had not anticipated from the mutation.”

Rocket turns.

The one in blue offers a small smile. “I thought there wasn’t any real intention behind our mutation. You know, besides making us great warriors.”

“True,” the other sighs. “But I could’ve done more if L-,” he stops. “It doesn’t matter. Donatello is far more intelligent than any human on this planet. He can help you get that ship in the air faster than-”

The other stops, his voice stalling, and the rest of the room follows suit. The silence last for a beat, maybe two before Nebula steps forward. “Put the gun down, Rocket.”

I remembered that batman had a crossover with them before, so they absolutely can exist in a DC universe, and I'm really excited to see the new movie so I'm hyper about it right now!

Mutants and magic bb ✨️ It wouldn't be much of a stretch for ooze/whatever it's called, to make it's way to Fawcett City via the foot clan, or maybe the Shredder or the Krang decides to team up with Dr. Sivana or the Monster Society of Evil for an evil plan. I think the Monster Society of Evil would be a good option to go with storywise, and a chance to see them in action more to be taken seriously.

Aaaa, Billy sharing and eating a pizza with teenagers he can look up to as role models :D

No I love it!

Like Billy is exactly the type of hero that would get pulled into the TMNT shenanigans and just roll with it. Other people might stop to question why there are giant talking turtles trained in martial arts living in the sewers, but not Billy. It may be a little weird, but he has Tawky Tawny as one of his best friends, he's not gonna question it.

And I totally agree that the Monster Society of Evil teaming up with the Foot Clan would be the way to go! Lots of potential for action!

But also that image of him hanging out with the turtles and eating pizza with them, thinking they are so cool is just adorable. They probably find out he's a kid and are stoked!

Why make a Spidersona when I can just put any other character in the costume! I guess that this counts as a double mutation?

Bijutsu Spider r just Spider Mikey for friends, is a teen vigilant that only works at night and strangely by day. Cops will see him graffiti in desolate parts of New York, and taking out bad guys with his web magic?

No one knows that he is a mutant, they think that everything is part of the costume 😅

Earth ????-Rise is a universe that could be confused with the original Rise universe, except, that in this earth exist the Meta-humans like the Yokai and mutants. Draxum and Big Mama take advantage of this in any necessary way.

And by that I mean Draxum experimenting with spiders x mutagen, just that the spiders keep their normal insect appearance with minimal changes in color which makes Drazum more intriguing.

The day the Turtles + April break into Draxum's hideout some spiders with the Yokai mosquitos escape but the mutant spiders go to the Hidden City just in Big Mama Hotel...

There Mikey is bitten by accident when he and his brothers were trying to escape Big Mama. Mikey thought that it was just a normal spider as they were all too focused on the mosquitos to think that Draxum had experimented on other animals.

Eventually, Mikey would go through a few changes for then get his Spiderman powers. Some of these were getting his Spider-sense first, the spots on his body and shell, and being able to climb walls like spiders.

I love that you did the meme with Tony Stark and rise Donatello. Those two are in my top ten dynamics that don't exist. They really need a TV show together.

Thank you! I had to pair my last hyperfixation with my current one. Before I was consuming turtle content, marvel and specifically Tony Stark was my roman empire. It's kind of a mystery to me that there isn't that much Tony and Donnie fanart or fanfics. Maybe the rise fandom just doesn't overlap with the MCU? I would give ANYTHING for avengers 2012 era/rise content. But alas, it feels like one of those things that I gotta do myself if I want to see it.

Uggh there's so much potential and if I wasn't working on five different things, I'd explore it more.

Recoil one-shot sneak peeks!

I promise you guys I’m still writing these 😭😭 They’re just slow going lol.

The Tortoise and the Arachnid (spider man x rottmnt) - Small sneak

“Whoa,” Peter says because that’s all he can say. The tank is huge. It takes up the entire space of the alley, and he’s sure most of the streets as well. “There’s no way this is street legal.”

“It’s not,” Leo grins, “but we haven’t met a cop we can’t outrun!”

“Or a ticket Donnie can’t pay,” Mikey adds. The smaller turtle pulls the ramp down and his jaw continues to drop as the interior opens up. It’s amazing, like a communication center from those really old movies. “I wonder if Mr. Stark will give me a car like this.”

“Mister Stark?” Leo scoffs, “the ego on this guy! Stark didn’t give us this car. Donnie built it.”

Meeting of Magic (Dr. Strange x rottmnt) - medium sneak next to post after TTatA ⬆️

The title Sorcerer Supreme is a heavy and new title to get used to. He nearly suffocated under the weight at first. There was so much work to do after the Sanctums fell, grueling magic draining work that last weeks. Only after they rebuilt what Kacilius destroyed does Stephen feel like he can breathe again. He remembers falling into bed that night, glad for the upcoming days of respite. He just didn’t anticipate those days turning into months. A lot of his life seemed to reset to a dizzying degree during this ‘vacation’. The resources offered to a Sorcerer Supreme mean that he wants for nothing. It’s almost like he’s back in the penthouse, rich beyond belief and still alone.

And incredibly bored.

The new job doesn’t come with as much work as he expected either. He hasn’t been called to any other situations since Dormamu’s temporary defeat. Sure, there was a ceremony after the cleanup. A huge ceremony that cemented his position and introduced him to the new heads of the other Sanctums. It was very over the top and the celebration lasted days, but Stephen expected…more. More fights. More magic. Just…something other than sitting around this museum and waiting for things to happen.

“Are you ready?”

He doesn’t look up from his book. “Ready for what?”

Wong steps fully into the room with a sigh. “We have a meeting in the Hidden City remember.”

Stephen looks up. “Wait, you were serious?” He does a double take at Wong's outfit and sits up. The man’s dressed in his best robes. Something Stephen hasn’t seen since his party.

“Yes,” Wong answers. “So get ready. We meet with the Council of Heads in an hour.”

“The Council of Heads,” Stephen asks. He puts the book down. “This is the yokai thing right?”

“We’ve been over this, Strange.”

“Yokai is the word for demons, right?” he says, “We aren’t meeting actual demons are we?”
