Mbaku and Attuma: BFFs headcanons

They have nicknames only the other can call them:

You call him M’baku? Nah, Attuma knows him as Great Gorilla, Punching bag, lightweight, Coulda-been King, and Rocks for brains

You know Attuma? Nah, that’s M’baku’s bestie Great White, Shark Bait, Fishy General, Dollar Store Jaws, and Fat Ass.

They pretend not to be friends at first, until M’Baku says it first after Attuma begins to publically court Okoye.

M’Baku: I do not care that we are friends, if you hurt her in any way, I will see to it you never set foot on this land or sully her honor again.

Attuma:

M’Baku, serious: did you hear me?

Attuma: we are… friends?

They hug. It’s quick but it’s a hug.

Attuma is the quiet kid they put with Mbaku to mellow him out.

It didn’t work Mbaku is a bad influence.

After meetings Mbaku will go find Attuma on patrol. they like to arm wrestle, do physical combat training, and eat lunch together.

Okoye begins to pack them both lunches bc they got in trouble during a bad altercation. Attuma is very territorial with food.

Just left the theatre after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and let me tell y’all it takes the cake as the best movie from Marvel’s phase 4.

Also I cried I think 4 times and had so many “holy shit!” moments. Ryan Coogler was not lying when he said you’d feel Chadwick’s presence throughout the film 🥹Angela Bassett was captivating in her performance and Riri Williams might just be one of my new favorite characters. Hours had passed since the ordeal, Shuri and Riri were allowed inside but no where around you. You wanted to talk to them but that pain in your chest wouldn’t let you, your mind was running. You couldn’t think properly, tears welling in your eyes as you cried into your blankets.

Riri heard your cries from the room her and Shuri were in, instinctively she got up and follows the sound of your cures but was met with a locked door. Placing her back against the door she leaned against it and laid her head back “Y/n?” She called out to you, you didn’t care anymore. You needed her, moving yourself to the door you hesitantly responded “Riri? Is that you?” You mumbled, your voice sounded hurt but also sweet as honey. “Yes, Sthandwa. I’m here” she reassured “Your Xhosa is getting better” you said with a dry chuckle following your words “Shuri’s been teaching me” Riri responded as a smile found its way to her face “Look, y/n. I’m sorry” she mumbled, you paused your movements as your breath hitched. “You don’t have to respond, but I’m sorry. Sorry for betraying your trust, I’m sorry for hurting you, I’m sorry for not paying attention to you, I’m sorry for cheating on you. I’m not asking for another chance, I’m asking you to forgive me” she said as you sighed, reaching up you unlocked the door and pulled it open. You were met with Riri’s honey brown eyes, a small smile crept onto your face as you nodded slightly. “I forgive you” you whispered causing a smile to grow on her face.

Shuri was still in the empty room, corridors quiet, everything was quiet. What she did hear was you and Riri’s conversation, she had managed to get a little closer without either of you noticing but suddenly she just walked up to both of you. When she looked at you your eyes locked, hers filled with pain and hurt while yours were filled with vengeance and Regret. “Say goodbye to y/n” Shuri hissed and Riri nodded offering you a hug to which you accepted. “Bye Sthandwa” Riri whispered before turning and walking away leaving you and Shuri standing there. “I’m gonna miss you usana” she said making you smile slightly “One day, I’ll love you again just as much as I once did” you said looking at her, her eyes softened. She understood “One day, I’ll make you my wife again. And I’m so so sorry for everything I’ve done y/n” Shuri said before nodding. You looked at her for a moment before pulling her into a hug “I love you Shuri” you whispered and she smiled “I love you too y/n” she said as she hugged you back. When you pulled away from her she looked at you with her beautiful eyes “In the future Usana” she smiled before walking outside, getting onto the Royal talon you watched them depart from the Jabari lands.

A loud chuckle came from behind you making you spin around only to be met with M’Baku who pulled you into a hug and smiled “I’m proud of you, you handled it like a adult would” M’Baku said as he let go of you “I am a adult, I’ve matured Baku. I promise” you giggled as he rolled his eyes “My baby sister is getting all big on me!” He faked a cry making you laugh some more “My big brother is a baby” you said as you looked up at him. “I’m proud of you y/n” he nodded and so did you. “Thank you Baku” you whispered before both of you departed to your room.
