"What makes you think I'm going to be safe here?" I scuffed stepping past him and into his house.

"Relax. This is just temporary. I gotta make a few calls." He offered closing the door behind him. I watched as he walked over to retrieve an iPad that seemingly controlled the lighting amongst other things. "Besides this is a gated community."

My eyes softly bulged. He couldn't be serious. At this rate we'd both be dead by the end of the week. Niggas like Dani don't care about gates. "Are we talking about the same gates that couldn't keep that bimbo out? Asking for a friend." I rolled my eyes wondering if I had made the right decision by accepting his offer to help me.

"HaHaHa!" He faked laughed stepping towards me. He snatched the handle of my bag away from my hand and nodded for me to follow him. I giggled to myself knowing I had gotten under his skin.

"Should we be expecting the lady of the house any time soon?" I asked placing my handbag on the bed of the guest room he had led me to. "Or have hoeing hours been extended."

"Wowww!" He said causing me to turn towards him in amusement. "I thought we were past this."

"We are." I offered taking a seat on the bed and crossing my legs. "Almost." I mumbled as he turned away. He quickly turned back toward me.

"What was that?" He asked with a raised brow.

"Oh nothing." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Listen Lydia is not something you need to worry about. Okay. Let me worry about her." I nodded my head dismissively. Which seemed to be enough for him. I admired his wide shoulders as he headed for the door. He reached the entrance and turned to me again. "Can you fight?" He asked tilting his head.

"What?"

"What?" He repeated in an almost identical tone. "You know what. Don't worry about it. I got it. I'll figure something else out." He joked pulling the door up behind him.

"You're not funny!" I yelled behind him.

"Never said I was!" He yelled back causing me to smile for a moment. Until I realized he had left me alone with my thoughts.

I shook my head before standing to my feet and grabbing my luggage full of clothes. I rummaged through it aimlessly for a moment. In search of nothing in particular. I came across the one physical photo I had left of my grandmother and took a moment to hold it close to my heart before thanking her for her guidance. It didn't all make sense right now but I knew she had led me here. And if she saw something in the pretty boy downstairs that could help me then I'd stick around until shown otherwise.

I pulled out some lounge wear before walking over to my handbag and unzipping it. I rubbed my hand across all the bills that lay just beneath.

Flash Back

"A book deal." He repeated as if I were speaking some kind of foreign language. "Who the fuck do you think you are? Toni Morrison." He joked before laughing. I rolled my eyes as his loyal band of ignorant followers followed suit.

"I wouldn't expect any of you guys to understand. Especially seeing as how most of you can barely even fucking read." I grumbled snatching my contract from his hands and storming off to our bedroom.

I flopped onto the bed barely managing to contain the tears that threatened to fall.

I hated how he always managed to do this. Why couldn't he just be happy for me for once?

I heard the door open and quickly rose to a sitting position. He slammed the door in anger and I somehow managed to scoot myself up against the head board. "What the fuck was that?" He asked. His words covered in a thick Spanish accent. "Do you think you're funny? Huh?" He gritted climbing onto the bed and making his way over to me. He placed his face directly in front of mine. My breathing became shallow in anticipation. "You're already letting this writing shit get to your head. Aren't you!" He yelled as pieces of spit flew from his mouth and onto my face. "So now you don't wanna talk." He chuckled into his shoulder. "What happened to all that mouth you had just a minute ago? Huh?!" He yelled once more causing me to sink beneath him.

"Dani I'm ..." I started to apologize before quickly being cut off.

"Let me guess. You're sorry. Shani I ... " He placed his palm to his forehead as if he were growing even more frustrated. "I'm growing tired of you're apologies." He growled lowering his face into mine. "You begged me to stop hitting you ... but then you turn around and continue to give me reasons to." His pupils burned holes into mine. "I'm starting to think you actually like the shit. Why else would you continue to try me?" He placed his hand around my neck.

"No!" I yelled just as his grip tightened. I scratched and clawed at his face only to have him quickly move away. The more I fought the harder he squeezed until a certain darkness swept over me.

Flash Back x2

I packed my things as my grandmother watched from the door way.

"Grandma it's going to be okay." I offered as she wiped yet another fallen tear from her eyes.

"No it's not." She said causing me to stop packing and walk over to her.

"Dani loves me. Can't you see that?" I asked placing my hands on her shoulders.

"Girl that boy can only love you as much as you love yourself." She said growing frustrated." If he really loved you he'd support you going off to college to pursue your writing. He wouldn't have guilt tripped you into to staying here with his rotten ass."

"It's not like that." I shrugged dismissing her words. She was so used to having me up under her that the thought of me loving someone else seemed to scare her.

"Just promise me this." She said grabbing my shoulders. I allowed my eyes to fall to the floor. "Promise me that no matter what bullshit he pumps into your head that you won't let your dreams die in vein."

"Grandma." I whined.

"Grandma my ass." She huffed. "I've spent my better years looking after you. Attempting to right my wrongs and give you the life I should have given your father." She admitted as her voice cracked. "Break this curse." She begged wrapping her hands around my face.

"What curse grandma?" I asked shaking my head.

End of Flash back x2

I awoke half dressed and dazed. My eyes scanned over the room and I quickly realized Dani wasn't home. I sighed in relief before pulling the covers over my chest. I closed my eyes and tried once again to remember the conversation my grandmother and I had the night I left.

What was she trying to tell me? What had I missed? What curse?

I groaned before throwing the sheets away. I sat at the edge of the bed and placed my head into my hands. "What curse?!" I yelled into the air.

My phone began to ring on the night stand. I stared at it for a moment. Before hesitantly grabbing it as if it were my dead grandmother calling from the other side. "Hello." I said finally answering it.

"Well it's about time you answered one of these damn numbers I've been calling you from." Imena chimed into the phone catching me off guard.

"Imena ... Hi." I gushed. Not really sure of how to react.

"Hey there big time!" She gushed. "I heard you got a book deal." She chimed into the phone almost child like.

"Yeah ... Wait how did you ..." I started shaking my head.

"Never mind that silly." She seemed so light hearted and free. A long cry from the girl I had grew up with. "You've got to fly out here. You can stay with me until you get on your feet."

"Don't be silly." I said dismissively before standing to my feet and heading over to our walk in closest. I rummaged through my clothes as she continued to speak.

"I'm sooo serious. Girl you got next." She said making me roll my eyes. Maybe Dani was right. Hollywood was just full of Holly-weirdos.

"I can't afford that." I shrugged pushing through my clothes. "Besides it's just in writing. Doesn't mean anything until it's in dollar bills." I laughed pushing aside all of Dani's clothes that threatened to touch mine. Causing a few wads of hundreds to fall onto the floor just beside me.

I took them into my hand before realizing that he had went into his safe at some point and neglected to close it. "Generational Curses!" A voice boomed from no where almost knocking me on my ass. I looked around as if caught before realizing it was my own mind playing tricks on me. "What's your address?" I asked surprising even myself.

End of flash back

"I brought you some clean towels." He said barging into the room and scarring the shit out of me.

I quickly attempted to close my bag. Only to have him step over to me. "Damn." He said swatting my hand away. "Damn."

U.S. — Disney has chosen a bald actress to play Rapunzel in the upcoming live-action remake of Tangled. Director Guy Ritchie announced the casting at a press conference alongside Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

"We are thrilled to have this mega-talented bald actress joining us to star in this film," said Ritchie. "She has long been an outspoken advocate for the alopecia community and we know she'll lend her unique lived experience as a person of baldness to the iconic role of Rapunzel."

Several fans were upset with the casting, pointing out that the actress is bald, while Rapunzel has hair. "I'm all for diversity," said Disney fan Janet Cutler. "My pronouns are Xe / Xer. But this is a bit too far. Rapunzel is supposed to have hair. It's sort of core to the entire story."

Another Disney fan echoed the sentiment. "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair," said Disney fan Andrew Steeplechase. "That's one of the key quotes in the story. I'm not sure that works as well with a bald Rapunzel."

Historians and experts pushed back against the desire for a haired Rapunzel. "Demanding that Disney cast Rapunzel — a fictional character I might add — with an actor who has hair, is simply ableist, sexist, racist, and several other -ists," said Sandra Rice, the chair of Harvard's Folklore and Mythology department. "Sadly, this is another example of the white cis-hetero patriarchal system that we live in." Rice then began to sob.

The budget for the film is expected to be roughly $800 million. Principal photography begins in March of 2023. Disney has not yet announced who will play Holocaust survivor Elie Weisel in the upcoming biopic Night, but the company is down to two finalists for the role: Michael B. Jordan and Lena Dunham.

I think that's just a fandom fan fiction. In an interview Michael B. Jordan said they were setting up the photoshoot for that in July of 2020, meaning that decision had been made many, many months before the dick pic ever happened.

And I don't think he would have been considered for 2021 SMA as he had nothing releasing that year.

Michael B. Jordan a aussi récemment montré qu'il avait surmonté un harcèlement scolaire lorsqu'il a croisé une journaliste qui se moquait de lui. Preuve que les gens peuvent vous surprendre.

En ce qui me concerne je sais que j'aurais pris autant de plaisir à être le toutou de compagnie de ce bel homme noir, il aurait pu me tenir en laisse et me faire lécher ses chaussures pour m'humilier. Mais j'aurais aussi été fier si j'avais eu l'honneur d'être l'amoureux de cet homme magnifique.

Looking Ahead to 2023

With the new year finally here, I thought this would be a good time to list the films I am most excited about coming to theaters in 2023. So I present the films I am most excited about coming out this year (in alphabetical order):

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

The first of three Marvel Studios films coming in 2023 (and the first in Phase Five of the MCU) features Ant-Man and the Wasp going up against Johnathan Majors’ Kang in the Quantum Realm.

Asteroid City

Wes Anderson’s new film, again featuring an impressive ensemble, hits theaters in June. Anderson also has an adaptation of a Roald Dahl short story, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar hitting Netflix this fall. A banner year all around for West Anderson fans.

Creed III

Following in Stallone and Rocky’s footsteps, Michael B. Jordan will be making his directorial debut with the third Creed film set for release in March.

Dune: Part Two

Return to Arrakis with director Denis Villeneuve for this adaptation of the second half of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

Fast X

The tenth (and maybe penultimate?) film in the Fast & Furious Saga is coming this summer and features the additions of Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.

The Flash

Three DC movies are coming in 2023, the most interesting one, in my opinion, is The Flash from director Andy Muschietti which features the return of Michael Keaton as Batman - returning to the role after more than thirty years.

A Haunting in Venice

Kenneth Branagh returns as Hercule Poirot (and director) in his newest Agatha Christie adaptation.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

James Mangold directs Harrison Ford in his fifth and final Indiana Jones film. This is hands down the movie I am most excited about in 2023.

John Wick: Chapter 4

Keanu Reeves is back as John Wick for this fourth installment. What else is there to say?

Killers of the Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese reteams with Leonardo DiCaprio in this adaptation of a non-fiction book of the same name about a series of murders in 1920s Oklahoma.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One

Ethan Hunt is back for his seventh impossible mission, and the third directed by Christopher McQuarrie. This post will self-destruct in five seconds, so read faster. Dead Reckoning Part Two is coming in 2024.

Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan turns his lens to the origins of the Atomic Bomb in this biopic starring Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the breakout hit of 2018, and now the sequel is on its way.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

The Mario Bros. are back on the big screen in this computed animated adventure comedy from Illumination. Mushroom Kingdom here we come.

Wonka

Timothee Chalamet is a young Willy Wonka in this fantasy musical from Paddington’s Paul King.

Looking back at the 12 films on my Looking Ahead to 2022 list from last year: I saw eight in theaters, three were bumped to 2023 and are included above, and one that I still haven’t gotten around to seeing (sorry The Black Phone).

The Three of You

Michael B. Jordan x Reader

Summary: Accidents happen, and this accident is both of your faults, but Michael doesn’t think so.

“I swear to God, Michael, if you don’t get off that couch right now, I will make you regret your life!”

“But Mum!”

“No! You need to go and apologize to Y/N! Right now! She’s the best girl you ever brought home.”

“Mum, you don’t understand, she-she-“

“I don’t know why she got mad a left, but you would be a fool not to go after her.”

Michael rolled his eyes as his father took a part of the argument he had with his mum. Michael’s mother was angry at her son, because he let his girlfriend leave. You left after an argument with Michael, although his parents were in the house, they didn’t hear or know the reason behind it. And now, his mother was determined to change his son’s mind.

“She did the worst possible thing, Dad!”

“She cheated on you?” asked Michael’s mother with a shocked expression.

“No! She got pregnant.” upon hearing the news, Michael’s father took a look at his wife, they had been married for long enough to know when she was about to blow up and whoop their son’s ass. Michael was about to hear it, and his father couldn’t wait.

“What did you just say?” Michael’s mother was calm, way too calm, she probably wanted to confirm is she heard her son correctly.

“I said, she got pregnant, what was I supposed to do, Mum?”

“So, what you are saying is, you made her leave, after she lived with us for the last three years while dating you for the last five, because she got pregnant?” Michael obviously didn’t understand that his mother’s calmness was only the calm before the storm.

“Exactly!”

His mother blinked once, twice.

“How dare you?” his mother’s voice was as calm and collected as ever but it was only the coating, inside she was furious. “I thought I raised you better than to be an asshole. I know you didn’t want to have children, I get that, you told us before. But the fact that, you got your girlfriend pregnant and then you not only yelled at her, but made her leave her home is borderline disgusting.” Michael watched as his mother’s eyes filled with tears. Tears and disappointment. It was a mother’s gaze that sent shivers down his spine.

With one last look his mother walked away, his father following her.

Michael was left alone with his thoughts and with his mother’s words still ringing in his head.

You and Michael had something you would call a normal relationship, despite his job and yours.

You were an actress who got invited to the premier of Black Panther, and there you met the very handsome and inviting Michael. He started talking with you and you soon found yourself dating him.

Everything went normally, you started living together with him, and since his parents lived with him, you felt welcomed. You had a great relationship with his mother and often helped his father grill. You knew Michael didn’t want children, he told you before and you respected his decision. However, after a hot and passionate night, you found yourself to be pregnant. You thought about getting an abortion, you thought about the possibility to give your child to another family, but you just couldn’t. You thought the best option should be to talk with Michael and find a solution together, after all he is the father of the child under your heart.

What you didn’t expect was the anger in Michael.

He started yelling, accusing you of cheating then of the fact that you got pregnant on purpose so he had to become a dad.

You don’t remember a lot of what he said or accused you of, all you remember is his last words to you. “Leave my house you whore.”

It hurt your heart to see your kind and gentle Michael become this monster.

When you left, you had nowhere to go, since you were living with Michael, you sold your old apartment, so you stayed in a hotel until you could find a little apartment for yourself and your baby. Although it hurt, you knew you needed to be strong for the two of you even if deep down you were having a panic attack 99.9% of the time. You were alone for the last three months.

Today, you had an appointment with your doctor, it was just a regular check-up on the baby.

Everything went smoothly, you got to hear the baby’s heartbeat and got the date of your next appointment, by that time you’ll be four months into your pregnancy which you found very interesting since your baby bump was just about to get showing.

However as you walked out of the hospital at to your car, your eye caught a very familiar car.

It was the exact model and colour as Michael’s. The car was empty that you can see. You looked around you but he wasn’t there. You quickly made your way to your car, taking deep breaths.

“It cannot be him. It’s just a coincidence, I’m only imagining things.” you told yourself once you were in your car, calming your heart as you quickly drove away.

Your next appointment came quicker than you anticipated. You were now into your fourth month and now you had an apartment which was fairly furnished and your baby was as healthy as you can wish for. As you left the hospital, you saw the same car you did last time, the same your ex-boyfriend was driving. You figured that a worker at the hospital might be the owner, you really wanted to believe that, but when you saw him get out of the car, your heart and legs stopped. You didn’t want to believe that it was Michael at the hospital, you were careful and chose a doctor who was furthest from Michael’s place, so you wouldn’t run into him. And now your biggest fear just happened. He was right there. You felt like you’ll faint. Lucky for you, he didn’t seem to notice you. As you made your way to your car, carefully not to get noticed, you remembered his last words to you, the hatred is his eyes and just how heartlessly the man who taught loved you, put you out.

You wanted to pretend for a moment that you didn’t care, and that you were over him, but how could you? You were carrying his baby under your heart.

You managed to get into your car and drove away, on your whole way back home, you wondered just why he would be there, hoping he didn’t notice you.

Not even a day passed when you heard the knock on your door.

A bit confused, you got off of the couch and walked to open the door. Since it was late afternoon, you weren’t expecting anyone.

And sure enough, the last person you wanted to see, Michael, was in front of your door. Before he could say a thing, you shut the door and locked it back.

“Please, I just want to talk.” you heard him say.

“I think you already said enough, Michael.”

“I won’t leave, please just give me five minutes.”

You opened the door and looked at him.

“Five minutes.” you said with a firm tone and let him in, but not further than your door. You looked at the clock on your wall, taking a note of the time.

“I would like to start by saying, I’m sorry. I behaved like a complete asshole. And throwing you out wasn’t fair of me at all. I should have thought things through before acting, but I got scared. You know how I feel about kids, I get nervous around them and having one on my own scared me to death. I know that’s not an excuse for my horrible words and behaviour, and I’m not going to make any, I was a dick. The fact that you got pregnant is not your fault, I’m the one to blame since I should have paid more attention. I just wanted to apologize and I know you probably don’t want to, but I still love you, so please, come back to me. I mean I’m so ridiculously in love, I cannot even sleep without you, Y/N.”

“You know, Michael. I love you, I honestly do, and what you just told me is exactly what I wanted to hear for the past three and half months. But this isn’t just about me and you anymore. This is about the baby, our baby, I will be a mother and I cannot be selfish. I have to make sure that the future for my child is bright. I cannot go running back to you, and then you take another turn and throw us out. I cannot let that happen.”

“I get it, I honestly do. You can imagine the shit I got from my parents during the time you were gone.” Michael shifted from one leg to another. “But I’m sure. I’m in love with you and I know I can love the child, our child too. I already love half of them, now I just have to settle with my half. Please, Y/N.”

You needed a moment, so you held a finger up to signal him and left to the bedroom. You sat down on your bed and thought things through. Michael looked like he really meant what he said and you believed every word of his. But who knows what would make his switch again and call you a whore while he’s throwing you and your child out.

And yet, will all this fear in your heart, you were determined to risk it. You decided to go back to him, to be with him. And so, that night he slept at your place, with his arms around you, with his palm placed on your belly. It was just the three of you, it was perfect. And Michael was finally able to sleep.

The next day Michael brought you back to your home, his parents were over the moon to see you back at the house. They were so excited for the baby they went on and on about the unborn baby and how much they’ll love them.

You were finally back in yours and Michael’s bed. It was a lot bigger and a lot comfier than yours at the apartment. You felt like you finally arrived home.

Later that week, you had a shower at night, getting ready for bed. Michael was still watching TV with his dad. When you put your pajamas on, you realized your belly started showing, you felt it a couple of times before and it definitely was harder to the touch.

The signs of your child being healthy and growing steady. You were so caught up, you didn’t notice Michael coming in only when he hugged you and placed his big hands on your smaller ones.

“He’s getting bigger.”

“Excuse me?” you said. “He? What makes you think the baby is a boy?”

“Well, with my amazing genes, he has to be.”

“And what if the baby is a girl?”

“That’s good too! I can already see myself in a tutu pretending to be drinking tea while being surrounded by stuffed animals.”

“Sounds like a dream.” you said with a big sign. The picture Michael just painted for you was perfection.

You were so excited to see what he would be like as a father.

“It is my dream.” he said, his voice barely a whisper. You didn’t comment on that. Thinking that only a few days ago you still believed he wanted nothing from you and now, you were standing in your home, in his arms, surrounded by nothing but love.

You enjoyed every second as Michael held you. It was only the three of you at that moment, nothing else mattered but the love you felt for one another and for your child. It was true happiness.

So I’ve gotten settled enough in what I’m writing that it’s getting close to publishing time for my new fic that features Jeremy Renner as the main male character.

So first things first. A title (which was a bitch to come up with) and a cover (which was not a bitch to come up with).

I will be providing character bios before too long and then start the publishing process. I’ve got over 17,000 words written already, which I know in my past writing was like a chapter and a half but I am not getting myself into the 12,000 word chapter situation again. It’s too hard on me. These will be shorter so that they are manageable and I feel like I can crank the chapters out more easily.

If you follow me because of my writing, that’s wonderful and I love and appreciate you. I hope you continue to enjoy what I write despite this not being Harry Styles related.

I get questions a lot on if I will ever go back to the world of Evie and Harry so I can finish “When Will You Save Me, Los Angeles?” and the honest answer is, I don’t know. Right now anything I’ve been writing before is on an indefinite hiatus.

I needed something new and fresh. I needed to write new characters. I turned 35 this year and honestly trying to get into the mind of a 25 year-old to write from Evie’s mind got difficult. Writing LA started to be a box on a to do list I never checked and that I dreaded seeing (trust me I have lists). So I started writing things that did fulfill me and make me want to write. The one I’m choosing to publish first is “Adventure of a Lifetime,” it has complicated characters, great relationships, and an original female character dealing with a lot of unexpected twists and turns in her life.

I have multiple WIP docs that get opened on my computer occasionally. One with Michael B. Jordan that I started and love and can’t wait to get back to. One with Chris Evans that honestly might be able to be a one-shot series that could involve requested storylines or scenes if I decide not to make it a full on chartered fic. And the original novel that lurks in my folder begging me to write it again but that I needed a break from because it’s about romance and politics, our current political climate plays a role which makes it sort of soul crushing for me to try and write.

I can’t wait to share this with all of you and I hope you enjoy it. And if you only stuck around for the Harry content, thank you for your support over the years. London Calling, the LA Series, and A New Life In New York were a blast to write. But now I need a change of pace. I hope you enjoy my new writing as much as you enjoyed what I’ve written before.
