The Base of Menkaure's Pyramid.
The bottom courses of granite 𓌳𓄿𓏏𓏋𓊌𓏫 “mAt” are visibly unfinished, probably halted in mid-work due to the death of the pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-eA” ‘Great House’. The pyramid's 𓍋𓅓𓂋𓉴 “mr” date of construction is unknown, because Menkaure's (𓇳𓏠𓂓) “mn-kA-re” ‘The established one of the ka of Ra’ reign has not been accurately defined, but it was probably completed in the 26th century BC.
It lies a few hundred yards southwest of its larger neighbours, the Pyramid of Khafre (𓇳𓈍𓆑) “hA-f-re” ‘He Appears as Ra’ and the Great Pyramid of Khufu (𓐍𓅱𓆑𓅱) “h-w-f-w” ‘He Protects Me’ in the Giza necropolis.
Attempted Demolition:
At the end of the twelfth century al-Malek al-Aziz Othman ben Yusuf, Saladin's son and heir, attempted to demolish the pyramids, starting with Menkaure's.𓏤
The workmen whom Al-Aziz had recruited to demolish the pyramid stayed at their job for eight months, but found it almost as expensive to destroy as to build. They could only remove one or two stones each day.𓏤
Some used wedges and levers to move the stones, while others used ropes to pull them down. When a stone fell, it would bury itself in the sand, requiring extraordinary efforts to free it.𓏤
Wedges were used to split the stones into several pieces, and a cart was used to carry it to the foot of the escarpment, where it was left. Due to such conditions, they could only damage the pyramid by leaving a large vertical gash in its north face.

The Ancient Egyptian Canopic jars played an important role in the process and rituals associated with mummification, the creation of Mummies. Definition: Canopic jars were wide necked funerary jars designed to contain the large human organs called the *viscera which were extracted during the process of mummification. Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars - The Four Sons of Horus The canopic jars containing each of the four organs were identified with different gods who were the sons of Horus. Horus was the son of Isis and Osiris and was depicted with the body of a man and the head of Hawk. Horus was a god of the sky and the sun The four sons of Horus who were deemed to be protectors of the parts of the body which had been removed during the process of mummification. The four sons of Horus were in turn each protected by powerful female gods: 🔖Imsety was depicted as the man-headed god and was under the protection of Isis 🔖Hapi was depicted in baboon form and was under the protection of Nephthys 🔖Duamutef was depicted in jackal form and was under the protection of Neith 🔖Qebehsenuef was depicted in hawk form and was under the protection of Serket. The Egyptian mummification process lasted for a period of 70 days. The seventy day period corresponded to the length of time during which Sirius, the 'Dog Star', appeared to die by dipping below the horizon. Osiris and his wife Isis have both been closely associated with this star. However, Canopus is the second brightest star in the Egyptian sky and according to Plutarch, Canopus is linked with the god of the dead, Osiris. In Greek the word Canopus means "eye of the dog" implying a relationship with Sirius, the Dog star. #Mo_sharkawi1 #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #theking #Tutankhamun #diadem #canopicjars #dogstar #siriusblack #spiritualconnection #sirius #dogstar #foursonsofhorus #jars https://www.instagram.com/p/BwsGfJFhPD4akOH3G80ofdPZil_sgtVIxd-_DM0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gh71aa6q60q9

NILEOMETER at ELEPHANTINE, ASWAN A nileometer was a structure for measuring the Nile River's clarity and water level during the annual flood season. Between July and November, the reaches of the Nile running through Egypt would burst their banks and cover the adjacent flood plain. When the waters receded, around September or October, they left behind a rich deposit of fertile black silt over the croplands. The akhet , or season of the Inundation, was one of the three seasons into which the ancient Egyptians divided their years. The best known example of this kind can be seen on the island of Elephantine in Aswan. #Mo_sharkawi1 #time #moonlight #moon #thegiftsofmindfulness #iregipto #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove https://www.instagram.com/p/BwAXwD5Bbyd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1t9ywjwndqrmp

Ghueita temple, Kharga Oasis. The yellow sandstone temple within the walls of a Roman fortress which dominates the hilltop at Qasr el-Ghueita, measures 10.5m by 23.5m and occupies about one-fifth of the space within the fortress. Its earliest extant part, the three rear chambers, dates to the reign of and Darius I of Persian Dynasty XXVIII, though it was possibly built on the site of an earlier sacred structure. The temple was dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut and Khons. Much of the remaining decoration is Ptolemaic, with well-preserved screen walls and several floral columns. There are three sanctuaries in the back of the temple which still contain many remnants of coloured paint. #Mo_sharkawi1 #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove #iregipto #thegiftsofmindfulness https://www.instagram.com/p/BwjfqWMBsx5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1n08a8n5zhr7p

"Wepwawet stands before the king, and offers him a crook and flail, and gives him the Breath of Life. Wepwawet, "of Upper and Lower Egypt, Controller of the Two Lands," says, (I) come to thee, bearing life and dominion; mayest thou be young like Horus as king; I hand over to thee the sceptre and flail, and the beneficent office of Onnophris; may thy name endure by reason of what thou hast done. As long as the sky shall exist, thou shalt exist." He continues, "Receive for thyself the sceptre and flail which are in the hand of thy father, Osiris." The King says,"....Menmaetre has appeared on the seat of Horus, pre-eminent in the House of the Morning, that he may guide all the living like Re, forever." ~ A Guide to Religious Ritual at Abydos ~ Rosalie David Located in the Seti I temple in Abydos, Egypt #thegiftsofmindfulness #iregipto #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove #Mo_sharkawi1 https://www.instagram.com/p/BwloRECBtUI/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1iwoy7doxxi0r
