i’m back in the sleeping-for-twelve-hours phase. it’s probably my medicine, i might quit it altogether. i should make an appointment with my psychiatrist to give me a prescription for something new, if i’m lucky enough it’ll be one pill a day, not 3-4. the boredom is the worst. nothing seems attractive. Only a few of the classes at university provide some semblance of relief. Mostly laboratories and workshops, there i have some task that needs completing, whether it’s editing a model or trying to get an LED to blink. Language classes are mostly fine, i’ve always liked learning foreign languages and it’s a nice change from the everyday technical matters. Then there’s the free time, when nothing seems to 'be'. i sleep quite a lot lately and then feel guilty for getting up late. but what to do after i wake up? eat, because that’s important. Then, there’s so many things i could do. I start writing another report or working on the same device model i’ve already spent over fifteen hours on, but with time i work slower, slower, and in the end, i drift. This is what i mostly do. Yesterday at noon i went out to go to a cafe in the city centre, as lately i’m not able to get myself to work at my desk. Before I manage to get there I drift, from side street to shop, from shop to side street. After I do some coursework while drinking my overpriced coffee, i continue with my drifting. From Nowy Świat, to Rossmann, to Mysia, I get my lungs full of Warsaw dust at Świętokrzyska when a tram goes past, all while listening to the same song on repeat the whole day. I think about the horrendously high prices and how fast “i should get a job” changed to “i need to get a job”. The drifting leads me to my friend's house. The nothing got a change of scenery and i stay there until 1AM. I get up to walk home and i realise how many cigarettes i smoked that day. Like six. Plus two glo.
