I've had some amazing shoes but my favourite ever are these

These are Nike Air Mogan Low 6.0's. I had this pair and literally wore them through the soles. I always wanted to try and repair them but didn't have the knowledge at the time so I threw them away. It's something I really regret as I've learned a LOT about shoes and stuff since then and could have repaired them. I actually used them as the subject of a painting in college years ago.

I found a pair on sale on eBay at one point, but they would have cost over €200 to get them sent from Australia and I chickened out. I also regret that.

The only photographic evidence that remained of his ancestor were snapshots taken by someone else. More often than not, these images were captured by colonial authorities that held immense amount of power against the subjects. These simple snapshots of his great grandfather expressed the cultural history of the photograph as being intertwined with the socio-political hierarchy of a colonial society. This understanding birthed the idea within Mogan about the power that the camera possessed in constructing the narrative of history, especially the narrative of people like the indentured Tamils, who have been denied a sovereign narrative for themselves for centuries now. Mogan being a descendant of his great grandfather and the colonial period as a whole gets to be, for one of the first times in history, the pioneer of his and his peoples own narratives, without the shackles and incarceration of the colonial administration.
