I was walking through a forest mid-autumn and the leaves were changing colors. I happened upon a gentle human-sized grasshopper who wore a suit, a monocle, a top hat and carried a cane. He sang to me, “Now a million bugs begin to take flight,” to the chorus melody of Retrovertigo by Mr. Bungle. Normal sized grasshoppers started to fly out of the leaves on the ground. I woke up.

This is a character who is a member of the execution·autopsy team in an individual universe. I drew the autopsy table, morgue, and execution chamber combined in one space. I also placed Asphodel, which is considered to be close to death, around the character. Because the client allowed me to take my time working, I put more effort than usual into depicting the texture of the objects this time.🥹
