DRUNKEN TRUTHS ━━━ REMUS LUPIN
sober confessions p2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: both you and Remus hate each other, painfully eating away each other each time you're forced to see one another due to your shared friends. Now at a party, Remus can't keep his eyes from you. The truth comes out when you're drunk, right?
notes: f!rich!reader x poor!remus lupin, goody-two-shoes!reader x stoner!remus angst, jealousy, underage drinking, frenemies to lovers Remus is sassy
a/n: I'm forever obsessed with the rich jealous partying trope for no reason at all. Gossip Girl is influencing me too much.

YOU DIDN'T KNOW WHY YOU WERE AT THIS PARTY IN THE FIRST PLACE, you didn't need to come, this wasn't exactly your crowd. You were only friends with Lily, which soon turned into a tangled mess of being friends with her boyfriend and his friends. Because you'd never be at a party with low lives wasting their days away getting drunk and smoking weed.
That's the exact reason why'd you'd associated yourself with Lily Evans in the first place, up keeping her clean slate would keep yours clean as well. So when Lily refused to attend this party, despite the pleads from her friends and her boyfriends, why had you accepted the offer in her place?
You very well justified that you needed to socialize more, besides, being so uptight wouldn't get you any farther than it'd had now, it was time for a change. You weren't stupid of course, you made sure to bring someone along of who could get you home safely, someone of your status who had good morals and ideals, which all too entirely failed.
As James drove the three of you, you noticed his insistent pestering of your plus one. Now you sat pressed against this supposedly morally good guy, drunk, dizzy, and tired, so much so that you couldn't even feel the nips he'd been giving to your neck. You rambled on to James and Mary, who sat on the armchairs across you.
Both, relatively sober, found intense amusement in seeing you drunk with a guy all over you, which was amazingly out of character for yourself. Every now and then you'd look around the room in search of something frantically determined, the two teasing you on how your eyes were popping out of your head.
You looked across the room at Sirius and Peter miserably failing at beer pong, then to Dorcas and Marlene as they swayed to whatever tracks were booming throughout the room so loud you had a slight headache.
Taking in account everyone you knew was to be there, was when you realized why you were so confused. "Where's Lupin?" you mumbled, "Haven't seen him yet."
James, the closest to you than anyone else here, looked at you in surprise, "You want to know—Moony, huh?" he poked the inside of his cheek.
"I saw Remus earlier, dunno where he'd be," Mary answered, the both of you ignoring James' delight.
You hummed as the boy beside you pressed his lips to your cheek, "Don't need to worry about other guys now, baby," the boy whispered, and even though you cringed at the name you were too tipsy to care.
A burst of giggles and snickers erupted from behind you, James raised his eyebrows in even further interest than from what he expressed before after your comment, "There's the man of the hour!"
You whipped your head around, rolling your eyes at the lanky man who entered the scene, a girl attached to his hip, bottle in hand, and a cigarette in the other. He wriggled free from the girl's arms, still telling her to follow, as he did a smug dance of a spin, "Missed me too much, Prongs?"
James snorted and titled his head towards you, "No, but someone else did," he said, nuzzling his face teasingly at your scowl. Remus slowed his steps towards you all, and you could've sworn you saw a small disgruntled frown appear on his face for a moment as noticed you and your company.
He quickly smirked, "Now who let the selfish snobs in?" he yelled, no one else paying him no mind as he plotted himself, and the girl he was with on the other edge of the couch.
You scrunched your nose, his presence snapping you out of some of the daze you were in, "Does anyone smell that? There's just this intoxicating smell of lung cancer and ignorance, absolutely vomit-inducing if you ask me," you snapped.
"Poor thing, wouldn't want you puking all over your date, princess," he remarked, putting his arms around the shoulder of the gorgeous girl who giggled at his comment beside him.
You stomach twinged at the name, that all too easily rolled of his tongue, and his tongue only. And everytime, since the first time he'd said, started a roraing fire in your stomach.
━ "Lily, have you seen my mother's Chanel bag?" you whined barging into the room. You were hurriedly getting ready for a fancy dinner you were supposed to attend.
The red-haired girl shook her head sympathetically. You seethed at her answer, ignoring the weird stares from the others in the room, "My mother is going to murder me!" you yelped, "I need that bag!"
An annoying snicker echoed from across the room, "Is the poor princess finally going to get in trouble?" he crooned, "Told you that you needed to sharpen that memory," he tutted.
"Fuck you, Lupin." ━
You grunted, not able to find anything to bite back with. Remus smirked at your silence, directing his attention to your company, "So who's the wealthy, tasteless boggart you've dragged along?"
The boy beside you glared towards Remus, "Evan Rosier," he introduced, gritting through his teeth, "And we both have much finer tastes in both people and luxuries than you ever will."
"Maybe you do, in women at least," Remus started, and your cheeks grew slightly rosy at his insinuation, "But Princess here sure does have a knack for choosing the worst men to be with."
You scoffed, "And you're to be the best option? Someone so childishly obsessed with chocolate?"
He shrugged with a grin, "Well, yeah," he answered, taking the last swig of his beer before standing up and stretching his limbs. "You lot have fun, I'm off for another drink," he declared, stumbling his way to the kitchen as the girl hopelessly followed him.
You huffed, aimlessly sitting and now listening to Mary's rant, and you couldn't help but feel extremely suffocated. Your head continued to hurt and your mind swam. You took a sharp breath and jumped up from your seat, "Gonna get some air," you mumbled without another word.
You clutched your head as you pushed through the bodies of people. Slipping out into the backyard, you breathed while staring at your shoes as they danced around in your vision.
"Y'following me now are ya?" a voiced echoed out to your right.
Picking your head up, your eyes followed to source. You chuckled to yourself seeing Remus pressed against the wall, puffing smoke of a new cigarette into the air. "You wish," you said.
Taking in his disheveled hair, stained jumper, and sunken eyes, something in you paused. Your brows furrowed as your expression was somehow a mix of confusion and disgust. Remus tilted his head and cocked his eyebrow, rolling himself off the wall.
Suddenly your legs stomped toward him. "You're annoying, arrogant, and can't dress for the life of you," you spat.
Remus looked at you like he'd just watched a jester perform for him. "M'sorry, what was that?" he mirth, leaning down as he tilted his head towards you as to hear better.
You frowned and repeated yourself, "You're incredibly annoying, stupidly arrogant, terribly dressed, and I don't like you," you announced once again.
He removed his head only slightly away from you, still close enough as you felt his breath fan over your face from his wolfish smile. He brought the cigarette from his two fingers up to his lips as he inhaled and puffed out the smoke into your face.
Your face scrunched again in disgust as he stared at you intently, you awaiting his retaliation. "I find you incredibly gorgeous, stupidly charming, and terribly cute, and I surprisingly find a great liking to you."
Blush scattered across your face at his confession, a gulp climbing down your throat whilst you trailed off, "You...?" You were speechless, not expecting his words, the grass and scenery behind him blurring and swirling in the back.
Your eyes darted around the place, avoiding his own eyes before your chin was pinched between his thumb and index, forcing your eyes to bounce right to him, his cigarette still clenched in the same hand in the last of his fingers.
Not only had you not expected his confession, but you certainly didn't expect him to lean in, pressing his lips gently to yours. It quickly escalated as his hand moved to grip the back of your head, the other resting on your hip.
Your elbows brought up to at his shoulders, fingers tangled in his hair whilst you screamed to yourself to pull him away, you're body ultimately betraying you as they only pushed his lips farther into yours. That's when you found out that you were indeed, kissing him back.
Remus pulled away chuckling, letting your arms continue to sit on his shoulders. You breathed hard, staring at him with confusion with the newfound dizziness swimming around in your head. Your mouth was agape, ready to say something, but nothing came out.
"Merlin, if I knew just a compliment and a kiss could get you to shut up, I would've done that ages ago," he joked. Your face fell at the remark, your forearms brought down to his chest as you finally tried to push him away.
"Why'd you kiss me, you prick?" you sternly questioned, ignoring how rapidly your heart was beating. His hand still keeps you in place at your hip.
"Because I like you," he stated as if it were obvious.
You shook your head, letting a small laugh escape from your nose, "You're drunk, and you're high," you insisted.
"Truth comes out when you're drunk, right?"
You stood silent, begging to tell him no and denying the fact that you itched to kiss him once more. Though your lies weren't said, your truth was done as your lips soon gravitated back to his like a magnet.
Now instead of you being pressed against against the couch you were now found pressed against the concrete wall of the house, and your innocent need for one more kiss turned into necking.
A smirk from Remus continued to press on into the kiss as you two parted for air a quick second as you got in a whisper of "I hate you."
Purposely, on the next gasp for air, Remus cheekily echoed your words from earlier before, "You wish."
His cigarette was discarded to to floor as both his hands were now occupied at your hips, and both your own gripping at the sides of his face. While your back scrapped along the wall your hips were lifted away as his arms clawed them closer to his own.
His back bent over to reach down to you. Your mind flooded with the discovered thoughts and questions on how you were making out with Remus Lupin at a party, and how badly you'd wanted him for the past year.
Still, the two of you couldn't escape the quips murmured now and then.
"I knew I told you to sharpen your memory—but maybe instead you should sharpen your whole mind—if it took you this long to find out."
"Fuck you, Remus."
"I think you're in the process of doing that, yeah."
"Idiot."
"Brat."
You thought you might've drowned in his lips, if it wasn't for the parade of a voice. "Time to get going y/n!" James shouted, stepping outside.
Quickly, you pushed Remus off of you before James could catch you in the act. You felt as though you'd committed a crime.
Remus chuckled as he stumbled back, wiping your lip gloss off his lips. "Lily wants me home..." he slowed, seeing the mess of both of your guys' hair and your excessive blushing.
"Right, let's go," you readied, combing your fingers through your hair trying to fix it.
James nodded, disturbed and amused again, he slipped back inside. You panted heavily from your nose, staring at how Remus' eyes dashed across your face before they finally rested on yours.
"Best get going, Princess. You're carriage is ready and your palace awaits," he joked. You clamped your lips shut with your teeth, your stern lustful glare softened as you pursed your lips.
"Bye, Remus," you said with your arms crossed, turning on your heel you walked away, still feeling his eyes on the back of your head with his smug smirk.
As you crossed back inside you jumped at the sight of James waiting in anticipation by the glass door. "Bloody hell, James! Y'Scared the shit out of me!"
James snickered at you, "You and Moony?" he asked surprised and teasingly, though behind your backs him and Lily had counted the days when it'd finally happen.
You scowled and shook your head rigorously, "Absolutely not!" you opposed.
"Sure. And by the way, you reek of beer, smoke, and chocolate," he added cheekily, sparking the heat in your cheeks again.
"Piss off, Potter."

People say that Sirius never realised how offensive his words were until James or Remus said it to him.
I personally disagree with this take. I think, Sirius was very aware of how offensive his words and actions were. James didn't realise, but Sirius did.
Sirius finds people's sore spots and deliberately hits them. This is not James's "morally orientated" and rather impersonal bullying, this is a deliberate way of humiliating people Sirius doesn't particularly respect. People want to believe Sirius "didn't realise" what he was doing because it's easier to love Sirius and justify their Wolfstar that way, but Sirius always understood what he was doing, unlike James. Sirius probably rarely crossed the line beyond psychological bullying, but didn't stop James from physical bullying – he found it fun. But he himself hardly participated in physical aggression, although he obviously could have, being magically and physically gifted. It seems Sirius had drawn the line for himself.
Sirius wasn’t a little stupid boy, he matured very early, he had a very good understanding of boundaries and was always very aware of where he and James were crossing those boundaries.
“Bad luck, Prongs,” said Sirius briskly.
Sirius knew about James's crush on Lily and found it even funny that she rejected him. Because Sirius understood that James often crossed the line, and Lily’s reaction was quite fair.
‘What is it with her?’ said James, trying and failing to look as though this was a throwaway question of no real importance to him.
‘Reading between the lines, I’d say she thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate,’ said Sirius.
While James played the splendid knight in shining armor, Sirius found it all amusing. Because it was fun for him. And no one told him he was doing anything wrong, he already knew it. Remus mostly stayed quiet, sometimes making them “feel ashamed", haha. He's just much more socially anxious than Sirius, he doesn't like being "unliked." Sirius has zero social anxiety, he didn't care whether people loved him or not (besides, James loved him, what else did he need? Right, nothing).
And I think Sirius truly only respected James. Someone who Sirius truly respects, he never hurt. The moment when Sirius "hurts" Harry in book five is a pretty harsh moment, because Sirius loses respect for Harry for a brief moment because Harry turns out to be different from James. But then Sirius shows a new and even stronger respect for Harry. It's a good moment. This moment allowed Sirius to grow in his relationship with Harry.
And it's obvious Sirius respected Lily by fifth year. And after Azkaban, he "learned" to respect others (he reacted pretty gently in his argument with Molly), but his arrogance still showed sometimes (ie, he rudely cut off Hermione, not letting her finish her thought).
Anyway, what had changed with age wasn't that Sirius had realised that his words and actions were offensive. He always knew that. And he had shown even after Azkaban how cruel he could be to those he didn't respect. The only thing that changed was that Sirius started respecting random people more, instead of sitting around like a shiny royal arse.
But there is a NUANCE here. Sirius most likely always treated girls with respect by default. Idk why I just feel it :D With Hermione, they just didn't see eye to eye.

hiii !! i’m here to req no. 14 from the prompt list + james ( literally bc i can just imagine sirius telling them to kiss and make up ) 💘💘
send me one of my boys + a prompt
james + reader ⋆ "can you both just kiss and make up-" both of them: "SIRIUS"
there were things everyone in hogwarts knew. some of them where: you and james were extremely competitive, the sorest of losers, partners in crime? yes, but stubborn from the biggest to the smallest bone you both had. having you both playing for the quidditch team was a blessing for gryffindor. and also a curse. a blessing because it meant the red and golden lions had never won so many matches in a row. a curse because you were both insufferable during quidditch practice and even worse than that, sharing dorms and common areas with the both of you after a losing match? hell. literally.
"told'ya that stupid strategy wouldn't work," james' hands go through his hair, exasperated by the terrible beating slytherin had done to the team's score, and to his self esteem. "but nooo, you're always miss right." his face twisting in a mocking expression. "didn't work 'cause you didn't do your bloody part, potter." you're just as frustrated, arms flailing around, the game ended hours ago, this is the fourth or fifth time you both are discussing this exact same point. the common room getting emptier and emptier each time, leaving only you both, sirius, remus, peter and lily, as your friends they were morally compelled to stay and keep you both from each other's throats. both your wands already perfectly secure in remus' pockets to avoid any disappearance of brows or cutting of hair. exhausting really, dealing with you two was becoming exhausting, especially because you were both very easy going people with everyone else. james was a charmer, you were always a delight. it was fascinating how irritating both of you became in situations like these, how easy it was to get you both riled up because of the other. so it clicked to everyone, but you two, apparently, that you simply had feelings for each other. none of you knew how to react upon those, so you bottled it up and when james made something stupid it got you so mad because the feelings you had for him were all intense, all or nothing, no middle ground. and it was the same for him. best friends who had so much in common and loved doing most of it together, who made each other laugh, and helped each other when things got bad. and then suddenly, a screaming match. quidditch strategies, blaming each other for some prank, arguing about the right answer to a test, it was the stupid way you two found to actually feel and deal with the strength of your emotions. lily and remus leave while the argument went from the yelling to the huffing, both claiming to need tea if they were going to endure all that for longer. peter debates staying for a while, he actually had plans with james for the day, but as soon as the yelling gains speed again, he knows those are gone and gives up, leaving only james, you and sirius and the thick weight of the horrible mood the room was filled with. "i won't be doing idiotic stuff on the field just 'cause you want me to, honey." james keeps the nickname, not matter how mad he gets, but there's nothing sweet on his tone. and you want to reply, you really do, you want to say he's the only idiot, that you lost because of him, but instead you suddenly feel a strong push on the back of your head, making you and james touch foreheads. "can you both just please kiss and make up already." sirius isn't even joking, he sounds tired, his hands still holding both of your heads as you and james yelled his name, shocked he would even dare to say such thing. why would james ever want to kiss you? or you kiss him? just because you enjoyed having him around and he made you heart feel a bit weak and you wanted him to validate how smart you are? just because james always got your favorite treats from honeydukes, always asked his dad to make you cosmetic potions if you wanted, and he would always have a spare scarf and gloves when you forgot yours? and the ball finally fucking dropped for you both. you saw it in his eyes as he saw it in your tiny grin, but oh, you were not going to give this so easy to sirius, so you just crossed your arms over your chest, scoffed loudly and went straight to your dorm. sirius was happy to get you both to shut up at least. and he did find out a month later that when he was napping on the common room couch, james went to your dorm and did kiss you, and that was probably why all arguments had turned into just light banter, with flirty laughs and touches. james did have to learn to accept you were mostly always right, but he gained a gorgeous girlfriend, an infinite supply of kisses and the hottest make out sessions, so he got over it pretty quickly.

🔥 anything about sirius because i am being a little hater towards some characterisations too
i've already talked your ears off about this on discord but i'm happy to talk to about it again bc i fucking HATE new sirius black with a burning passion. i hate him as much as i love my sirius black that marauderstok can pry from my cold dead hands bc i'm not letting him go. i don't know when it happened and why but marauders fans are particularly persistent on taking away any interesting traits sirius had and leaving behind a whimpering pathetic twink that cries when someone looks at him the wrong way. sirius has been scrubbed clean of any morally grey traits he might've had (he's not allowed to care for his family (unless it's regulus) or long for them bc they are bad, he's not allowed to have any prejudices even though he was literally raised with pureblood mentality and taught he was superior to everyone else from the day he was born, he's not allowed to be an asshole bc he's not like his family guys!! and when he is an asshole it's always used to victimize the character he's being an asshole to and sirius is painted as the villain with mommy issues that can only be fixed by getting dicked down apparently)
i cannot stress this enough: LET THIS MAN BE A COMPLEX CHARACTER!! and no, giving him mental illnesses that miraculously disappear when he gets together with remus and making him attempt to kill himself post prank because he feels bad is NOT making him complex! you're just weird. you're just romanticizing mental illnesses and i can't believe you don't see anything wrong with it. giving him bipolar to justify his actions is?? not??? representation??? it's offensive to people who actually have to deal with these issues in their day to day lives and yet here you are using something that will impact their life forever as a plot device for your uwu sadboy mlm fanfic.
and that's what new sirius boils down to. he's a plot device, an accessory to everyone else's story that's never given much depth other than "oh his mom used the cruciatus on him and now he's traumatized". no hate to jegulus but hate to specific jegulus fics that turn sirius into an overdramatic caricature of his former self for the sake of drama and angst.
also, some of these wolfstar shippers... wtf are you guys on?? idk when and why (that's a lie i do but i'm not gonna say it) remus became sirius black in a werewolf costume but here we are. oh sirius was cool and effortlessly smart and handsome and girls wanted him? well guess what? snatches all of those character traits and throws them onto remus they're his character traits now. ignore how it doesn't make any sense for the werewolf child who was isolated from the rest of the world to be a smooth talking alpha casanova who plays basketball actually. while we're at it, ignore how unrealistic it is for a boy who was raised in a family that believed they were superior to everyone else based on blood status, who was raised to be the perfect heir and checked off all the traits needed to be one to be insecure?? and unsure of himself?? and stupid??? and a loser??? i don't understand what the point of flipping the wolfstar dynamic was when you're left with a shallow copy of the original but ok. you do you ig.
to summarize, my sirius is cool and effortlessly smart and egotistical and a complete asshole who thinks he's the best thing ever. is it an act to cover up how damaged he thinks he is because of his family? possibly. but i also fully believe sirius thought he was a god amongst men and everyone should be glad to be in his presence. he talked down to other people because he considered himself smarter, he rolled his eyes when students asked stupid questions and made fun of them when they got an answer wrong. he's a teenage boy let him be a dick with no excuses.
(also i find it funny when people write about sirius getting into a fight with james or remus and crying because they said something mean. as if sirius wouldn't throw hands the moment someone started criticizing him. he's toxic and that's what makes him interesting. that's his purpose! characters exist to make stories interesting, to start drama, not to be your moral guide on how to act. stories become so much more fun once you let go of the need to make every character a good person. also liking a character doesn't equal liking them as a person. i love sirius but i would hate his guts irl)

Day 25 - Prompt: Bad @wolfstarmicrofic
January Daily Series - 659 words
<<<Previous Part OR Start Here
Sirius shoved his way through the crowd with his gaze laser-focused on James’s dark, tousled curls. He needed an answer to this vitally important question right now and James was his moral compass. It was imperative that he check in before he made this decision.
“James!” he hissed, rushing to his best friend’s side. “Quick, what does it mean if I’m defending Remus to himself? Is that a bad sign?”
“What?”
Regulus glared from where he was snuggled under James’s chin. “It means you like him, which we already told you. Now, go tell him!”
“I wasn’t asking you.”
James sighed, then smoothed a hand over Regulus’s back. “He’s right though. You’re gone for him, mate. I don’t know why you’re defending him from himself, but that much I do know.”
“He was calling himself stupid and some other bullshite in Welsh I didn’t really understand, but was clearly ragging on himself and I couldn’t just stand there and let it go when-”
“Sirius!” Regulus snapped. “Go snog him and leave us alone.”
Sirius opened and closed his mouth twice before a frustrated whine left his throat entirely of its own volition. “But he’s from here and I live-”
“So what? It’s fine! Now go, you obnoxious git! Before he sorts out that you can’t tie your shoelaces without James’s approval.”
“That’s not true-”
James reached out and squeezed Sirius’s shoulder. “Really, Sirius. We’ll figure it out. See if this thing with Remus is worth it, then hash out the details later, yeah?”
“Yeah, alright.”
Sirius spun around and squared his shoulders. He could do this. James believed he could do this, so he definitely…probably…could?
“Go!” Regulus shouted, kicking his bum.
He stumbled forward, then shot a glare at his brother, but Regulus was fully snogging James now. Sirius grumbled under his breath before approaching his Herculean task. It shouldn’t be this hard to ask Remus on a date. The bloke practically admitted to liking him too, just not in those exact words.
Just walk over there, ask him to have a drink, and see where it goes. Easy. He might even get a cheeky snog himself for the effort, which he did want. Ever since their not-a-date lunch a few days ago, he’d thought about kissing Remus.
Then why do I feel like I’m about to pass out?
Remus was still awkwardly bopping in a sea of couples, exactly where Sirius left him. His brown beanie was askew after his fidgeting with it and a few of those honey-dipped curls were matted to the sweat on the back of his neck. More than anything, he wanted to yank that ugly hat off of his head and stroke his fingers through all of that hair.
He's not even fit, but I still want him. That has to mean something, right?
Sirius inhaled deeply, then marched toward Remus with the confidence that fled earlier marginally renewed. James said they would figure it out, and that was as good as a promise coming from him. He could do this. He could have something real for once.
“Remus,” he said, inwardly cursing at the waver in his voice. Sirius cleared his throat and tried again when he skidded to a halt in front of the bloke. “Remus. I like you and even though we live an obscene distance from each other, I’d like to try…this.” He waved a hand between them and chewed the inside of his cheek.
“This?” Remus blinked slowly as his brows furrowed.
Shite! How am I already fucking it up?
“Oh…erm, dating. If you want to, of course. I’m not assuming that you do, or anything. Just asking, sort of,” he blathered, face flushing deeper by the second.
Flirting was second nature for him, yet he’d lost every ounce of his charisma the moment those pale green eyes met his. Sirius never fell apart like this over a bloke. He could charm the pants off of anyone with little effort. Men, women, or otherwise, it didn’t matter.
What is wrong with me?

THE TRUTH ABOUT HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS
In the last few weeks, I've seen many arguments between the stans of different characters in the HP Fandom. And this, this exact post is about my opinion, mixed with canon (books) and how they normally should have been perceived.
This is part one of the series explaining the characters in the Harry Potter Universe. It will be long, seeing as many are hateful towards characters who did nothing wrong, or love them for all the wrong reasons.
Two big arguments will be explained in this post. Two biggest arguments about Anti-Character vs Pro-Character.
Tumblr media
Anti-Dumbledore vs Pro-Dumbledore;
Now, there are many people who are on the anti-Dumbledore side of the fandom, and I can understand why. It is not a surprise, considering what has been done by Dumbledore in the series.
However, Albus is one of the many-layered characters. He was a Blood Supremacist throughout his life, even as an adult, until his sister Ariana Dumbledore died.
He is, like many others, a flawed character, just like us real humans are. He was in love with Gellert Grindelwald (Which he has no fault in, you cannıot control who you fall in love with), and was willing to take the world under their control just because Gellert wanted to.
In the Marauders and Lightening Era timeline, he did many horrible things. He went as far as using Fudge to gain things to his favor, he used Severus and Harry, and even Remus and Sirius and Rubeus (Hagrid) as the events unfolded, and he even neglected other students while trying to control everything that he can, even though he is a HEADMASTER, a person who s supposed to keep the school's students safe. And the fact that he left Harry in the Dursleys' footsteps and not checking on him properly was disturbing, no matter if Arabella Figgs was there. He didn't care to check up properly.
He did all of that, yes. There is no arguing about it, it is in The Fantastic Beast, in the Harry Potter books, in the Secrets of Dumbledore, in the Crimes of Grindelwald. He did all of those things that nowadays seem impossible to do.
But- He also did good things. He accepted Remus into the school, albeit it was stupid of him to do so with only a place he can transform that he can break free easily if not strictly controlled. He accepted him because he wanted people like him to have a chance.
We even see another werewolf student in the game called Hogwarts Mystery, which I liked and enjoyed. He is not prejudiced against them, and it makes their life easier.
He gave Harry and other students support throughout their life at Hogwarts. It excluded Slytherins, sadly, but he did try to be a good role model and also tried to relieve the students from stress by doing things like canceling the exams and even saying seemingly ridiculous words during the meals. He was truly afraid that Ginny was taken into the chamber, it is obvious in the CoS book when Lucius paid a visit to Albus.
He supported the adults like Alastor and Kingsley and Tonks, warned Sirius and the like against doing things that could be dangerous for their lives. He did care about them. Even, I'm sure, Marlene and Dorcas had a place in his heart because he does everything to help them win the war and live in peace.
Tumblr media
Anti-Snape vs Pro Snape;
Severus Snape, like Albus, is a many-layered character. He is defensive and strict and is a bully throughout his adulthood. He is brave and courageous, stubborn and selfless.
Snape is not dark or light. He is not black or white. He is a Morally-Grey character through and through. There is no arguing against that.
Severus as a kid has done nothing wrong. The argument of him being obsessed with Lily when he was NINE is a very wrong thing to say. He was, as explained in the Pottermore likely abused by his father who was a drunkard, and from the writing in the books, his mother was likely neglectful as well. A kid who has gone through that will not have good social skills, or know how to talk to anyone politely. The fact that he is living in a dark neighborhood is probably an aspect of this as well.
He used accidental magic on Petunia, and he had no fault in it just like Harry had no fault when he deflated his aunt. Petunia insulted his mother, just like Marge insulted Lily. He had no control over his emotions, and thus, the accidental magic is not him being a hater.
During the train ride, all he said was he wanted to be in Slytherin. Why? Who knows, maybe his mother was sorted there and he wanted to feel closer to her. James and Sirius immediately attacked him with their words after that. Again, he is a kid. An 11 years old kid. He did not have a fault in that.
During his years at Hogwarts, he faced many more of the Marauder's bullying. And, yes, it was bullying, J.K Rowling said it, in the books even Harry thinks it is bullying, and Sirius accepts that fairly easily.
In his fifth year at Hogwarts, he is a fifteen-year-old and Sirius is 16 years old, Sirius sent him down the Willow Tree in the full moon. Why? Of that, I have a few theories but we don't know if any of them are true. He sent him down there on a FULL MOON, where Remus transformed, wanting to get a laugh of it.
He was almost killed, but saved by his enemy James Potter at the last second. He was forced to keep shut about this, which definitely added to his many traumas throughout his life. He was punished while he was the definite victim in this situation, along with Remus who was used by his best friend.
After this werewolf prank, it is obvious that the bullying got worse. It is probably because the Marauders had to do something to not let their friendship crumble, and blaming the whole situation on the victim, who is someone they hate or at the very least dislike seemed a good idea in their eyes. And thus, Snape's Worst Memory happened.
Lily and Severus' relationship was already falling apart by the fifth year. After the prank, they confronted each other and talked about the things they witnessed.
It is very disturbing how Severus did not care that Mulciber and Avery used dark magic on an innocent Gryffindor called Mary MacDonald. However, he also points out that the Marauders used a hex to grow Bertham Abrey's, a Slytherin's head grow his head twice its size. It is not Dark Magic, but clearly illegal. This hows that Marauders bullied everyone they could from Slytherin, and Sirius even admitted that himself.
Both of them are set in their ways. Lily doesn't acknowledge that Severus has to spend time with the Slytherins as he is a Slytherin himself. And Severus doesn't acknowledge that using Dark Magic to harm others is disturbing when others use Light Spells to hurt others instead, not realizing that both of them are wrong.
In SWM Lily definitely doesn't do everything she can do, along with Remus. They both are prefects but Remus stood back, and Lily only confronted the Marauders, not bothering to inform a professor at the very least.
Severus was very wrong in saying Mudblood to Lily. Sure, he was under a lot of stress, and he is a Half-Blood so the term also applies to him, but it was the last damage to crumble the wall of friendship the two had between them. But he did not deserve to get his trousers to get taken down and get threatened to be stripped completely. That was sexual assault, and no one deserves that.
After all of that, he apologized and left Lily alone. He was not obsessed with her. I'm sorry, but no one is saying that you cannot love a person who is in another relationship. It is not a crime, and he didn't even tell Lily about his feelings. (And I do not believe that 'feelings' were romantic. It was most definitely platonic, It is written like one, and the strong lesson the HP Series has is the power of Love.)
He went Dark after graduating, but when he discovered that he was going to be the cause of his ex-best friend's death he deflected quickly. I do not understand how people find this creepy. Regulus 'deflected' (not fully) for Kreacher, Narcissa, and Lucius for Draco and Albus for Ariana.
He agreed to be a spy for Albus and took a Vow to completely submit himself to a cause he had not yet believed completely in. After Lily's death, his life was devoted to protecting Harry.
He was a bully during his adult years. Now, it is mostly because traumatized people act mature, but their mentality goes backward, and the proper age of becoming fully mature comes later on. With his state, it would be at the very earliest when he was 53 that he would be fully mature, but it is also because he cannot let go of the past and heal from it.
He treated Harry and Neville horribly when not in class. And in class, he was strict with everyone. Even the others were the victim of his bad attitude.
However, no matter how mean he wanted his students to be safe. He protected Harry because of the Vow, that is true, however, he also protected and attempted to protect every other student, like the time he was worried for Ginny when he was taken into the Chamber.
He was a shitty person with a shitty backstory. He had no control over his emotions when he was with Harry, and bullied him because of his looks leaning towards James. It was not acceptable, and he was most definitely a bully, but he was not an abuser.
He despised physical punishments and refrained from physically attacking others, and the only exception was when Harry invaded his privacy when he looked into the pensieve.
He truly believed in the reasoning of the Light after all those years under the Vow. When it was clear that Harry was going to die no matter what he did, he did not go off to Voldemort to give him the secrets Dumbledore told him, no, he tried to protect his students and aided Harry secretly to destroy the Hocruxes.
He died a hero. Without him, the first Wizarding War would be won by Voldemort and everyone would be at Riddle's service to torture or kill or use. If he was loyal to Voldemort, the Battle of Hogwarts would end up with Voldemort truly killing Harry, and the whole fate was on his shoulders.
He is the bravest man throughout the series. He is a Hero, He is an Anti-Hero, he is an awesome spy, he is a bully, he is bitter, he is selfless, he is stubborn, he is loyal, and he is many more combined together.
He is not a villain, and he is not an evil reincarnate of a Nazi. He is a good person with bad doings. He is not innocent but he definitely deserved to be both praised and put down for all of the things he did.

As I promised the lovely @lucy-andreas here’s a list of my favorite jegulus fics. Be warned, it’s a weird mix all around:
1. One Thousand Wildflower Fields by ThisLiminalSpace
James is a good citizen. He pays his taxes, waves at his neighbours, remembers his mother’s birthday, works on things and stuff on the Internet like any other human in this day and age, and certainly has never been involved in anything illegal.
Well.
There is a first time for everything.
Notes: no-magic, abo au where omegas weren’t allowed out of the house until recently. Regulus deals with his new found freedom by fighting in illegal rings. James deals… not. Completed.
2. Of Pinstripes And Potions by pansysnarkinson
When James wakes up, his head is pounding. He can’t remember drinking anything, but supposes he must have because it feels like he’s been hit square between the eyes with a bludger. He’s never been one to get hungover, but he knows this is what it’s supposed to feel like. Although, come to think of it, he doesn’t remember celebrating their victory on the pitch, isn’t completely sure they had one at all. The last thing he remembers is turning to look to the stands, revelling in the roars of his fellow Gryffindors, certain that they were going to beat Hufflepuff. Then, he turned and… was hit square between the eyes with a bludger.
Now he’s stuck in the hospital wing, and the bed next to his is occupied by none other than Regulus Black.
Notes: not much to say about this one. Very light as far as jegulus in Hogwarts goes. Completed.
3. James Potter's Application to Court Regulus Black by MiriamMT
“Hello and welcome, my name is James Potter and this is my presentation on ‘Why I should be allowed to date Regulus Black’.”
* * *
When James asks for Sirius' blessing for his and Regulus' relationship, Sirius insists on a formal application and a presentation on why he deserves to be with his little brother.
Notes: hilarious and very fluffy. It’s a one shot and there isn’t much going on in the background. Completed.
4. the golden king by maladaptivewriting
When Regulus Black woke up in 1991 after he was supposed to die twelve years prior, he realized two things. One, the locket he had worked so hard to steal had never been destroyed so the Dark Lord was still alive. And two, Harry Potter, James Potter's son, was in danger.
OR
Regulus goes to school with the Golden Trio.
Notes: one of my favorite Regulus-survives-the-cave fics. Also one of my favorite jegulus fics in general. Follows the golden trio + de-aged Regulus as they go to Hogwarts, and how Regulus’ influence changes things. James may or may not be dead, though he is definitely present. It’s complicated. Ongoing, but has steady updates.
5. All you need is love by touchlikethesun
James Potter is so helplessly in love with Regulus Black. And miraculously Regulus loves him back. And in the end, isn't that all that matters?
Notes: morally gray James. It explains most of what happens here. It gets pretty dark at some point, but I personally love me a Death Eather!James Potter when done right. And this one is definitely done right. Hopeful Ending? Ambiguous Ending? Something like that. Surprisingly, the only steady relationship is jegulus. Everything else is a mess, as Marauders tend to be. Completed.
6. my almost lover by alarainai and salmon_says
“If I was dating Regulus, I would have noticed.”
A pause. His friends all stare at him with various levels of disbelief. Suddenly, he feels very stupid.
“Are you sure?” Remus asks.
Regulus and James are a couple. James is the last person to realise this.
Notes: fluffy and funny. Very light, almost no angst considering the canon material we have to work with. James is a very lovable idiot as per usual. Completed.
7. quite like us by alarainai and salmon_says
[18:12] Seriously, wrong number. Don’t send shirtless pictures to strangers.
[18:13] Padfoot, this rejection hurts.
[18:16] What’s a Padfoot?
[18:17] Wait, is this actually not Padfoot?
[18:19] I don’t even know what that is, but no. I’m not a Padfoot.
Notes: modern au with a wrong number situation. Strangers to lovers, very cute all around with a healthy doze of panic and angst (but nothing too terrible). Completed.
8. Only the Brave by Solmussa
Regulus Black is angry. He wants revenge. He wants to watch the world burn for all it's done to him. He also wants to make out with James Potter, but that's a secret he'll take to the grave. Vengeance is more important than... whatever it is that chokes him when he lays eyes on Potter.
James Potter is confused, because Regulus Black is, all of a sudden, hot. And it's unfair because Sirius is going to kill him if he doesn't get his impulse control in line.
OR
A fic about two idiots falling in love (x2 because there's wolfstar, too) during a war, and the sacrifices they'll have to make to survive it.
Notes: one of the best jegulus fics I’ve read in my life. Gut wrenching, soul shattering angst. It’ll make you cry at five in the morning while contemplating your decisions and at four in the afternoon, also contemplating your decisions. The fluff will kill you, as will the hurt/comfort and the happy ending. Everything in this fic is designed to hurt, but you’ll thank the author because it’s all worth it in the end. A monster with more than 600k worth of words so thread with caution if you’re thinking of starting this at night like I did. Other than that, put on your seatbelt because you’re in for a ride. Completed.
9. Mastermind (Love Made Me Crazy) by MiriamMT
Regulus is consumed by bitterness and pain after his brother Sirius ran away from home, and he blames James Potter for taking him away.
Seeking revenge, he plots to take James away from Sirius. But what starts as a means of vengeance quickly turns into a tumultuous affair, and Regulus finds himself falling in love. Passion and desire turn into feelings and the wish to do and be better for James.
But, as he navigates his complex feelings for James, a dark wizard rises to power, seeking to gain followers among the Hogwarts students. Trapped between duty and love, Regulus is forced to confront his fears, as he tries to protect those he cares about.
Notes: the only reason this didn’t break me the same way Only the Brave did is because it’s half its size. Which is still an impressive 300k worth of words, but you don’t spend wallowing in despair as long. I can promise a happy ending but at what cost? Completed.
10. i regret you all the time by inevitablestars
What happens when James falls for Regulus and his friends lose their trust in him?
Notes: deceptively short summary. I still haven’t finished this one out of sheer fear of how much it’ll break me. I never do MCD or canon compliant fics when it comes to jegulus but the Death Eather!James Potter tag seduced me. I regret it all the time (pun intended) but at the same time I don’t. Can’t say how it ends because I still haven’t gotten the courage to read the last chapter but… thread with caution and keep a pair of tissues near you. Completed.
11. glimpses of heaven by lunahunt
In the aftermath of the prank, James Potter is at an all time low. He can barely look at Sirius, Remus’s dad is keeping him locked up all summer, and Lily Evans hates him even more than usual.
In an effort to get James out of the house, Euphemia signs her son up for a summer Quidditch program with the famous Josef Wronski—seeker for the Grodzisk Goblins and inventor of the Wronski Feint.
The last person James expects to see there is Regulus Black.
[slow ish burn jegulus fic beginning the summer after the marauders fifth year and continuing through the rest of their years at hogwarts] [not canon compliant (aka everyone won’t die)]
Notes: one of the best James characterizations I’ve ever read. The author makes him so inherently flawed and human and it’s wonderful. Post Prank Angst, of course. My only regret reading this is that it’s incomplete, though I still harbor hope that the author will update again.
12. Crimson Rivers by bizarrestars
Regulus Black was fifteen the first time his name was called at a reaping. He's twenty-five when it happens to him again. A lot has changed in that time, and one of them is that he's ready to do whatever it takes to make it home. Nothing or no one will stop him, not even James Potter.
James Potter has no plans to stop Regulus Black from making it home. In fact, his plans revolve around the opposite. He has his reasons, but he's made his choice to get Regulus out of the arena, even knowing it'll be the last thing he ever does.
Sirius Black was sixteen when he volunteered to take his little brother's place in the arena. At twenty-six, without the option to do it again, he has no choice but to be a mentor to his brother and best friend, knowing that only one of them can make it back out.
Two names called, a mentor on the verge of falling apart, and more secrets and grief between all of them than they know how to handle. None of them are prepared for what comes next, or how far they'll go to make it through.
Notes: is it really a jegulus fic rec list if I don’t recommend CR, aka the best jegulus fic of all times? No it’s not, so here it is, the best jegulus fic I’ve read. The Hunger Games au, with aged-up characters. Promises a happy ending but at what cost? Prepare to bawl, scream, look blankly at your wall, laugh and fall in love with this pair of idiots as they fight for their lives. Surprisingly, not everyone dies, and there is a happy ending. There’s pretty graphic depictions of violence though, so thread carefully. It’s a 865k words monster fic (longer than the Bible!) but it really doesn’t feel that long when you’re desperate to see what happens next. I don’t recommend reading this if you’re planning on stopping for long periods of time, though be ready to feel emotionally drained afterwards because this one is the definition of a rollercoaster. You have to have an account to see this work. Completed.
13. just lovers (like we were supposed to be) by bizarrestars
Regulus closes his eyes and shakes his head again, looking pained, then he opens them and sighs. "And your solution to this is me? Pretending to be my boyfriend?"
"Yeah. It's actually bloody brilliant, if you think about it. Everyone will leave happy. I'm going to fake date my way into falling in love," James announces grandly, sticking his hand out and waving it through the air like he's presenting a banner.
***
Or, the one in which James Potter wants to prove he'd be a good boyfriend to Lily Evans and comes up with the brilliant plan to fake date Regulus Black his way into falling in love. It doesn't quite go as anyone expects.
Task failed...successfully?
Notes: no Voldemort au, fake dating trope, angst with a happy ending. As always, Zar delivers complete masterpieces. Also one of my favorite jegulus fics of all times. The angst, thankfully, is not of the life or death variety, which is refreshing in this fandom. You’ll suffer, but you’ll be happy about it. You have to have an account to see this work. Completed.
14. By Your Heart's Calm Strength by pansysnarkinson
Nobody knows who started the fire at Grimmauld Place.
Some people swear it was Sirius, hell-bent on taking revenge on an unloving family.
Others swear it was Regulus, gone mad like other Blacks before him.
The only thing James Potter knows is that the mystery is occupying far more of his mind than is healthy.
Notes: I read this a long time ago but I remember being bamboozled when I did. James slowly discovers the truth of what happened at Grimmauld Place, and falls in love with Regulus along the way. Fluff and angst, of course. Completed.
15. Carpe Noctem by evareinadeescocia
Golden boy,
Lion boy;
Tell me what it’s like to conquer.
Fearless child,
Broken boy;
Tell me what it’s like to burn.
(...)
In which a very nosy James Potter notices that every weekend, when everyone falls asleep, Regulus Black sneaks into an abandoned fifth-floor classroom, and he can't help but try to find out what the little Black is up to.
Notes: another one of my all time favorites. Enemies to lovers, secret relationship, standard jegulus fic. This one has Seer!Regulus, which is both very important and at the same time not relevant at all. Non canon compliant and a promised happy ending which is the only reason I read it because at the time it looked too similar to Choices and I don’t touch canon compliant fics with a ten feet pole. A 680k word monster, it’s currently on hiatus but I strongly believe the author will come back to finish it. Every time I think about it I consider giving it a reread.
16. Finders Keepers by jeggie_toast
"Bloody hell," he murmured. "I really fancy you, Reggie."
It sounded like music, coming from James' lips; a piece that Regulus would like to listen to for the rest of his life.
"...I fancy you, too."
A slow-burn, canon-compliant fic documenting the relationship between James Potter and Regulus Black - from the first time they officially meet, throughout the development of their friendship and eventual romance, right to the moment it all ends. Lots of fluff, no smut :)
*FOR THOSE WHOSE HEARTS CAN'T TAKE CANON-COMPLIANCY* - Stop reading at Chapter 99, then go read my Happy Ending Au: He Is!
Notes: to be completely honest, I did not read the last chapters and skipped to the Happy Ending Au so I have no idea how it ends in canon compliant. I can take a guess though. As usual with jegulus fics, you’ll suffer but you’ll be happy about it. The Happy Ending Au is pretty great. Completed.
17. blue and yellow skies by alarainai and salmon_says
#starchaser is trending.
Regulus Black ✓ @littleking
Why is this a thing? I don't even like Potter.
James Potter ✓ @jfprongs
Replying to @littleking
He's lying. We're desperately in love.
Regulus Black ✓ @littleking
Replying to @jfprongs
die :)
Quidditch Rivals turned Quidditch Lovers. That's what the world sees them as, at least.
Too bad Regulus hates James Potter's guts, and James? Well, it doesn't matter what he feels about their definitely fake, definitely emotionless relationship.
Notes: no Voldemort, modern technology meets magic, professional Quidditch au. Enemies to lovers (though are they enemies if they were in love with each other already?), fake dating trope. Fluff with the appropriate angst dosis, amazing happy ending. Completed.
I know there’s many other fics that are considered must reads for the fandom, but they’re either canon compliant or have MCD, so I haven’t read them, nor will I ever read them. I’ll still leave the links in case someone is interested, but I won’t give any descriptions.
1. Choices by MesserMoon (Canon-Compliant).
2. Art Heist, Baby! by otrtbs (Tagged MCD, the only one of these I may read if I ever find the courage).
3. The Heart of a Lion by orphan_account (Canon-Compliant and Tagged MCD).
Other must reads I have not read yet, so I won’t be giving any descriptions. I’ll still leave the links though.
1. Falls by vantelk
2. pink lemonade by moonysbookshelf
3. Best Friend's Brother by bizarrestarts (needs an account to read)
4. when you were mine by sequinhaze (needs an account to read)
5. The Blood In Your Mouth by moonysmirrorball

imo it's not so hard to accept that SWM takes place after the prank. I mean it is canon so too bad but it makes complete sense to me. there's no evidence the prank was some big life-altering character development moment for any of the characters involved and that they all learnt their various lessons. in fact we see that they don't. in SWM the marauders are clearly still tormenting Sev. In Sev's conversation with Lily post-prank he's still just as obsessed with the marauders and exposing their secrets as ever, if not more. he doesn't consider what lily's saying at all because he's too focused on his hatred towards them.
my hc is that sirius (rather masterfully) used reverse psychology on sev to get him to go down the willow. Sev isn't stupid, he wouldn't have let himself willingly be led into a trap by his worst enemies. I think Sirius probably "let it slip" and then "backtracked" and acted like Snape wouldn't be brave enough to go down there anyway and that he should just forget it. I doubt Sirius directly told him to go down the willow, I think cleverly he told him not to, knowing that Sev would do so anyway (not that this makes a difference ethically bc his intent is still clear, but anyway. this isn't about who is morally better because idgaf honestly lol, I'm just trying to work through their mindsets)
the marauders received no real consequences for the prank, so why would they learn their lesson? Objectively you can't really punish someone for telling someone not to do something if they do it anyway. Not particularly fair, but still. Which brings me to Sev's responsibility in the matter (which yes, does exist imo) we're shown that he was obsessed with finding out what the marauders were up to and particularly obsessed with Remus's secret. Yes, this is understandable given how they treated him, but absolutely not healthy and he still chose to go down there, whether out of pride, greed, curiousity, vindictiveness. He obv was manipulated but there's a reason he was so easily manipulated. As I said previously, his obsession with revenge is what causes him to be blind to lily's feelings.
James rescuing him wasn't some moment of epiphany about how bullying is bad actually. It was just a fundamental part of James's character already. He would never have let him die regardless of how he felt about him.
All of this makes SWM the PEAK moment of hatred between Sev and the Marauders, which explains a lot of their responses. Sirius and James hate Sev more than ever for trying to expose Remus. Sev, justifiably, hates them more than ever for trying to kill him (and he ropes James into this, which is incorrect but understandable in his position)
James "deflating his head" probably wasn't just based on one event in particular. He just grew up and learned what was more important- being a good person, fighting against voldemort. But Sev also had growing up to do of his own during this time. As I talked about in in this post yesterday I think post-swm Sev was beginning to realise that his lack of control over his emotional responses (calling lily a mudblood out of humiliation, for example) was dangerous both to lily and to himself.
Yeah they still hated each other and attacked each other in seventh year. There's too much bad blood there to do anything else. I've talked about the dynamic between Sev and James here and how that might have developed as they grew older. I honestly find it extremely interesting, I could go on about these two for hours rip. My point is that the development of these characters into adults wasn't instant or linear, it was messy and rough. people don't usually change overnight, it happens slowly over time because they have to.

My anime fanfic opinions cause I’ve been wrting fanfics since I was like 15 and been in fandom spaces longer than that.
If the shoe fits;
The anime fanfic community is not a safe space for black women. Because if it was, all the callouts we experienced this year would not have happened. They were showing signs.
Minors don’t respect the mdni and any minor who interacts with smut is putting the writer at risk of jail time. You’re not smart or mature for doing that. You are actually, a fool.
The KOSA act will affect all of us very soon because other countries will take cue  it’s not just a US problem.
Remember how fucking ableist the tokyo revengers fandom used to be? Especially with that stupid vegetable joke during the first timeline when Mikey was in a vegetative state? Yeah, I’m not letting that go, you guys were and are disgusting.
Leave plugfic writers alone. You don’t go for other races for writing a mafia overlord who violently murders every one. I wonder why? (Racism)
It’s very easy for a white author to say “no discourse” on their blog because the only thing they have to worry about is an anon shitting on their writing. POC authors ESPECIALLY black authors can’t really have that privilege because they’ll tell you to:
Tumblr media
yeah. We’re always dragged into discourse
Dark content is not a moral failing.
If you defend shota or loli or defend anyone who was caught with shota or loli, you should be put on an FBI watchlist.
Remember when we used to have long fandom attention spans and didn’t throw them in the dustbin as soon as season 1 was over? Yeah bring those back please.
If you go on tiktok shitting on fanfic writers. In fact just shitting on writers in general you don’t deserve to be part of the community. We carry this shit on our backs.
Croquette or soft reader =/= class. Some of you are very uncouth, classless and crass.
SatoSugu shippers are getting irritating to me now. No the story does not revolve around them. Idc if your ship did not make a cameo in the new chapter there are other characters in the damn manga.
Jjk does not have bad female characters or hate women. Gege Akutami hates everyone because almost everyone is dead. Except his pookie Sukuna.
Boruto is not a bad manga. It’s mediocre but it’s not bad. We get it. NaruSasu wasn’t the end game. It’s been 20 years, drop it.
Also if we’re using the same logic NaruSasu is as toxic as SasuSaku.
SatoSugu shippers are the new BakuDeku and NaruSasu shippers; Misogynistic and violently homophobic/transphobic (minus BakuDeku shippers for this one)
Many Sakura fans on tiktok in 2020 were extremely racist. They still are.
JJK girls, and especially Gojo girlies on tumblr are the second most irritating set of people ever, first are the dudebros. You mass report non Gojo fics and you harrass any non JJK writer on here. We know it's you don't hide.
Chainsaw man is actually good. It just has a lot of female characters in comparsion to male characters so you guys don’t really care. Tatsuki Fujimoto is for the cringe fail girls.
You people can excuse Hisoka and Naoya but start barking when someone mentions Makima or Meimei. If you’re gonna holla, bark at all of them or shut up.
We need more Yuri in the anime community. Idc about Yaoi anymore tumblr.
People who write for the following should get a nice sloppy toppy or a nice hot meal: Nanami Kento, Kusabe Atsuya, Choso Kamo, Higuruma Hiromi any and all one piece men, Naohya and Souya Kawata, Shion Madarame etc.
Anyone who does this kind of post:
“He kisses you and cums” or nsfw link
toji, mikey, GOJO SATORU, GETOU SUGURU, adventurine, beelzeebub, simon ghost riley, nanami kento, whitney the bully, remus lupin, childe, MIGUEL O’HARA, cillian murphey, shuji hanma, ujishima, tendou, osamu, isagi, oliver aiku + more
Is lazy asf and should not be rewarded for bad behaviour. Stop clogging the tags. These are so lazy without any effort or thought put into them.
If you don’t reblog fics, especially as a fanfic writer and you ask “where are all the fluff fics” you deserve any hate you get and you should be blocked.
I’m tired. I’ll continue next week.
*edited a few things.

Reason why we can hate Snape but still like Barty, Evan, and Regulus
We have canon info on Snape, we know that he willingly joined Voldy-Moldy, he just left *after* he gave the noseless b!tch the profecy that *he* discovered only because of his unhealthy obsession with Lily. He bullied kids, he bullied his 'lOvE oF HiS LiFe' ' son, he is Nevilles *worst fear*, the same boy that got his parents t0rture to insanity by Bellatrix !
But for our Slytherin Skittle/Pantheon, we know basically nothing ! Exept about Barty, that he, long story short, did this to piss of his abuse father that put him under the impero charm for a whole ass *decade*, and that he also participated to the t0rture of Neville's parents (that I do not condeme ! t0rture is bad if they are innocent people !) But we also know that he treated Nevilee right when he was Moody, he teached the students how to resist the Imperius curse, he was with Remus the best DADA teacher Harry's generation actually had ! So, yes bad guy indeed. But not fully a bad guy. Extremely morally grey. But not a piece of shit like Snape.
Evan Rosier. We only know that he died giving Moody the loss of a leg and an eye, and... That's all. We don't know his hogwarts house, we don't know shit about him. So for all we know, he could have been forced into being a death eater. Because, let's recap. He is a Rosier, a pure blooded family that is closed to the Black family, since Druella, Bellatrix's mother, married Cygnus. So they are obviously for the 'Dark Lord' BS. And we know that these families are not above forcing kids into their agenda. So, Evan ? we can fancy him.
Ah. Time for our dear Reggie. Regulus Arcturus Black, that we know about... Nothing. What we do know : he loves Kreacher, he went vigilente, he was the yougest DE until Draco became one at 16, he tries to find the Horcruxes, he was in the Quidditch team, and the Slug Club, he was a great student and potioneer, and Sirius qualified him as a stupid boy that 'believed his parents'. Okay so that means that he was a death eater willingly ! But, oh wait ! Sirius ran away at 16 ! So he doesn't know if his little brother *actually* became a death eater willingly or not. I think that our Reggie could have choose to be one, so Sirius could be as safe as someone can be at that time, but clearly, he wasn't following Voldy's BS. Because you know what ? Knowing about Horcruxes takes *time* and ressources, and books, you don't wake up one day and say 'well, why not find that locket located [...]' ! Ehh... No we don't. So he had to be against Voldy *before* he mistreated Kreacher, which, to people, is the only reason he wanted to defeat the so called dArK LoRd.
That was my ted talk, thanks for reading me, and please, if you don't agree, don't attack me, just explain your pov calmly and nicely, with respect, thank you !

Love is a Losing Game | Remus Lupin
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Remus held your glare with softness. Its intent wasn’t to make you squirm, but it had. You wanted to fight, a reason to retaliate. But Remus knew you well, understood you still, and knew what it meant to distance yourself with well-earned vexation.
Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid
PAIRING: Remus Lupin x f!reader
WORD COUNT: 2K
WARNINGS: semi-enemies-to-lovers, semi-forced proximity, morally grey reader, mutual pining, slow burn, adult Remus, drinking, swearing, canon-typical things, etc.
A/N: Oop, not me using another Amy Winehouse song as a title. Anyways, Remus has been On My Mind. I wanted angst and this is where I ended up. Enjoy.
TAGS: @kalllistos @sp1rit-realm
“Answer the question.”
The brief and concise statement thrown at you mimicked the ones prior. Your reluctance to answer was anticipated; everyone seated before the Wizengamot reacted similarly. But the jury surrounding you didn’t have the same empathy for you.
“The answer is obvious, isn’t it?” You were oddly relaxed in the stiff wooden seat. The eyes on you hadn’t made you nervous but rather energized your subtle rage. “Or is our system that dull? Have you truly failed to see who is behind this?”
“Be mindful; your responses have repercussions.” The interrogator warned. His position saved you from a scornful vote against your innocence. Yet, those who looked on weren’t too far off. “Were you or were you not in possession of a time-turner?”
Of course, I was, you thought. The framing of your trial was spectacular. All evidence was vindictive, and the story was so perfectly skewed there was no way to worm your way out. Your fate was already sealed.
“You lot ask the wrong questions.” Your laugh was bitter.
“Your admission. Only.” His patience was running thin, his politeness only formality as his tone opposed it entirely.
The truth was a volatile thing. Children were taught that it was essential in life, valued so highly that corrupt justice could manipulate it so finely that you almost believed it yourself. Lying, therefore, became a habit. It came naturally as if second-hand nature.
The twitch of your lip was poisonous. “Guilty.”
The crowd murmured at your feigned candor. The whispers were silly, as anonymity never existed for those wearing plum-colored robes. Every face was bared, burned into your memory by resentment.
It happened more often than you liked—where your breath drew in tightly, and your eyes shot open as if searching your environment for more air. The air always felt stolen. At times, it was.
Rarely did it happen when it was still light out. It was a mistake to fall asleep so openly.
“You alright?” Remus perked from his book, cautious enough not to cause a scene but aware enough to know you weren’t. His attentiveness made you nauseous.
Ignoring him no longer led to guilt. You viewed it as self-preservation. It was the only selfish act you could take in your condition. You’d be stupid not to exercise your only right.
Pushing yourself from the loveseat, you noticed how the fire had grown from the small ember you started. The cold was getting to you only due to how well-suited Remus seemed for it. His home was characteristically quaint, more inviting than you could ever be.
It wasn’t supposed to happen this way, but fate was never on your side.
“Is it the same dream?” Remus pushed lightly. His attempts at your vulnerability were in vain. It had been weeks, and you’d yet to budge.
You pulled your neck until it popped. You didn’t speak until there weren’t any more joints left to crack. “You know, Lupin…” You were setting him up for failure. “...You consider us the same…”
Remus’ mannerisms were predictable; they suited him well. They were an extension of his character that only caused a chain reaction in you, with his middle finger covering his lip to hide his growing smile, his pointer, and thumb balanced on his jaw and chin.
Even he looked inviting.
Remus’ posture shifted, placing the book beside him with no need of a bookmark as the pages frayed with favoritism. Your fingers twitched with curiosity to trace every word as if it were an exploration of his mind. Yet, you were far too preoccupied with his smirk, ready to welcome a challenge.
“I’ll bite.” His tongue had been sharpened since you were children. You were cut from the same cloth.
“The skeletons in our closest are almost—” Maybe your exhaustion had caught up to you, jumbling your words that they didn’t even make sense to you. “—interchangeable. Sure.”
Remus hummed, wholly amused by your shrug.
“Yet, there’s something that is distinct, something you conveniently overlook.” You matched his hum, the miming childish but necessary for the pageant you created.
Amusement shifted to confusion. Perhaps it was your newfound voice or the pent-up anger that came with it. It was calculated and wild.
“Remus J. Lupin, the reluctant hero…” You tutted with tender sarcasm. A hand rest above your heart, the same way the elderly read the headline that exploited your name, “...how kind of you to pity a recluse like me… if only you could show me the way…”
“You ridicule empathy as if—
“Empathy—” The word was sharp, foreign on your tongue. “Empathy will get you killed.”
Remus held your glare with softness. Its intent wasn’t to make you squirm, but it had. You wanted to fight, a reason to retaliate. But Remus knew you well, understood you still, and knew what it meant to distance yourself with well-earned vexation.
Therefore, he moved slowly. The book returned to its place in his makeshift library. The fire was tended to with a quick glance. Remus stood beside you, not close enough to inflict discomfort but near enough for you to hear how his softness permeated through into words.
“Then, I am a dead man walking.”
Your dreams—nightmares—always stopped before your sentencing—when Dumbledore was called as the final witness. Your verdict was felt as you were hoisted from your seat, dragged through a crowd that believed you were let off too easily, another questioning attribute of Dumbledore’s sanity.
Procure her wand. Dumbledore shrugged, appealing to half the court. Even then, you droned out the conversation knowing how he was skilled at manipulating a room with innate cheekiness.
However, you were drained, any resistance becoming a luxury. Your wand was snapped before a cheering crowd; your mind went blank in reaction to the resonation. You were no longer your own; that much you took away.
There forward, the memory continued hazily; the only evidence of consciousness was the photo before you. Taunting you.
The flash made you squint, distorting your frown into a grimace. It was unflattering, as were all of the Daily Prophet photos. Your hands were preoccupied, one finding solace on your necklace, a nervous habit you never tried to shake—never truly noticed until Remus had.
The other, reaching forward with an instinctual drive. The repetition of the photo missed the moment of impact. But you recognized the hand reaching back for yours, the littering of scars a sincere giveaway. Dumbledore invited him, knowing you would never ask Remus to be there yourself.
If you stared long enough, you swore you remembered how the connection led you to safety.
The consequence of the memory always led to liquor. Remus knew about your small stockpile but never addressed it. He learned you favored wine. Although what you procured was cheap, its tangy sweetness invited mischief and mended the faint heartache. It was a dangerous game to play with the soft jazz that wafted from downstairs.
You caught yourself humming; the tune played so frequently that you caught on. It was a reliable tune. Attached was a perfected image; Remus fighting sleep with a dwindling cigarette sucked on every offbeat.
Just as imagined, Remus’ head rested back, eyes closed. His wrist was limp on the arm of the couch, cigarette dangling dangerously close to the fabric. Beside him was the script-filled letter he’d only just put down that you’d already memorized.
“What did he want?” Your voice covered the distance as you weren’t yet ready to inch forward. Remus heard the groan of the old stairs as you snuck down. You rarely left your room once the sun set, but you’d excuse your presence for a search of warmth.
It was endearing the way Remus’ head lulled to meet your eye. “You’ve already read it.”
“Professor Lupin.” You teased. Your intoxication compelled you. “Sounds nice.”
“You’re making me blush.” His words were muffled with another drag. The smoke framed his face, drawing you in. He didn’t smoke often, so you knew nerves formed the habit.
“You’ll do well.” Your kindness was premeditated. Although you blocked the guilt, your subconscious couldn’t. And now words tumbled from your mouth, slurring just barely. “Be careful.”
“I’m sure I’ll manage ten-year-olds.” He eyed you as you moved to sit across from him. He took your uncharacteristic chattiness in stride.
You shook your head, revealing the concern that etched your features, “You know that’s not what I mean.”
The fire crackling filled the lull. The house felt different the past few days. It was obvious what rippled through the air. It caused panic in every household. Every outlet in every house was filled with the news.
Black still at large
Sirius Black, possibly the most infamous prisoner ever to be held in Azkaban fortress, is still eluding capture, the Ministry of Magic confirmed today.
Black is mad. He's a danger to anyone who crosses him, magic or Muggle.
Have you seen this wizard?
Remus appreciated the opportunity you provided him to dismiss your comment with another.
“I’m going to throw a party while you're gone. Really wreck the place.”
His eyes crinkled with light laughter. It bubbled at your teasing. It made you shy, like you’d said something wrong, gone too far, and lost your defensive bravado.
“C’mere.” Remus beckoned you. His eyes tracked you carefully as you stood again. Your lack of hostility felt refreshing, but your steps forward gave away your stupor. But you were intentional, bumping your knee against his.
With the barely-there tangling of limbs, you plucked the cigarette balanced on his lips. The smoke reached deep within your lungs, eliciting a soothing cough. “Never was one for these.”
Remus’ arm grazed past you, fabric provoking friction as he reached for the letter. His body moved with an ache that he couldn’t seem to shake. You noticed it in all his actions; even small movements reminded him of his burden. You restrained yourself from reaching out to support the weight that ought to be off his left side. He managed, but it wasn't enough.
“Go on, hold it out…” He nodded to the impending roach, letter still in hand. Remus was being gentle purposefully. It functioned to ease you into what you were about to uncover. “...look closely.”
You expected him to reclaim his cigarette and tease you about a habit you could never pick up like he had. Your mind wandered briefly, reminiscing on shared teenage innocence, but the thought was interrupted.
The parchment was enchanted, revealing its true contents. It was a novice spell, one that was often times forgotten. To reveal it, one had to warm the paper, and the cinder of the cigarette did just that.
Letter by letter, the hidden message reflected your name. Dumbledore was clever enough to foresee your snooping.
Your arrival will mean so much more than you know.
You should have seen it coming. It was a natural progression due to Sirius roaming. The movement was enough to bleed into the muggle world. It was imperative that Remus would respond, motivating him and the dementors attached.
Everything had a magnetism, pulling you in out of necessity.
“Naturally.” You flicked the remnants of the cigarette into the fireplace. The letter followed. Warmth spread through your limbs, an anger that you had almost forgotten. You went to distance yourself again.
“It’s for the best.” There was candor to Remus’ comment. It was a part of your stipulation, another idea introduced by your former headmaster.
Remus was responsible for you, there to supervise your lack of magic. Where he went, you did. Otherwise, you would have carved a space for yourself in Azkaban. You’d never admit it, but some days you questioned if you’d be better off with the solitude of a cell.
Regardless, eyes were on you.
Your frown ticked, “I never liked children.”
“They’re harmless.” Remus tried to reassure you. You knew he’d do well; there weren’t many things that he didn’t have a natural aptitude for. If he had, you were the obstacle.
“Is that what we were?” You hummed with a bite. “Harmless?”

I feel like Harry isn't praised enough. So.
3 of my absolutely fav things about him :
1- Harry doesn't hesitate to fight those he loves for what is right.
Exhibit A: Sirius. Harry loves Sirius very much and despises Severus. Still, confronted with the fact that Sirius cruelly hurt Severus, he is horrified and confronts Sirius about it. Terrific. Harry has an iron heart.
Exhibit B: he calls out Remus about his treatment of Tonks and their child. Again, so brave of him.
Yes, Harry loves deeply, but isn't afraid to fight those he loves. He isn't blindly devoted or other interpretations I just can't support.
2- Harry is good to those who hurt him. That's fantastic, heroic, inspiring, not stupid or crazy like some meta that I've read.
As matter of fact, Harry's wish to help and save people who hate him and who he hates/dislikes in return is what makes him right and morally correct.
While the two parts are trapped in a circle of violence and revenge, Harry goes beyond it. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, just protect. Another way is possible, the circle can be broken.
One of his most heroic acts is trying to save Draco, Crabble and Goyle. They just tried to murder him and help Voldemort, and still Harry tries to save them. And this is shown as right: Narcissa lies to Voldemort because his son lives.
Everyone is easily able to be good to their friends, allies, family. The Malfoys, for example. But Harry? Harry is able to be good heroic decent to people who are his enemies. And this is so very important.
And not because he lacks the potential for violence and selfishness, but in spite of them. He could be cruel and vindicative and violent, but he chooses not to be. And that's makes all the difference. And this changes the world.
Another of his underrated but incredibly heroic act: he saves Dudley. His tormentor, his bully, the boy who hurt his so much. And yes, the fact that he was threatening him a second earlier makes it all more poignant. Harry chooses to do what's right, to protect instead to take revenge, and this leads to Dudley's redemption.
3- he knows that blaming a whole group of people for the sins of a few is wrong.
Harry's moral integrity is evident since the first day in Hogwarts . Ron asks him how muggles are. And, well, Harry was abused, neglected, hurt, insulted by his muggle relatives. He didn't have any friends because everyone was too scared by Dudley to do anything. And the teachers were dismissive of him, to say the least, if they didn't do anything in front of such a blatant case of child abuse. And still? He rightly calls his aunt and uncle horrible, but he specifies not all muggles are horrible. A thing that Tom Riddle didn't grasp in his 70s.
So, in conclusion, Harry is very strong, has a clearly vision of the world, isn't naive neither stupid.
He chooses to follow his beliefs and fight for what's right, he isn't a follower, he's a leader.
Incidentally, do you know who else fights to protect people who hate him? Severus Snape. Another incredible common things between them.

i love your writing so much! could you maybe do remus comforting you after you failed a test that he helped you study for :,)
thank you for your request im sorry this took an enitre momth! <3
“I feel so guilty,” you confess quietly, your head against Remus’ chest, his hair tickling your ear where he’s leaning against you.
The arm he has wrapped around you tenses.
“What for? For not passing?” He’s too kind to say failed.
“You helped me study and I still couldn’t do it.”
Remus has already wiped away the frazzled, surprised tears when you found out that you failed, has already reassured you and calmed you down, but the guilt is eating you up. Guilt that he wasted his time helping you and wasted it again making you feel better.
“It’s not some moral failing that you couldn’t do it, dove. You just have to try again.”
“No, I know, but you wasted your time going through all those stupid flashcards with me.”
“The flashcards weren’t stupid. And wasted? Time with you is never wasted,” he says.
You sulk. He watches. You can feel his gaze and are only mildly surprised when his lips touch your cheek. He kisses you, lightly and sweetly, fast little pecks into the same spot. “You’re brilliant,” he says, followed by more and more kissing.
His hand rubs over the back of your neck and the side, tilting your head up so he can spread kisses like wild daisies across a field, affection blooming over and down your face, one last flower pressed to your jaw.
“You feel guilty?” You nod. Remus rubs his nose into your face and then pulls away. “My darling-“ your heart soars, “I don’t mind that you failed. I’m upset for you, of course, but I’m not angry.”
“I didn’t think you were,” you mumbled, dropping your head back against his arm with a sigh, neck arched and face to the ceiling. You blow a raspberry.
“Here, give me a kiss.”
“I don’t want kisses.”
Remus snorts. “Alright then, don’t give me one. Break my heart, why don’t you.”
“We did those cards for hours.”
“We did. You worked very hard.”
You roll your eyes at him. He sees it, spluttering, his arm pulled quickly from under your head to pinch at your sides. You yowl like a cat and throw yourself on your side, away from his tickling fingers.
“You did work hard!”
“Let me apologise for wasting your time!”
Remus sighs and leans over you, his hand between your thighs, holding himself up. “Alright, apologise. Let’s hear it.”
You frown. “I’m sorry that I failed after you spent so long helping me revise.”
Remus grins at you, his brown eyes full of a mischief that you usually love but currently hate, his pretty pout already parting before he says, “Thank you for your apology. But I can’t accept it, it wouldn’t be right.”
“Remus…”
“Do you want,” he says slowly, the words all dragged out and playful, “a kiss? Say yes. Please, dovey.”
“You shouldn’t beg.”
“I’ll always beg if it’s at your feet.”
“Ych.” You throw your hands over your face. “I’m sorry, I know I’m still going on and on about this stupid test. I didn’t expect to feel so awful.”
Remus leans sideways heavily into your torso, his elbow pushed into your ribs as his hand searches for your face. He tugs your wrists down, looking slightly more serious than he had. “I liked doing those flashcards with you.”
“Yeah?” you ask miserably.
“Yeah. I like the face you make when you get one right. You try to hide it, but you look so happy.” He smiles, his teeth peeking from under his lip. He has pointy canine teeth. They’re adorable. “And I like it even more when you get one wrong, I know it’s evil, but you’re so pretty when you get frustrated. Your eyes go all dark.”
“That’s good, ‘cos I got most of them wrong.”
“You got better. The more we did the more you improved. We’ll do it again for your retake.” He says everything with finality.
You finally give the poor sod his kiss, a quick press of the lips that makes you want another. The second is slower but chaste, his hand tentative against the column of your throat, holding you in place as he smiles into your mouth.
“What?” you ask, his grin contagious.
“Nothing. Just thinking about your angry face. Wanna start revising now?” he asks cheekily.

Logan headcanons because I can
Autistic
Red is an overwhelming color for him, mainly due to his brain associating it with Roman and Roman's often overwhelming personality
Number 2 is why he despises when Thomas wears red.
The red pen he used to use was only due to his brain applying Strict Teacher Rules to his annotations and edits to Roman's scripts, he was extremely glad to find that Roman despised the pen and wanted him to use a different one
He used to be much more apt to outbursts of a more positive kind, such as willingly giving more information than strictly needed because he enjoyed helping the others learn things
This changed due to repeated negative feedback that makes Logan feel as though he did nothing but make the others feel stupid (red pen, again, but slightly worse because it was more EVERYTHING he was doing, than just one thing)
He stopped wearing his onesie, even when alone in his room, due to fear of being summoned and ridiculed for his childish behavior
He is much harder on himself than he is on the others, despite their apparent belief that he is an arrogant cocky dick
He doesn't often pay attention to the lyrics in songs, rather the beat and instrumental, therefore his music taste is extremely wonky, consisting of any kind of instrumental that makes his brain feel happy, including extremely inappropriate songs and/or extremely childish ones, without him even realizing the context of the words (this is actually backed by his playlist)
There is something about the formula of country music that makes it extremely appealing to him and his pattern-seeking brain
This also applies to those thriller movies that follow the classic killer pattern with the survival rules.
Janus and Roman are two of Logan's least favorite sides
Roman is too overwhelming, and Janus is incredibly hard for him to understand due to him talking almost exclusively in lies
Patton is kind of in the middle, if he was to properly rank them. His overly feelingsy thing, and the wishy washy of morals and the confusing mixture of both makes it hard for them to work together, but he prefers Patton to Roman because he is less overwhelming and loud and otherwise overstimulating, and he doesn't have to worry about Patton speaking in lies, which puts him above Janus.
Remus is in second place, simply because Remus is slightly more tolerable than Patton, even though Logan cannot place WHY (it might be how blunt Remus is compared to how Patton likes to sugarcoat tings and/or hide the negative things)
Virgil is his favorite because they can have logical debates that, even when they get out of hand, will not overwhelm and overstimulate him, they have similar sensory issues, and he is simply the calmest of all the other sides
Logan despises his outbursts, regardless of what kind, and he refused to speak to any of the sides for a week after WTIT
Virgil was the first one to break through afterwards
Remus apologized for pushing him so far, but clarified that he wasn't actually sorry for DOING it, and more for how much it clearly affected Logan beyond the automatic reaction he had hoped for
Logan accepted this apology, because it was sincere, and he can understand Remus' point of view
He did get him back, however, by forcing him to sit through an entire 'lesson' on actual class etiquette.
This started a kind of 'battle' between them of putting each other through increasingly annoying things that one enjoyed and the other did not
Virgil caught Remus forcing Logan to wear a particular texture that extremely bothered his sensory stuff, as a part of this 'game' and proceeded to tear Remus a new one about abusing a fun little game that Virgil thought was a bad idea in the first place, and Can't you see that you've gone too far, this isn't funny anymore, he's genuinely distressed, get him out of that before I take YOUR nipples and shove them up YOUR nose.
Remus didn't actually care about the nipple thing, but he did get where Virgil was coming from, and got Logan out of that Horrific Sweater of that Horrific Texture, and apologized by letting Logan force him to wear an Actual Tie tied Properly for an Entire Day
The game has been on hiatus since because Virgil refuses to allow it to continue, despite Logan insisting that it's Quite Fine, Virgil, there is No Need for your Continued Vigilance, however Appreciated it is. (and it is VERY appreciated, Logan does not usually receive this kind of positive attention to make sure he is comfortable and stays that way)
Logan and Remus will sit and watch Those Movies Referenced In Number 11 together, and will each go on rants about how Stupid that Character is for going in That Room, or Up Those Stairs or something equally stereotypical and stupid
This never gets old, and Logan thinks he may do this until he ceases to exist however that may happen
They watched Trick (2019) together, and Logan spent an hour and a half ranting about how Fucking Amazing the movie was and how The End was So Good and Revolutionary and It's Such A Shame this movie Isn't More Popular because it's A Masterpiece
This is the moment Remus realizes he's in love with Logan
Remus says this seconds after realizing it, cutting Logan off mid-rant
Logan gapes at him for a minute, unsure how to respond, before (extremely apologetically) explaining that he does not feel those feelings for Remus, and that he doesn't want their difference in feelings to harm their friendship because Frankly he's Unsure how he would Continue Doing This (existing) without Remus there in some capacity
This makes their friendship extremely strained, and eventually, they stop spending time together.
Remus explains that this is because he can't Keep Doing This because he is constantly Not Saying Things he wants to say to Logan so that Logan doesn't think he's Actively Hitting On Him, and it makes Remus Physically Ill to not say his things out loud
Logan is unable to function properly for a week after this, and he doesn't really understand how he got This Attached to him.
Virgil talks some sense into him, and Logan has to then spend three months examining his feelings (ugh, feelings) for Remus, until he comes to the conclusion that he Is, In Fact, In Love With Remus
His immediate reaction is to go straight to Remus' room and tell him his feelings
Virgil tries to stop him and fails because Logan cannot think of one logical reason that Remus wouldn't at least hear him out, even if Remus' feelings have since disappeared, which Logan knows is something that happens, and is uncontrollable (if those feelings WERE controllable, he would never have them)
The second Logan says the words, "I'm in love with you", Remus kisses him without a seconds thought, because this is something he's wanted to do since Before he realized he was in love with Logan.
Logan's brain cuts out and overheats as if he is a literal computer, and it takes the literal snap of his neck (killing him) to properly reboot him so he can function.
Remus spent almost three hours trying to get Logan back to normal and almost has an anxiety attack thinking he's just caused the most catastrophic thing ever and somehow literally killed Thomas' Logic.
Virgil senses Remus' increasing anxiety, and is the one to suggest the neck snap. He says it as a joke, to lighten the mood to hopefully make Remus feel better, and Remus takes it as a genuine suggestion.
The first thing Logan does once rebooted, is kiss Remus back.

It’s my birthday, and I’ll write morally ambiguous characters if I want to.
My submission for the wonderful @jilymicrofics’s February prompts. Prompt 13 - “Promise”:
“James?”
“Yes, my love.”
He wrapped his arm around her, concerned. Lily’s demeanour had changed. There they had been, snuggly by the fire, basking in the happiness and excitement for their wedding tomorrow. But then they’d had a few too many glasses of champagne, and Lily had become quiet, introspective. It was just like her to get like this when something was on her mind, and James, as her fiancé, took pride in knowing her so well — but it worried him too.
“Have you ever lied to me?”
James smiled.
“Yes, but I think you know that. Remus—”
“Not about Remus,” she gulped, fiddling with the flute in her free hand. James turned his head to look at her, raising an eyebrow.
“At that raid the other day,” she continued. “I recognised one of the Death Eaters.”
“Even so briefly? From so far away? In a mask? Maybe we should tell Dumbledore, Lil. I—”
“No.”
“No?”
“No.” Lily drained the rest of her glass, settling it haphazardly on the side of the sofa. “It was him.”
“Him?” James queried.
“Yes. I would recognise him anywhere.”
James nodded, understanding. In the few years of their relationship, the person in question had rarely come up, but every time he did James felt the bile form gloopy against his gums, the hairs on the back of his neck stand tall.
“Oh.”
“You were cruel to him, James,” Lily said matter-of-factly, but refusing to meet his eye. “And I know you still continued in seventh year.”
James squirmed, the bits of him held tightly around Lily traitorously revealing his discomfort.
“But I stayed with you,” she continued.
“Yeah.” He cleared his throat. “Maybe I should ask why.”
She finally looked at him.
“Because I love you, and you’re mostly good… I think.”
She nuzzled closer, and he brushed his free hand against his cheek.
“I love you too,” he murmured into her hair. “And I hope so.”
“Does that make me a bad person?” she asked, then laughed something hot and raw. “Or are you the wrong person to ask?”
“Maybe?”
James chuckled but the humour wasn’t quite there.
“He was abused you know. His father—” Lily shook her head. “But I tried. I tried and I tried and I tried, James. He still became one of them. And I don’t blame you, and I fell for you— But why did you have to be so cruel!”
He didn’t know what to say, and when an answer didn’t come, she nuzzled into him again, gently weeping into his shoulder, clutching onto his arm, James all the while stroking her face.
James would never be able to bring himself to feel entirely sorry for Severus Snape. He was a cruel, vindictive boy who wished harm on all who did not abide by his restrictive ways. Surely anyone could see that? But he had also been Lily’s friend. Her best friend even. A human being. And more than once James had felt the guilt of having inflicted harm on someone that his soon-to-be wife once loved. At the time he believed he deserved it — and a part of him still clung to that — but now…
“I’m sorry, Lily. I was. I’m sorry.”
She sniffed, holding her head up.
“You must think I’m stupid, crying over a Death Eater.”
“No, I think you’re full of love, lovely Lily.” He smiled, kissing her on her red flushed nose.
“Thanks,” she said, blinking some of the tears away. “Would you find it terribly selfish of me to say I don’t think it’s me you owe the apology too?”
“No, but—” He sighed. “Lily I would do anything for you. I love you. But you really want me to apologise to someone you know is a Death Eater? I’m sorry. I was a prat. I know it, ok? You stayed with me regardless, and I’m so… so so grateful. Because I love you, and I’m sorry I hurt you. And I’m sorry I… hurt… well, him. But—”
Somewhere along the line James had started crying too. Was this how he lost her? The day before his wedding over Severus Snape? He wanted to be angry at him — furious at him — that awful boy who had threatened Remus’ life, who had joined the ranks of people who wanted to kill his wife, but he could only feel furious at himself.
“No. God. Merlin. James!” She moved to wipe his tears. “That would be so dangerous. No! Never! Like he would even listen… I just things would be so much easier…”
“If I hadn’t have been a dick to Snape at school.”
“Yes.”
“Yes?”
“Yes.” She sniffed. “But you’re not the only awful one. I chose to marry his bully. Choose to love him every day, in fact.”
James shifted in his seat — as much as he could in their grasp. ‘Bully’ — he’d never thought of it as such before… He suddenly thought of a young Severus Snape. Eleven years old. He was tiny, so scrawny. Maybe he had been…
“I get it,” he finally said. “We can call this off if you need.”
“No. No. No. No.” Lily shook her head violently, tears decorating her beautiful red face. “I’m not saying this very well, am I? I love you. I can’t expect you to fully regret what happened with Sev… with Snape in the past. And I’ve made my peace with it. He chose to be a Death Eater. You chose this.” She pointed to his chest. “Me, the boys, the Order. It all means infinitely more to me. But in the name of full disclosure… for tomorrow… I needed you to know this. I hate what you did, but I love you and I love what you’re becoming — what you’ve become — instead. Will you promise me to continue like this?"
James nodded.
“I mean… I’ll try. I’ll promise always to try.”
Lily smiled, weakly, her lip slightly trembling.
“Thanks… James. I’m a mess, an inhuman mess with a very strange past, and I’m confused. What is good? What is bad? What am I supposed to forgive and not?” She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and James felt her demeanour relax. “But I think that’s the best vow I could ask for.”
James kissed her nose once more, holding her as tight as he could without hurting her — any further than he already had, at least.
“I do just want to be a good guy, Lily. I promise—” He caught the glint in her eye and changed course. “But can you promise me you’ll stop beating yourself up for every little thing? For every mistake and bad path other people choose or have chosen to go down?”
“That’s a difficult one,” Lily smiled, “but I promise to try.”
They remained there for a few minutes in the silence, recovering from the depths of the previous revelations, but then a thought occurred to James.
“I’ll promise to keep your — to keep his — secret too, Lily. If that’s what you want. I’ll keep it.”
She nodded.
“I hope he sees the error of his ways,” Lily replied. “If not, something will get him soon. Maybe it will even be us.”
James brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. He didn’t feel great about it. Severus Snape could potentially cause a lot of damage. What if he hurt someone? Or worse. But Lily knew him. Or thought she knew him. And James wanted only her happiness. And to be a better man… whatever he thought of his adversary.
“I can’t wait to marry you tomorrow,” Lily added, noting the seriousness in his eyes.
“I can’t wait either.”
“But it’s just a formality, I think. I already promised my heart to you a long time ago, James Potter.”
She giggled.
“Merlin, how cheesy? Promise me we won’t become one of those old couples.”
“I promise,” said James, feeling more in love than ever before.
