“The birds have vanished into deep skies. A last cloud drifts away, all idleness. Inexhaustible, this mountain and I gaze at each other, it alone remaining.”

Snuck off for a quick run at one of my favorite haunts.
Mt Pisgah in Eugene.
I have logged some miles up her, only 5 with 1000' of climb tonight but it felt like enough.
I needed to shake my mind and body out a bit.

Mt Pisgah Baptist Church - Ringgold Georgia
by: @genstonediy @mtpisgahbaptist

So why not get started immediately. I mean, belonging to it.
There is so much to admire, to weep over. And to write music or poems about.”

10 rail cars derail in Polk County
A train transporting several rail cars near the Mosaic phosphate mine derailed Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 2 a.m. off Mt. Pisgah Road just south of Fort Meade, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
There were no injuries and no hazmat situation after at least 10 rail cars went off the tracks, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. It will likely take some time to clean up…

Merrill Creek and Warren Highlands Trail
Members of the public have raised concerns regarding the closure of sections of the Warren Highlands Trail that pass through Merrill Creek Reservoir due to the commercial logging operations on that property to the Warren County Board of Recreation Commissioners during their recent meetings.
If you, too, want to raise your concerns about the abrupt closure of a county trail that had prior access, you are invited to participate in the public comment portion of the agenda. Here is where you can briefly state your viewpoints on trail closures.
The Board's next public meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, October 10th. The meeting will start promptly at 5:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM. Public comments are anticipated to occur at the start of the meeting, so please arrive early.
Location:
Warren County Land Preservation Dept.
500 Mt. Pisgah Ave.
