I was listening to Heathcliff the Heartbroken’s theme again as one does and was thinking about how cool it was that they juxtaposed heavy metal with a church choir and then I realized they did something very similar in the theme that plays when you fight against The Middle in Canto V. In both cases, the choir is accompanied by a clock ticking.
So then I went and listened to the entire Limbus Company soundtrack again to see if it happens any other time, and there are several songs that feature a choir and/or clock ticking, but in all those cases the choir fits the rest of the song, and the ticking is because of the T Corp association (ex: a lot of Canto 6, that one song in Canto 4 that I’m pretty sure first plays against the T Corp collectors).
For both 6-35 and 5-30 it feels like the rest of the music takes a break to allow the choir (and ticking) to shine, and we know for a fact that it’s relevant in The Heartbroken’s theme considering the stage is called “Ticking Sounds” in reference to Dante, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thought was behind that part of The Middle’s theme because Dante sure is hauling ass in that encounter.
Two examples isn’t enough to make a pattern but it is making me wonder if “choir accompanied clock ticking” is meant to be a Dante motif… I guess we’ll see if it happens again
Do you ever just randomly listen to a song you haven't heard in years and then remember when you were fixated on it in the past so all the memories come back and you're seized with an overpowering sense of nostalgia so all you can do is listen to that song?
Fans of The Proclaimers, They Might Be Giants, and Talking Heads grew up and had kids and those kids are fans of Tally Hall, Lemon Demon, and Will Wood
for like the few people who were interested in my concert experience well here it is. Quick psa: first I know some of these bands are problematic af (Rammstein, Behemoth, 30 Seconds to Mars to name a few) and ofc I didn't know back then, this is like 15 years worth of concerts (and the list is not in chronological order) so please don't @ me. Second I didn't count opening acts if I didn't remember well/didn't like them otherwise it would have been twice as long 🥹
I have some more planned for this year, gonna see Leprous again and ofc my babies Avatar, Taylor Swift (yeah this might come off as a surprise but I like her + Paramore are opening which is huge) but yeah. As you can see I do like music and gigs 🥴 oh and feel free to send asks if you have any questions!
Ok, so I almost talk about gt I find in the wild BUT!
I was listening to AJR stuff and I got a loot at their newest music video out for Inertia. (Very good song btw) And it is BLATENT!
