Be content with everything you have, except for your knowledge and worship, don’t be content with where it is at the moment. Continue to strive everyday to increase both.
وَقُل رَبِّ زِدني عِلمًا
And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge. (Surat TaHa:114).

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“The most beneficial remedy is that you preoccupy yourself with thoughts of what should concern you and not those that should not concern you.
Thinking about what does not matter to you is the door of every evil. Whoever reflects upon what does not concern him, then he will miss what does concern him.”

Even if you're not interested in fucking the false beliefs out of me and turning me into your obedient muslimah sex slave - I will still serve you.
Call me names, humiliate me, abuse me. The white race is a race of slaves. I deserve it.
I desperately need to be owned.

Tears that release the soul.
My first time staying during the night for prayer (قيام الليل) . I chose to pray with Surat Al- muzammil (سورة المزمل).
To my surprise the versus spoke about staying up at night to pray.
My tears were warm on my cheeks while between the hands of Allah.
When I prayed before -in my teen years- I wasn't aware of how sacred prayer is. Allah was a given thought. Something that I believed in, respected and feared. But I wasn't aware of the spiritual heaviness that comes with it.
I prayed for comfort and I prayed out of duty. With little awareness of my humanity and far more less awareness of the universe and its creator.
The years of atheism and despair created a painful void. A void that makes the chest tender, receptive to love.
I prayed today as a revert to Islam.
I prayed through the night in the hands of my creator.
I prayed and I surrendered each time my head touched the earth.
I prayed to Allah with awareness of my humanity, with awareness of his greatness.
I prayed to Allah with love, fear, guilt and regret.
I prayed for the first time with spiritual understanding of every word I uttered.

hey im not usually one for PSAs but if you converted/reverted to islam (especially if youre also a muslimah) and ever posted a video about it explaining why, you may want to check if your video was stolen by the channel How I converted to Islam. a lot of sisters on instagram found their videos on there and many of them were edited to fit a certain narrative (eg: a woman who said she respected all religions and spiritual journeys had that part cut from her video). the channel doesnt credit the people whose videos they steal and it is just. honestly really fucking weird! make sure to spare a glance and let anyone know if their content is on there.

Simple desktop and mobile resources for the discerning muslim revert
Dropping the links I use to study Quran
The Noble Quran - contains 66 different languages (including transliteration). Also has good (short) summaries of many tafsir, surah/ayah/word recitation/pronunciation.
Legacy Quran - same as the first link, but only text. May be less demanding or easier to navigate on certain browsers.
Quranic Audio - same as the first link, but only audio. Has countless recitation options, from the Holy Quran itself to Taraweeh to non-Hafs recitations.
Quranic Arabic Corpus - invaluable classical arabic dictionary that let's you search by ayah, word, or root, and explains the grammar and syntax of each word, as well as frequency of usage.
Quran: A Reformist Translation - this is the translation I use to cross-reference everything I read from the other webbed sites. very well-researched, but also probably "blasphemous" by the standards of conservative Islam. considered to be of Quranist persuasion, the three authors both give a more metaphorical understanding of the Quran and debunk many common misconceptions about the Islamic faith from both inside and outside the religion. Unparalleled if you're a convert but the centuries-long debates of different Islamic schools has deterred you from exploring Gd's message.
The Prophet's Prayer - based on cross-referencing many different sunnah and hadith, the author seeks to give the most logical and accurate account to the guidelines of prayer as described on behalf of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Great source of clarity if you're unfamiliar with navigating supplementary texts.
English Quran Audio (Part 1) (Part 2) - Saheeh International translation; great to download and listen to in your free time. I let this play while I sleep so that I may drift off and wake up to Gd's word.
Al-Azan Prayer App - privacy-focused open source adhan and qibla app. Lots of good features with plenty of customization. Be sure to download the F-Droid app store onto your phone, then install Al-Azan from there, so that it will automatically update. (F-Droid also has other great privacy apps you should check out while you're there, including Youtube and Twitch front-ends).
Noor Ul-Huda - another F-Droid app but with a customizable mobile Quran reading experience. Allows you to tag and bookmark different surahs and ayats, as well as the option to download translations of the Quran in 44 different languages. Same as the previous app, be sure to download F-Droid first in order to automatically update.

The Words - The First  Word - Part 2
Bismillah is a blessed treasure. It transforms your boundless weakness and poverty, by binding you to the All-Powerful and Merciful One’s infi- nite Power and Mercy, into the most heeded intercessor at His Exalted Court. When you say bismillah, you act in His name. You are like a soldier acting in the state’s name, fearing no one, doing all things in the name of the law and the state, and persisting against all odds.
How does everything recite bismillah through its very mode of exis- tence? For example: A stranger arriving in a city can order its people to gather at a certain place to work on a certain task. If this order is obeyed, the stranger obviously is acting in the name of the ruler’s strength and authority, not his own. In the same way, everything acts in the name of God, the All-Mighty. Small seeds and grains carry huge trees on their heads and raise weights as heavy as mountains. Each tree says bismillah and, filling its hands with fruit from Mercy’s treasury, offers them to us on a tray. Each garden, a cooking pot from the Divine Power’s kitchen where count- less varieties of delicious foods are prepared, says bismillah.
All blessed animals (e.g., cows, camels, sheep, and goats) say bismillah and become fountains of milk from Mercy’s abundance. They offer us, in the All-Providing’s name, a most delicate and pure food like the water of life. Every plant and blade of grass, every root and stem, says bismillah. All plant, tree, and grass roots and fibers, soft as silk, say bismillah and pierce hard stones and soil. Mentioning His Name, the Name of the All-Merciful, subjects everything to them.

With ramadan less than a day away, this is your annual reminder to INCLUDE YOUR CONVERT/REVERT FRIENDS, many of us will be alone this month and during eid because we don't have family to celebrate with, invite us over for iftar, or eid prayer or even just a simple "happy ramadan" acknowledgment makes our day. Help a brother or sister out and help us feel less alone or forgotten during this holy month.
