ZackSeph Nibelheim au wherein Zack and Seph are sharing a room at the inn. Zack’s brow is furrowed in distressed, tossing and turning as he lays gripped in the haunting talons of a nightmare. A prophetic nightmare where he sees Seph turning against him—turning against everyone—laughing like a maniac with an unrecognizable blaze in his eyes, with a blood-bathed Masamune in his hand as he viciously attacks him without mercy. Seph… he’s mumbling in his sleep. Please… it’s me… Please… don’t…

Suddenly, tender hands are shaking him awake, shattering the nightmare. Zack’s eyes flare open to see Sephiroth standing over him, concern etched deep on his features. The boy’s breath is erratic, panicked; it takes several beats for it to find rhythm again, remnants of the nightmare clinging to him like the glistening pearls beading his lashes. Sephiroth asks what’s wrong—why his friend was calling his name. Zack is hesitant to respond, swallowing. But he eventually gives in as Sephiroth remains by his side, patient and assuring, a comforting presence that soothes his soul like balm. He explains his nightmare, spilling his terror. His emotions. Throat nearly closing as he struggles to finish the conclusion—the bloody gleam of Masamune, the way Seph had speared her through his—

As Zack’s voice trails off, shaking, Sephiroth face softens into an empathetic ache. He reaches out to brush the tears from Zack’s eyes, catching them with tender fingers. It’s just a nightmare… he assures kindly. It’s all alright now. But Zack isn’t fully assuaged; something about it all was too real, too vivid. Already stabbed with the pain of betrayal, having to fight a friend to the death… it’s just too much to think about his last remaining rock turning against him. Seeing his distress, Sephiroth gathers the boy into a warm embrace, holding him close, sinking onto the edge of the bed as Zack burrows into his chest. Listening to his heartbeat, wrapping his arms around him in turn. Clinging.

Shhh…. It’s alright. I’m here. You’re safe.

I thought… I thought I lost you. You didn’t even recognize me.

Sephiroth only holds him tighter.

They stay like that for a long, nebulous stretch of time, until Zack’s breathing begins to steady, until his eyes begin to close. As sleep begins to claim the boy again, Sephiroth carefully tucks him back under the covers, ensuring his comfort and warmth. Pulling the sheets up to his shoulders and slowly pulling away.

As he turns around, ready to return to bed, Zack’s eyes creak open.

Seph... would you... stay with me?

There’s a beat, a moment of stillness. But one that is quickly broken. Understanding the depth of his friend’s turmoil, Sephiroth returns nothing but a slow, kind nod, sliding into the bed beside his friend and wrapping his arms protectively around him. Zack nestles deep into the embrace, finding solace in the familiar warmth and sanctuary.

It’s my job to protect you, Zack… You know that. I won’t let anything harm you.

Zack nestles closer, sinking deeper into his best friend’s arms as a dreamless slumber begins to wash over him… safe and sound with a steady heartbeat pressed against his own.

…I don’t know what I’d do without you.

Sephiroth holds him tighter, protecting his treasure.

And you will never have to find out. I promise.

Does he find out? Does Sephiroth go insane, or does Zack remind him of the promise he made as Jenova attempts to claim him? Does their love break her control? Does Sephiroth choose his best friend over his book, keeps his vows over learning the twisted truth?

The end of an era.

Babymetal, thank you for the past 10 years. even if 5 of them were without Yui. they made a promise to stay together for 10 years and they made it. as a Yui stan, it was hard seeing her not come back. i cried a lot aha. but im a little happy. Yui definitely was the one to decide whether she would come back for this imo. i think Momoko being the third member took a lot of weight off of Yui's shoulders. that makes me very happy.

The goofy, innocent, and good ol' days have ended. The end of an era which was led by Su, Moa, and Yui. Thank you for 10 years!

But,

a new era is born and i'm extremely excited. more goofy times, more shenanigans, and new memories for not only BM but for us as fans. ik a lot of my fellow Yui stans are upset but please don't pay mind to them they're really annoying aha.

and to those Yui stans:

Yui is not being replaced. no one can replace her. this is the beginning of a new era. they have put the past 10 years to rest. this is BM reborn. so dont you dare say Momoko is replacing Yui. it is not the same era as when Yui was here. get over it.

So I hear it's Lesbian Day so allow me to infodump about my Skylander Oc Ship: Portal Master Silvana x Phoebe the Fairy.

🌙 Silvana and Phoebe have known each other around the time Silvana became an apprentice to Eon especially around the time Silvana was in their mid teens, Phoebe would often be exploring and meeting new people and anytime Silvana had free time, they would end up meeting up. 🌙 They share a love for Skystones though Phoebe was pretty talented at and they did share a friendly rivalry as a result. Anytime Silvana is having adventures with the Skylanders, they would gift her new Skystones she probably doesn't have yet. And card games. They both enjoy a battle of wit together. 🌙Phoebe was one of the only people who believed in Silvana and wasn't very afraid of them and even saw them as more than just a Portal Master, even sometimes reminding them of that. It was one of the reasons why Silvana fell head heels in love with her. 🌙Silvana wears a moon shaped crystal which has a lot of light magic to stabilize their dark magic (just to give them some balance). That was made by Phoebe who took the liberty to turn some magic into a crystal. Silvana gave it to Spyro temporally when he was losing control of his dark form during the time they and the Skylanders were building the core of light and when they were in the realm facing Hecktor. 🌙They became a couple after they with Flynn, Tessa, Sharpin and the Skylanders save Cloudbreak Islands from Kaos and his mother. It did take a rather long discussion about starting the relationship since the both of them did have respective duties. 🌙The only way I can sum this up is that they have a secret relationship but they do like it this way. Though Persephone is the only one who knows about them dating since she did help make it happen. It's mainly justified because Silvana is a Portal Master and leader of the Skylanders, mostly because of that and having the responsibility of protecting Skylands put on their shoulders after taking on the mantel during the time the Skylanders had to make a new Core of Light, they couldn't afford to have romantic relationships even though they had crushes before. And Phoebe is a substitute ruler of the fairy kingdom keeping things running smoothly in the Ancient Woods while Persephone helps the Skylanders. 🌙Boy heaven help you if you hurt the moon to Silvana's dark sky as as well as any of the Portal Master's loved ones because you'll either be bound to a mirror for eternity or be trapped in Traptanium and placed somewhere where no one could find you. Because that's what happened to Kaossandra (Kao's Mom) and Count Moneybones respectively. 🌙 Eventually Phoebe does move into the Academy while Persephone goes back to the fairy kingdom in the Ancient Woods and takes a turn helping the Skylanders by giving them magical upgrades when the Doom Raiders strike. Persephone insisted. 🌙 So at most it was a long distance relationship before Phoebe was given Persephone's job to give upgrades, they keep contact through letters. Love letters and letting the other know how they've been ect. 🌙Discreet dates at night, looking at the starry sky like they used to when they were younger.

🌙Silvana ends up spoiling Phoebe with their cooking which they do a heck lot of especially for the Skylanders. Dinner dates also happen discreetly. 🌙 Silvana is known to be overworked and all nighters is their game, Phoebe understands that but reminders to get some rest and sleep is something she does pretty often. They end up falling asleep together in Silvana's office or in their quarters. Good thing Hugo doesn't just let himself into the office.

AHAAA MY BEANS!!! The Pupcakes ship! One of my favourites! I'm doing all the options again because I've had them in literally every one of those relationships before so I got plenty to talk about! I'm so sorry mobile users this may end up a long post for you.

Okay so starting with friendship, they would both be surprisingly physically affectionate with each other. Hugs, and linking arms are just the norm for them. They also have the most fun with their animal bases, trying to figure out what each other are saying via barks and clucks. The pair of them have the wildest girl's nights ever. Like, Roxy turned the bumber cars into a hyped up waltzer so the two tried to see how fast they could get it to go before either it couldn't go any faster or they both fell off. Chica likes to try and start prank wars with Roxy but whenever she's been got, Roxy just fucking trumps her with the most over the top mousetrap style contraption ever and the best Chica can retaliate with is drawing a massive dick on the wall of Roxy's room. Like Freddy, Roxy is also pretty big on parallel play as well as every other type of play, so the two also have spent many a night vibing in one of their rooms or Roxy's garage with Roxy playing some sort of game or working on fixing something while Chica talks nonstop for like three hours or practices her guitar or something. They have the occasional playfight but they usually settle their differences with a game of Uno... which yeah, solves the problem technically but it also starts an all out war so really, it's not doing them any favours.

As siblings? Hm okay gonna be honest, I haven't played with that idea as much but it would be much the same as their friendship except with less boundaries. Chica will just randomly burst into Roxy's room out of nowhere and never leave ever again. Roxy's room is Chica's room and Chica's room is Roxy's room. Oh my god don't ever let them play Monopoly. As general family, they can be much sweeter than that though. They vibe and bounce off each other really well and can typically tell when the other one is having a hard time a mile off. They share pretty much everything and will do the odd little thing for each other if the opportunity presents itself, and of course they're ride or die for each other. Chica would kill for Roxy and Roxy would heavily intimidate and maybe throw a few punches for Chica, whatever's necessary.

As romantic partners, the sweetness is amped up but also so is the nonsense. I like to think that Chica, knowing that Roxy loves attention and big grand gestures, tries really hard to ask her out in just as big and flashy a gesture as Roxy typically admires. And on the flip side, if Roxy does try and ask Chica out, she knows that Chica prefers the smaller, more personal ways to ask someone something important like that and thus, tries to ask her out like that. Which means you could easily have Chica get cold feet and back out of asking Roxy out because her idea was big or grand enough for her, and Roxy showing up afterwards with a bowl of love heart sweets that all read 'DATE ME' on them and sits there with her until the penny drops and they're a thing. I may have planned for that to be a thing in a fic but that's neither here or there, it's sugary sweet okay? They were both wrong anyway. Roxy talks about hijacking shows to show someone you love them but she honestly implodes on the spot every single time Chica does something small like drawing a picture for her or replacing the stickers on the windows the staff keep cleaning off so Roxy can see there's a wall there. Chica is the opposite, always talking about the little things but the moment Roxy performs a love song for her, in front of all of their friends, Chica is on cloud nine.

In terms of their chaos amping up? Chica made titty shaped chocolate for her one Valentines and Roxy wrote 'I ♥ Chica' in literal fire. Date night? It's fucking roulette. Are they gonna watch a movie together or are they going to add another six pages to the rule book and break a hole in the wall? Who knows! Not them! It always ends on sweet and soft cuddles though. The amount of physical affection only increased when they got together and now they're practically joined at the hip. They're so in love too! Roxy's tail just wagging constantly when they're together and Chica's eyes going heart shaped whenever she zones out thinking about her... they could be so sweet!

And now the reverse. Oh boy the reverse. Listen, these two? At each other's throats? All the time? The only time they're in the same room with each other is during rehearsals, group photoshoots with kids or when on stage together. Believe me, you do not want to get between these two when they're fighting. A truce?? From these two?? Incredibly rare. They've done it maybe twice ever and only in the most dire of situations. Left unattended, they will rip each other to shreds. Roxy will be pissed off about it for like a month and many of staffbots will die to her over it while Chica will just rant and rave the moment someone mentions Roxy's name in her presence for a while. One of the big things they fight over? Well, their animal bases have very different ways of treating people. Roxy being on the side of 'look out for your pack' and Chica being on the side of 'know your place'. Yeah it doesn't end well very often. Chica comparing her to Foxy and invading Roxy's space on purpose when she knows it stresses her out and makes her mad while Roxy has fun sabotaging the music players in Mazercise to piss her off and getting Mapbot to haunt her for weeks at a time. Getting them to get along is Bonnie's life work and it's not going very well. They were on the same team in Fazerblast once and they currently hold the joint record for most points lost to friendly fire. They both have some S tier roasts though. They can absolutely obliterate each other whenever they get the chance.

They have so much potential!! They could be funny besties or they could be madly in love or chaotic siblings or lifelong enemies! They're very versatile! I love them!
