In the pressure cooker, this Weight Watchers chili recipe tastes great immediately! Here’s how to make it. Slow cooked chili tastes better to me the next day after the flavors have had a chance to meld. I can tell a difference in slow cooking vs. It slow cooks as well, so that’s what I did for weeks before I finally got the onions to push the Beans/Chili button. One other thing to note about this recipe – I made it in the slow cooker at first, but I much prefer it in the pressure cooker.įunny side note: I got this Crock-Pot 6Qt pressure cooker but it took me awhile to get brave enough to use the pressure cooking functions. You’re going to love this recipe and want to include it as part of your regular meal plan. This WW chili recipe is easy and SO DELICIOUS even just as is, but you have a lot of options. Depending on the day, I might add tortilla chips, chives, reduced fat cheese, or light sour cream. Once this turkey chili is made, don’t forget to add garnishments (which may add to the points value). This is a great recipe for making “your own” – and it’s nearly impossible to mess up. Keep in mind that if you add anything to what is already here, you might need to add some chicken broth or beef broth to keep the consistency right. If the veggies have points, you’ll have to add those, but so many don’t. I’ve added, at various times: sweet potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, corn, zucchini, and more. While this recipe is great as-is, I also like to add any veggies from the kitchen that I need to use up.

As I said, the program I am on is Freestyle, so that’s the point value I use. If you aren’t on the Freestyle program, here’s a quick guide to the WW points for this particular recipe. If you decide to do a different meat, you’ll need to add that to your recipe and recalculate the points! Points By Program I rotate between chicken and turkey (depending on what I’m craving), but it’s always 99% fat free. Note: the meat must be 99% fat free to be ZERO points. I had just gotten used to the SmartPoints and was hesitant about Freestyle at first, but now I’ve embraced it and I love that the points roll over and also that I get some “freebie” foods.Īnd that’s where this Weight Watchers chili recipe comes into play! I’ve been working on this recipe for awhile, testing different ingredients until I found something I liked. I joined Weight Watchers several months ago before switch to the Freestyle program.

Wasn’t a good idea getting into a bikini this morning. It’s freezing here in Va and I now don’t want to take it off🤪 so much work went into this transformation you see. • Some people want that quick route without doing any of the work. I don’t blame them, it’s hard work. BUT, the part that truly transforms you through and through is DOING that hard work. The biggest lessons you’re going to learn on this journey is from the hard work you’re putting into yourself. • One of my favorite songs, and yes this is cheesy and I don’t care lol, is Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb.” It just resonated with me throughout my journey. She talks about wanting to just get to her goals but the that’s not what it’s all about, it’s about the climb that gets you there and all the lessons that transform who you are as a person. This journey has transformed me in many different ways. Everyone can see the physical transformation but I will argue that what has happened within me emotionally and mentally is the BESTEST part of all of this. So, enjoy the climb yall. With lots of lemon and pepper, and green veggies 🍃🌿 3/4 lb. orecchiette 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp olive oil 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt, divided 1 tsp pepper 1 tbsp garlic, minced 1 tsp garlic powder 1 cup vegetable broth 3 1/4 cups (packed) broccoli florets cut small 3/4 cup frozen peas 1/4 cup fresh parsley 2 tbsp fresh dill 2 tbsp vegan butter 2 tbsp greek-style vegan yogurt* Juice of 1 1/2 to 2 lemons, to taste 1/4 cup vegan parmesan (optional) Extra pepper for serving Red chili flakes for serving *can sub coconut cream, vegan cream cheese, or just omit Cook pasta according to package directions for al dente, in salted water. Drain, but reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Meanwhile, in a large pan on medium heat, add onions, oil, 1 tsp of kosher salt, and pepper. Stir, cook for 5 min. Add garlic, cook another min. Add garlic powder and vegetable broth, let gently simmer for 2 min. Add broccoli florets and peas, stir and cook covered for 2 to 3 min. Remove lid and cook more time if broccoli is not yet fork tender. Rings have been my latest NSV (non-scale victory). . I used wear a lot of rings in my younger years and then I guess when it was gaining/losing weight I stopped wearing them. This was true until I got engaged in 2017. . I did get my engagement ring resized after being on WW and I didn’t think much about my other rings. Actually during most of the pandemic I’ve worn my silicone ring in lieu of my engagement ring but when I stated my new job I decided to wear it even thought I’m still working from home. . A few weeks ago I pulled out the peridot ring since it is my August birthstone and also has inspired to get my power nails done and a similar hue. Then yesterday I pulled out my ring I got in Dublin to see how it would fit as more of an every day ring for my right finger as opposed to the peridot. . This peridot ring by the way is from my childhood I think I got it for my birthday when I was around 10 years old. It’s crazy to think how chubby my little fingers must’ve been perhaps I had it resized at some point - I don’t recall. My first set of weight loss charms finally came in the mail today, so even though I’m almost to the 10 pound mark at this point, I officially have my 5 pound charm! WW does periodically send out milestone keychains, but they aren’t really my style, nor do they come consistently enough to really help me stay motivated. Earning that little token every 5 lbs seems like a better motivator for me. I have this keychain on my purse so that I can carry a reminder of how far I’ve come everywhere I go!

Left hand pic is from January 2020. I started my WW journey on July 1 after gaining 14 lbs during quarantine. The pic on the right was taken in Sept 2020. 45 lbs shed since July 1.
I’m happy to see this progress and look forward to moving forward.
