More pidge hanging out with one of their sculptures, this time w/o the headphones (which are automatic if you’re listening to audio from a different app outside of sky, so long as you don’t have a hair accessory already present). I figure the horns could be a reference to her being a ‘gremlin’, and their monsters n mana persona too. Also I read somewhere that her mm persona was originally going to be a cat eared character like Pike but that was changed for Lance instead, so there’s that too, plus the cat hairstyle is one of the only hairstyles I have that I feel could represent Pidge (maybe keith too but for different reasons, but for now I gave him a different one since I settled on it for pidge)

A hired blade with a chaotic streak, as well as the closest thing you have to a friend. Easy-going and unpredictable, Val is usually the one to get you into trouble, but is always there to get you out of it.

The Handmaiden: Klaus Kirkhall (m)

A high-ranking member of the Religious. Klaus is pragmatic with a dry sense of humor, but takes his responsibilities deeply seriously. You get the intense feeling he know something - many things - that you don't.  

The Priestess: Ira Auclair (nb)

A priestess working in the lower districts of the Holy City, extremely devout and deeply interested in the history and lore of the Religious. They spend their time searching archives to fuel their (slightly blasphemous) theories.  

The Spy: Kat Saxon (f)

Claims to be a priestess, but is barely trying to hide the fact that she's clearly anything but. Her merciless stare and unshakeable confidence dare anyone to call out her suspect nature.  

The Muscle: Dane/Dana Constantine (m/f)

An officer of the Blessed Guard, working directly under Klaus. Constantine is quick to anger, and is an absolute brick wall when challenged. While deeply loyal, Constantine isn't afraid to give their employer a piece of their mind.

(Some of) My retrospective grievances Bakugan

I loved Bakugan growing up--and for the most part, the first two seasons hold up. That said, I did want to mention things about the series that I wish they'd done better. Some of it's nit-picks, and some of it is stuff that really annoyed me. I don't recall everything, so be sure to let me know if I misremembered some things!

There's NO WAY Dan, Shun, and Runo were 11 years old (in the Japanese version; they were 12 in the English version, which is still unbelievable to me). I'd buy that everyone on the team was 16-18 and Marucho was 12.

I wish the parents and more adults in general were more involved in Bakugan. Magical creatures and cards that put you in another dimension fall from the sky and it's mostly just young people who use them? It feels like parents would at least be more concerned about what's going on, but Dan's parents aren't super involved--heck, I remember being surprised that he had a dad! That's something we never see from Yugi (whose dad is always on a business trip) and Ash (whose dad is a mystery).

Terrible treatment t of female characters. Julie, Alice, and Runo were great members of the team, but they were essentially removed from the show in season 2 because Drago only wanted to involve Dan. That'd be fine, but Marucho tagged along too, and Shun found his way there, too--and the male/female ratio was thrown off enormously, because we got a lot of new male characters, and very few new female characters.

Give more information on the location of the characters. Julie is from Australia and Alice is from Russia. Aside from missing accents, I'd have liked to have seen how Bakugan affected the different countries/cultures.

More backstories for the characters. I recall Shun's backstory and how it ties into his relationship with Skyress, but everyone else deserves that, too--plus it'd be neat to see how his traditional background (with his grandfather being a ninja) affecting his relationship with Marucho, who comes from a rich and modern family, as well as his friendship with Dan, who is also more modern.

Too many side characters who don't return for season 2 onwards. I always hated that we had fun characters like Chan Lee, Billy, and Klaus who are just written off later. It would've been fun to see them become bigger characters as the show went on rather than smaller ones.

Marucho and Shun keep getting new Bakugan. I'd have enjoyed it if the original 6 Bakugan returned to the team and they got Bakugan as well--namely because Ingram and Elfin were the only good "replacement" Bakugan for Marucho and Shun. The girls can just have their OG bakugan like Dan, or they could have two (their OG and a new one) like Shun and Marucho--though I guess technically Marucho would have 3 because of Angelo/Diablo.

Why is it that only some Bakugan can talk while the rest only let out animalistic? I kinda wish they all could talk, as well as not having duplicate bakugan with different elements.

The Vexos needed more backstories and didn't have to die. For a kids' show, this felt like a needlessly grim fate for them--and an annoying one if you grew up with the English dub, since they're just lost in another dimension rather than dead. It's Yu-Gi-Oh all over again--except the original and 5Ds had every right to be that dark. They could've just been imprisoned and we could've learned about more of them outside of Spectra and Gus. I really loved Lync and Alice, as well as Shadow and Mylene's chemistry, as well as the parallels between Volt and Baron.

Ingram's gender. This is more of a dub issue. To my understanding, Ingram is male, though in the dub, he was referred to as female for the first half of the anime with a female voice actor, and then male in the later half with a male voice actor. I'd be fine if he was NB or genderfluid, though if I had to pick between male and female, I'd prefer if he was male, given that Shun already had Skyress as a mother-figure, and Ingram could represent Shun's insecurities.

No one's gonna explain that moment between Drago and Percival in episode 26 of "New Vestroia"? That's the most surprising rivalry-turned-(almost) romance I've ever seen.

"Gundalion Invaders" was basically "New Vestroia" but with less interesting characters.

Depuis quelques semaines, la Presse, fatiguée sans doute de nous répéter les mêmes balivernes sur les victoires des ukrainiens et les défaites des russes (quand vont-ils enfin ouvrir les yeux ?), sur la ''seule solution'' (?) au Moyen-Orient (les impossibles ''deux Etats''), sur la non-connexion entre la délinquance et la violence... et l'immigration (sic !), a reçu un nouvel os à ronger : ''Macron, chercherait un cap pour 2024'', après une année difficile (NDLR pourquoi une seule ? Depuis qu'il est là, les tuiles succèdent aux crises et les catastrophes aux mauvaises nouvelles !) (NB : ce ''billet'' a été écrit juste avant la ''conférence de presse'' d'hier).

Ça, au moins, c'est de la nouvelle, et heureusement qu'on a des journalistes bien payés pour nous dire comment va le monde ! Car si on comprend bien (ce qui, après bientôt 8 années de lavage de cerveau et de mensonges ''en même temps'', force l'admiration pour le peuple français !), la France ne serait donc même plus gouvernée ''à vue'', mais trimballée, baladée, au pifomètre ou en fonction des vents : on cherche chaque jour ce qu'on va bien pouvoir raconter le lendemain, et si on trouve, c'est une journée faste ! Mais le plus terrible, dans cette constatation qui aurait du être faite depuis bien longtemps, c'est que les grosses lettres des ''unes'' de nos quotidiens sont le reflet de la dramatique vérité ! Pardon de revenir, une fois encore, sur l'Ecclésiaste et son ''Malheur à la cité dont le roi est un enfant'', mais si vous me proposez une citation qui décrive mieux que celle-là l'état de décomposition avancée de notre pauvre France en train de faire naufrage... je la fais mienne !

A la limite, on pourrait comprendre cette valse-hésitation d'un Président qui a été propulsé à ce poste par le plus inexplicable des hasards (car je ne veux pas revenir –comme il faudrait pourtant le faire, si on veut trouver de vraies explications à notre drame actuel-- sur l'immense scandale Fillon, qui a fait entrer notre pays dans la smala des républiques bananières... qu'il n'a plus quittée, depuis !), et qui aurait aimé laisser dans l'histoire une autre trace que celle, lamentable, de son règne-pour-rien : peut-être, semble -t-il penser, qu'une idée géniale pourrait encore sauver l'in-sauvable ? Beaucoup –dont moi-- sont convaincus qu'il est déjà trop tard. Mais d'un autre côte ''tant qu'il y a de la vie, il y a de l'espoir''...

On sait qu'il existe une théorie, qui fut vite qualifiée de complotiste par les seuls complotistes qui existent, ceux qui croient (dis)qualifier par ce titre ceux qui ne pensent pas comme eux (l'expérience permettant de considérer cette théorie comme plus-que-probable) : l'évolution à moyen terme du monde est menacée par ''les cauchemars made in Davos'', dont la perversité ravageuse est disponible dans toutes les librairies, sous le titre de ''The great Reset'' (la grande Réinitialisation), poison violent signé Klaus Schwab. Force est de constater que le monde est dirigé par des vampires dont la seule mission est de mettre en place les non-systèmes inventés par un petit groupe d'illuminés. Il est alors facile de comprendre qu'un président qui doit ''détricoter'' tout ce qui existe, mais sans que ça se sache, n'a pas un job facile. Dans ce contexte, avoir l'air de ne pas avoir de cap peut ne pas être aussi idiot que ça en a l'air... Les intéressés nient cette immense conspiration... mais on ne les croit pas : ils mentent sans cesse !

En réalité, la vraie question est ailleurs : qui peut affirmer que les français, dans leur immense majorité, ont envie de ''sauver'' ce quinquennat qui ne peut logiquement plus l'être ? Et qui peut croire qu'ils pourraient majoritairement souscrire aux visions apocalyptiques que leur laissent entrevoir, comme seul futur, toutes les non-solutions garanties que leur proposent les dystopies ''davossiennes'' ? Autre manière de poser ce problème insoluble : il est difficilement concevable qu'un Président sans boussole détruise autant de choses, toutes dans le même sens, dans l'Histoire, les mœurs, les habitudes, les relations entre citoyens, la culture, la composition du corps social et le système de référence de ses habitants et de ses nouveaux arrivants... ce qui donnerait raison à ceux qui disent ''envahisseurs'' pour parler d'eux... Les réponses semblent autant ''d'allant-de-soi'' à ceux qui se sont juré qu'on ne les y reprendrait plus. Mais pour les autres ?

Dernier point qui mérite d'être pris en considération au lieu d'être ''disqualifié'' avant même d'avoir été étudié : devant la destruction systématique de tout ce qui fut, de ce qui est, de ce que les français voudraient voir maintenu et continué... on se souvient de cette vieille phrase tirée du célèbre ''Sapeur Camembert'' de nos grands-pères : ''pour combler un trou, il suffit de faire un trou un peu plus grand, juste à côté'', idée de génie que tous nos présidents depuis un demi-siècle ont utilisée, en ne résolvant aucun de problèmes qui se posaient à notre pays mais en ''refilant'' toutes les décisions structurantes à ce truc terrifiant qui a usurpé le nom –anciennement respecté et attractif-- de ''Europe'', ce ''bien'' (?) qui s'est révélé pire que le ''mal'' qu'on prétendait soigner (à défaut de le guérir...) en se recommandant de lui... Que tout est donc compliqué !

La relance (ou pas) des 3 années qui restent de ce quinquennat terrible pour la France –qui s'estimera chanceuse si elle existe encore après avoir été soumise à un tel essorage pendant deux fois cinq ans (mathématiquement, ça fait dix ans de trop !), ne semble être désirable que pour le seul Macron –et les quelques prébendiers qui lui restent encore fidèles en titre-- mais vraiment pas pour le peuple français qui le démontre à longueur de mécontentements catégoriels, d'abstention-comme-jamais nulle part ailleurs, et de ras-le-bol perceptible jusque dans les ''dîners en ville'' qui pourtant, lui furent longtemps favorables (tout le monde peut se tromper !).

S'il a vraiment besoin de faire quelque chose –pour se faire croire à lui-même qu'il existe-- il lui suffit de découvrir enfin que tout ''changement-pour-le-changement'' n'est pas un ''progrès'', et que, par conséquence, il serait plus efficace, dans l'intérêt commun, qu'il arrête de nous terrifier avec des bobards en chapelets sur des virus inventés, sur des gaz à effet de serre ou de dessert, inventés aussi, sur des ''transitions climatiques'' fantasmées et inutiles et de ''transition'' totalement inutile --mais terriblement coûteuse ! Par exemple, en signe de sa bonne volonté et de son désir d'un authentique ''changement utile'', il pourrait arrêter de nous dresser les uns contre les autres, à propos de chacune de ses idées-qui-ne-sont-que-mauvaises et ne peuvent que nous séparer en groupes hostiles –toujours au nom d'un prétendu désir d'union sacrée que personne n'a jamais vu... (un peu comme le Pape François, qui fabrique sans nul besoin un risque de rupture avec l'Eglise d'Afrique –la principale force et la dernière chance de la chrétienté-- à propos du simulacre de bénédiction des ''couples'' homosexuels... ce qui n'était vraiment pas la première urgence, en ce moment !)

En conclusion (puisque, comme aimait à le répéter Flaubert ''seuls les imbéciles veulent conclure'' (sic !), je vais me permettre, en ce début d'année, de vous recommander, chers amis-lecteurs, de vous procurer (et de lire !) deux livres qui sont indispensables pour qui veut comprendre pourquoi nos élites indignes de leurs responsabilités mènent si mal les affaires du monde –et les nôtres : le premier –déjà cité ci-dessus-- est le désespérant livre de Klaus Schwab, ''The great Reset '', en français : la grande Réinitialisation (Ed. Forum Publishing), et le second (dont nous parlons souvent dans ce Blog) est ''La gestion de la barbarie'' de Abou Bakr Naji (Ed Eyrolles). Ces deux ouvrages ne sont peut-être pas les seuls qui permettent de ''comprendre demain''. Je les crois néanmoins à la fois nécessaires et suffisants. Bonne lecture à tous ceux qui voudront savoir à quelles sauces indigestes ils vont être ''bouffés'', dans un futur qui, hélas, semble de plus en plus proche...!
