was reading the wikipedia page for this drug I had to do a project on in my forensic science class in high school to my sister the other day and reading her the scientific information and letting her translate it for me because I understand none of it. anyway it's really "here's a couple micrograms and it'll fuck your entire body up badly" it can do a lot of damage to the heart and what protects it as well as your muscular cells like it's crazyyy. and also gets passed off for LSD despite being different in many ways specifically the dosage amount since it doesn't take much for it to work so overdoses frequently happen. sorry I think learning about this stuff is interesting even if I don't understand all the science behind it <3

In 2017, behind the prosecution table, 11 men and women quietly but palpably longed for the two missing men who they would never see again.

Behind the defense table, 11 men and women sat in support of a loved one at the beginning of many years of bars and cement block walls.

Between them stood a young man who, according to police and the prosecution, in 2016 ingested a drug and brutally murdered an elderly man and his own childhood friend.

Another hearing was held in February 2019, in which that afternoon, Kyle Boldrey, 26, was resentenced for the 2016 murders of Keith Atkinson and Trevor Hubbard, murders police said Boldrey committed while under the influence of a synthetic hallucinogen called 25i-NBOMe.

Judge Michael Mack of the 26th Circuit Court handed down a sentence of 22 to 50 years for each of two counts of second-degree murder, to be served concurrently.

The court already sentenced Boldrey once. In October 2017, Mack assigned Boldrey 25 to 50 years in prison, exceeding the recommended guidelines because of the brutality of the case.

Boldrey appealed the 2017 sentence, indicating that he had pleaded no contest under a misunderstanding about the number of years to which he could be sentenced. At the second hearing, Boldrey formally withdrew his plea and entered a second no-contest plea, this time under full understanding of what might lie in his future because of his decision in the past.

A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but an admission that the charges cannot be fought. It is treated as a guilty plea for sentencing purposes.

At the heart of the crime was the hallucinogen 25i-NBOMe, known by it street name of “N-Bomb.” Now fallen out of favor, the drug had a spike in popularity four or five years ago, when it was sought out as a substitute for LSD, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The drug sometimes leads to very extreme physical effects, with even minuscule amounts leading to seizures, cardiac and respiratory arrest, and death, according to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

Medical examiner reports studied by the DEA, as well as news items out of Britain and Australia, reveal stories of violent behavior leading to death as a result of ingestion of 25i. Teens and young adults have died when the drug caused them to burst into violence, flinging themselves at poles or walls or tearing up the inside of a vehicle before dying with very little internal evidence of the drug’s presence.

In Montmorency County in 2016, Boldrey decided to try 25i. The drug was given to him by Hubbard as they celebrated their upcoming adventures – Hubbard’s impending departure for college and Boldrey’s entry into the U.S. Air Force.

Shortly after ingestion, Boldrey exploded into a rage. He stabbed Hubbard and struck him with a vehicle, then broke into the home of Atkinson, who died trying to defended his wife, Debbie Wells, and Jeffrey Bauer, who was also in the home. Wells and Bauer survived but were beaten badly.

Eyes were dabbed with Kleenex on both sides of the courtroom at the second hearing as Boldrey gave a statement to the court before his sentencing. At his last sentencing, he said he tried to minimize his behavior, distancing himself from the thing he had done.

Now, though, he wanted to take ownership of his flawed thinking and bad decisions, of the fear and hurt that he had caused to strangers and to people he loved.

“I caused a whole community to feel unsafe,” Boldrey said. “It should have never happened. And it’s my fault.”

Boldrey’s attorney, Dan White, shared that, while in prison, his client has agreed to help with a drug and violence awareness program, a law enforcement effort to keep children and young adults from making the kind of mistake Boldrey made.

Behind the defendant, his mother and father watched their son silently, knowing that, whatever Mack’s decision, their child would still walk out of the room wearing chains.

anyways a few years ago my dad gave me this small box of stuff and i never looked thru it until now. what is any of this stuff and why did he give it to me?

a dropper/tincture(?) that's empty except for some white residue. printed label says it's 25i-nBOME & next to that (not visible in the pic) handwritten in black pen is "20 mg". this is the only thing that i know what it is, but somehow it's also the item that confuses me the most. i distinctly remember one summer asking my dad if he had ever done acid, and he said "no never have/never will" & went on this huge rant about how "it's a drug for crazy ppl—just look at your mom & grandma, they used to do acid all the time—explains a lot doesn't it?" i can't imagine any reason why he would have lied to me about that because, at the time that i asked him that, he knew but didn't care that i always had acid & would use it somewhat regularly (like he wasn't saying that to me in a moralizing way, he was just sharing his opinion & halfway joking). also, i've used meth with him before, so ofc he knows i wouldn't gaf even if he was seriously against any psychedelics. so what happened that he had an empty 25i-nBOME container & randomly gave it to me one day then never mentioned it ever? i'll always wonder, but i'll never ask...

the next thing is honestly scary as fuck to me. i have no clue what it could be. idk if y'all can read the words on the the black thing, but it says "BLIMPIE HUMIDIFIER". i googled it & if anything i'm even more confused now. i think maybe it's some kind of thing you're supposed to put in a bag of tobacco to keep it from drying out or something like that? not sure how it's supposed to work tho. and i assume that most ppl probably actually use it for weed, which makes sense bc my dad smokes weed literally 24/7. but what creeps me out about it is there's a crazy smell (idk how to describe it just it's strong & it's not very pleasant but not awful either, maybe like a chemical smell idk) as soon as u open the prescription bottle... and then there's whatever the fuck kind of residue on the sides of the container. looks like honeycomb or beeswax to me. not sure i just have a strong feeling that bees were somehow involved with whatever happened here. i almost wonder if this is a really normal weed thing like some kind of idk dabs or resin or rosin or whatever is the shit that the hardcore weed junkies smoke and if so thats fucked up i cant believe ppl are out here smoking ear wax off of nails with a blowtorch or whatever but that definitely seems like something my dad would do.

the last thing (3) says "LEWHIF" which according to google is like a recreational inhaler basically like apparently you use this to inhale dessert flavored air so i guess this is like what you might use if you want to vape but you can't because you have asthma. i don't really get the appeal but then again i don't have asthma so i guess this one isn't for me to understand...

Out of all the psychedelics ive taken, Nbome (25i) was one of the best. Pretty sure i gave myself some issues after taking it but man oh man it was awesome. I was kinda nervous, bc you CAN die from it very easily and the person who gave it to me had watched 3 people go into seizures after taking it. Part of me kinda hoped id die 🤣🤣

The effects were obviously similar to Lsd but it was so sharp and clear and robotic. Lsd is fluid and wavey, 25i is robotic and a electric. Some of the coolest visuals ever.

I get really tired physically when i continuously do drugs (i mostly mean weed since it's the only thing within my reach on a daily basis, but to add some context i also do acid, nbome and MDMA) which is a thing since i probably have some mild cfs or am simply depressed to the point of having a lot of disturbing physical symptoms.

Good for me i don't have any opioids available, since i would definitely go for it.

So, on some days, I stay sober. Just to get a bit of rest from constant disorientation, sleep deprivation and dizziness. And to save myself at least some appetite.

When I'm sober i feel nothing. I'm so numb, so fucking numb it's not even painful anymore. Sometimes this numbness is smooth and welcoming, and this is probably what a good meditation is supposed to result in. But more often than not this numbness shifts to boredom, unbearable anger, sometimes anxiety.

That's when i remember why i do drugs in the first place.
