ENDYMIONS → A WRITEBLR

hi! i’m +isa, she/her, and i’ve been around writeblr for a while :) i wanted to make a new intro (even tho i made one recently when i moved blogs) because its 2020 and i’m planning on working on some new wips! you may hear a little bit about my older wips, but they really need reworking, so i’m mostly going to focus on these new ones while i try and redevelop those! 

andromeda lux → andromeda is the last heir of her coven, and considered to be rather mediocre for such a station. when she comes into her true abilities after the death of her girlfriend, she realizes that she has everything, and nothing, all at once. when she and her girlfriend’s ghost find out that st. edmund’s university may have information on necromancy to restore alicia to life, the two meet a group of students who may be able to help.

empire of souls → the gods are dying. there is not enough magic left in the land after the colonial empire’s invasion to sustain them. arwen is the last champion alive, the only person left with enough innate magic to communicate with the gods. when she finds a dragon egg in the rubble of a monastery, the gods realize that this is their last, and only, chance to restore magic and save their land. together with the rightful princess and the colonial empire’s only prince, the three will have to do whatever it takes to save their magic, their gods, and their land, before it’s too late.

burn the world → eva and maggie chase are alone. the usa is a shadow of what it once was before the Destruction. now, as children and adults begin developing strange superpowers in the Aftermath, the government has a vested interest in taking them as living weapons. after eva gets taken away, maggie has to confront the gift she’s been hiding from her sister and from the world. together with others who have evaded the government’s eyes, maggie will have to launch the most dangerous rescue mission ever. if she succeeds, she, her sister, and their newfound friends still have to cross the border into canada, where they’ll be safe. if she fails, she forfeits her freedom. if she’s lucky, her life.

dial a for apocalypse → the eternal civil war of the gods has ended. evil has prevailed, and the world is falling into destruction. one goddess manages to escape the imprisonment of the losing side, landing on earth and hiding in the body of a human girl. with the help of her host and the host’s boyfriend, she’ll have to navigate teen life and the beginnings of the apocalypse, all the while formulating a plan to save her siblings and restore balance.

get to talk about whatever the fuck i want: free choice

one )  i write a lot of wlw ships and they are often the forefront of my wips, but when it comes to m/f ships i really try to show healthy dynamics bc i see far too often “straight” ships where the woman is making sacrifices for the guy and the guy isn’t bringing much to the relationship or supporting her as much, or some unhealthy emotional imbalances between them. and for example, nate and eurus aren’t on their own totally healthy people, but they make each other better, same thing with juliet and jack, both of them have a ton of trauma to deal with both physically and mentally and they are taking full responsibility for themselves in that respect while also supporting each other. like idk if im working it right but i think its important to write healthy ships between all genders, and while the circumstances of my wlw ships are more intense they too are two ppl coming together for the better.

two )   i hate monologues. that particular format of playwriting is just not something i vibe with at all. neither do i like poetry. reading it is fine, but school and being asked to analyse it killed it for me. and dont get me started on being TAUGHT it. i always hated poetry assignments bc the teachers always wanted us to write it in a particular format, and to me poetry needs to come from the soul and if you try to constrain it with rhyme schemes and pre established patterns then it takes all the heart out of it. anyway i have a monologue assignment and while i like what i wrote, i am like the least theatre-y theatre kid ever (for someone who did the school play for five years straight) and my writing just doesn’t vibe with it very strongly.

Writeblr Positivity Week, Day 3!

For the first seven days of NaNoWriMo, I’m shouting out random writeblrs I admire!

Today’s writeblr is @nepeinthe!

I don’t know them well, but they’ve put s o much work into creating a Discord for writers during NaNoWriMo and beyond. Not just creating it, but also concocting different events to keep us writing, figuring out the details of how to get bots put into the chats to help keep things organised, and more! 

It’s not just how much passion they put into something so lovely though. It’s also their writing, which is absolutely STUNNING from everything I’ve seen on their writeblr, and I can’t wait to hear more about all the stuff they’re working on!

this is from my wip hometown! probably the latest scene, where my main character isaac kisses the (wrongg sksk) love interest lol. 

Canis Major - Do you like writing character-driven stories or plot-driven stories?

tbh, i prefer a mix. most of my wips are a mix of both lol. but if i had to pick, i’d choose character-driven stories, as active characters are more interesting to write about, rather than characters who just react to the plot, in my opinion. wow that sentence was hella long lmao

29. Who do you write for?

Me!  I genuinely doubt any of these will ever be published, even if I’m interested in the act, so I just write for me.  Gets ideas out and is a good stress reliever, a good habit to be in.  I guess I also could write for a few friends like my writing wife?  It’s fun when they get hype as fuck reading excerpts I don’t share on here, so I like writing to make them happy.
