#RIP to the legacy post editor. you will be missed. while queueing this post and the last one it's removed the option for me to switch to the #old one and is making me use the new one. which is like not bad. it's not a bad editor. i just don't like change as most tumblr users don't #it also just appends the post you make directly to the top of the currently-displayed posts behind it even if it's not meant to go there #which is a little bit scary when i'm on the queue page and i click “add to queue” for a post that's supposed to go up on august 18th #to see it immediately appear above mega metagross. the legacy post editor didn't do that. it made you refresh the page if you wanted to see #your own new post on the dashboard. which i think was better!! honestly!! i've never Made a post using the new editor to see how it behaves #only ever queued up FFP using this thang. but that's also bc i feel like i don't post very much. i need smth Interesting to say when i post #on my main blog i mean. i don't make extraneous posts on here (usually) unless i'm answering an ask or something. which. still have yet to #miss one to this day. going strong #bibarel #can you tell idk what to say about this guy. what are they‚ water-type? big chance i'm fucking wrong and they're just pure normal #OKAY i was right. normal/water. semi-interesting typing and i get why they're a water-type. but. i never use. bibarel. even as a kid who #didn't understand or care about competitive. i knew bibarel was not very strong. it's a route 1 normal-type fucker. and maybe it's like #better than i think or something but tbqh it's a sinnoh 'mon and i already have another sinnoh water-type that has my heart. buizel #so bibarel was not so much in the cards for me. bro i should do like. a mono-type run of a pokémon game one day. that would be fu #do folks do that? is that a challenge run that actually exists? nuzlockes exist so i don't see why not. okay i'm doing it. my next replay o #any pokémon game is hereby decreed to be a water-type mono-type run. i may or may not liveblog it on my main blog #and it may or may not be nuzlocke. we shall see #hell maybe i'll stream it. maybe that could be fun. i don't know of *anyone* who would be interested in that but it tends to help me #actually go about completing games when i have someone there like. waiting for me to do so

the way the most recent pokemon games don't let you turn off the exp share or the affection mechanic bonuses is nothing short of maddening. i think they make great accessibility features If Only They Were Optional and the flavour text is cute, but i want to have a fun casual playthrough that's at least mildly challenging without having to make it a nuzlocke or something. i don't want to feed my starter bitter medicines to make her hate me :(

PLEASE.... #i can't do nuzlockes i do Not have the willpower to stick to the rules and they stress me out haha #anyway i am a fool who's left all of my DS games in norway and i got a hankering for replaying sinnoh games #so i decided to get shining pearl right. figured it might be fun even if ill miss the 4th gren spritework something fierce #what ensued was a needlessly complicated process just to get a copy that was slightly cheaper than full price nintendo blood money #there's a store that listed shining pearl at a lower price. not brilliant diamond - just pearl #i feel like maybe it's by mistake since that's the price of a nintendo DS cartridge. so maybe wires got crossed #the norwegian version of the store does NOT have the price disparity. #anyway i can't order online without a swedish phone number. and the local store is out of stock #so i have several long walks to the store to get them to order it in for me and then to order it delivered to me etc #and then of course another long walk to pick up the mail BUT I HAVE IT NOW. I HAVE VIDEO GAME #and it's very nice and nostalgic with a couple quality of life upgrades #my first pokemon game was pokemon diamond. when i got it i was still learning english and had no idea what was happening at any time #good times good times #obviously no pokemon run is ever gonna be as challenging as my first ever run #it does not need to be! u can immediately tell that a lot of difficulty in earlier games is that leveling up your team was a hassle #and almost always required grinding. i do not miss that at all ! but the remakes seem to be Extremely Faithful #so they're not rly structured around how fast you can level your whole team #or that your pokemon are gonna start doing extra crits or hold on to last HP before u even get to the third gym #OH WELL #you know what's very exciting for me though. i have a misdreavous!!! they're pearl exclusive and not in platinum #ive always wanted to do a sinnoh run with a misdreavous on my team for some reason

Love how it's mostly pretty ones and then there's clodsire. Even tho I got it in my team since the beginning of violet do I continuously forget its name bc I just call it by the nickname blobby (one of the rare times I didn't spend hours googling the perfect nickname but it nonetheless is a perfect one)

And for fun without any legendaries as fav

Reg nicknames I even write all down so I only spend decades once for each pkmn (unless I don't like the prev one anymore). Need to update that someday since it's mostly old revolution ones but hey. Blaze do I use for arcanine nowadays more and ninetails got others. Gardevoir got soteria nowadays which I prefer more. Etc.

Yes I prefer some fan evos more. #I keep wanting to play that fusion fangame and if you want to know what pkmn I like I found out I have a huge overlap w alpharad there #Which sucks for us both!
