how much meeting Miles Kane would mean to me, walked round the back of the venue after the gig and boom, he was there, gave him a hug, spoke to him, got complimented on my Baggio cover and smiled lots.
- love that Miles remembered that he reposted that cover and recognized him
Those Damn Crows Show Manchester Rock ‘N’ Roll Ain’t Dead
For those not familiar with Those Damn Crows, they’re a rock five piece from Bridgend, South Wales. They released their third album – Inhale/Exhale – in February of this year.
This was the first time this reviewer had seen Those Damn Crows headline since February 2020. The venue size was two-and-a-half-times larger than that gig, and the band made the most of it. They’ve always been great to…
Live Review: Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs at O2 Ritz in Manchester 30 September 2023

It seems like only yesterday that we were packed into the Star and Garter in Manchester to watch this relatively new band with a funny name creating a proper racket to a rapt crowd. Well, they were relatively new to us at least, but at that point we were catching Geordie lot Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs on their ascent. Darlings of BBC 6 Music (favoured by the one and…
I must admit I have never seen the Pretenders, for some reason they passed me by. I did have their first album back in the day and a couple of singles, but I was never a die-hard fan. I do admire Chrissie greatly though, she is a real rock and roll legend.
I had been wanting to photograph Chrissie ever since she made a comeback with her intimate shows and finally, I got to tick another bucket list off the list. As a bonus there was only two photographers in the pit this evening. I stayed until they played a few classics, this is what I was waiting for, I stood sidestage and listened to those incredible tunes played and the years just rolled by. Fantastic!!
“..an intimate gig full of Rock n' Roll classics, both old and new” says MK Bennett

Brilliant show last night from the amazing @joshuatbassett for his first time ever in Manchester playing at the @o2ritzmanc ! One of the most energetic performances I’ve ever shot but he still made so much time to connect with fans on the front row throughout the night, brilliant show to photograph and more pics to come! 🤩
Shot for the brilliant @musicwhynot
The White Buffalo – aka singer/songwriter/guitarist Jake Smith – played the O2 Ritz in Manchester, England on 16th July as part of his European tour.
Support on the tour, including this date, came in the form of the band LA Edwards. Their set consisted of nine songs, six of which were from their latest release Out Of The Heart Of Darkness.
Although Luke (LA) Edwards had a few comments to the…

With Sunday afternoon being all grey skies and a constant drizzle, the recommended course of action called for a nice warm bath and a snooze, rather than a trip into town to mingle with hundreds of punters, coughing their guts up, intent on talking their way through a show later that evening at The Ritz. On that – there’s a ‘no bags‘ notice at The Ritz these days – a ‘don’t…
