I am making a list of all of my books. I need to see what I have and also make it easier for me to make a reorganization plan.
I moved my entire room around a week ago and didn’t have the time to put the books back on there in any reasonable way. Not that they were every truly organized.
Lets see how far into this I can really get.
How do you organize your books and what is your method of getting started?

I’ve been MIA for a bit. I’m in a massive reading slump. I think I have read 20 pages since the middle of October.
I don’t feel in the mood to do anything. I just want to lie in bed or re-watch shows I’ve already seen a bunch of times.
I usually reread a book to get out of a slump, but I don’t have any books right now to reread.
Any suggestions on how you usually get out of a reading slump. I’m desperate!

2020 Goals Update #94: April 3rd
Watched Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn
Watched Sonic the Hedgehog
Went to bed
Watched The Hitman’s Bodyguard with my mom
Took a nap
Read Riot Baby for 30m 37s and read 58 pages
Wrote a third of page in my journal
Rewatched an episode of Psych
I finished The Meg around midnight last night and then watched Birds of Prey. I watched half of Sonic the Hedgehog and then went to bed around 4 AM. I was woken up at 8:40 AM to help bring in the groceries. After I had breakfast, my mom and I watched The Hitman’s Bodygaurd together. I had only had a few hours of sleep, so I took a nap around 2:30 PM. I didn’t get back up until 7:30 PM!! I remember waking up at 4:30 and thought just five more minutes and rolled back over to sleep. Nope, three more hours! I finished Sonic the Hedgehog and then got in my 30 minutes with Riot Baby.
Tomorrow, I hope we get my bookshelves put together. We have the wood now to reinforce the shelves, but they have to be cut to the right height. I guess, if my Grandpa will cut them for me, we will get them put together. That means I will probably spend a decent amount of time tomorrow rearranging my bookshelves. Bookly says it will take me an hour to finish Riot Baby, so I will try to get that done tomorrow too.

2020 Goals Update #204: July 22nd
Helped my mom with her test
Had quiz practice over voice chat in Discord, it was a lot of fun
Read The Assassin’s Blade for 1h 35m 26s and read 119 pages
Finished S3 of my Orphan Black re-watch
Wrote a paragraph in my journal
I continue to feel awful. I wanted to go to bed kind of early last night, but didn’t end laying down until 11:30 PM and then I didn’t get much sleep. I kept laying back down today to get sleep, but gave up after an hour or two. I am also nauseous all the time. My mom is thinking I am having an issue with my Gallbladder. I don’t see my doctor until the middle of August though. It’s that thing where I am tired of feeling sick and tired.
My days are the same lately. I’ll start the next season of Orphan Black and keep reading. Not much else going on.

How do you do it?
For folks that have a family, job, school, or anything else that requires your time and focus, how do you read so much?
I am unemployed and taking a break from school and I still don't read a lot.
I am hoping that I get that job tomorrow, so I wanted to know how y'all balance things?

March 2020 TBR
I’ve tried to stay away from making big and specific TBRs, it always seems to make me not want to read something. However, I do have a lot of books from the library and my bookclub reads to get to, so here are a few that I would like to read this month.
House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas, Bookclub of Mirth’s March pick [3.5.20]
Dead Wake by Erik Larson, On the Page’s March pick and my March nonfiction book
If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio
The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus #5) by Rick Riordan
Bird Box by Josh Malerman
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Circe by Madeline Miller
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck
I had War and Peace and Crime and Punishment on TBR last month, books that I have from February to June to read, and I didn’t really get into them. I loved almost all of the books I read last month and I think it is was because I had a smaller TBR. I know it is much longer for March, but that is because these library books are coming due and some of them I will not be able to renew because they are needed to fulfill another hold, so I want to focus on those right now.
What is your most anticipated read from your March TBR?

2020 Goals Update #3: January 3rd
Read time of 6h 46s for Ninth House, reading 344 pages and finishing the book
Read time of 44m 54s and 44 pages for I Am Malala
Wrote a few paragraphs in my journal
Played the Golems of Amgarrak DLC for Dragon Age Origins
Continued my rewatch of The Haunting of Hill House
Today was a good day. I got up at 8:30 AM and feel that I had a productive day. I finished my first book of the year and I’m making progress with one of my bookclub reads.
I think I want to start reading earlier in the day tomorrow. I didn’t start until noon today. Maybe if I do that, I have more time to break up the readings, if I feel like taking a break.

2020 Goals Update #65: March 5th
Read House of Earth and Blood for 8h 41m 46s and read 543 pages, finishing the book
Wrote a quarter of a page in journal
Yeah, I didn’t do a lot today. I read some before I went to bed at 5 AM and when I got back up around noon; I started reading again. I was determined to finish House of Earth and Blood and I did!! I think today was the biggest reading day I’ve had.
I will read at some point tomorrow, if only to get in my 30 minutes. I might watch some TV with my mom whenever she takes a break from working on her midterms.

2020 Goals Update #242: August 29th
Watched an episode of Dance Moms from S4
Watched an episode Lucifer from S2, real close to finishing it
Scrolled through TikTok
Went to bed
Got up at 8:40 AM for about an hour or so, after my mom told me my Granny passed away
Went back to bed and overslept until 4 PM
Had dinner with the family
Read In Cold Blood for 1h 7m 59s and read 55 pages
Wrote a quarter of a page in my journal
Today was just a bad day. We were supposed to be seeing my Granny tomorrow, so just to know that it will never happen is so strange and sad for me. I will miss her so much, but I know she was in so much pain and that she did not want to live. She has been struggling since my Grandpa died in September and has been sick ever since. She had a stroke a few days ago. I just hope she is at peace now. I ended up staying in bed all day. I finished my book and got in my journaling.
I will start a new book tomorrow. I would like to find a shorter book so I can try to finish it before the end of August. I just don’t want to get into a chonker unless I think I can finish it in time.

I’ve taken War and Peace out of October Goals. I still want to finish it before the year is over, but such a large book is putting stress on me right now. I think I will aim for maybe 10 to 20 pages a day and hopefully at some point I will get sucked in.
Does anyone ever get time anxiety like this? I felt I was already behind and it was stressing me.

2020 Goals Update #6: January 6th
Read I Am Malala for 2h 36m 32s, getting in the final 221 pages and finishing it around 7 PM
Played DAO for about an hour
Watched one episode of The Good Fight and re-watched an episode of  The 100
Implemented some self care with a shower and light beauty pampering
Wrote over half a page in my journal around 2:30 AM
Made a 2020 book goals post
Today was a great day. I finally took a shower, washing away that depression grime and then pampering myself with some of my beauty products on top of it.
I finished I Am Malala, which was another five star read, so starting off 2020 great with the book choices.
I think I will turn my full attention to The Starless Sea tomorrow and I will watch the Downton Abbey movie with my mom.

2020 Goals Update #9: January 9th
Read The Vegetarian for 1h 10m 5s and read 79 pages
Wrote a page and a half in my journal
Went to the doctor and was told that I need to lose weight (obvs.) and that I most likely have sleep apnea and that is the reason for being so tired and my headaches. He wants to see if my indigent care will cover a nocturnal polysomnography to see if I have it
I went to behavioral health and they will start me on Effexor for depression and change me from Trazodone to Remeron for my insomnia
Bought Waiting for Godot and Edith Hamilton’s Mythology from the thrift store
Re-watched half an episode of The 100
Played DAO for about an hour early this morning
Still in a good mood, but I’ve been exhausted all day. I’m glad my appointments are behind me and hope that whatever I do or don’t have, I can find a way to feel better. I need to find the right diet or way of eating and then turn that into a lifestyle change so I can be healthier.
Tomorrow we will stop by the thrift store to see if they still have the book Pregnancy Sucks: What To Do When Your Miracle Makes You Miserable. My sister finally revealed on Facebook she was preggers with her fourth kid. Her fourth kid, 11 years after her third. The kid she didn’t expect to become pregnant with at 35. I saw it earlier, and I was like nah, that’s mean. But honestly, she would probably enjoy it. Did she want another kid? No. Is she still happy for the kid coming? Yes. Does she hate being pregnant? YES. I hope it’s still there.
Anyway, after that we will come back home and my mom and I will both attempt to have a decent reading day. She just finished How Dare the Sun Rise: Memoirs of a War Child by Sandra Uwiringiyimana. She is trying to read more. I hope during tomorrow’s readathon I can finish both The Vegetarian and The Starless Sea.
What are your plans for tomorrow? Does your family like to read? Does your taste in reading overlap with your friends or family, or are they drastically different?

2020 Goals Update #54: February 23rd
Read The House of Hades for 34m 9s and got another 54 pages into it
Played Bioshock. I beat Bioshock Infinite last night
Wrote half a page in my journal
Another slow day. I went to bed around 4 AM and got up at noon for lunch, but then went back to bed until 4 PM. I need to get back into my routine. I wanted to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider but I guess the game is corrupted so I’m not able to. I started and stopped a few games but couldn’t get into any of them.
I’m going with my mom to campus tomorrow so I can stop sleeping in so late. I am hoping it will help me get back on the schedule I had before. I’ll get some reading in while I wait for her to get out of class.

2020 Goals Update #53: February 22nd
Read The Mark of Athena for 2h 23m 7s and read 243 pages, finishing the book
Read The House of Hades for 21m 55s and got 32 pages into it
Wrote half a page in my journal
Played outside with the puppers
I woke up at 4 PM!! I was not expecting to get up so late, but maybe my body needed the sleep. We burned our trash pile in the backyard, so I sat out there for about 30 minutes reading The Mark of Athena. I had to come in because there wasn‘t enough light to read by. I got on the couch and read with my doggos. I grabbed a pair of headphones to use so I could still read even with my grandpa watching tv. I will have to do that from now on. I enjoyed my time reading today. I started The House of Hades while I waited for my food to cook, but I am about to eat and then I might play my game a little.
I have no plans for tomorrow. I only know that I will read a book for 30 minutes and write something in my journal. I will probably read The House of Hades tomorrow, but I also need to start my nonfiction book of the month, so I might do that one instead. We shall see!!!
