TRACKING THE MCLARENS WHO BEFORE EVERYTHING WENT HORRIBLY WRONG WERE CLEARLY ONE OF THE FASTESTS? NOPE! TRACKING THE MAN HUNTING DOWN YOUR SECOND DRIVER FOR P2 IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP? NOPE! TRACKING THE MAN WHOSE 7TH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND DRIVERS AN ACTUAL TRACTOR ESPECIALLY IN THESE CONDITIONS? HELL YES!
Red Bull pitwall during qualifying...some teams are catching up...fight for P2 in the championship better really analyse their own data to see where they can make time up-

do you think Simon Rennie is watching? do you think he's rooting for Daniel? Do you think he has Daniel's onboard on his screen? do you think he's screaming at the screen telling Daniel what he should do? what he CAN do? 🥺🥲

Dotd voting always reminds me that the majority of the time people only pay attention to the cars in front and none of those in the back. There's always drivers who out drive max, but aren't in a position to win due to other circumstances, whereas he typically cruises in P1 for the entire race maybe dropping back into p4 at most, because he almost always starts on the first row too (a few races don't follow that pattern but that's the general).
Winning a race doesn't inherently make you the best driver of the day or the best of the year even, it just means you were in first at the right time and theres a lot that goes into that.
yep definitely agree, anon!
however i do vote for lewis every race no matter what because he is doing impossible things every race hehehe
but i liked that nyck won DOTD yesterday because he did a fantastic job just staying alive out there and holding position during his first F1 race!

you know what. speaking of people pleasing. It's starting to get exhausting hearing "oh I used to be one but then I stopped giving a fuck about what other people thought" when I tell people I'm a people pleaser. like man. that's great for you I'm happy for you. I have a deeply embedded guilt complex combined with codependent tendencies and a literal phobia of anger both in other people and myself
so it's gonna take a little more than "not giving a fuck"

summary: your heart stopped when you saw your boyfriend crashing out of the las vegas gp but you were more than happy to stay by his side through all the hospital stuff that followed
warnings: crash, mention of pregnancy
masterlist | taglist
"What was that?", you furrowed your brows. "What was what?", your mum asked, eyes still focused on the screen. "The camera, it looked like-", you stopped talking when the camera cut to a car in the barriers, dust all around it.
Your initial reaction was to look at the name board, to see whose name would drop down the order, to tell you which driver you were currently looking at. And your heart stopped when you saw the driver with the letters NOR dropping on the board.
You obviously were more than aware of the risks of racing, especially in street courses like this one. You basically grew up on track with your father but you never usually let yourself even think of the possibility that your boyfriend could have a big crash some day. You were scared to even imagine it, because the simple idea of losing him hurt too much for you to handle.
Your hand went up to your mouth, the fear clearly visible in your eyes, the other hand found its way to your stomach where your little 8 week old wonder was. The screen showed Lando’s dad with the same worried expression on his face before cutting to you.
"Mummy, what’s happening?", your two and a half year old daughter asked and tugged on the sleeve of your jacket.
You tried to look at your dad on the pitwall, watching as he clicked on Lando’s onboard and then lifted his thumb.
Your mum shook her heard, making your father stand up and walk across the pitlane to you.
He squeezed your arm to get you to look to him. "He’s moving, darling. He’s okay, he was on the radio and said he’s okay", he tried to calm you down but the tears were still brimming in the corner of your eyes.
"I have to see him", you muttered, pressing your daughter Amelia closer to you. The girl whose eyes looked like an exact replica of Lando’s looked up to you. You could see how worried she was getting from seeing that you weren’t ok.
"They are taking him to the medical center, love, you won’t be allowed in", Christian tried to sooth you but it wasn’t working. "I have a child with him, they will let me in and I don’t care if not, I have to see him!", you spoke and stood up, still with Amelia pressed to you.
"Do you want me to take her?", Geri asked but you immediately shook your head. "No, I need her with me", you mumbled and hurried through the Red Bull garage and down the paddock to the Mclaren one on wobbly legs. Cisca was the first person to catch you and immediately came over to wrap you into a hug.
"Is he okay?", you asked, your voice breaking while your lips quivered. Amilia clung to your jacket, burying her head in the crook of your neck. "He said he is but his voice told a different story", she said, holding you tight.
You looked over at Adam and Will, both studying the screen in front of them closely. You looked at your daughter. "Baby, look, grandma is here. Do you want to go to grandma for a second?", you talked to her in a soothing voice.
Amelia shook her head slightly. "Stay with you, Mummy", she muttered and snuggled closer. You nodded and walked over to Lando’s dad and engineer. Adam’s eyes softened when he saw you and his grandchild and wrapped an arm around you immediately.
"Can I hear his radio?", you asked quietly. Will hesitated a second but gave you his headphones before replying Lando’s crash.
Your heart broke when you heard his shaky voice and heavy breaths, the tears spilling out of your eyes. You put the orange headphones down again and leaned your head against Adam’s shoulder.
"Shhh, he’s okay. He’s alive and walking which is the most important thing", Adam whispered and pressed a light kiss to your hair.
"Y/n, Lando’s asking for you", you heard a voice behind you. One of the engineers looked at you, scratching the back of his head. "There’s some medical guy outside who wanted me to get you."
You brushed your tears away with the sleeves of the Red Bull jacket you were wearing and nodded.
You grabbed Lando’s Mclaren cap from the pult he always throws his stuff on before racing and put it on your head, pulling the front further down to keep your face hidden from photographers.
Cisca, Adam and you followed the medical person to the medical center. "Where are we going, mummy?", your daughter asked, slight fear in her voice because she didn’t know what’s going on. "We’re going to see daddy, okay?", you muttered. "Isn’t daddy racing?", she replied with a frown.
"You actually are not allowed inside the medical center but he keeps asking for you and won’t hold still so we thought it might be better to make an exception. Third door on the left", the medical guy told you when you arrived. You thanked him and handed Amelia to Cisca before hurrying down the hallway, opening the door without even thinking of knocking.
Lando sat on a stretcher, race suit hanging from his hips, the top of the fireproof next to him and his hair a mess from the helmet he was wearing only a couple of minutes before.
"Baby", he spoke, his voice sore and breaking at the end. He looked groggy and out of it.
The doctor looked up from inspecting Lando’s wrist and was visibly ready to scold you for intruding the room like that but you didn’t even acknowledge him.
Your full focus was on Lando and you hugged him tight, bringing your hands up to his curls and breathing in his familiar scent.
"Thank God", you muttered and pressed him a bit tighter. "I’m sorry for scaring you", he mumbled.
"Ma’am, I am sorry but you are not allowed in here", the doctor cleared his voice and dropped Lando’s wrist. You pulled back from Lando but before you could say anything, he spoke up.
"No, no, it’s okay. I need her here!"
He grabbed your hand and brought the other to your small bump. "Can’t have you and little me in there worrying too much", he slurred, making you gently hit the back of his head. "Hey hey hey, carful there! I’ve just been in a car crash", he joked and pinched your side.
His eyes fluttered and he put his head against your chest. "Did you give him any pain meds?", you wanted to know, brushing your fingers through his hair.
"No, just something to calm him down as he wouldn’t hold still and kept turning away", the doctor told you. "Yeah because you said she can’t come!", Lando argued like a little kid, making you chuckle. "Somehow she still found her way in here", the doctor eyed you skeptical but you didn’t let it bother you.
Your complete focus was on Lando being ok after the crash, on having him inside your arms.
"From what I can tell, he hasn’t broken any bones, just some heavy bruises but I will transfer him to the University medical center for further check ups. They will do a CT scan and probably an ultrasound of his right leg. They will also give him pain medication as I am not allowed to decide that", he gave you a quick run of what would happen next.
You simply nodded and pulled Lando a bit closer. "The ambulance should be here any second."
"Come on up, we gotta get you to the ambulance and your parents and Amelia are in the hallway", you tapped the back of his head with your fingers to get him to sit up.
Lando slid down from the stretcher and reached for his fireproof. "They will probably check your vitals and put stickers on your chest so it’s not necessary to put this one back on", the doctor told him.
"But it’s cold", Lando almost whined which made you chuckle. "I can give you my Red Bull jacket", you teased him, wrapping one arm around his waist to keep him up steady.
You followed the doctor and exited the room. You noticed Lando limping a little but swallowed down your worry until the hospital doctors could confirm to you what’s wrong.
"Daddy!", Amelia called when she spotted the two of you. She wanted to wriggle out of her grandma’s arms but Cisca held her securely and waited until you reached them.
"Hey, princess", Lando smiled, caressing the top of her head and leaning down to press a kiss to her hair. Adam put a hand on Lando’s upper arm and squeezed it comfortingly.
"They are taking him to the hospital for further check ups", you told them and nodded towards the exit. "Ambulance is there."
You greeted the paramedics and let them bring Lando inside, watching as they strapped him on a gurney and just like the doctor had told you earlier, put on some stickers with cables.
"Can I ride with him, please?", you asked the man who was about to close the door. "Are you family, miss?", he asked sternly. "I’m his girlfriend and the mother of his child", you said, pointing at Amelia behind you.
"Sorry, miss. Family only!", he said but got interrupted by Lando calling out for you. "Can you get Y/n? I need her here, please!"
You raised an eyebrow and the guy sighed before nodding inside the ambulance. You thanked him and then turned around to face Lando’s parents. "Can you take Amelia with you?", you asked and Cisca nodded immediately.
You smiled thankfully and turned around to sit next to Lando, grabbing his hand and holding it tightly as the medics put more stickers to his chest.
"I was so worried about you", you mutter and pressed a light kiss to his knuckles. "I’m okay, look at that", Lando said and pointed to the screen monitoring his heartbeat. "It looks like hills, wow", he stunned, making you and the paramedic who had just gave him an injection of provably pain meds, chuckle.
*~*~*~*~*~*
After Lando’s labs came back clear, you felt a lot better knowing that he was actually fine. He still sat on the hospital bed, shirtless and his racing suit covering the lower half of his body.
The pain meds he was given earlier however were still working full time.
"Babyyy!", he called for you and made grabby hands in your direction. You chuckled and handed Amelia to Cisca who stood with her husband by the door.
"How’re you feeling, baby?", you asked with a smile and stroked your fingers through his curls. "I’m GREAT!! How is little me?", he grinned and pointed to your small bump and put his hand over your shirt.
"Wait, you’re pregnant??", Cisca suddenly exclaimed. Lando smiled and nodded eagerly. "Yes with little me this time! Well we don’t know yet but I have a feeling it’s gonna be a boy!", Lando started blabbering and you now only realized that he had given away your little secret while talking to you and put your head on his shoulder.
"You’re unbelievable!", you chuckled, gently slamming your head on his shoulder a couple of times. "Why?", Lando asked confused and looked at you. You simply shook your head and patted his curls a few times.
"Well, this isn’t how we wanted to tell you but… Surprise! You’re gonna be grandparents!", you called awkwardly.
"Oh my god!", Cisca called and hurried over to pull you into a tight hug. Adam patted Lando’s shoulder with a wide smile. "Congrats", he smiled and pulled him in for a side hug. "I can’t believe this, this is awesome!!", Lando’s mum smiled, pressing a kiss to her son’s head.
"Oh yeah, Singapore WAS awesome!", he crackled, smiling like the the proudest person to walk the planet. You gasped audibly and hit his bare stomach. "Lando!!", you scolded.
"Heyy, I’ve been in a car crash, remember?", he joked, still laughing. "I don’t care. You deserved that", you shook your head in disbelief of what he just said.
Amelia started wriggling in Cisca’s arms. "Daddy!", she cranked and stretched her arms out for her father. Cisca smiled and handed Amelia to Lando who put her on his lap.
"Mr. Norris, I’m glad you are up and alright", the doctor spoke but Lando interrupted him. "Just a second, please!"
"Hey, baby", his smile brightened and he pressed Amelia to his naked chest.
The doctor smiled at the interaction and quietly left the room to stand in front of the closed door to give you some privacy.
"What’s up, baby?", Lando smiled when he noticed Amelia’s hands on his left wrist. He looked down to see her playing with the white wristbands the hospital put on him when he was admitted.
"They are cool, right?", he smiled. "It’s like a friendship bracelet!", Lando laughed. "It even says daddy’s name", he showed her the letters on the white bracelet spelling out Lando Norris.
Amelia let out a small laugh, like she always did and everything Lando did.
A content smile made its way on your face. Looking at Lando with your daughter and your one hand on your belly you knew you had everything you needed.

Humans are Space Orcs - Chocolate
"Ugh, I would kill for some chocolate right now."
Gorvan fumbled the holopad he'd been typing on, all four hands brushing against the screen as he tried to keep it from hitting the ship floor. He failed and it bounced off the tiles - thankfully neither breaking, nor denting the flooring. Grimacing, he swept it up with his tail and checked over the casing, before the alarming words registered in his head. A glance at the couch showed the human - Max - hadn't moved - still twisted up in their weird, pretzely way, chin in their weird five-fingered hand as they peered at the passing stars with a far-away look in their eyes.
"You, uh, want...chocolate?" He asked, certain he'd misheard.
"Oh my god, yes." Max heaved a sigh, shoulders rising to their weird, inefficient ears before dropping back down. "Jesus, I'd even eat a Hershey's Bar right now."
Gorvan gripped his tablet with two of his hands, hard enough to crack the casing. "Oh, um - what is a 'Hershey'?"
Max didn't look away from the window, still lost gazing into the galaxy. "It's a type of chocolate bar from Earth. Maybe a Mars Bar or a Milky Way would be better..."
Gorvan huffed through his nostrils, tail lashing anxiously behind him. "Oh. Um. I - er, I forgot I have a meeting with Captain! I have to go." Without waiting for an answer he turned and fled the recreation room, hooved feet clattering against the floor, desperate to report what he had heard. He missed the bemused look Max gave him before returning to his star gazing.
🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫🌌🍫
"Max."
The human paused upon entering the meeting room, seeing the rest of the C7H8N4O2 Star Explorer gathered around the table. All eight were tense in their seats, and the moth-like Elaana looked like she'd been crying. (Well, the species equivalent, which appeared as a dusting of pollen along her sharp cheekbones.)
Taurvin, the captain, was sitting in the largest seat at the head of the table, his considerable bulk looming over the rest of them. Oddly, the first-mate seat to his left was empty. Gorvan was instead sitting in Max's own.
"Uh, hey all. We playing musical chairs?" Max glanced between the empty chair and Gorvan, but when nobody asked for an explanation to their odd human reference (a common occurrence), they figured it wasn't the time for jokes.
"Have a seat, Max." Taurvin motioned to the first mate seat and, with a bit of hesitation, Max moved to take it. Luckily Gorvan, despite being bulky himself, wasn't too much larger than a standard human and the chair was comfortable enough. "We have something important to address."
Oh god above, what had they done this time? Max tried to think back to all the interactions he'd had onboard the last few weeks, but couldn't come up with anything too egregious. Sure, there was the whole joke with 'human snot is acidic' thing but that had been more of a gross-out joke for Elaana, the ships medic, who hadn't seemed to upset when he accidentally sneezed on her a few days later and dropped the act. Epitak, the ships engineer, had been pretty pissed when ze found out Max had taken apart the air filtration unit in their quarters to try and understand how it worked, but ze had also walked him through repairing it, so they thought it was all forgiven.
Oh jeeze, had they found the plans to get a kitten onboard under the 'emotional assistance animal' loophole?
"Max." Taurvin's normally jolly voice was grave, and all the crews eyes were on them as he spoke. "It has come to my attention that you have been expressing some...troubling thoughts."
Okay, definitely the kitten thing then. "Look, I can explain," they started, but Taurvin held up a large, three-fingered hand and stopped them.
"I do not want you to feel pressured to speak to us if you do not wish to. As a member of the Intergalactic Exploration Society, you have access to mental health resources at no cost, any time, anywhere. I will be more than happy to assist you in setting up a link to a therapist through HR and, if required, will grant you time off the ship if you need it. You are the best navigator I have ever seen, and I do not want to lose you."
"Well, thanks, but uh, what do you mean?" Max glanced around the table and noticed that their normally upbeat crew were all showing signs of distress (Elaana was brushing away newly fallen pollen from her compound eyes).
"Max, you requested chocolate." Gorvan reminded them. "This morning, you said you would even eat a substance known as a Hershey Bar from your home planet." The human had never heard the first mate sound so distressed. When Max just blinked, Epitak took over, beak clacking anxiously as ze spoke.
"We understand that many planets have government programs in place for self euthanasia," ze explained, technical as always in his word choice, "but we aboard this ship would much rather assist you in healing rather than lose you, despite what you may feel is best for you. Suicide by theobromine is not the way forward."
"...what."
"It's okay, love!" The pollen was flowing freely from Elaana's eyes now, and she blinked it away with her long lashes. If there weren't a table between them, Max was sure she would have bundled them up in a full-wing hug and refused to let them go. "We'll support you through it all, we promise. You're part of our crew - our family, and we never want you to feel otherwise!"
"Well, uh, thanks. I see you all as family too...?" Max glanced at the four remaining crew members. Dhaca and Lenzoill were quiet but obviously upset, Qhals was staring at the ceiling with their fanged muzzle pulled into a tight grimace, and Ir'ith was -
Ir'ith was smirking.
Max narrowed their eyes at the inventory manager who also served as the ships cook (for the simple fact that he was the only one onboard who could cook). The zad merely shrugged when their eyes met, though his grin was growing.
"I think I'm missing something here." Max admitted, looking between Gorvan and Taurvin. "This is all because I got a chocolate craving?"
"A craving?" Elaana almost lunged across the table at the word, the only thing holder her back Ir'ith's hand on her shoulder. "You mean you've had chocolate before?"
"Well, yeah? All the time." Max was not expecting the horrified expressions they received.
"So humans treat theobromine as a drug?" Epitak asked, aghast.
"Noooo...? It's a dessert. Like, a sweet treat." Max had no idea what was going on now, but by the way Ir'ith's shoulders were shaking, he did. "Hershey's is a candy bar."
"Wait," Dhaca finally spoke up, leaning forward and shoving his glasses (well, glass - one lens for one eye and all) to the top of his head, "theobromine is not toxic to humans?"
"I'm assuming that theo-stuff is chocolate?" When Dhaca nodded, Max nodded in return. "Yeah, no, chocolate isn't toxic to humans. I ate it all the time on Earth."
Ir'ith gave up and cackled, sounding a bit like the grackles Max used to watch in their back garden on Earth. The avian's wings flapped a few times as he laughed, having to lean forward and grasp his stomach with taloned claws to keep himself from falling out of his chair. When he finally glanced up at Max, it was to the flattest look the human could manage, which only sent him into another gale of laughter.
Taurvin sighed, pinching the bridge of his boar-like snout. "I believe this has all been a misunderstanding," he spoke over the cooks laughter, which had turned into squeaky gasps. "Dismissed."
A few befuddled glances were thrown Max's way, but the rest of the crew were quick to leave, avoiding Ir'ith's flapping wings as they squeezed out of the room. Soon only the cook, first mate, captain, and navigator were left.
"Sorry, kid." Ir'ith finally came up for breath, wiping at his eyes as he regained his composure. He fished into one of the many pockets that adorned his poncho and produced a bar wrapped in purple foil, which he tossed to Max. The human caught it and felt their whole face light up. "No hard feelings, right?"
"None at all, dude!" Max tore open the wrapping and took a big bite of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Bar, nearly melting at the familiar, sweet flavor exploding on their tongue.
"For the record," Ir'ith said as he stood, cracking his back, "Zad's can eat chocolate to. Let me know next time you have a craving." He sauntered out of the room, humming happily.
The three sat in silence for a moment, other than the crinkle of the chocolate bar wrapper. Finally, Taurvin cleared his throat.
"Max, I apologize for not conferring with you in private beforehand." The captain sighed. "I did not wish to embarrass you, but an intervention was suggested and I believed that comfort from your crew would be the best way to show the seriousness of our support were you truly entertaining the thought of self euthanasia."
The human shrugged. "It was nice to hear you all care about me, even though I've only been on board a few months," they admitted. "And I got chocolate out of it." He wiggled the remains of the bar.
"Still, if you ever feel the need for mental health services, they are available to you. And if there is ever anything I or the rest of the crew can do to assist you in that way, please don't hesitate to ask." Taurvin placed a hand on his chest and bowed his head, a show of sincerity for his people.
"Well," Max tapped the chocolate against their chin in thought, "there may be one thing. Have you ever heard of cats?"

Onboarding Employees Virtually During COVID-19
How would you handle onboarding employees virtually during the coronavirus pandemic? Would you prefer to hire remote or virtual staff? What are some ways you can ensure they stay productive and engaged? Learn more: https://blog.hirenest.com/hiring-and-onboarding-employees-virtually/
Tumblr media
The coronavirus has forced organizations across the globe to adapt their operations to new working conditions. Many companies are now hiring remotely, and even offering flexible hours and telecommuting options. This means that employees who previously worked from home are now being asked to return to the office.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, businesses around the world are adapting to the changing environment. In order to remain competitive and continue operating effectively, many companies are turning to virtual onboarding programs. These programs allow employees to complete the necessary paperwork and training without having to physically travel to the company headquarters.
Virtual onboarding programs provide several advantages. They reduce employee exposure to the virus by limiting physical contact between coworkers. They also help retain talent by allowing workers to work at home. And finally, they save money because fewer people will need to be hired and trained.  You can find out more in our article: https://blog.hirenest.com/hiring-and-onboarding-employees-virtually/
Tumblr media
A recent study found that the majority of Americans (68%) believe that the government should require all employers to offer paid sick leave. But only one third of those surveyed said they had ever taken advantage of this benefit.
Make Information technology your first priority for new hires
If you don’t know what it takes to hire great people, then you’re not going to attract them. It doesn’t matter if they’ve got experience or not – you want to find out why they left their last job, what they liked most about it, and what they didn’t like so much.
Hire people who will fit into your culture and values. People who share your vision and values will work harder than those who don’t. They’ll feel more engaged and motivated by the company’s mission and goals. And they’ll give you better results because they’ll do things differently from everyone else.
The best way to build trust between employees and management is to listen. Don’t just ask “what’s wrong?” but really try to understand where they’re coming from. This means asking lots of questions, listening carefully, and being genuinely interested in what they say.
The key to hiring is to look beyond resumes and cover letters. Look at candidates’ social media profiles, LinkedIn profile, and online presence. Ask friends and colleagues to recommend them. Check references. Interview them face-to-face.
A recent study found that the average person spends around 40 hours per week working. That includes commuting, meetings, emailing, phone calls, and all sorts of other activities. So if you’re spending that many hours each week doing something you hate, chances are you’re not getting enough rest and relaxation.
Tumblr media
Virtual Onboarding Is the Future
The future of onboarding looks like virtual onboarding. It’s not just a matter of replacing paper forms with digital ones; it’s about creating new ways to help people understand what they should do next. This includes using AI to automate tasks, making sure users know where to find information and tools, and providing guidance through every step of the process. In this article we will discuss some of the best practices for building a successful onboarding flow.
What Are Some Best Practices for Building Successful Onboard Flow?
The onboarding process is critical because it sets the tone for the rest of the customer journey. It should start by providing clear information about what the product does, why people would want it, and how they can benefit from using it. This helps customers understand whether this solution will work for them.
Tumblr media
In addition to creating a positive first impression, onboarding flow needs to provide users with all the necessary tools and resources they need to succeed. For example, if a user signs up for a new service, he or she may not know where to find help or how to access the features. An effective onboarding flow includes instructions on how to navigate the platform, links to additional content, and any required forms or documents.
A great onboarding experience makes a lasting impact. If a user has a bad experience during the onboarding process, he or she might never return to try out the product again. So, it's important to build a seamless onboarding flow that provides the right amount of guidance and information at each step.
Build a Strong Virtual Hiring Process
The first step is to set expectations around what it will take to onboard new employees. This includes creating a virtual job description, which should include information like the skills needed, qualifications required, and any special training or certifications they may require. Once you’ve created this document, you’ll want to share it with potential hires so they know exactly what they’re getting into before they start working for you.
If you’re hiring remote workers, you’ll still need to provide them with some form of compensation, whether it’s weekly paychecks or biweekly checks sent through PayPal. Make sure you outline all the details in your contract, including the number of hours worked per week, vacation days, sick leave, and anything else you feel is necessary. In addition to setting clear expectations, you’ll also want to establish a culture where everyone feels comfortable sharing feedback. It’s important to note that not every employee will be able to give constructive criticism, but if you don’t allow people to speak freely, you won’t be able to identify problems early on. As we mentioned earlier, one of the biggest challenges of hiring remote workers is providing them with a steady paycheck. To avoid having to worry about payroll issues, you might consider using a some service to send out biweekly payments instead of paying each individual worker once a month. Another challenge of hiring remote workers is scheduling meetings. Since most companies aren’t located near each other, it’s hard to schedule regular face-to-face meetings. Instead, you’ll probably want to hold video calls at least twice a week.
While many businesses offer flexible work arrangements, most only do so for part-time employees. But if you’re looking to hire someone full-time, you’ll likely need to offer something extra to entice them to join your team. For example, you could offer health insurance coverage, paid maternity/paternity leave, or a 401(k) plan.
Conclusion
The coronavirus pandemic has forced organizations across industries to rethink business practices. In response, some companies are using technology to help employees work remotely while others are looking into new ways to onboard new hires virtually. Some businesses are offering remote working options to their staff, including Google, which has said it will pay 100% of its eligible Googlers through June 30, 2020. Other tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple and Netflix are also providing similar programs.
Companies are also leveraging virtual meetings and online training courses to keep their workers engaged during this period. For example, LinkedIn recently launched a series of free webinars on topics ranging from digital marketing to leadership skills. If you want to know more about Hiring and Onboarding Employees Virtually During COVID-19: A Guide, read this article: https://blog.hirenest.com/hiring-and-onboarding-employees-virtually/

"Red flag Max, red flag." Comes GP's voice over the radio.
Something in his stomach dropped at the words. Crashing is a risk they all take every time they get into the car, but that dosen't it isn't hard when it happens.
"Who was it?" His fingers crossed. Silently begging whoever controlled fate that it was neither a McLaren nor a Ferrari. He's not sure he could handle it.
"It's a Ferrari."
"Who?"
"Y/N"
His heart dropped. She'd been called to drive in place of Carlos. The Spainard had caught Covid and was out for the entire triple header. She'd gotten a chance, and now she'd crashed out.
"Is she okay?"
"Max-"
"Is she okay, GP? Please, I need to know." His heart is beating faster then he would’ve liked, but he can’t help it.
“They haven’t gotten a response yet. Ferrari was checking to see the damage on the car but haven’t gotten a response yet-”
“They were checking on the car?!” Max’s blood is boiling as he peels into the pit lane. He rips himself out of the car as marches to where GP and Christian are presumably waiting for him. They look neutral at the moment.
Christian grabs him by the shoulders to stop him from going any further, but it doesn’t matter. The screen is replaying the crash. Something must have happened with the steering and braking because the car just didn’t slow down. It hit the wall at 200 mph. The Ferrari car is stuck in the barriers. The fence having come down on top of her, essentially burying the car underneath.
“Any word yet?” His voice breaks. eye’s still trained on the screen as it shows the Marshalls trying to pull the debris away.
“Still nothing. They lost the onboard footage and can’t see her vitals.”
Max is about to jump into a rant. His anger at Ferrari still boiling. That is - until Lando comes barreling into him. The Brit is out of breath and flushed. “Haven you looked at your phone?”
All three Redbull members stare at him in confusion. Lando looks between them expectantly. “Well somebody better get Max his phone because Oscar is about thirty seconds away from killing everyone in the Ferrari garage.”
Max runs to grab his phone and comes back to Lando who is waiting impatiently for something. Texts from Charles and Carlos about what they know, A missed call from Oscar- “I don’t see anything apart from the usual.”
Land rips the phone out of his hands and pulls up his instagram. Then he find the Ferrari page and and taps on their story. He hands the phone back with sad eyes.
Within the mess or a PR scripted excuse, one thing sticks out to him the most: ‘driver error.’ Max the pulls up Charles’ texts. His hands are shaking with the impending appearance of Mad Max.
Charles gives him the whole story. ‘Don’t believe the story! I saw the data, it was the teams fault.’
“Oscar saw this, didn’t he?”
“Kim, Jon, and Andrea are keeping him confined, but unless you want to be outed to the world I suggest you come help.”
Max looks at the screen. Still no sign of life. The car is still buried.
Then he looks to his team principal for approval. Christian nods and then the two are ducking and dodging cameras.
Oscar isn’t mad often. Rarely, even. He has so much patience for people that Max sometimes wonders where he puts it all.
He found out after the Qatar sprint. Max was getting some nasty hate. It was under every photo Redbull or himself put out. He simply put his phone away and tried not to let it bother him. Their female lover saw but knew better then to start something and decided to, and he quotes, ‘fuck the diets and eat Max’s favorite.’ Which the Dutch had been more then happy to do.
Oscar on the other hand was going to chew out every person who boo’d at max on their way to the hotel. Oscar’s anger comes in the form of harsh words and stupid actions until it turns to wet and it’s like every emotion he’d been stifling hits him all at once. Then it’s all teary eyes a cracked voices.
Max and Lando round the corner and sneak through the back of the McLaren garage. Straight into Oscars room where they are supposed to find him.
He is, in fact, nowhere to be seen.
Max makes a break for the Ferrari garage. He wants to be relieved when he sees the Australian with Charles, but he can’t be because he’s with some of the Ferrari staff as well.
He breaks the circle and sets a, hopefully calming, hand on Oscar’s shoulder. “Any news on her condition?” The men in red shoot him dirty glares as he interrupts whatever they were talking about previously.
“No.”
Okay, rude.
Charles clears his voice. “Actually, me and Oscar were just discussing her condition. They pulled her out of the car - but it doesn’t look good. The FIA might stop the race because of the barrier.”
“Thank you for the update, Charles. We’ll be going now.” Max and Lando have to drag a ver stubborn Oscar away.
They pile into Lando’s room since it’s closer and Oscar collapses. Him and Max almost topple over together. “They said it’s her fault when it’s not!”
“I know. It’s out job to make sure she knows that too. Chewing out Ferrari isn’t going to help.” At the moment, Max can’t help but finish in his head.
They take some time to calm down before heading back out. They are greeted with the news that the race has been cancelled due to the barrier meaning that the two are free to leave.
Which they do, with incredible speed.
She had to be transferred to the hospital. According to the doctor that greets them, she’ll make a full recovery but it will take a while to get there. A few broken bones, some internal bleeding, a concussion, a major gash, but she’s alive. That’s what matters.
Oscar and Max spend the night in her room. The two patiently waiting for her to wake up. Charles had dropped by with Lando to bring them her stuff and see how she’s doing. Max was happy they brought food and Lando actually took to force feeding Oscar.
They wake the next morning to quiet sniffles. Max cracks his eyes open to see her, staring at her cell that Max left on the side table, with tears streaming down her face.
He is up and alert in a second with Oscar coming to slowly. “Schat, talk to me.”
She just hands over her phone without saying anything and Max scrolls through it for a few moments. Apparently Ferrari’s statement went further then he thought. Again, they are playing the blame game.
And no, absolutely not. Max Verstappen is not the kind of man to let her believe this. He turns off the phone and tosses it aside before Oscar can see. He really doesn't need another passive-aggressive Assie incident.
"Charles saw the data. It was the car. It wasn't your fault."
"But everyone is believing it was. How am I supposed to build a career now?" She sobs. The EKG is beeping wildly with her heart.
Oscar, in his sleepy state, switches from leaning on Max to climbing into bed with her. It works like a charm, and she starts to breathe again. It's labored, but it's calming down, at least.
"You'll show them. The data will come out eventually." Oscar mumbles into her shoulder.
"And until then -" Max intertwines hands with both his lovers. "- We'll defend you because we love you."
