aaaaaaaaaa thank u so so much dear??? i'm so glad you enjoyed it 🥺🥺 oof YES it felt like such a fun juxtaposition of diluc's still (somewhat) fresh anger presented in contrast to zhongli's calmer demeanor - after all, he's seen what war does to people, has experienced it himself, even if it was a long time ago. i definitely had a good time with diluc's actions - while, in his mind, entirely justified - being overtaken by zhongli's much more peaceful actions and, ultimately, diluc being forced to acknowledge that violence isn't always the only solution (cue morality crisis that i'd love to expand on in the future in this story!!)
