I did this a while ago as part of a month of maps which got put on pause, and I just wanted to look at the vector data from the OSM maps over a colourised Hillshade. I quite like it.

Imagine a Pepper Ann Digimon AU where it’s like my Fillmore! AU where the characters are Digimon, Pepper Ann has never digivolved past Rookie/Child-level while most of her classmates have reached Champion/Adult-level at least once in their lives and it’s considered a ‘rite of passage’.

I haven’t decided everyone’s forms but I feel Moose is a Lopmon (and maybe Pepper Ann is a Terriermon?) and I think it’d be so funny if like Moose just fucking randomly digivolved to Mega/Ultimate (Not the dub version of ultimate, obviously) out of literally nowhere and nobody questioned it. “Oh, that’s just Moose.”

~ Tohle na mě dnes vyskočilo a já myslím, že to je krásný. Poslední dobou zkoumám, jak moc - zásadně a ve všech ohledech - úhel pohledu ovlivňuje náš život, a jak jsme pro ten jeden konkrétní pohled na svět zaťatý a třeba nevidíme cestu ven, smysl, radost... a pak jsme nešťastní, v depresi a ničíme sebe a všechno kolem.

Jo a tohle je "jen" další z řady mnoha a mnoha znamení, která se mi ukazují.

Erste Auswirkungen des DMA

Warum Google nicht mehr funktioniert

... fragt der Stern mit Blick auf Google Maps und gibt Tipps, was man ändern soll. Dem müssen wir widersprechen, denn einige Funktionen funktionieren neuerdings nicht mehr, weil die EU  Google endlich verboten hat, seine vielen Dienste zu verknüpfen. Man kann natürlich dieses Verbot durch eine eigene Einwilligung wieder zunichte machen.

Das sollte man nicht tun, sondern lieber Google Maps gleich durch Open Street Map, eine kostenlose und freie Open Source Software ersetzen. Das bringt gleich 2 Vorteile:

Google bekommt unsere Daten nicht mehr,

die Landkarten App funktioniert auch in Gegenden ohne Netzabdeckung, weil sie die Landkarten lokal auf dem Gerät hat und unterwegs kein Netz benötigt.

Dass Google keine Daten mehr verknüpfen darf, ist eine Folge des seit dem 7. März geltenden Digital Markets Act (DMA). Damit  haben die Europäer sechs Unternehmen und 22 Dienste identifiziert, denen als sogenannte "Gatekeeper" zu viel Macht vorgeworfen wird. Diese dürfen nun die uns entwendeten Daten aus verschiedenen App nicht mehr miteinander austauschen.

Damit kann Google u.a. auf seinen Landkarten z.B. keine Hinweise mehr auf Gaststätten und Shops anzeigen.

Von Zeit zu Zeit muss ich einfach an den Rhein. Manchmal packt mich einfach ganz spontan die Lust dazu, wenn ich überlege, wo mich meine Radtour heute hinführen soll.
