Now, Steve’s being sent by SHIELD to get close to Tony again to find evidence that he’s the terrorist Iron Man. I think you can figure out what happens next! Steve is defrosted several decades early, and has spent the last 10 years retired and incognito as a small town mechanic. Enter Tony Stark whose mansion has just been blown up by the Mandarin -- or as Steve knows him, Anthony the somewhat mysterious and attractive newcomer to town who keeps buying weird combinations of things at his shop. I'll See You When I Fall Asleep by @citsiurtlanu OH MAN I LOVED THIS SO MUCH As kids, Tony and Steve start switching places and living each others lives when they fall asleep. Not only that, but Tony is living in the 80′s and Steve is a sickly young kid during the Depression. This is a beautiful and extremely clever concept since they don’t even really interact (until ~spoilers~) except through messages written when they “jump” into each others lives, but by living in each others bodies they come to care deeply about each other.
