Sorry haven’t been on here much. But here’s an update.

So I lasted 9 weeks out of hospital after being in for 6 months. I’m in hospital now, been in for nearly a month now. I’m not doing the best.

I ran away from home and spent the day in another town trying to pull myself together and figure out what I was going to do. I was psychotic, I thought people were going to kill me, I needed to get the micro chip out of my leg. I ended up buying a rope and making a noose on the monkey bars at a park at night time and people were actually walking past and laughing at me. I ran, and I laid in the middle of the road, I wanted the snipers to just shoot me, cars beeped their horns and I got dragged off the road. People called the police, and police on bicycles came and they said I was mentally unwell and we waited for an ambulance to take me to hospital which took like over an hour. In hospital I tried running away but never worked they’d always catch me, I kept getting sedated. I was in emergency for 2 days then sent to the mental health hospital where I am now, been here for nearly 4 weeks. Also my wound I spoke about in a previous post got so infected in hospital last week I got sent to emergency for IV antibiotics, I refused antibiotics and they sedated me to give me them. I think it’s getting infected again because my temp is going back up and it’s all red around it and yucky pus in it, I don’t want it treated, last week I was at the start of treatment for sepsis, if left I could of lost my leg or could of spread to other parts of my body including the heart. I don’t know how long I’ll be here for, I saw the clinical psychologist on Wednesday and she reckons I’ll be in here for a while but it’s up to my doctors.

Reality check because, this is me, today, maybe tomorrow. Paranoid psychosis has lots of interpretation, different names. OCD is universal but not all OCD is cleaning!!!!! I have to count to 4 over and over! when stressed. I have Crohn's disease, I've had four major surgeries to remove diseased intestine. I have osteoporosis because of the constant use of steroids, I take immune suppressant injections every week to help stop my own immune system from trying to heal my disease, which aggravates it. It’s #worldmentalhealthday, and I’ve been off sick all day with what is likely a stress induced migraine. I have only just realised it’s WMHD and feel that’s kinda of poignant with how I’ve been feeling, and despite still feeling like absolute crap right now, I wanted to post something and mark the day, as anyone who’s followed me for some time will know how important mental health awareness is to me, having suffered with mental health problems and also working in mental health care. . I have not been my true self for some time. The moment I noticed it more significantly was probably February 2018 when I took nearly the whole month off work with “work related debilitation” i.e. stress. Everyone can get stressed, stress is actually important. It helps us push ourselves and helps us grow and helps us stick to deadlines and be creative and it helps us to survive. But in this modern age, our fight and flight systems often kick in at modern day stresses, leading to stress related illnesses and anxiety disorders etc. Mental health is more than just #stress and #anxiety. There’s conditions such as #bipolar and #psychosis and #paranoidschizophrenia that just aren’t understood enough. And then there’s also #depression. Another more common affective disorder, one that I have struggled with on and off most of my life. I accept my episodes of depression quite well most of the time, I take them as a sign that I need to shake things up a bit and try something new. But since going off ill in February I haven’t quite been right. I think the stress was a tipping point but not the main problem. I’ve been fighting to hold back an under current of depression for over a year now and my usual tricks are not enough to change my feelings. This time maybe perspective isn’t enough and more practical/physical change is needed. As to what I don’t know... or maybe it is all about my perspective still and I just need to try harder. . So here’s to constantly trying despite constantly failing haha. Ok so....I’ve been in hospital; for nearly 3 months. At the moment I’m on home leave, i had Friday night, yesterday, today and tomorrrow until lunch time to have at home, then I’m back to see the doctors and then hopefully get some more leave. I think they said if leave goes well to be discharged Friday :)

Ive been rediagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder depressive type and psychotic depression. It’s been a hard 3 months, last week i had a meltdown in hospital, i cut my leg and then i had to get moved to another locked ward which i hate so much. I lost it in front of one of my doctors and threw chairs and screaming and crying. They got security to throw my in a van and take me to the ward with my doctor and security restraining me the whole way. When i got to the horrible locked ward they said i needed meds which i kept refusing, but they were going to give me a couple of injections, so they ended up shoving them down my throat. I was in that ward for a few days and then got moved back to the better ward with for freedom. I love my doctors, when i get discharged I’m gonna miss them, but i guess thats part of life, people come and go, and I’m so grateful for their help, even if i was difficult at times.
