Do honey bees have a hibernation period? I was wondering cuz I thought it was strange to see European honeys bumbling about inside late bloom rosemary buahes in January. (Then again. This is a the desert so it may simply never get cold enough for them)
Honey bees stay active to create warmth in their hive throughout the winter and eat honey since there aren’t flowers around. But certainly they’d be even more active in warmer climates!

Be wary of the man who collects whistles. For if he hears your whistle, he should want it as well.

Little butterfly. No more than half an inch long. Found him in Las Vegas, NV. Teeny tiny friend.
Beautiful Gray Hairstreak butterfly [link to BugGuide]!
Here’s one I saw in Georgetown, TX last year:

I’ve also *cough* caught a couple of them in my yard at night

These are very small butterflies so you normally might not notice, but check out those noses!
This is the most common species of hairstreak butterfly in North America, and it is widespread from Canada to Mexico.

We get wolf spiders in Las Vegas Nevada that are super chill, i had one try leave a couple babies with me but i wasnt ready to be a dad so i had to say no
Maybe she just needed a babysitter for the night so she could have some Me Time. I’d love to babysit some baby wolves. Have you ever seen the babies up close? They’re so precious it makes me want to shriek

When ilI was younger I was afraid of bigs because of a bad run in with arts (a swarm of them on you legs biting everything will do that), but as I've grown I've come to love bugs and even have a couple bug fursonas. I've had more than a coupme friends and my sibling come to me and tell me that my love of bugs has inspired them to admire and discover their own love of bugs. Onto neat bug things, my fav are cicadas because thet have a strikingly different call depending on which area they're from.
This message was a wild ride thank you so much for sending it. And heck yeah I love cicadas!
