Supernatural is sooo fun because it has so many weirdgirls in it! Like wow girl you’re so [unintelligible garbles of tv static]. Keep [unexplained light flickering] it up!!

Jack is an honorary wayward sister because they're weird about their gender and patience can't stand being the baby of the family while jack LOVES being the baby
Also because in true sibling fashion jack has to be in all of Claire's friend groups

I was thinking about Wayward Sisters and mentally sifting through the motifs for each main girl.
Alex was vampire-oriented, the symbolic siren that lured innocents to their deaths. Wannabe prom queen.
Claire's got the whole wannabe hero vibe but is weirdly prone to going to lone wolf.
Patience is undoubtedly paired with The Drama of the Gifted Child, a burnt-out prodigy melting down. Perfectionist.
And Kaia? Well. Kaia's not the girl on the milk carton.
But something hit me.
Claire, for all her dressings of tough, Dean-type, Barbie-girl? She's got the Jimmy Novak disease; she wants to be important. She wants to serve big causes and do big hero stuff.
Kaia, on the other hand? At her core, she's got the Dean disease. That awful, awful, niggling, "I don't matter." That's maybe why she and Jack get so Sympatico with each other so quickly and stay on good terms, even after he accidentally crash-landed her in the bad place. (Jack's got the exact same disease.)
That emotional interiority is buried deep, but it's definitely there, and it's another way that Claire veers in a surprising Casward direction.

just thought about it but do any of the claire/wayward sisters-meeting-jack scenarios take all the canon jack stuff into account or is it all mostly just detached silly stuff . Because I think it would be really funny if he shows up at Jody’s house like hello :D it’s so nice to meet u all :3 and one of them (probably alex) just deadpans like “hey weren’t you on the news for making the earth swallow a fake healer up once what was that about”

I did a thing and jumped in (definitely not way too late what) to do Art Stuff for the @deancas-stabfest bang :0
I'm actually pretty happy with how this banner turned out. I usually go for weirdo angles on banners to force myself to practice or something but for this one, I just did a simple a top-down view of the table. hopefully made up for it by trying to copy the initials table carving style from the show?
what originally drew (hah) me to the bang at all was the visual elements section of this fic. I joined the bang a little after claims actually and took on more of a pinch hitter role as the sudden urge to draw a bunch of characters enjoying a Christmas dinner hit me over the head. first time drawing a lot of these characters so just in case from front to back we have Patience, Donna, Jody, Kaia, and Claire on the left, then Dean in the middle, and then Jack, Alex, Eileen, Sam, and Cas on the right
(idk what like 80% of the food is supposed to be either. I did draw a turkey, some pies that look kinda undercooker, Winchester Surprise, a plate of cookies, idk some bread stuff, bean casserole thing...mystery meat?? I think I did have something in mind for each of these things but idk can't remember them now lol)
food is...not my strong suit
the fic this is made for is called "Everlasting" by @entropic-saudade for the deancas stabfest (now offering femslash options)

okay so. maybe patience was a little obsessed with the supernatural novels. are they stupid? yes. did they get her through middle school? also yes. and well. even when the rest of her friends moved on she kept reading them. when claire comes back patience is uh. invested. she didn't even know she was psychic yet, but it feels like something is Wrong. constantly. but in the book, claire gets to be angry. she gets to act out, she gets to make bad choices, and god sometimes patience wishes she could do that, could have a reason to scream at people, to have problems.
when it turns out the novels are real, when meeting claire novak falls right into her lap, it all feels too good to be true. maybe she and claire got off to a rocky start, but that's fine. patience knows everything about her. claire will warm up to her. she won't have a choice.
WAIT I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS. and maybe the reason patience was so drawn to carver edlund's novels as a kid was that she was psychic.... was her love for them even real? how much was even her choice? is claire, like, tolerable in real life? many important questions.
