Bubble and Squeak got some fresh carrot yesterday! Not something they get often as they can't have too much moisture, but they were eager to get their paws on it! 馃槉

Daily reminder that:
-Rodents usually do not come tame.
-They are not biting you to be mean. They're biting you because they're prey animals and you are a large predator.
-You should never pick up and handle rodents like a toy. when you pick them up, it's CRITICAL to do it correctly and be gentle.
-Rodents chewing on cage bars is not normal; it usually means the cage is too small. They should not be chewing on metal to sharpen their teeth and it can seriously injure them.
-RODENTS ARE HIGH MAINTENANCE ANIMALS AND ARE NOT TOYS FOR CHILDREN

This one mouse always scares the shit outa me.
She never comes out from under the bedding (the other mouse will sometimes bring her food) she plays dead like there's not tomorrow, if her little nose didn't twitch and the other mouse wasn't so happy I'd think she was dead, and she sleeps in the weirdest and never consistent positions!
They're both curled up sleeping rn, AND THIS ONE HAS HER EYES OPEN! I rush over thinking she's DEAD and she opens her eyes wider and twitches her little nose and moves her head a bit SO SHES ALIVE!
In all honesty I do worry about her a fair deal but I don't want to handle her too much and stress the darling out. I usually just keep an eye out to make sure she moves, I can usually get a glimpse of her through the tunnels that are up against the tank glass.
Any mouse owners have suggestions? 馃ス
