I listen to a ton of movie and tv show scores. Sometimes I’ll even listen to scores to movies I’ve never seen. I just love them that much.

One thing I have noticed is how few women composers are in the space or at least how few get to compose movie scores for well-known movies or movies that even get a theatrical release. I’m curious if there’s some sort of barrier preventing them from being more prevalent or it’s just a general lack of female composers period.

I am glad that both Captain Marvel and She-Hulk got female composers at least.

hi everyone, finally, i made an ICYMI article for this film! i also made a playlist of all the trailers, promos, featurettes, etc., it's all right here.

and as always, no major spoilers.

- it was announced in october 2021 that there would be a second film

- the premiere date in the us moved from october 13 to september 29. it's also the premiere date for canada

- the movie will focus on skye

- first cast member anounced - taraji p. henson

- kim k revealed that she'll return as delores

- january 27: voice cast announced!

we have eight ryders! finn lee-epp will be ryder in the film

i predicted that justin paul kelly will be voicing chase in the film TWICE, but it never happened. i was wishing for him to shine as chase. well anyway, i'm sure christian convery will do great

christian corrao did well in all paws on deck, so yeah, confirmed that he's marshall

crying because it's not lilly bartlam as skye. clues are showing that it's mckenna grace. at first i was worried because i've heard her normal voice before. but because of spirit untamed, i'm sure she'll do great

i knew luxton handspiker will be voicing rubble. he did well in rubble and crew

- for the other celebrity cast, we have kristen bell and james marsden as janet and hank who work in a junk yard, and serena williams as yoga yvette

- according to an article from the toy book magazine, the movie will explore chase and skye's "unique relationship". i'm a bit curious about this one... probably about their friendship? shippers, please don't

- the work-in-progress trailer was shown at cinemacon last april

- a giant mayor humdinger but better

- official promotions started with an ad on an airplane. let's take to the sky!

- their new hq is called aircraft carrier since the adventure city hq got destroyed by the meteor (source: trailer)

- the trailer was released june 12

- they have the junior patrollers: tot, nano, and mini, three little pomeranians that become part of the paw patrol, and they were trained by liberty

- the movie is rated pg due to mild action and peril. i have no problem with it. superhero films today are rated pg. it's surprising for some fans tho

- the main six pups have the same powers from the tv movie and subseries, but there are a few upgrades: marshall can create fireballs, rocky can be a magnet, zuma can turn into a puddle of water, and skye has super strength

- the detail on pups' power paws OMG? kinda looks like they leave some.fairy dust or smth

- we have 3 new songs for the movie!

- last september 23, team canada cast went on an advance private screening of the movie

- last september 24, paramount pictures had set a guinness world record of "most dogs attending a film screening" in los angeles. 219 dogs came to watch the film

- so far, only finn lee-epp (ryder) had several interviews about the movie. the team us cast appeared only on featurettes and interviews that were recorded a few months ago

- the official soundtrack with original score by pinar toprak was released on september 29

- there will be a third theatrical film set to release in 2026!

- the movie is on digital on october 31!

- the dvd for the mighty movie will release in the us on december 12.

there's racism and sexism and barriers in every industry, but film composition seems particularly bad. 94% of box office films in 2019 were scored by men. any "best film composers of all time" list is overwhelmingly white and male. please show some of these composers your love!

also, i want to draw everyone's attention to angela morley. morley was a composer who worked on many films, including watership down, the little prince, star wars, and home alone. she was a transgender woman who publicly came out in 1972. you can find out more about her here.

Was die konkrete Handlung von „Paw Patrol: Der Mighty Kinofilm“ betrifft, halten sich die Verantwortlichen sehr zurück. Bisher ist lediglich bekannt, dass sich die Fortsetzung um die junge Familie des Söldners Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) und der außerirdischen Kriegerin Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) drehen wird. Zudem soll eine alte Bedrohung zurückkehren, sodass die kleine Familie gezwungen ist, ihr Zuhause zu verlassen. Auf ihrer Flucht finden sie Zuflucht in der exotischen Meereswelt von Pandora.

„The Nun 2“ – Hintergründe und Kinostart

„Avatar - Aufbruch nach Pandora“ war nicht nur aus finanzieller Sicht ein großer Erfolg: Auch auf dem Gebiet der 3D-Technik konnte der Film neue Standards setzen. Lebensecht wirkende Figuren wurden per Motion-Capture-Verfahren auf einem fast komplett animierten Paw Patrol: Der Mighty Kinofilmten in Szene gesetzt und machten das Mammut-Projekt zu einem Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte. James Cameron hat deshalb schon im Jahr 2006 erstmals über einen Nachfolger nachgedacht. Inzwischen ist das Projekt gewachsen – nicht weniger als eine Familiensaga, die sich über insgesamt fünf Filme erstreckt, will Cameron in den nächsten Jahren in die Kinos bringen.

Als Unterstützung bringt der Starregisseur ein ganzes Kreativ-Team mit. So wird etwa Josh Friedman, Drehbuchautor von Steven Spielbergs „Krieg der Welten“, am zweiten Teil von „Avatar“ mitwirken. Um den hohen Erwartungen des Publikums gerecht zu werden, will Cameron außerdem auch mit den Nachfolgern neue technische Maßstäbe setzen. Anlässlich seiner Ernennung zum Ehrenmitglied der Society Of Motion Picture And Television Engineers versprach der Filmemacher, gemeinsam mit dem „Weta Digital“-Studio ein neues Zeitalter des 3D-Films einzuläuten.

Entsprechend langwierig sind natürlich die Dreharbeiten und Postproduktion des Films. Die Produktion musste auch aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie unterbrochen werden. Nach einer zweiwöchigen Quarantäne konnten die Arbeiten im Juni 2020 wiederaufgenommen und Ende September abgeschlossen werden. Zudem habe man auch beim dritten Film maßgebliche Produktionsfortschritte erreichen können. Zwischendurch hielt Produzent Jon Landau seine Fans auch via Instagram die Fans mit frischen Material vom Set bei Laune.

„Paw Patrol: Der Mighty Kinofilm“ hat bereits einen holprigen Weg hinter sich und musste mehrfach verschoben werden. Dem deutschen Kinostart am 14. Dezember 2023 sollte nichts im Wege stehen. Das Publikum wird im Kinosessel dann die Qual der Wahl haben: Ganz gleich ob 3D, 4K, High Frame Rate (HFR) mit 25 Bilder pro Sekunde oder IMAX-Auflösung und verschiedenen Sound-Einstellungen. „Paw Patrol: Der Mighty Kinofilm“ soll in so vielen verschiedenen Versionen im Kino erscheinen, wie kein Film zuvor.

"The first Marvel film of 2022 has landed, and it is filled with musical easter eggs... here are some of the ones you may have missed.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe centring on Dr. Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon turned Master of the Mystic Arts.

Played by Benedict Cumberbatch, the character stars alongside Wanda Maximoff, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, a powerful sorceress, who was recently the subject of Marvel’s Disney+ show, Wandavision.

In Marvel’s latest film, Dr. Strange and Wanda experience the madness of the multiverse, and all the chaos travelling between universes can cause.

Highlighting the madness is a powerful soundtrack scored by Grammy Award-winning composer, Danny Elfman. The composer has previously scored superheroes movies including Batman (1989) and Spider-Man (2002).

From sonic throwbacks, to hidden visual cues, here are some of the musical easter eggs you might’ve missed in the new film. Warning, spoilers ahead!

Danny Elfman was brought on to write the music for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after director, Sam Raimi signed onto the film in 2019.

Together, Elfman and Raimi have previously collaborated on Spider-Man (2002 and its sequel in 2004), 1990 superhero film Darkman, and most recently in 2013, American fantasy-adventure film, Oz the Great and Powerful.

Elfman’s original motion picture score for the new Doctor Strange film features 32 tracks of orchestral writing, with a ‘horror twist’. Raimi, known for his work in the horror genre, brought elements into the new marvel film, which was echoed in the score by Elfman.

In an interview with Marvel, Elfman explained while the full orchestral instrumentation was usual for a Marvel movie, he also incorporated a “special extra low brass sound that’s reminiscent of old-fashioned horror sounds”.

What other songs feature in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

We can’t go any further without addressing the epic fight scene in the final third of the film, Marvel’s first action sequence to use sheet music as a weapon of choice.

In a scene where Dr. Strange from our Earth meets a different ‘evil’ Dr. Strange from the incursion universe, the pair begin fighting in a high-level room that houses a piano and a harp.

The ‘good’ Dr. Strange falls on a piano during the start of the fight, and this leads to music note-shaped balls of energy being fired by each sorcerer at the other.

As they fly across the room, the music notes play out two well-known pieces of classical music, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 In C minor and J.S. Bach’s Toccata And Fugue In D minor.

The classical works are both weaved into an intuitive and immersive track by Elfman titled ‘Lethal Symphonies’, which successfully highlights every movement and blow during this magically musical fight.

Fans are divided by the music fight scene, with some saying it was the highlight of the film, while others complained it wasn’t serious enough to fit in with the overall tone of the film.

Our favourite reaction may be this tongue-in-cheek tweet response that attributes the scene to piquing an interest, for this fan, in music theory.

Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Bach’s Toccata And Fugue aren’t the only pieces of music to feature in the Marvel movie.

Elsewhere, Wanda’s scenes featured a return of her theme from Wandavision, and a fight scene involving Captain Carter, played by Hayley Atwell was underscored by Alan Silvestri’s Captain America Theme.

Early on in the film during a scene where Dr. Strange’s former love interest, Christine, gets married, another of Bach’s works, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring plays, closely followed by Prelude To Act III – Bridal Chorus (arr. for organ) from Wagner’s opera Lohengrin.

Music from previous Marvel creations also makes it into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

With the surprise inclusion of Professor Charles Xavier, played by Sir Patrick Stewart, in the film, the soundtrack appropriately includes the theme from X-Men: The Animated Series; a series which Marvel intends on reviving."

So, the anticipation of all of you will now gradually end since this week because it’s going to be a big treat for everyone. We are finally going to have the first full-length trailer for Captain Marvel at sometime today. And it will be followed up by the most awaited thing, the Avengers 4 trailer which may be revealed on Wednesday. But right now the entire focus is on just one big character, Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson in the lead role of Carol Danvers. And just recently Marvel Studios has released a new poster for the movie which will be arriving on March 8th, 2019. And you can tell by looking at the new poster, above, that Captain Marvel looks all charged and geared up for coming face-to-face with the Mad Titan, Thanos, whenever that moment will come in the next Avengers film. Brie Larson’s character is appearing all tough and in the entirety of her powers. She is touted to be the strongest and powerful superhero among all the other Avengers. The first official teaser trailer for Captain Marvel was previously released in September and which was also the most viewed teaser or trailer of any MCU movie in 24 hours, after Avengers: Infinity War. The film is set in the 1990s and we will also see a younger Nick Fury in the story. It also stars Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, Annette Bening, and Clark Gregg.
