It's been a hectic year, but I'm really proud of what I've accomplished. Couldn't even reasonably fit in all my treats from this year into this video, hope I didn't miss anyone's favorite!
Thanks to everyone who's followed along with my experiments, I appreciate your support so much and I hope I've made your year a little sweeter 🥹💕 Here's to more fun creations in 2024!
I will always be a sucker for this dessert, and Scream Tail was the perfect candidate (especially with that alliteration)! Her face is made with chocolate candy melts.
My son asked for a Rowlet (German: Bauz) cake for his birthday party this year, as it is his favourite Pokemon. Since he likes neither marzipan nor fondant, I covered the cake in cheese cream.
Of course, hiding Smarties in a funfetti cake is a cheap trick, but it never fails to delight all kids present. ^^
ROWLET CAKE ROWLET CAKE!!!! The frosting is matcha flavored! This piece was based on those vintage 80's style cakes I kept finding on Instagram. The checkerboard pattern in the background is a tablecloth that I scanned. You can buy this print on my Etsy.
This is easily one of my favorite illustrations I made last year ahahaha which is why I got really obnoxious with the tags. (Sorry) Been thinking about sharing some of my process work to show how this materialized.
EDIT: so this particular piece has attracted... perhaps the most engagement that I have ever received on any piece, ever, and that is completely astounding to me. I am so blown away by the reception and the glowing praise from you all and I'm so immensely grateful and humbled. Thank you to everyone who has liked and reblogged this, whether you're a newcomer or a long-time friend who has religiously watched me from the beginning.
I've been working on my personal fakemon region on and off and wanted to show off this line that I just finished! Gnourly and Trollicious are based off of gnomes, trolls, icing, and various kinds of cake. Gnourly evolves into Trollicious depending on its icing color. These guys were super fun to design and I'm very happy with their concept!
I've been experimenting with this for a while behind the scenes, it's taken me 5+ tries to get this design to the point where I was satisfied enough to share, but I'm finally done! So proud (and so tired, haha 😅)
My attempts to get here were...interesting. My first attempt was in 2019, after which I shelved it until I got a better idea of how to make it and tried again the last few weeks, tweaking as I went. Behold the bumpy journey 😂
Happy Disability Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
We made a coconut Chatot cake with the Disability Pride colours!
Who does this flag represent?
❤️ physical disabilities
💛 cognitive and intellectual disabilities
🤍 nonvisible and undiagnosed disabilities
💙 psychiatric disabilities
💚 sensory disabilities
🖤 those we've lost
As someone who is represented within this flag, and knows countless friends, family and community members who are too, I'm really glad we can take a moment to celebrate this. Disability isn't a dirty word, and the disabled community is "the fastest-growing minority in the world" according to the UN. The fight against ableism has to be a part of fighting all forms of bigotry, and we are always stronger when we stand together. 🥰
Everyone’s having so many good takes of the boys being the Legendary Dragons and I couldn’t agree more on that ( or maybe I just wanted a pretext to draw them a bit feral )
