Charlie! Can I get your opinion on something?

I and one of my friends, G, are breeders for our area. When we started we both had larvesta to help hatch the eggs, but recently G evolved theirs into a volcarona. My buddy doesn't really get much battle experience so they're still a larvesta.

Ever since G's larvesta evolved they'd been telling me non-stop how their volcarona is so much happier and better at helping with the eggs, but my little larvesta seems just fine being a larvesta.

I have the space and the means to keep a volcarona, but is there any biological benefit to evolving the little guy? Like, will it be happier as a volcarona even if it seems fine as a larvesta?

well, it's less that your larvesta won't be happier staying as a larvesta when it comes time to evolve as it is that your larvesta will not survive long if you prevent its evolution. larvesta are, as their name implies, a larval form. while some pokemon are capable of living a happy life without evolving, larvesta need to evolve to reach their mature, adult form. preventing their evolution effectively stagnates their growth, eventually leading to their death. not many people realize it, because larvesta are relatively rare and also have a very long juvenile growth period before evolution, often taking years to evolve.

so your friend is kind of right, just for the wrong reasoning. as your larvesta's owner, it's your responsibility to know the importance of allowing your pokemon to experience its normal life and to provide that for it. please make sure you do the proper research for your larvesta, just as you should expect of any trainer adopting a pokemon from you.

Timeskipped Sidon, the hydro himbo 🌊

I did some research for Timeskip 2 as I was unsure if he'd be gigantic like King Dorephan (kind of like how some animals get huge when they become alpha/queen). In the end, there's no definite answer so my interpretation is that Sidon gets larger as a shark, but not exponentially so as a whale like Dorephan. If I'm wrong, oh well I tried. 😅

If I could make a ROM Hack, I would make Eevee the most annoying pokemon to evolve.

All well and good until Eevee reaches level 10 ~ 15 or levels up with max friendship, then their unstable DNA goes bonkers. The old methods still works, but EVERYTHING works. In a patch of grass? Leafeon. Fighting while surfing? Vaporeon. Desert? Espeon/Umbreon. Indoors? Jolteon. Sunny day was active? Flareon. Sandstorm? Umbreon. Rain? Vaporeon. Hail? Glaceon. Eevee was paralysed? Jolteon. Infatuated or confused? Sylveon. Poisoned? Umbreon. Asleep? Espeon. Burned? You know.

This includes leveling up with items. Razor Claw? Glaceon. Reaper cloth? Umbreon. Choice items? Flareon. Tm/Hms? Jolteon. Berries/consumables? Leafeon. Potions? Vaporeon. Metal coat? Espeon. Upgrade? Jolteon. Oval stone? Sylveon. ect.

More than one conidtion? 50/50, 33/33/33 ect.

Eventually the player gets fed up with pressing B to cancel Eevee's evolution all the time so they slap on an everstone. This rock is the only thing that can contain Eevee's boundless natural energy from trying to evolve. Unkowningly, they just increased Eevee's base stats to 540. This is slightly higher than the other Eeveelutions and making it on par with them with the drawback of no items, making it more viable for a main story playthrough.

Here is my Pawmi evolution idea!

pawmi on 4 legs mode evolves into pawleasl (elec/fight), and pawmi on 2 legs mode evolves into pawalope (elec/fight)

Pawmi can take two modes, much like morpeko's full belly and hangy mode. However, these modes are based off of the Pawmi's stats. If it has a high attack stat, it will be on 4 legs mode, and if it has a high defense, it will be on 2 legs mode.

Depending on the mode, you will get a different evolution. Pawleasl is bold and weasel-like, startling its prey with its lightning fast speeds and sudden shocks through the ground made by its paws.

Pawalope has thickly padded paws that charges high amounts of electricity over time, stunning attackers. Its signature move is a literal "Thunderclap", where it will slap its paws together to discharge a ton of electricity to its opponent.

In the wild, Pawalope and Pawleasl are fierce enemies that are equally suited to fight one another for a long time. Pawleasl is fast enough to dodge Pawalope's attacks, but Pawalope is strong enough to take on Pawleasl's attacks as well.

I majorly screwed up and I feel so stupid. I have a quaxley as a battle partner and a magikarp in an outdoors pond, and i noticed my quaxley wasn't evolving no matter how much we trained. You know how many avian pokemon eat small stones to keep in their gizzards to help grind up food? I spotted quaxley picking gastroliths from the magikarp pond. That's full of crushed up everstones. What do I do here? Is there a way to fix this or is he stuck like this?

LMAO yeah my pidove get everstones in their grit! easy way to help prevent evolution in a lot of pet bird pokemon.

the good news is it's not permanent. as the gastroliths get worn down, they eventually become too small to grind up food and will pass through your quaxly's digestive tract. a blood test will let you know when they've cycled through his system and the presence of evolution-triggering hormone rise back to normal levels- when they do, he should be able to evolve.
