When I mentioned Dream and Sapnap bonded when they were really young in the dtk+ dragon au, I mean that Dream woke up one night to the sound of Sapnap’s egg hatching, went to check on him, and found a little baby hatchling blinking up at him. The bond was instant, and Dream just picked lil baby Sap up and tucked him into his nest before curling up around him.

Sapnap literally imprinted on Dream.

Dragon imprints last for a couple of years and are there so hatchlings have an adult to run to and rely on in case of danger and to care for them. Obviously Bad was meant to be the dragon Sapnap imprinted on, but even tho he wasn’t he still of course was the one who took care of all of Sapnap’s needs. Sapnap would just fuzz and struggle if Dream wasn’t around and the moment he was set free to do as he pleased he would be toddling after Dream. The moment he got spooked he would dive under Dream’s baby fluff and he was generally pretty much attached to the older hatchling.

Dream didn’t at all mind, he’s just a couple of years older than Sapnap and was mostly just excited to have a new potential friend, taking his role as Sapnap’s “protector” very seriously.

They practically did everything together, and twenty-something years later Sapnap is still following after Dream, and Dream will still curl up around him when they sleep <3

also a fun tidbit regarding the mochi/lime relationship thats still a beta idea but i think i like it: she actually did kiss him right before she left for the timeskip!!

it was under the pretext of pom telling her "You need to leave tonight and not have anyone follow you so do whatever you have to do to make sure none of your guild follows you or finds out where we're going."

and mochi knows that oscar and coco? theyre in different areas of the city, she could leave without them knowing she was gone until they came to find her. but lime? hes right there. and especially since at this point hes very i-want-to-cuddle-with-you-every-night, its gonna be hard to run away without him waking up/finding out very fast

so she goes to madam springs to get some kind of knock-someone-out-for-hours kind of medicine (since her usual knock-out spells wont work on him)

and she COULDVE just dropped it in his water or something but...,,,..she figured this might be the last time she sees him...ever. so.,..anyway. she kissed him (and gave him the medicine to knock him out)

and its SUPPOSED to be the kind of medicine that makes the person forget it happened when they wake up, but apparently that part of the medicine is optional and something madam springs got from a witchs potion, so lime DOES remember, and it LINGERS with him FOREVER

(also this is good because when the m34th asks him why he wants the cat witch he can say "Payback, i guess." which they interpret as "ooh violence." but in his head hes like "I am kissing her the moment I get my hands on her again I swear to god.")

less than 4 minutes into Pom Poko and, i don't get Isao Takahata, he refuses to draw nipples on characters or characters without mouth muscles but he'll draw balls on raccoons, i don't get it. i don't get it, what the fuck are this man's priorities.

#james talks #james watches stuff #pom poko #studio ghibli #isao takahata #when i say he here i obviously don't mean him literally i know there are other people drawing it but obviously he has final say over stuff—#bc he's the director #anyway hopefully there's no people in this so i don't have to see his ugly human designs again #but anyway the movie is fun so far #finding subs for this that matched was a nightmare #the inbuilt subs said the raccoons lived in the 'woods' but in the actual Japanese dialogue they clearly said 'mountain'#& it took far too much fiddling and looking to find something that matched and actually had all the subs (including text) instead of just—#the dialogue and stuff. and even in this the translations of certain lines changes a lot (like saying the racoons always lived near a farm)#so i am forced to watch with 2 subtitles at the same time and draw a conclusion on each line of dialogue to see what the actual line is #so if i miss something that's my bad but like subtitlers should simply agree on what's being said.#this is kinda why i'm a big proponent of direct translation with explanations in brackets for cultural contexts
