Harry Potter Misconceptions

The Potter's would've lived if James had his wand - I'm sorry what? James was gifted and certainly a talented wizard, but Lord Voldemort is not only far more powerful, but is more trained and much older and spent years studying spells and all sorts of branches of magic. In the best case scenario, James slightly stuns Voldemort before Voldemort just kills him.

Draco had a crush on Hermione, that's why he was mean - No, no and no. Draco was mean to Hermione because she was Muggle-Born and his dumbass daddy raised him into his racist beliefs. I also hate the notion that he was the 'boy with no choice', he had lots of chances to read the room in Hogwarts and realize he is a brick, but chose not to.

Percy Weasley was wrong for leaving - Think of it like this, you are the middle child of a poor ass pure-blood family who underestimate your ambition, yet you still hang around because you love them. However, things aren't all sunshine and daisies because your little brother (Ron) and sister (Ginny) get constantly hurt and injured because of Dumbledore's lackluster policies, to the point they both almost die on numerous occasions, he also makes dumb decisions like hosting a tournament where children are often killed and then gets shocked when one of their champions are killed. Now your brother's best friend is yapping about how Voldemort has returned and now Dumbledore suddenly repeats the memo. You've lost trust in him mainly because he has done nothing to earn your trust, and now you're in a row with your father because you don't trust the lad who constantly puts your children in danger. It was less about Harry and more about Dumbledore. The only reason he wanted Ron away from Harry was BECAUSE of Dumbledore. He was brainwashed into supporting Umbridge because he saw her as a firm hand and change, something Dumbledore was not. Was he wrong about Umbridge, yep, was he wrong about leaving, NO!

Ok but can we talk about Albus loving Lily very much? I headcanon Albus as an artist, drawing a portrait of Lily, writing a song with her etc. She often hangs out at Scorbus home, being not only an amazing sibling in-law to Scorpius but a great friend as well. Scorpius often confides in her stuff about Albus, everyday life, relationship/ friendship matters. They also gossip ( Scorpius calls it " social curiosity"). She also has her own key and often drops by, bringing food ( she cooks for passion, something many people find surprising due to her adventurous nature) or some new creative ideas, costumes sketched/ written on paper. ( I am convinced Lily is a performer/ singer/ dancer who runs her own show ).

When James comes for a visit, everything turns to chaos. He and Albus, when together, get really loud. The house is a mess, untidy and unorganized. They play fight, then concoct crazy plans together, just like they did when they were 12 years old. Scorpius takes on the role of the arbitrator, baby sitter, mum, you name it. But he finds potter shenanigans really funny. James is in general a responsible older brother ( at least to very serious matters ) but him and Albus annoying each other is their "love" language.

"ADOPTED"

The number one reason that people say Prongsfoot can't date or get together is becuase the Potters "adopted" Sirius when he ran away from home. This would make them "brothers" and therefore "wrong".

I can get into why that is not how this works in another post and how there's nothing in the books about Sirius being adopted by the Potters, but I want to point out a similar situation - Harry and the Weasleys & Hinny.

So, a lot of people say that the Weasleys "adopted" Harry becuase he is "like a son" to Molly via the 5th book. Given that he lives with them for a month before year 2, 2 weeks before year 4, 1 month before year 5, and practically the entire summer before book 6 - I can see why they argue this, even if I disagree.

BUT here's the thing - if Sirius being "adopted" by the Potters is a reason for Prongsfoot not to be a thing than shouldn't Harry being "adopted" by the Weasleys by a reason that Hinny can't be a thing?

Oh. What's that? It's different? How so?

Oh, I know becuase you just want an excuse not to ship Prongsfoot.

The point is that it is not the same thing as if he were adopted as a child and raised as their son. Neither Sirius nor Harry are actually adopted and both really only became a part of the Potters/Weasleys as practically adults which is why it doesn't matter.

They can date James/Ginny and its not a problem becuase they weren't siblings or adopted in anyway.

So please stop using this as a reason not to ship Prongsfoot. Thanks :)

hp next gen friend groups

rose weasley, scorpius malfoy, albus potter. it’s like the golden trio but rose is thirdwheeling sometimes. but rose is the level headed intelligent one, scorpius is the sweetheart, and albus is the “dark moody mysterious one”.

i think they’d be very reluctant to let new people even momentarily insert themselves into the friend group.

ohkaay we all know Sirius has long luscious hair and he uses 10 different kinds if expensive haircare products

soo cut to he is home for Christmas (+diwali)and effie sees him and gets extremely angry upon seeing siri one morning and screams to sit down near the chair and goes to the kitchen ( Sirius having major flashback to walburga in extreme rage trying to cut his hair with kitchen scissors ) effie come back with a small katori and sit on the chair and starts to oil his hair with luke warm hair oil and then proceeds to braid them .it becomes there tradition when effie champis sirius he just talks about all the hogwarts tea

james potter hc (family & childhood)

his parents never punished him, even when he was bullying

he had extended family, but all contact was lost during the war

his parents hid the war from him. the Squib Riots, the deaths, disappearances, what people were whispering about, the meetings they were going to or holding

his father stayed home with him before he went to Hogwarts, his mother worked

his mom for the most part involved in community organizing, giving people who were new to english or magical culture resources

his dad took him on day trips all around the country when he was growing up (his dad is really good at accents, james is not)

because of that he got really good at dealing with Floo dizziness and Side-Along sickness

it's also why he's such a good flier; he has practical experience on top of training for the game

he never met his mother's parents

since his dad stayed home with him he spent a lot of time at his paternal grandparents house

he looked up to his grandfather A LOT, he was a hafiz, he hunted (like an englishman :/), loving husband, well read & told james quranic stories & folklore from southern india & around the world (esp greek, roman, & mesopotamian)

james' favorite story was of rupmati and baz bahadur, which his grandfather... softened

his father's father (henry) died first, when james was eight, then his grandmother when james was 9, they were 104 & 101 respectively
