All I know is I'm gonna be pissed if this doesn't get a season 3 because you can't just make him stronger and toss him aside like that

I feel you but going by the fact that these writers deliberately marginalized and disrespected Danny Rand on his own series; ripped away his dignity, his destiny, his POV, crapped all over his character development in K’un Lun and chucked it at his now Mary-Sue of an ex I doubt they give a damn about his arc in S3. They didn’t even give him his suit and mask besides that little tease in the Davos/Danny flashback fight.

We know why they did this too. It wasn’t enough for Finn Jones to endure all this abusive treatment from unhinged masses. No IF showrunners felt virtue signalling was better than actually showcasing how awesome the titular hero really is.

Danny’s not single. He and Colleen didn’t break up.

Ah hate to break it to you but as of the IF2 finale they are officially done. Colleen made it very clear that she prefers their relationship to be strictly sensei/student. Their apartment is gone and Danny is moving onto the next phase of his journey. If you don’t like my posts then maybe its a good idea to avoid them.

@punknatch it’s sad that he deleted his Twitter account again. I do hope he knows he has plenty of fans out there that appreciate him and his hard work. And you can tell he absolutely loves Danny Rand. I think the producers need to let a little of Finn shine through Danny. Maybe season 3 will be more Danny-centric....

But @ohereweare1 this show is called ‘Iron Fist’. It should be ‘Danny Rand-centric’ 100% the same way Daredevil is about Matt Murdock, the same way Luke Cage is about Luke, Jessica Jones is about Jessica and the Punisher is about Frank Castle. Danny should be taking a backseat to NO ONE on his series. This is his story not Colleen’s or anyone else’s.

I thing they friendship should be restored but liek Raveln sayed Ironwing is MCU Canon. ANd i thing the Colleena nd Danny powercouple thing tehy writing towards now is amazing and i hope Joy can get redemption by helping out Joy

This is becoming a trend with you isn’t it? Okay I’m not one for making snarky retorts to things like this. I usually just go about my day without bothering anyone but this...I’m not going to ignore any longer.

1. I’m not going to criticize the poor grammar.

2. First and foremost I’m all about Danny Rand here when it comes to Iron Fist. He’s the story I care most about and then its the Meachums.

3. Shipping Ironjoy is just an added bonus and I’m very proud of it. I think they’re an underrated couple with tons of potential and it’d be a shame to waste it. I adore their friendship which I felt was absurdly shelved S2 but if they do or don’t ever become show canon I’m not going to lose sleep over it.

4. I care about Danny and Joy as individual characters not just their relationship.

5. If you don’t like Ironjoy why are you looking in their tag?

6. Why do you insist on clogging my posts with these types of passive aggressive comments?

I don’t understand the point of your responses whenever I talk about Danny and Joy’s relationship. Nor why you’re obviously threatened by them. There aren’t even many of us Ironjoy shippers out there we just want to be left alone. Of the majority of Ironwing fans you’re the only user I’ve run into who seems to have an issue that people like me exist.

Cool you ship Danny and Colleen but believe it or not there are people in the IF fandom who don’t and I’m one of them. Everyone has a right to ship what they want and shouldn’t be made to feel crappy about it.

Its the same as Arrow fans complaining about the creators wanting to do something new ok! You want to have the exact same thing from the comics happen? NO i ratehr have something new. Yah look at Arrow its a mess! Its not even the same show anymore. From my perspective the main protagonist in that was also shafted to make way for the supporting characters, everyone’s OOC and the comics history was botched. Based on comments I’ve read from Arrow fans that show is beyond repair. But we’re not discussing Arrow this is about Iron Fist.

And this is very hypocritical. Would you have the same reaction if Coll**n had been in Danny’s position? Like would you be totally fine if Colleen had been the one who worked her butt off for 15 years enduring brutal physical training to become the chosen protector of a mystic land? Only to have that identity and destiny ripped away and handed to her Gary-Stu boyfriend?

I don’t think so and many IF fans of the comics and the series [including some Ironwing shippers] would gladly disagree with you. We’re very hurt, angry and upset over this development. Doing this disregards/erases all of Danny’s character development and journey in S1, Defenders and Luke Cage S2.

I’ll repeat this is the equivalent of Matt Murdock giving away his Daredevil suit to Claire Temple or Jessica Jones giving away her strength to Trish Walker. Think about that.

Btw Coll**n is a self-admitted adrenaline/combat junkie. How does that make her more worthy of the dragon’s chi than Danny? Or better yet why wouldn’t that make her more of a dangerous threat than him who only used the fist for good? She’s already killed once that we know of while he hasn’t.

I’m not thrilled with the back-half of S2 nor am I happy about the blatantly sick treatment of Finn Jones/Danny Rand. And I’m not alone in these feelings. You’re in the minority within the yay-Danny’s-not-the-hero anymore camp I’m sorry. This show is called Iron Fist its about Danny Rand. It’s not the Coll**n Wing show. Its his story. Comicbook fans did not flock here for a CW romance they came to see Danny Rand become the iconic Immortal Iron Fist which he is. They came to see his rich comic history and background be accurately/appropriately adapted.

And the source material should be cherished and honored in any television or movie adaptation. It doesn’t need to be an exact blueprint but it shouldn’t be changed to the point where its no longer recognizable. That’s not what long devoted fans of these beloved heroes want.

Here’s the thing I’ve run into similar passive aggressive stans in the past. I’m currently facing the same problems in the Daredevil fandom. I’m not intimidated. The purpose for my being here is to have fun. I’m not here to start ship wars or shove my opinions down people’s throats. They’re free to like or dislike whatever they please and move on. Or they can just choose to ignore whatever I say.

I’m not trying to be rude here but if you don’t like what I post you’re very welcome to unfollow me [if you already do] and focus on things you enjoy. But I really don’t appreciate being told nonstop that my ships won’t happen and that I should just accept bad writing and bad changes to my favorite shows.

OMG I read one of your answer about IF2 and I swear to God it’s like I ghostwrote all the things you said. About season 2 being all about Colleen (I kept calling it “the Colleen show” while watching it) and about Danny being a supporting character of his own goddamn show!!! I was expecting a season showing Danny’s personal growth, as a man and as the Iron Fist, instead they put a spotlight on anyone else but the protagonist. 😒😒 I-I just can’t...

Argh thank you I could rant about IF2 all day. I’ve been ranting about the show since finishing it over the weekend and I’m still stewing.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

I’ve never in my life seen anything as jarring and sad as witnessing the hero being sidelined on his own series this badly. And its happened on other shows but not in a way that its too obvious.This was a mistake by showrunners and totally disrespectful to Finn Jones’s work and position on IF. They just did not care about him at all. They did not allow him to shine enough or stretch those acting chops I mean the guy was on Game of Thrones hello [aka The Land of Phenomenal Acting’ for crying out loud].

I was really looking forward to his emotional conflict with Joy Meachum/Davos, his personal growth and inner struggles with his identity as the Iron Fist. Instead he’s just crippled, put down and made to prop up anyone [Colleen Wing and Misty Knight] but himself. I mean if they were really gunning for a Colleen-led series they executed the jumping point very poorly. Danny has hardly any POV for majority of the season and that irritates me because Jones was accused in early IF reviews of not emoting any or enough inner dialect that would convey Danny’s thought process. Which is outrageous because some of his best subtle acting moments happen in episodes 1&3 of the second season and ofc the last scene in the finale.

Other examples include his reaction to Joy’s new look [that expression on his face was simply priceless], his discomfort towards Davos/Joy at the dinner or during that final scene in 2x01 where he’s down in the subway punching that steel locker over and over. It reminded me of one of those sin rooms where a person would repeatedly whip themselves as punishment.You can almost feel the emotional weight of the entire journey he underwent in that episode on his shoulders via every hit. Jones also had some great one on one stuff with Pelphrey this year which was a major highlight. And I liked his scenes with Mary Walker/Typhoid Mary.

However there was simply no cohesion or structure undermining Danny’s presence as the primary protagonist. Everything just falls flat. I can tell you right now if Finn Jones had been given the appropriate spotlight instead of having it unfairly ripped away he would’ve really knocked IF2 out of the park. I mean the way he defends and talks about Danny Rand you can tell this guy is so passionate about the character. We would’ve seen some excellent work coming from him. He was ready and wanted to show the naysayers what he’s got and I wanted to witness what I already knew was an underrated talent.

Now I want Iron Fist to live to see another season, that cliffhanger man it desperately needs a follow up. But I do not want a repeat of the Colleen Wing Show like it was this season. Nope. I have no interest in her over Danny. So she either needs to go to Luke Cage with Misty or both of them should get their Daughters of the Dragon spin-off. I saw what they were trying to do in IF2 but it was a failure. All it did was disrespect the titular hero and his comic origins.

If this season has proven anything its that the concept of Danny and Colleen working as co-protagonist DOES NOT work here. Iron Fist is supposed to be Danny Rand’s story first and foremost, its not a joint POV.
