finally got around to posting this. In real life female Echidnas will carry their egg in their pouch leading up to the egg hatching (usually hatches after 10 days) and then keep the puggle in the pouch for another 4 to 5 weeks until it’s quills start coming in and then she will move the puggle to a burrow, where she care for it until it’s about 7 months old .

So with Mobian Echidnas I had the thought that it would be common practice to keep the egg in a satchel / sling as a way of keeping it safe and close while it’s not in a nest (crib ??) this will be done by either parent and they will also keep the newly hatched puggle in it as well until they are old enough to start walking.

I am really bad at writing so hopefully this makes sense lol, if it’s not obvious I love echidnas they are one of my favorite animals ( Have been long before I got into sonic) feel free to use this idea.
