This roasted leek & blood orange salad is a winter dream. Buttery roasted leeks, juicy blood oranges, creamy burrata cheese, crisp radishes, roasted hazelnuts, and fresh herbs. It’s bright and refreshing, with lots of richness from the burrata.

They are delicious. Working on this picture reminded me that the color green is my arch-nemesis. Do you have a color that you feel is challenging to work with? Or that you do not like?
To see the earthy vegetables cleaned of soil and laid out ready for storage every fall brings such a joy for me. The work of a successful summer garden and harvest at the end of the season gives proof of a future that provides for winter health and happiness.
Hello again…Things have finally aligned such that I feel I am able to start posting again. it's been a really eventful past year+ for me and i'm feeling a bit indulgent, so in the "blogging spirit", here is a little life update from me:
in 2023, I moved across the country to be with my boyfriend! Some of you may already know him. cohabitation has been a delight, but it's also been quite eventful. shortly after moving in together, I was unexpectedly pregnant and had a miscarriage within the first trimester. I don't care to get too personal here, but it was quite a taxing experience both physically and mentally, especially as we had decided to keep the baby.
soon after that we found out that among other things my mother had stolen checks out of my checkbook and cashed out a very significant portion of my savings in an event I probably should have seen coming but did not. such is life.
a lot of my time is now spent working…i don't have as much free time as I used to, but I'm still drawing quite regularly. Dane @myskyperevenge and I have been working on a project together that we are hoping to share with you this fall. It's called "Grief Complex", because that's what it's about. I may post some previews of it here in the next few months.
on another note I also started gardening. don't know if anything will come of it or if I will be good at it, especially since we don't get a lot of sun here… but I guess we'll see :)
