Note

What are the inspirations behind each of your Power Rangers OCs and who are each of them named after? ✊🏻💥🌈📝🎨

Most of their inspos gonna have to be on individual bios since i put a LOT of research into them. To keep it brief

Created my ocs to fill in extra colors/elements/motifs as is fandom tradition but also to have more female nonwhite rangers in non stereotypical roles

Overall myth arc is set up like a generational saga so most rangers come from the same family barring a few exceptions

Moat of the names I just made up on the spot but some do habe thematic ties

Maria and Bianca came out of the desire to have a sibling team and for Maria to already establish a candidate to replace her. So they're the leads from MMPR to In Space

Maria is inspired loosely on Maria del Barrio, but also Cassie from Animorphs, Katie Kazoo, and several rl musicians

Bianca was based on Lois Lane being an active stubborn journalist trying to uncover the Rangers identities. The conflict was Maria keeping a secret from her own sister

After Space I thought maybe Bianca could continue being a ranger as the purple galaxy ranger; then i came up with Phenomenous's niece

Dr. Phenomenous is shortened to Dr. Phenom, and she had ice powers to contrast Leo's fire (being love interests, sorry leo x kendrix/karone fans!!) She's loosely based on the source material Gingaman which is why she has an interest in horses and has a unicorn Galactabeast

Alya's name from Miraculous Ladybug obviously; she was going to be a cop but after some time...ACAB baby!

Kyra was created so Cole could have a closer connection to his biological family; her surname sounds like 'lion'

Wendy is based on Devon Aoki's character from 2Fast 2 Furious; she is also Eric Meyers' love interest. I thought about making her Quantum Pink since their romance are foil to Wes x Jen.

Allison is meant to be the dutiful Star Student to contrast the antics of the Ninja Storm's trio her arc was learning not to take everything too seriously. Also to fill in the missing element Fire

Rosita was introduced into mmpr lore as a toddler; Dino thunder has her became a ranger in freshman year of HS. She's based disney channel protagonists like Miley & Raven. Her name is because of pink roses and she's the Pink Ranger.

Violetta's name is for her ranger color; ppl just call her Letty for short. Her number is actually 7 for good luck

Originally Opal Octavia and Olivia were all going to be purple Rangers then i decided to give them unique to better distinct them from one another. So Opal is silver (jewellery), Octavia is Violet, and Olivia is pink

Silvia's name sounds similar to silver and her element is Metal. Also played around her being the Silver ranger opposite to Gold Ranger Antonio. Her originally faceclaim was Demi Lovato

Bobi was originally a yt redhead and her name was at random. But now She's a black redhead. Also she and Silvia went to the same middle school

Frieda is named after rhe blue haired girl from El Tigre i thought her name is so pretty. Also fills in for yellow bc omg how they forget yellow???

"Oh my, is that for me?" Tamesis asked, smiling coyly at Devon.

Devon leaned against the doorpost, clad only in a black leather miniskirt with matching thigh-high boots and taped black X's across her nipples. "I don't know," she purred. "Do you want it to be?" She smirked and pushed herself away from the post and slowly made her way across the bedroom towards her partner.

Unfazed, Tamesis simply replied, "You were wearing something else earlier for your show, why did you change? I thought you finished like fifteen minutes ago?"

Devon stood beside Tamesis and booped faer nose. "I did finish, yeah." She supressed a smirk and waited for Tamesis to roll fear eyes at the pun. "But I'm doing a private session with Lynx in a bit. I had to cancel the other week because of that seizure, so I want to make it up to them."

"Oh," was all Tamesis said, then fae tilted faer head. "Do you still want to come to Avalon tomorrow then? Cal texted me earlier as she'll be going too."

Devon bit her lower lip and drew a sharp breath, considering. "Maybe not for breakfast, but what about brunch? Eleven okay? I should be able to get up at ten with sufficient sleep." She gently caressed the soft, black fur of the cat that lay purring at Tamesis' feet. "Hey Pixie."

"Sure, I'll let Cal now we'll be a bit later." Fae smiled. "And you do look awesome. I'm sure Lynx will love it. Will you be adding a wig too?"

"Hmm, maybe…" Devon ran a hand through her cropped raven hair. "Which one?"

"The long— No, wait!" Faer blue eyes shimmered. "What about that black mask you got last month? It would def match the rest. Oh! And maybe some black lipstick and then smear it to one side?"

Devon grinned. "You got good taste, babe." She bent forward to plant a kiss on top of Tamesis' forehead. "I'll go get to that then. But yeah, I'll be working for a little while longer, so don't stay up for me."

"Okay." Fae pursed faer lips toward Devon, signalling fae wanted another kiss and Devon happily obliged. "Have fun. I'll be seeing you on the other side whenever you get to bed."

"You too—though not too much without me." She stuck out her tongue in jest.

And with that, Devon left, hips swaying and humming along to a tune in her head from her earlier webcam show.

we all know Raven and Devon still have the hots for each other ("I don't care if we're divorced, that is hot"/ "[cute and cheap] I was married to that once"/"I just got a chill like your mom was in the room"/"Can't I drop by to see my lovely ex-wife?")

we all know they divorced because they were high school sweethearts and they grew apart

but in season 3, there have been so many hints or trinkets that are dropped about them that make me think they might be end game

here's some examples:

S3E09

Raven says she's not excited to see Devon cause he's "always driving on her side of the road". She flirts with the host of the show a bit, but the second Devon walks in, she panics and gets off the couch. Devon then proceeds to call her "his Raven". By the end of the show, he says "look at what we made, Rae" and she tells him "I'm glad you're in my lane. You're not so bad lately. You're not so bad."

LATELY. HE'S NOT SO BAD LATELY. So he's changed (in whatever way) since the divorce and she's noticed and likes it!

S03E15

This amazing episode was directed by the lovely Raven-Symoné and it had some really cute moments between the kids and Devon and also gave us some more insight into Raven and Devon's marriage.

The moments I'm thinking about more than anything are when Devon can sense when Raven is there. Initially, it's only when Nia and Tess are wearing her clothes, but even later in the episode, he knows she's there before she comes into Booker's room. He literally can feel when she's around. To me, that is the cutest fucking thing.

Another moment I'm thinking about is when Nia freaks out because she thought she lost Raven's "priceless" earring. Devon tells her later that he literally found those earrings on the ground before he gave them to Raven. And when he hears that Raven refers to them as "priceless", he gets smug and says "I still got it". Like??! Adorable?!! He knows that he still effects Raven in some romantic way and he's proud of it.

The final moment from that episode that I love is when they're talking in Booker's room about his visions and they argue about him proposing to her. First of all, finding out how/when Raven finally told Devon she was psychic is like, a dream come true for me. I hated that he didn't know in TSR. She clearly trusted him, but she couldn't tell him she was psychic?? Like, I understand not in s2 when they were only like 16, but by s4, she easily could have told him. So knowing when and how is super thrilling and adorable at the same time. "If the restaurant only has two stars then the ring better have 10 carats!" She literally couldn't contain herself when it came to him proposing and had to spill the beans about her psychic abilities because of it.

This also goes along with my theory that she was young and pregnant at the time of him proposing because he initially planned on taking her to a restaurant that was cheap because they were both in school and probably couldn't afford much. She even says "that was the start of you not listening to me" which makes me think that the ring was definitely not 10 carats because honestly how could he afford that if he can't even afford to take her to a decent restaurant?

S3E16

my. fucking. heart.

This episode gave me all the emotions between Booker's vision, Nia and Booker getting excited over the possibility of their parents getting back together, and then the disappointment when it all falls apart. I was ready to cry by the end of this episode. (also wanna point out that I've been WAITING for this plot since S01E02 when we find out Devon is the kid's father)

Let's break it down, shall we?

Now, Devon bringing all their "memories of Christmas past" just immediately sends off a light bulb in my head. He was excited they were all together for Christmas again and wanted to bring back some of those good memories they had before the divorce. Booker went through the same thing when he was looking at old photos and remembering the good times.

Then we get his vision of Devon "proposing" to Raven (throwback to TSR episode "There Goes the Bride" anyone?). While I knew it was too good to be true and he obviously misinterpreted his vision (like mother like son), just the mere fact that Raven blatantly said "I love you" to Devon gave me butterflies. She didn't apologize for it or stumbled to catch herself after she said it. She said it and meant it. She does love him. Even if she only said it because he saved her tree ornament, it was still said and it was honest.

Devon and Chelsea'a panic over what to get Raven for Christmas was both hilarious and heartwarming. No one else in the world knows her better than her ex-husband and her best friend. The fact that they both continuously got her the same gift was really cute.

Booker realizing he misinterpreted his vision broke my heart. We all know a lot of children of divorce want nothing more than to have their parents rekindle their relationship and get back together, so it's no surprise there when they were both disappointed because it didn't happen, but my God I wanted to give both Booker and Nia a hug so bad. Raven and Devon recognizing that their kids were sad was a really good moment and important because I feel like when those situations happen, the kids don't tell their parents what they were going through and those emotions get pushed down. But this time they talked it out and they still counted the fact that they were all together on Christmas as a blessing. And I love that.

With all that being said, I'm sure I'm missing some more moments, so feel free to add them, but I will forever hold out hope that Raven and Devon do find their way back together. Yes, they grew apart in their marriage, but maybe since being separated they can grow back together. I understand the chances are slim (Raven has said many times it's good to see a "healthy divorce") so it wouldn't make sense to go against that and give false hope to kids watching that their parents can get back together, but my HEART still ships Raven and Devon SO MUCH. I'd give ANYTHING for just a little bit of handholding!

Anyway, this took a lot longer than I expected it to, my phone battery has dropped 30% since I've been typing this, and a coworker accused me of "writing on wattpad", so I think I'm done for now.

EDIT: Throughout most of the series, Raven is wearing a ring on her ring finger still. Obviously not the engagement ring, but possibly the wedding band?? I know it's just a ring, but ugh, my HEART.

I know that I started with Raven’s Home, but I just had to stop and go rewatch That’s So Raven.

I wonder what happened to Eddie over the years between the two shows. Considering the actor’s problems with the law and drugs in recent years, I doubt that we’ll see him, but a mention of him would be nice.

I loved Raven’s style. Why don’t today’s shows have such amazing wardrobe departments?

I also wanted to see the relationship of Raven and Devon before it ends in divorce.

Raven’s style and fashion designing was prevalent from the beginning. The poor thing is being wasted making clothes for dumb rich bitches’ dogs. I understand that she is a single, divorced, working mother trying to make ends meet, but still...

I wonder if Cory or Raven’s parents will ever make an appearance on Raven’s Home.
