Rooster paced back and forth in their living room, his nerves getting the best of him. He had been planning this surprise for Beatrice for a few days now, and he couldn't shake off the excitement and jitters that came with it. It was early afternoon, the sun casting a warm glow through the windows, and he knew that Beatrice would be home soon.
His plan was simple, yet he hoped it would bring a smile to her face. He checked his watch as they set the groceries down on the kitchen counter, surreptitiously looking over Beatrice when she hummed to herself, busy with everything they got that day.
"Hey, babe," Rooster called out, trying to sound casual as he leaned against the door frame that led from the kitchen to the living room.
Beatrice looked up, her eyes lighting up at the sight of him. "Hey! Everything's almost sorted out here," she said, wiping her hands on a kitchen towel. "How's Nikki?"
Did she mean his tiny partner in crime? Rooster gave her a quick smile, though his mind was racing. "She’s great.” he flicks his gaze back to where she was happily sitting on the couch, bouncing her little legs.
“That’s great!I’m just going to put everything away.”
"Sure thing," Rooster replied, trying to keep his tone casual. He walked over to her, his heart pounding with both excitement and a hint of nervousness. "Actually, there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Beatrice raised an eyebrow, curiosity evident in her expression. "Oh? What's the big secret?"
He grinned, his eyes meeting hers. "Well, it's not a big secret, per se, but it's something I think you'll like." He paused, taking a breath to steady his nerves. "You know how we've been talking about taking Nikki for her first little ‘official’ outing?"
A smile tugged at the corner of Beatrice's lips but she furrowed her brows, “Well…yes, didn’t we already? She did go to the beach."
Rooster chuckled softly at Beatrice's response. "You're right, she did go to the beach," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. "But what I mean is a slightly different kind of outing. I've been doing some research and found a place that I think you'll both really enjoy."
Beatrice's curiosity was piqued, and she leaned in a bit closer, her eyes gleaming with interest. "Oh, really? What kind of place?"
Rooster's excitement bubbled over as he revealed his plan. "Well…the old theater is uh,having some 90s movies marathons,” he adds casually, “And I don’t want to say anything, but I think,” he looks over his shoulder back to where Nicole was, her squeaking footsteps approaching, “I think she might have a choice already.”
As he spoke, Nikki's little footsteps grew closer, and soon she toddled over to them in her adorable 90s-themed outfit. Beatrice's eyes widened as she looked down at their daughter, who was the epitome of cuteness in her mini denim overalls and colorful scrunchie.
"Oh my goodness, look at her!" Beatrice cooed, her heart melting at the sight of Nikki. "She's absolutely adorable! Did you pick out this outfit? Wait-how did you change her so quickly??"
Rooster chuckled, pride evident in his gaze as he looked at Nikki. "Yeah, I did," he admitted, his voice filled with affection. "And I am very good at that, aren’t I Nikki?”
“Yea!”
“See?”
Beatrice knelt down to Nikki's level, her fingers gently brushing against the scrunchie. "Oh my God,she looks like…Michelle from Full House!” Nicole giggled, babbling at her mother before she picked her up,smooching her cheek, “...wait when you mean theater–”
“I do mean the one from our first date, yeah.” he says sweetly, giving her a little side shrug and smirking down at her shocked face, “You know how much that place means to us.”
And Beatrice’s eyes watered, her hand immediately cupping her mouth as she laughs softly, “You…are so cute.”
Rooster grinned, his heart swelling with happiness at Beatrice's reaction. He loved how easily her emotions showed on her face, and her laughter was like music to his ears. He moved closer to her, gently brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I just thought it would be a fun and nostalgic surprise," he said, his tone warm and affectionate. "I remember how much we enjoyed that theater on our first date, and I thought it would be a great idea to have those memories with Nikki."
Beatrice's eyes were still glistening as she looked at Rooster, her love for him shining brightly. "You always know how to make moments special, gosh…" she said softly, her voice filled with genuine appreciation. "And you're right, that place does mean a lot to us." she still remembers him winning her Xenomorph plushie, it was often on their bed.
And while it scared Rooster twice when it was dark and he stubbornly refused to turn on the light and ended up thinking a wild animal got in their bed… he wasn’t mad about it.
Rooster leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'm glad you like the idea," he murmured against her skin. "I wanted to surprise you."
Beatrice smiled up at him, her fingers reaching up to trace the outline of his jaw. "You're the best," she whispered, her gaze locked with his. "How did you find that out?”
“Leo.”
“Leo?”
“Your brother took Bianca and Éwoyn to the movies. They watched Goonies and some other ones…and now Bianca wants to go treasure hunting so,” knowing how their niece was,it was obvious she’d be heavily influenced by that movie.
Beatrice smiles, of course her brother would jump into any nostalgic things to share with his girl whenever he was able to, “Well…I’m glad he told you.” she frowns a bit, “But is it safe to take Nikki? I mean, she’s not even one yet.”
"I thought about that too," he said, his tone reassuring. "The theater is doing these special family-friendly screenings, and they've taken measures to make sure the environment is safe for young children. It won't be too loud, and the lights won't be completely off like in regular movie screenings. Plus, we can always step out if Nikki gets fussy or overwhelmed."
Beatrice's lips pursed as the thought about it.She trusted Rooster's judgment, especially when it came to their daughter's well-being. "That sounds reasonable," she admitted, adjusting Nikki in her hold. "I guess it would be a nice experience for Nikki too, and I'm sure she'll enjoy being out with us."
Rooster's grin returned, and he leaned in to press a soft kiss against Beatrice's lips. "I knew you'd understand," he murmured against her lips. "And honestly, I can't wait to see Nikki's reaction to the big screen. Maybe she'll be as captivated by the movies as we were."
Beatrice chuckled, "Who knows? Maybe she'll grow up to be a film buff," she teased playfully. "But…yeah,I like the idea.I do.’
“I’m glad.”
Her smile widens, her eyes narrowing, “...you have something else in your sleeve.”
“Who,me?” he scoffs, looking away, “No.”
“ You're not keeping any other surprises from me?"
Rooster let out a faux exasperated sigh, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Honestly, Beatrice, I can't believe you'd even think that," he said, feigning hurt. "Here I am, just trying to plan a simple movie outing, and you accuse me of having secret plans." he puts a hand over his heart, “Gorgeous, that hurts.”
Beatrice couldn't help but laugh at him, gently swatting his shoulder, “I love your surprises and I love you…I just, you know, wanna know what goes on.” she smiles, then looks around the kitchen for a few seconds, “Anyway,I better finish this up so we can go to the movies.” she kisses Nicole’s head before handing her to Rooster.
“I can help you, gorgeous.” he says, already turning on his heel to follow her, “Why don’t we do this, you can water the plants outside while I take care of the groceries.”
Beatrice blinked, looking back at him with her hands still inside a bag, “...I did mention I wanted to do that, huh?”
"Yeah, you might have mentioned it once or twice," he said with a playful grin. "But I figured I'd offer since I'm already here, and it'll give you more time to get ready for our movie outing."
Beatrice's lips curled into a warm smile. She propped her hands on her hips, arching her brow at him. "Well, aren't you just full of surprises today?" she teased, playfully nudging him with her elbow.
He shrugged nonchalantly, a twinkle in his eyes. "What can I say? I'm just a guy who likes to keep you on your toes."
Beatrice laughed softly, shaking her head in mock exasperation. "You definitely succeed at that," she admitted, leaning in to give him a quick peck on the lips. "But I wouldn't have it any other way."
“Or you could,I mean-”
She clears her throat, pointing her gaze at an oblivious Nicole who was just happily playing with her father’s shirt, “Anyway,” she taps his cheek, only to replace her hand with her lips, giving a firm but sweet peck on it, “I’ll be outside, if you need me.” she walks away from him, only to earn a swift and quick pinch to her left butt cheek, making her squeak in surprise before speeding her steps.
-
The garden was okay, they didn’t have a gardener since Beatrice liked to work on it herself whenever she was able to. But right now, they just needed some water and she could do that.
She wanted to get out of the house now that she was no longer worried about the twins, well, not that much anymore, she could focus on other things. Her smile widened as she heard the water hitting the soft ground below her, recalling Rooster’s absolutely adorable way of surprising her.
“Oh,he’s so cute.” she tells herself, looking through the window and seeing her husband was busy putting everything inside the cabinets while holding Nicole in his other arm….and his arm looked so nice too, she could stare at him for hours without getting tired of it.
Jolene was keeping her company by lying in front of the closed door with her eyes closed, just enjoying the sunlight as she napped. It was very peaceful.
Until a voice broke the silence.
“Hellooo!!”
Beatrice and Jolene jumped in surprise, the brunette almost dropped the watering can on the ground, looking back in surprise when she saw someone, a woman, approaching.
Beatrice quickly recovered from her surprise, placing the watering can down and wiping her hands on her jeans before turning to face the approaching woman. She put on a friendly smile, though she was cautious due to the sudden intrusion.
"Hello there," Beatrice greeted, her tone polite. "Can I help you with something?"
The woman who had approached had a confident stride, her designer sunglasses perched on top of her head, and her perfectly manicured nails clicking as she adjusted her handbag. She looked around the garden with a slightly critical eye before finally focusing her attention on Beatrice.
"Oh, I just thought I'd stop by and say hello," the woman replied, her tone sugary sweet. "I heard there's a new NAVY wife in the neighborhood, and well, I like to make sure everyone feels welcome."
Beatrice blinked in surprise, “Well,I…we’ve been living here for a while now but…”
Beatrice's response seemed to slightly catch the woman off guard, though she quickly masked it with a gracious smile. "Oh, my apologies then. I must have misunderstood the timing. It's just that I make it a point to extend my greetings to all the wonderful Navy wives in the area."
Beatrice nodded, her friendly smile still in place, though she couldn't shake off a slight feeling of unease, only letting out a quiet nervous laugh. There was something about the woman's overly friendly demeanor that felt a bit forced. "Well, I appreciate the welcome," she replied, deciding to keep the conversation on a positive note. "I'm Beatrice, by the way."
The woman's smile widened, though there was a glimmer in her eyes that seemed almost calculating. "Lovely to meet you, Beatrice. I'm Miranda Caldwell." She held out a perfectly manicured hand for a shake, her nails painted a deep shade of red.
The way she was holding out her hand almost felt like she wanted Beatrice to kiss her knuckles.
“Oh,um…” she gently grasps the woman’s fingers, giving her an awkward shake, “Hello.”
Beatrice's hesitation didn't seem to faze Miranda as she continued to smile, though the glint in her eyes remained. Her handshake was firm, a touch too strong for a simple greeting, and Beatrice couldn't help but feel a subtle sense of…competition?
Miranda withdrew her hand gracefully, her smile not faltering. "Such a charming garden you have here, Beatrice. It must be quite the labor of love."
Beatrice nodded, proudly looking over the garden with a small smile. "Thank you. Gardening is something I enjoy doing."
Miranda's gaze wandered around the garden, her lips pursing thoughtfully. "You know, I always admire those who can find time for such hobbies. Life can be so busy, especially for Navy wives, wouldn't you agree?"
Beatrice's smile remained in place, though she felt the need to assert herself a bit. "Yes, it can get busy, but I believe in finding moments to do things that bring joy. It's all about balance."
Miranda's smile didn't waver, but her tone took on a slightly patronizing note. "Ah, balance. That's quite the buzzword these days, isn't it? It's wonderful that you've found a way to maintain your hobbies amidst all the duties and responsibilities."
Beatrice sucked air through her teeth while still keeping her smile, “Well,um…I do work, so,I think I can balance it quite well.”
“Oh? What is it that you work with?”
What is this, the FBI?
“...at the Hard Deck,” she says softly, “It’s a Navy bar,I’m a barmaid.”
Beatrice's response seemed to make Miranda's smile widen, as if she had uncovered a nugget of information that intrigued her. She nodded slowly, her tone retaining that hint of condescension. "A barmaid? How interesting. I suppose that does provide you with a unique perspective on Navy life."
Beatrice’s head went back for a minimal amount, in surprise, “...I…am married to an aviator.I am aware of how it is.” she ended with a laugh because oh boy, was she getting uncomfortable by this conversation. Jolene, sensing the uneasiness, approached Beatrice from behind and sat behind her legs, keeping her eyes on Miranda at all times.
Jolene wasn’t an angry or aggressive dog,but she could always surprise people.
“Well,I just am saying,” Miranda places her hand on her chest, “I’ve never seen you in our little meetings!”
“...meetings?”
“Why,yes!” she laughs as if she told the funniest joke, “Oh,you know we always have a little of girl time,” and she winks, but Beatrice’s smile drops a bit, “You must be aware there are other Navy wives close by.”
“...I…wasn’t,actually.”
Miranda's laughter seemed a touch forced, as if she was trying to brush off the awkwardness that was beginning to taint the conversation. "Oh, dear, I'm sorry if I assumed incorrectly," Miranda said, her tone tinged with a false sympathy that Beatrice was now perfectly capable of identifying. "It's just that we Navy wives like to stick together, you know, for support and camaraderie. And here I was thinking that you must have been invited to our gatherings."
Her discomfort was growing by the second. There was something about Miranda's words that made her feel like an outsider, like she was being judged for not being part of their exclusive circle. She managed a tight smile, though her voice betrayed a hint of sarcasm. "Well, you learn something new every day, I suppose."
Miranda's smile seemed to stretch even wider, her eyes narrowing slightly as if she was trying to size Beatrice up. "Absolutely, dear. And who knows, maybe you'll have a chance to join us sometime. We do enjoy getting together and sharing our experiences, you know, to support one another."
"I'll…definitely keep that in mind," she replied, her tone neutral.
“Good!” Miranda giggles, “I’ll see you around,Beatrice.Bye doggy!’ Jolene’s quiet growl was a surprise but Beatrice was almost glad because of it, “Oh, such a snappy little pup with strangers! Bye honey,I’ll see you at the Hard Deck, soon.” and she turns on her heel, walking away and disappearing as she turns on the sidewalk.
Beatrice just stands there, befuddled, furrowing her brows, “...what…just happened.” she asks herself, and Jolene, who was now back to her calm self looking up at her, “What just happened. Do I attract people like that?”
Jolene tilted her head and let out a soft, questioning woof, as if trying to offer some kind of understanding or consolation. Beatrice just leaned down close enough to pet Jolene’s head and then look to where the woman disappeared, “...weird.”
“What’s weird?”
“Rooster!” second time she’s spooked, “Jesus!”
Her husband gives her a wide eyed look, holding his hand up in defense,”Woah, hey, sorry gorgeous. Damn, what got you so bristled?”
Beatrice took a deep breath, her heart still racing a bit from the encounter. She glanced back at Jolene, giving her a reassuring pat, and then turned her attention to Rooster. "Oh, it's just... I had the most peculiar interaction with a woman named Miranda. She approached me while I was in the garden and... well, she was quite something."
Rooster raised an eyebrow, "Who?’
Beatrice proceeded to recount the whole encounter, from Miranda's overly friendly demeanor to the awkward mentions of Navy wives gatherings and her subtle condescension. She watched as Rooster's expression shifted from curiosity to mild amusement as he listened.
"Ah,you met one of them.”
“Them?”
“Yes, the Ones Who Shall Not be Named.”
“...Rooster.”
He snorts, “Remember when I said some people take the role of being a Navy wife too serious and as their whole personality?” he grabs the watering can from Beatrice, “I think that woman was just like that.”
“Well,” she huffs, “I didn’t lik her.”
“Aw,baby.” he coos, kissing her cheek then the tip of her nose, “Course you don’t, you know why?” she gives him the angry puppy dog eyes when he cups her chin, “‘Cause you are cute. And sweet, and you have a personality that drives me nuts.”
She leaned into his touch, blushing just a bit "Thanks Roos," she said with a sigh, wrapping her arms around his waist in a comforting hug. "I know I shouldn't let someone like that bother me, but sometimes it just catches me off guard."
Rooster held her close, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "It happens to the best of us, gorgeous. Just remember that you're strong, confident, and you don't need validation from anyone like her…and you are damn sexy."
Beatrice giggled against his chest, tilting her head up at him, “Personal input on that,LC?”
His pupils enlarged and he leaned down to kiss her forehead, “Hands on experience, gorgeous.” and he gently taps her butt, “Now go get ready,we’ll leave in a bit.”

Hai Patchy!!!!
I love this ask game!! My blorbo is Katsuki! (And Shouto if I can be selfish and have snuggle pile with these two!)
And the movie we all will be watching would be a marathon of all 6 transformers plus Bumblebee! (I know someone else said that, but those are my favorite movies! It was actually hard to choose, until I saw that and was like I haven't watched them all in a while!)
If I can't crash the Transformers slumber party from the other person, then I want a marathon of all 3 Iron Man movies! (Because the Ironman trilogy is also my favorite movies!!)
Oooh wait Let's watch the 2 RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies!!!!!! Ahh this is so hard to choose!!!!
Have a fantastic day, or night or whenever you see this!!!!
All the movies you have listed are AMAZING! I am also a big fan of the Ironman trilogy and the RDJ Sherlock movies! Suppose this movie night will be a weekend! And I suppose that means there should be more people to snuggle with!
But if they start bickering, they're getting kicked out!! 😠
Nonetheless, go and get comfy!

I had a very much needed Iron Man marathon today. Robert Downey Jr. is seriously a god amongst men. Everytime I watch his Marvel films, I am so grateful that he was chosen to play Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark/Iron Man. No matter what roles he has/or will have, I will always remember him as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Do you think (slightly quirky and eccentric) Robert Downey Jr. Is one of the best actors of our time? How about Tom Hanks?
Robert Downey Jr is the best actor Marvel has. While Ironman is not RDJ’s best work, but Marvel’s best work is from RDJ.  Marvel will be weaker without him.
Prior to Ironman, RDJ’s work was versatile but he wasn’t a versatile actor, just a very good actor with range.  He can express wide range of emotions and ideas through his performance by being electric and memorizing, his dialogue and actions appear to be not written or rehearsed but just so happened to be captured by the camera, so you can’t take your eyes off of him as he sucks you into his terrible plans and narcissistic justifications.  I get frustrated with RDJ’s performance in Ironman because it looks half finished, like the camera stopped filming midway his performance.  I think some of the problem is RDJ doesn’t have an equal counterweight in Marvel.  Chris Evans, bless his heart, tried but he doesn’t have a planet-size killer instinct to go head to head with RDJ.   Jude Law and Kelly Reilly (Mr and Mrs. Watson) as a pair are among the few actors that can go up against RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes’ force of nature.
I miss RDJ’s quiet acting in his Oscar nominated Chaplin role, his satirical brilliance in Tropic Thunder (also Oscar nominated), and his tour de force in Two Girls and a Guy.  None of those movies are great, but RDJ was super great in them.
Tom Hanks has an unique, everyman quality that lends a sense of authenticity to (almost) every role he plays while typecaste as "average'. Sure, the characters are different, but they're all average and they're all relatable. While not a true character actor, he can play many parts even though he is often fairly similar in them. I mean, it's not hard to imagine Forrest Gump running a marathon and then getting on a plane that crashes, ending up stranded as a castaway, and then finding a ship only to have it hijacked by pirates.
Tom plays the The Modern Innocent role very well, a character who is uncompromised by life’s knowledge and characterized by optimism, simplicity, goodness, or faith.  These characters are not driven by Darwinism motives such as sex and aggression, because their stories are meant to speak to the child in all of us i.e. Forrest Gump, Mr. Roger, his old comedic roles.

Quarantine fun times and tickles; Joe Mazzello x reader
*Author’s note*
As many of us in the BoRhap fandom know from Joe’s recent video, I couldn’t help but make a fanfic inspired from that video that just makes me smile from ear to ear. In light of these dark times, esp. when states or countries are officially going on FULL lockdown isolation. But I hope in light of the events going on in the world, this fic gives you guys some fluffy feels. Just side note I DO NOT OWN any of the shows mentioned here, they belong to their owners and stations.

__________________________________________________________
With this whole Corona quarantine putting everyone in isolation, I was thankful that my boyfriend of over 3 years Joe Mazzello was home again.  He was doing some film with my favorite childhood actress Ashley Tisdale (of course he wouldn’t tell me the name of the project, just something having to do with ducks and them up in a farm).  But now the project has been put on hold and now Joe and I were stuck at home just doing whatever.
I was currently sitting down in the living room watching the Ridiculousness weekend marathon that MTV is doing every weekend in order to keep everyone inside.  The show was one of my guilty pleasures cause it’s the only show on MTV I watch.
Yeah they do some of the gross stuff like puking or farts, but they also do some really funny, epic or cute videos (and those are what I love).
I just saw a video of a man trying to leap up on a trashcan and he managed to successfully jump up on top of it and not fall through.  But when his friend tried to do the same trick, his feet went right through the lid and he as well as the trashcan fell over and he slammed his back right on the concrete.
“Ohh! Ow! He is not Elf material.”
“Too much weight.” Both Steelo and Channel said and I nodded in agreement.
“Definitely too much weight. That guy was definitely not Elf material. Too much force on his knees when he did the jump.” It was then I heard the muffled shouts of my boyfriend coming up from our room.  “Oh dear, he’s at it again.”
I forced myself off the couch and walked up the stairs and as I got closer to the bedroom, I heard Joe’s voice proclaimed.
“CAN’T TELL THE DIFFERENCE CAN YAH?! I’ll just wear this to auditions. Perfect. THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!” I opened the door and I said.
“Have you finally cracked under the pressure of quarantine again Joey?”
“Baby no I’m making a Youtube video for my channel.” He answered.
“Oh shit I’m sorry.”
“Hey no swearing missy! This is a family show! Folks I’d like to introduce you to someone you know, my lovely lady (y/n). Yeah everybody there’s my gorgeous girl right there.” He turned his camera right at me and I shyly ducked my face into my hands and gave the camera a wave.
“Please tell me you aren’t live streaming right now.”
“Nah I’m just gonna upload it later on.” He set the camera back down and I sat down on the bed and said.
“What’s got you to upset this time? I could hear you screaming from downstairs.”
“Not intentionally mad. Just—tell me and be honest. Do I really look like this stuffed animal broccoli thing?” he held up the bigger sized stuffed broccoli with the smiley face. “Cause a fan said this reminds them of me in Bohemian Rhapsody. And I thought the whole purpose of being a stan was to be nice to them. This qualifies as unattractive.”
He held it up to his face so that I could see if there was a resemblance between the two.  I put on my thinking face and stroked my imaginary beard before I deducted.
“Wow…..they’re right I can hardly tell the difference.”
“R-Really? You too? My god you—see even my own girlfriend turned against me! THANK YOU!!” he cried out.  I shook my head at my silly man before he deeply exhaled and said. “You know what, you deserve a broccoli punch.”
“Oh no!”
“Oh yeah.” He said with a quick nod and had an evil look on his face.
“Joe I love you but I swear to god if you do this there will be no more texting Ben in the group chats for a month.”
“I normally would act all dramatic and plead and beg for you not to do that. But I feel too betrayed to succumb to that.” He grabbed the bigger sized broccoli and I quickly raced out of the room.
But Joe quickly intercepted me and threw me over his shoulder.  I shrieked and repeatedly punched his back.
“Joseph Francis Mazzello III you put me down this minute! Put me down or you will suffer the consequences!” he flipped me over onto the bed and got on top of me.  He grabbed both my wrists and held them up over my head before changing his grip from both hands to just one holding my wrists together.
Then with no warning or even a chance to have me take back my statement, Joe went ahead and gave me one of his infamous ‘broccoli punches’.
“Joe! JOE WAHAHAHAHIHEHEHT! NOOO!!!”
“Nope you must suffer a broccoli punch. Each accounting for your age.”
“WHAT!? YOU’LL DO THIS ALL DAY THEN!!! YOU COUNT SLOW!!!”
“Oh-ho another insult? Well then I’d say we double them then.”
“NOOOOO!! OKAY! OKAY! OKAY I’M SORRY! UNCLE! UNCLE!” He stopped and his face hovered over mine.
“You gonna surrender?”
“Yes.”
“And you take back what you said about me looking like that gross vegetable?”
“Can I just say one thing?”
“If it’s negative, you’re gonna get raspberries on your tummy for five straight minutes. No stopping.” I cupped his face and said.
“The only thing that’s similar between you guys, besides the top head of it when you had the floofy wig, is that both of you have this wide, dazzling, adorable smile.” He looked down at me with an unreadable expression.
But then a split second later, he leaned down and captured my lips with his.  I stroked his scruffy cheek and kissed him back with a little more passion.  I softly moaned as I moved my hand through his messy auburn hair.  His kisses then moved up and down the right side of my neck, getting around my sweet spot (cause I’m more sensitive on the right side of my neck than my left. And Joe LOVES to exploit that).
I felt his hand go under my shirt slowly sliding up as he continued to kiss up and down my neck.  I exhaled a moan and that’s when my attention was sent right to the camera that was still recording.
“Wait. Wait Joe, Joey, Joey!” I said snapping out of it trying to get him off of me.
“What?” he groaned impatiently.
“The camera’s still recording.” I said to him. He turned towards it and made one of those goofy surprise noises he sometimes makes as he quickly raced over towards it and shut it off.  I giggled in embarrassment. “Oh thank god you were not live streaming.”
“Yeah. But on one hand we could relive that moment forever and ever.”
“And on another note, you and I would be jobless.” I sassed him back.
“Good point. Plus I don’t want any perverts looking at your body. The only one allowed to do that is me.” I chuckled and rolled my eyes as him as I threw the smaller broccoli stuffy at him. “Rude much babe!”
“Then stop saying silly stuff!” I said.  “Other than that, let me see what else the fans have given you.”
“Oh well I know how much you like Russian nesting dolls, so I got this custom made Bohemian Rhapsody nesting doll.” He then showed me what a fan had made him.
“Oh my god.” We sat there on the bed and I held it in my hands. “Of course Rami being the main display, let’s see whose next.” I opened it up and there was Gwilym in his Oscar’s suit.
“You got your Gwilym, my buddy.”
“Yep one of your lovers.” I teased.
“Hey, you know you’re my number 1.”
“Really? I thought that was Ben Cardy.”
“Well—” I shoved his shoulder. “I’m kidding! It’s you. It’s always been you, it’s always gonna be you.” I smiled at him before turning back to the nesting doll.  Next was Ben in his Oscar white suit, wearing his shades and his lips pursed in that “Ooo” fashion.  “And finally you have…..” I opened it up and the smallest doll was my baby Joey.
“You. The heart and soul of the movie.”
“Yep. Me. Inside—of Ben.”
“Ugh gross Joe!” I groaned out.
“Pervert. You’re just as bad as them!” he gestured to the camera.
“You seriously need to think before you speak Joey. Cause I swear…..GAHHH NO NOT AGAIN!!!” he tackled me to the bed and proceeded to tickle my stomach once again.  He even gave the right side of my neck raspberries and ticklish nips.
“Take it back. Take it back.” He ordered me.
“I TAKE IT BACK!! I TAKE IT BAHAHAHACK!!” I proclaimed which made him stop and look down at me. “Why do you always have to tickle me in order to get me to agree with you?”
“Cause it’s fun.” He shrugged nonchalantly.  “And it makes your cuteness factor go way up.” He said as he rose his arm up over his head to show me just how much my cuteness factor is.
“You’re a dork.”
“But I’m your dork. Whom you love and treasure and will never upset because he knows your weakness.” He said as he nuzzled his nose into my neck and squeezed my sides which made me shriek and him chuckle evilly.
“Please Joey no more tickling.” I whined as I pouted up at him.
“Okay no more for today.” He pecked my lips before playfully booped my nose.  We smiled at each other as his nose would gently brush up against mine. “So what shall we do today?”
“You not gonna finish your video for your fan gifts?”
“I’ll finish it later. Besides I’ll need to cut out that brief PG-13 make out session.”
“Yes please do.”
“So since I heard you laughing and groaning downstairs that could only mean you were watching the Ridiculousness marathon. May I join you?”
“You may good sir. Then afterwards we can catch you up on the Marvel movies.”
“Do I have to?”
“Yes. I gotta get you on Team Cap before you watch Civil War.”
“Sorry babe, I’m Team Ironman all the way. And I haven’t even watched all of them or in order.”
“Traitor why though!?” I whined.
“Can’t go wrong with RDJ, he’s a legend. How can you turn your back on him? Rami did a freakin movie with him just this year!”
“Yeah but Steve made some good points in the film that you’ll understand. I will convert you to Team Cap by the end.”
“Yeah right.” We got up from the bed as the two of us continued to bicker about who was better Cap or Ironman as we went downstairs and a new episode of Ridiculousness was starting up.

Movie Marathon!
I’ve been binge watching movies on AMC. So far we’ve seen Sherlock Holmes featuring the lovely Robert D. Junior and Jurassic Park: the Lost World. Lots of fun. I’m so tired I can’t remember what other movies were on. I’ve been up since 3 pm yesterday afternoon, and I plan on staying awake until at least 10 tonight.

3, 9, 13, 15, and 22 for the end of year ask game <3
3. Favourite artist you started listening to this year: probably Sam fender or counterfeit. I’ve discovered so much good music this year so it’s hard to chose but seriously go check those out.
9. Best month of this year for you: I’d have to say January. I mean everything after March was a shit show, so it’s not hard to be the best. In January I had some great moments with friends, read the picture of Dorian gray for the first time and started watching doctor who so that makes it a good month.
13. How was your birthday this year? : well it was last week, and I was in self isolation due to a COVID case at my school. My girlfriend (who has a shitty home life) couldn’t call me because she had her phone taken away. So mostly I ate cake and talked to my mum. It was okay, and I got a beautiful necklace with a wonderful letter that made me cry from my mum so not the worst it could have been. Also bonus points because we had an rdj movie marathon.
15. Bad habit I picked up this year: I now nervously braid strands of my hair, so that’s fun.
22. Best place I visited this year: not that I got to go far, but when the restrictions were laxer here in England I went to my favourite book shop with my girlfriend (our tradition ever since we met when we were 11) and honestly nothing is more comforting than a familiar bookstore, a loved one and the friendly homeless man who visits the shop each day and tells stories better than the ones on the shelves. Also, discovered an amazing and beautiful new spot that’s less than five minutes walk from my house and during lockdown I went for a walk and read and sketched there every day.
Thanks for the ask!

realization ; bang chan
Tumblr media
• summary: you and chan have a sleepover and he realizes he’s in love with you • pairing: bang chan x male!reader • word count: 757 • to do
“What’s on the itinerary?” Chan drops your favorite blanket on the couch and dumps a bag of treats and snacks on the coffee table.
You point to the table and fall onto the pile of soft blankets and pillows. “That and pirated movies.”
Chan jumps after you, landing halfway on your lap halfway on the couch. “You do know we can buy DVDs, right?”
“Where’s the fun in that?” You ask. “I like a little danger.”
“Pirated movies is the most danger you will ever experience.”
“I resemble that fact.”
You bury yourself in the fluff, gesturing for him to move closer. Chan smiles and joins you underneath the mountain of warmth. You open your laptop and hand him a pair of headphones, slipping your own in as you type with one hand.
“I want… superheroes.” You mumble, making Chan snort. “Marvel Movie Marathon?”
“I’m always down for a Marvel Movie Marathon.” He says the last three words faster than the others and your excitement radiates off of you.
He puts his own headphones in and watches you look through the semi-shady websites looking for the first Iron Man movie. You find one you deem most credible and click on it. The website buffers for a few seconds and you groan and throw your head back like it’s the greatest personal attack.
The website finally loads, and you can’t help your giddy dance as the iconic intros appear on screen. Chan’s excitement grows exponentially as he watches yours.
“Can’t you quote all of these movies word for word?”
“Probably.” You answer. “I like them. I like superheroes. I like RDJ. I want to be a superhero when I grow up.”
He can’t help but giggle and feel his heart swell at how absolutely adorable you are to him. “You’re my superhero.”
You shove him away, watching the movie with intense concentration. No matter how many times you’ve watched every Marvel movie out at the moment, watching them is always an event for you. They always make you infinitely happy and as you watch them, not much besides the movie, snacks, and the person beside you matters.
The movie slowly doesn’t matter to Chan anymore, quick stolen glances turning into a full own stare. His mind turns blank and he can’t really hear the movie in his headphones anymore as he watches you mumble the movie word for word but react like it’s your first time seeing it.
You dart your eyes up, tilting your head at him. He shakes his head and grabs a bag of Cheetos, setting it between you two, acting as if nothing is out of the ordinary. You don’t think anything of it, grabbing a handful of the bright orange chips.
Chan breathes out deeply. He’s thankful for your obliviousness but knows he won’t be able to focus on the movie anymore. His heart beats hard in his chest, slowly traveling up his throat. His stare becomes distant but makes a point to keep it on the screen.
You’re unaware of his internal battle. Not knowing about anything he’s thinking, you rest your head on his shoulder, still consistently munching on your chips. He gasps softly and stiffens before relaxing quickly, not wanting to alert you at all.
You spend the rest of your movie night in that position. You blissfully unaware of the arguments going on inside Chan and him completely distracted by you. Just you. Just you watching movies and opening seven different snacks without finishing any of them. You in your comfiest clothes, all of you covered expect your face and arms.
Chan doesn’t know how many movies pass before you close the laptop. He waits for you to say why you closed the laptop or quit watching the movies, assuming you got tired of them.
You look around at all the snacks, examining them closely. “Do you want… cookies?”
“What?”
You don’t repeat the question or wait for an answer, pushing off the blankets and haphazardly climbing over the arm of the couch. You search through your cabinets and call for Chan.
“I need a stick of butter and two eggs.”
Chan smiles and shakes his head, showing up in the kitchen within a few seconds. He watches you maneuver around the kitchen and can’t help the swelling of love moving through his body.
He decides he’ll spend the night with you and try to act like nothing’s going to change, as well as hope nothing will change whenever you both fully come to terms with how he feels.

Roses are Red, Tattoos are Forever
Chapter 3 --- previous chapter
Feysand masterlist
The Sherlock Conundrum
Florist and tattoo artist Au, Modern Day
“Can you please stop with this madness? Hugh Laurie is clearly the best Sherlock ever!”
They were both sitting on the couch of his living room. Really close to each other. She had her left knee under her body and was fully facing him. He had been throwing glances at her way the whole time she’s been there, and now was admiring her everything as they bantered lovingly.
After a particularly rough client, that had taken her nearly seven hours to finish, she came into his shop claiming: “We’re both closing earlier, I need to rest and so do you.”
At his attempt to tell her off, cause “I don’t need to rest I am in pristine fit every second of every minute”, she simply replied with an elongated ‘Please’ and a pair of puppy dog eyes that would’ve put a Labrador to shame.
Useless to say, they ended up on his couch half an hour later, a marathon of the fourth season of House M.D. on the television and chips and popcorn all around.
Feyre is harder than she looks, tougher. She likes to drink whiskey and burning liquor and beer.
Rhys, on the other hand, is a refined rosé man. He drinks fruity drinks and cocktails and vodka. He tried the same stuff that she drinks, once, when they went out with the rest of the inner circle after Az had received a promotion. It didn’t end well.
Feyre and Cassian will forever tease him about it.
Since their taste in alcohol was on such a wide spectrum, they decided to settle for some sparkly Coca-Cola for that fine night.
About halfway through episode six, the debate had begun. The show was soon forgotten and left as a white noise machine that lulled them into their silliness.
“Feyre Darling. You are being delusional. Dr House’s got nothing on RDJ’s Sherlock. Just cause the character was inspired by Conan Doyle’s work it doesn’t mean it can be considered a Sherlock.”
She laughed. A delicious sound that was filling his days more and more each morning. “Do you know that Conan Doyle based Shelly on a doctor, right? Also, yeah Jude Law’s better than Wilson, that is true.”
“Can we just agree that Cumberbatch and Freeman are equally amazing.”
“Yeah, duh! But, controversial opinion: I don’t actually ship Jonhlock romantically.”
“More like platonic soul-mates? Makes complete sense. They are not interested in each other at all. You are right, Fey-ruh Acheron.”
‘HOW DARE SHE...’, he thought severely displeased.
“Oh please don’t be pissed at me. I like them together and everything, but in my mind, Sherlock is pretty much ace-aro. I mean, Cumberbatch was also Smaug. Which in the books is described as a dragon while the movies decided to portray him like a vixen...” He solemnly nodded.
That is, indeed, a severe problem in mainstream media.
“That is, indeed, a severe problem in today mainstream media. We live in a world where people don’t know the difference between one another! Daenerys Mother of Dragons? More like Dany The Soccer Mom of three cool lizards. That would be more appropriate!”
“Don’t talk to me about Dany, I’m still pissed about Jonerys. I mean, fan-service much? Okay, I can deal with that. But don’t freaking kill Viserion and try to make us all believe that HIS MOTHER WOULD FUCK HER NEPHEW THIRTY MINUTES LATER!”
She laughed again.
‘Gods above and below,’ he thought, ‘how much can a person love another?’
“Agree 100% on Viserion, though Jon after Ygrit should’ve just zipped up his pants and close business. You experience that kind of love once in your screentime. And when you do, Martin kills the counterpart off immediately after the big scene. You know that sadist is gonna kill you off, so just spare him the dirty deeds to write.”
“The dirty deeds are the reasons he is taking so much to finish that freaking book. Also, salty much?"
"You dare calling me salty? It’s been years and you still weep over Robb’s body.”
“Excuse you, it is a very fine body. Have you seen Richard Madden lately? With that kilt at Kit and Rose’s wedding? Fine AF.”
She was now scooting over, moving closer to his face to find a reaction.
“Fine, you’re right. But Darling, you know damn well I am attracted to that man, you can’t just casually throw his name around! That would be like me, saying that Misha has aged like a fine whisky.”
“And where would a lie hide in that sentence?”
“ANYWAY. We were talking of something terrifically important.”
He decided to add a Meaningful Pause to give himself some dramatic effect...
“How can you say you don’t ship Jonhlock romantically?”
‘Honesly I love that woman. She is my other half, I would die for her and with her. My life without her has no meaning.
But if her answer doesn’t please me then so help me God I will suffer through a meaningless life with the strength of my ships.’ His mind said.
“I told you before the 'The Hobbit/Game of Thrones' parenthesis. When I read the books I thought of Sherlock as a madman who cared about Watson profoundly, but mostly cares about himself and his work. Someone who doesn’t dwell into feelings, doesn’t really enjoy sexual times and, truly, a modern-day asexual and aromantic asshole with a kink for unofficial police work. Yes, He and Watson are amazing together, and especially with RDJ and Jude Law I saw the sexual tension, which then I also saw in the BBC’s version. But for me, since I read the books first, Jonhlock will always be the exact relationship shown by House and Wilson. Sorry to disappoint.”
She was so close to him, he could smell her shampoo and count the freckles across her nose. She was staring directly into his soul. Rhys was fully clothed in an old tee and some pants and yet he’d never felt more naked.
“You never disappoint me. As a matter of fact, you never cess to amaze me, Feyre Acheron. You are perfect and beautiful both on the inside as well as on the outside. Here I was, looking for a polite way to kick you out of my apartment after you say you don’t ship one of my OTPs and now, here still I am trying not to be drowned into you and trying not to get lost into your eyes and I love you so fucking much that it physically hurts.”
His inner monologue at the time? ‘Fuck. FUCK. What the fuck did I just say???’
She had managed to fry his whole brain with her smart reasoning and perfect voice and now he had ruined a perfect moment by saying cheesy stuff to a girl that didn’t particularly care for cheese.
That was the end of Rhysand Sphera as we all know and love him.
Cause of death: killed by Feyre Acheron as result of saying something completely idiotic.
Only...
“Do you really mean that?”
She sounded hopeful and scared at the same time. The horrors she had to face in the past came running back to her and were written all over her face. Rhys took her hands in his. They were both trembling.
His mouth had probably never been that dry and yet aching to speak at the same time. He could only nod and pray she reciprocated.
That was the moment of truth.
“Of course I mean it. All of it. Each unsaid sentence and each shared glances. Every time I bring you coffee or a send you a picture of a dog that walks into my shop with its owner even though I’m terrified of them. The dog, not the owner. Even though some owners of dogs are terrifying. I have been in love with you for so long, I forgot how it feels not loving you. I look back at those times when you were not in my life and even back then I knew I was missing something. And when he-who-must-not-be-named showed up and swept you off your feet away from me, I was broken beyond repair. But you came back and made me hope that maybe, maybe all my dreams could become true. But you were hurt and also broken, and you needed time to heal. You still do. I shouldn’t have said anything, but you’re just so fucking amazing that I struggle to not scream ‘I Love You’ every time you breathe. I am utterly in love with you and hopelessly devoted to you. I understand if you still need time to heal or would rather be with someone else. But I said it, and I do not intend on taking it back.”
She was kneeling on the couch, her hands still clutching his, tears streaming down her face.
“Don’t take it back.”
Rhys thought he had heard what he wanted, so he had to ask, “What?”, a dumbstruck disbelieving-his-luck expression plastered on his face.
“I said don’t take it back. I feel the same way. I am utterly in love with you and hopelessly devoted to you too. I thought you hated me after, well, Tamlin. It is pleasant knowing we reciprocate each other’s feelings.”
Feyre laughed again, breaking the spell between them. Only, now the deed was done. Neither of them could hold their emotions in any longer. Feyre leaned in and so did Rhys, and their lips met halfway in a once in a lifetime, epic romance, Full on Princess Bride type of kiss.
After they both ran out of breath, they simply remained connected in every way possible given their awkward position. Foreheads never leaving each other, hands clasped together, lips barely touching. That spell, though, didn’t last for long. Soon they yearned to touch each other’s skin and feel each other’s bodies.
They were never going to have enough of each other.

Jake Gyllenhaal Filmography Ranking
My personal ranking of all Jake Gyllenhaal movies from October Sky onwards with some brief thoughts on each of the movies. Honestly the exact number ranking of these movies is probably not super accurate and could be liable to changes, but I tried my best with the ordering.
Amazing Tier (My favorites)
1. Brokeback Mountain - This is such an emotional and heartbreaking movie. I knew it was going to have a sad ending going into it, but still I was not prepared for how strongly it hit me in the feels. And it’s not just the ending that is sad; you can tell that the love between the two leads is doomed from less than the midpoint of the movie, and it keeps going downhill from there. Overall, I think the movie is a perfect tragic love story. As well, there’s this very subtle and natural feeling to the whole movie that is difficult to describe but works really well. There’s just something truly special about this movie that makes me want to place it as the #1 best of Jake’s movies.
2. Nightcrawler - A highly suspenseful movie with an amazing lead performance by Jake as the sociopathic lead character Lou Bloom. Jake is really a big part of what makes the movie great, as he is such a strong focus of it. Lou acts so off, but it’s just impossible to take your eyes off him, and he is so interesting to watch since you keep wondering what he will do next. The other part of what makes this movie great is the writing and dialogue. There are just so many memorable and great lines, especially for Lou. Along with these factors, the subject matter of the movie, that of the career of selling violent news footage to news stations, is pretty unique, and there are some interesting ideas and themes in the movie as well relating to success and the news media. Overall I really love this movie. If there’s one thing I would say I might not like about the movie, it is the music. It can have an uplifting and hopeful vibe in dark scenes, which lessens the tense mood of some scenes. But I understand that the music was made to reflect Lou’s mood in the scene, which is a very interesting decision in itself and helps add to Lou’s character, since you can notice the contrast between how disturbing the scenarios he is in are and how Lou himself feels in such scenarios. So I at least admire the music for this aspect.
3. Enemy - A tense and psychological movie. I really love the heavy and surreal atmosphere of this movie, added to by the yellowish filter which is present throughout the whole movie as well as the score, which is ominous and used to amazing effect in the movie to enhance the dark mood. Also, I think this movie is both enjoyable when taken in at face value, being about a man who finds that there is a doppelganger of himself, and when looking deeper at what the “real” story is, taking into account the symbolism and various small details placed throughout the movie. It’s an interesting movie to think about due to its openness to interpretation. And lastly, Jake does a great job playing the two lead characters in the movie; despite the characters looking the same, they give off quite a very different vibe.
4. Spider-Man: Far from Home - My favorite MCU movie. I love so many things about this movie: how it deals with the aftermath of the Blip in a light way, how it deals with Peter Parker’s character after Endgame and his desire to just be able to have a normal life, the overall story, the setting being Europe and having this fresh vacation feeling, the fight scenes, and of course Mysterio. Along with this, it has great music (especially Mysterio’s theme) and probably the best mid credits and post credits scenes in the MCU due to their plot relevance. All of the characters are very likeable too, from Peter and all his classmates and teachers to others like Nick Fury and Mysterio, which is important to me since likable characters is one of the most important aspects to me in any kind of story. This movie was such a pleasant surprise after Endgame, which was a great disappointment to me. Also, this movie is special to me because it’s how I discovered the awesomeness of Jake and thus indirectly the reason why I watched all his movies and made this list in the first place. I’m not sure if a future MCU movie can top this for me, but who knows.
 Great Tier
5. Nocturnal Animals - A harsh movie with an interesting structure of having two main stories, with one of the stories being a story within the main story (I will call this story the 2nd story for brevity). I think the 2nd story is where the movie really shines. This story was so tense and much more interesting to follow compared to the main story, and Jake portrayed the emotions of anguish and despair so well in it. It’s also interesting to think about how the 2nd story links with the main story, which gives more depth to the overall story of the movie. I find this and Brokeback Mountain to be the most emotionally harrowing of Jake’s movies, which is definitely a compliment since I admire when a work is able to make me feel so strongly. Also, I have to note that I disliked that there was a random jumpscare in the middle of the movie. It doesn’t lower my opinion of the movie, but I really don’t like jumpscares and did not expect one in this movie.
6. Source Code - A really solid sci-fi movie about Jake’s character repeating through a time loop. It is the only Jake movie to make me cry due to me being a sucker for tragic scenarios involving time loops/parallel worlds. It was just a very engaging movie to watch due to the intriguing premise and the very good execution of said premise.
7. Zodiac - I didn’t know that this movie was based off true events until almost the end of it. So the whole time, I was expecting there to be a conclusive ending when there was no way this would be the case, since the Zodiac killer case to this day hasn’t been solved. Because of this, I felt initially disappointed about this movie from a story perspective, since all the clues from the movie seemed to lead to nothing. This is my biggest “flaw” about the movie (and it’s not really the movie’s fault), but this factor aside I really liked this movie. Jake, RDJ, and Mark Ruffalo are all great in it, and I love murder mysteries so much, so the story had me hooked on this alone. It’s so interesting to watch the characters piece together clues for the case and try to unravel the mystery, as well as seeing how the case progresses (or well, doesn’t progress at times) over the years. Also, this movie just feels really good to watch; as in, the scenes and shots flow together so well. It’s a great movie overall I think.
8. The Sisters Brothers - A western with a kind of laid back feel to it. Also supposedly it is a comedy, but I found it not funny at all. It’s not that I see the movie attempting jokes and find that they don’t work; it’s more like I don’t see the attempt at humor at all, unless maybe it’s kind of a weird dark humor thing. Anyways, I really like this movie, and it’s mostly because I really like the main four characters and their dynamics with each other. Jake does a great job playing his character John Morris and has an accent which is pleasant to my ears, though I was sad that he (as well as Riz Ahmed) wasn’t in the movie more. Even though I was watching the movie for Jake, I found myself liking John C. Reilly’s and Joaquin Phoenix’s characters, the two leads, a lot as well. It’s a movie that shines because of the characters for me.
Very Good Tier
9. Donnie Darko - A pretty unique coming of age story with sci-fi elements. I’m still not sure what to think of this movie, though I think I liked it. Some of my favorite scenes are where Donnie goes off on these rants about what he believes to be the truth. These scenes are amazing to me.
10. Prisoners - I actually find the story of this movie to be not that great. However, what elevates the movie is Hugh Jackman and Jake and their amazing performances. Funnily enough, I found myself siding with Hugh’s character and against Jake’s as they both simultaneously tried to solve the case. Also, this movie is just really exciting and engaging to watch and is maybe one of the easiest to recommend movies on this list due to these factors.
11. The Day After Tomorrow - This isn’t a very deep movie or anything, but it’s a really solid disaster flick in my opinion. I love the visuals, and Jake is such a cutie in this movie, a factor that really elevates it for me.
12. The Good Girl - It looked like a comedy or something from the outside, but actually this is a rather bleak movie. It’s one of the duology of the Jake-being-into-older-married-women movies (and the much better of the two for me). I find this movie pretty underrated.
13. October Sky - It’s an uplifting and inspiring movie, and I love how Homer’s relationship with his father is portrayed here.
14. Okja - I love the stylized vibe of this movie. Jake isn’t in the movie that much, but I really like every time he shows up. He goes full wacky here and it’s fun to watch.
15. Brothers - Tobey Maguire is the real star here. I think he was great in the movie and I could really feel the emotions of his character, especially after he comes back from the war and is in a troubled state of mind.
16. Stronger - A good based on real life movie about a survivor of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Jake does a great job as usual, and I think the emotions of the story came through well.
17. Wildlife - A really simple and subdued story about a family, but I think it works well in the movie. It has a very quiet and natural feeling to it.
Ok Tier
18. Demolition - A quirky feeling movie about a guy trying to deal with the death of his wife. The scene with Jake dancing in the city is my favorite part. Also I thought Jake’s friendship with the kid in the movie was a highlight.
19. Bubble Boy - It's kind of a dumb movie with some maybe offensive humor, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable regardless. Jake is so adorable as the main character Jimmy, and it was fun to follow his journey across the country and seeing all the interesting characters he meets.
20. Proof - I thought it was pretty good, but then the movie ended just when I thought it was starting to ramp up the story to the conclusion. This factor brought the movie down for me.
21. Life - The monster design for this movie was pretty cool, and I liked the ending and the general space horror vibe. However, I didn’t feel much for any of the characters.
22. Everest - It was ok, but I wasn’t really into any of the characters here.
23. Southpaw - I think this movie is very impressive for Jake’s resume, considering how he trained a lot and learned boxing for it. However as a movie itself, I didn’t really feel much for it and felt like it wasn’t doing much special in the story department. I liked some of the parts in the earlier half though.
24. End of Watch - I just wasn’t feeling this movie. Maybe it was the found footage style or something. I feel a bit sad about not digging this movie since I see it is generally one of the more well liked ones in Jake’s filmography.
25. Jarhead - I really don’t like the vulgar tone throughout this movie, but I do like the general story and message. Also the movie looks really good.
Not That Great Tier
26. Velvet Buzzsaw - I love Jake’s character Morf so much as well as the general premise. However the movie itself wasn’t too great: I found most of the characters besides Jake’s to be unlikable, and also the movie felt cheap. It’s very disappointing since the concept for the movie (horror in an art gallery) seems so promising.
27. Prince of Persia - This was the first Jake movie I saw back in the day around the time of its theater release. I have to say I find this to be Jake’s weakest acting performance out of all his movies. For me, good acting is when the actor feels very natural as the character and is somehow magnetizing to watch. But for some reason I did not get a very natural vibe from Jake as Dastan in this movie. I do think he looks very beautiful in this movie though with his long hair, so that’s a big plus. The story of this movie feels pretty cliché and kind of lifeless in a way, but I still liked it alright.
28. Highway - I don’t really like the sleazy tone of this movie. However, I think Jake is very adorable in this movie and has this pure wide-eyed vibe about him (despite him being a drug dealer and sleeping with prostitutes and such).
29. Rendition - I found this movie to be aggressively boring for the most part. There’s this subplot which I was unsure why I should even care about until a reveal near the end of the movie, when it was too late to start caring at all. However Jake in a bloody shirt towards the beginning of the movie makes for some good screencaps and gifs, and I learned about the term extraordinary rendition through searching about it after the movie.
30. Moonlight Mile - I guess this movie might be considered technically good because it tells the story it sets out to do fairly well, but I just found it very boring. There is a part towards the end with Jake’s character being very emotional which I really liked.
31. Lovely & Amazing - It's actually decent, but really not my type of movie. It’s the 2nd of the duology of the Jake-being-into-older-married-women movies.
 Just No Tier
32. Accidental Love - I actually enjoyed the beginning parts of this movie (though what’s with the constant dutch angles in the earlier parts?), and ironically it is around the point of the introduction of Jake’s character where I felt like it started to nosedive. I felt my soul slipping away and my IQ dropping by the end of the movie.
33. Love & Other Drugs – I really, really don’t like this kind of raunchy sex comedy movie. That’s all.

Having a Marvel movie marathon with my grandma
As one does...
Several things have happened
She’s thought that RDJ was Martin Downey Jr this whole time and has now been corrected. Apparently her dislike for him was attached to the wrong Downey family
She thinks that Captain America’s movies are boring and that Winter Soldier is the worst one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Iron man is her favorite male avenger now
She really likes black widow
Nothing pleases her more than to see her in a movie
She did get her confused with Lois Lane in BvS and wondered why she wasn’t as good in that one. She has since been corrected.
She doesn’t like Hulk. At all. He’s too green.
The one movie she did like with him in it was Endgame ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Avengers: Endgame
I’ve been avoiding writing down notes about this, I think, which I guess is a bad sign. When it comes to the Marvel juggernauts, there rarely seems to be anything to say that hasn’t been said or thought by everyone else on the Internet already -- unless everyone else is wrong, but that’s not really the case here. It’s hard to make something like Endgame feel crisply paced and held together, but it did. I’ve spent something like $700 on MCU flicks over the decade, not accounting for inflation, so I took the sentimental fan service bits as my due. I enjoyed it and were I to watch it again I’d enjoy it a second time, but I’m unlikely to do that except on a long flight, or if I decided to marathon the MCU as a project.
Were I to do so, I think I’d find that the centre of gravity, the animating force that extended the edges of the thing beyond the four corners of the screen and made it feel like fandom, was after all Tony Stark. Cap, to a lesser extent, because from script to script Cap’s characterization hasn’t always lined up at the edges, but Iron Man’s never struck a false note I can remember -- RDJ made sure of it. It’s a helluva Work over ten years, for an actor, even though they don’t hand out Academy Awards on a retrospective basis for embodying a character in the popular imagination such that you’ll always be that character, forever. Will I keep watching phase 4 or the Disney TV shows or whatever? Most likely. Will it feel like fandom? I doubt it. Tony’s really the only MCU character who’s had an arc that’s nuanced and deep and sustained start to end; which made it easy to see, anyway, where it was headed; I would argue since Age of Ultron. It would be ideal if all the characters did, but the nature of corporate projects is that there’s no way to maintain continuity unless you’ve always got the same boss(es) at the helm, and other than Feige’s Marvel, the studios can’t even manage timeline or plot over multiple movies, let alone characterization. They just soft-reboot and start over, like they do in the comics.
Having said that, the main fandom complaint has been that Infinity War/Endgame bollocksed up Steve’s ending, and never really knew what to do with Bucky to its satisfaction. To be honest, I’ve never thought the ideal of Steve/Bucky resided in the films, or that they were going to get there in the end: MCU Bucky is a creation of the Russos and Markus-McFeely, but fandom drew down the comics immediately such that fic Bucky was more interesting before Winter Soldier even came out. (This was also extremely true of, say, Hawkeye.) So as far as I’m concerned, Steve’s ending just reinforced two big writing rules I learnt the hard way from media fandom: 1) never use time travel to create a happy ending that erases a character’s on-screen growth (thanks, Moffat!), and 2) never write a happy ending that denies all future ambiguity or possibility of growth (thanks, JK!). That is... for anyone reading who’s wrapping up a long beloved series and willing to take my writing advice. XD;
