I had a huge bite of the nesting bug (for majority of my pregnancy)!
It was such an interesting and special time; to feel so motherly, & our baby hasn’t even graced our presence yet 💕
I managed to make a little series of some of the process along the way.

I think Meghan’s frustrated because her level has some pretty popular people already. It’s crowded. To be honest I think the Gaines have a large % followed by a few other target brands. She’d rather be a target brand not a tjmaxx because tjmaxx buys left over inventory that doesn’t sell. Target is still affordable and I think those in her circle are far more willingly to say they go to target than Walmart to tjmaxx. That’s what bothers her.
I also don’t think she was prepared to launch when she did. It was a quick rash reaction that felt more like turning lover an “I’m open for business sign” than anything else. Her ego got the best of her .
Yep, that's the other pitfall of being so focused on immediate gratification: you have beer goggles on. You don't see your competitors for who they really are - you only see what they have that you don't or their flaws that you think you can do better.
If Meghan really cared about Roop, she'd have paid attention to the market research that her partners (and yes, she has partners, even if no one will admit it) and WME did. That market research would have told her exactly who her competitors are, that she has one shot to get this right, and precisely what shot to take and when to take it.
And let's be honest. Her competitors aren't Gwyneth Paltrow (Goop), Reese Witherspoon (Kohls), and Martha Stewart (Macys, Penneys, and Amazon). They aren't even the Gaines/Magnolia (Target), Pioneer Woman (Walmart), and Rae Dunn (TJ Maxx/HomeGoods).
Her competitors are all the other socialites out there launching their own wellness and lifestyle brands. Bravolebrities. Tiktokers. Instagram influencers. People who have such a niche fanbase from 5 minutes in the spotlight with print-on-demand merch. In effect, personality-driven brands that lack substance.
And those brands don't usually do well, because they always overshoot their market and target the wrong audience. There's nothing wrong with being a TJX brand or a department store brand or a "Middle America" brand. Plenty of people have made really good fortunes and livings from it, but only because they were realistic and clear about their expectations and knew it would take time to get the empire they wanted.
And since anon mentioned The Gaines, I have a feeling that's who Meghan intends to come after. They're in Texas (where the Sussexes have been spending time). Tall, leggy, thick-bouncy-dark brown/black hair-for-days, biracial homemaker guru wife with a doofus goofy ginger husband. Their brand (Magnolia Home) is a kind of rustic, vintage, comfort memory that ARO/Roop's video mimicked. They've got that kind of ordinary everyday Americanness that (kind of) competes with William and Kate's kind of ordinary everyday Britishness that Meghan couldn't break.
But here's the thing about Chip and Joanna. They didn't just pop up out of nowhere. I know it feels like they did, but they didn't. They put 10 years of blood and sweat equity into the Waco (Texas) home construction and design world before HGTV even knew that they existed. What has Meghan done that's even comparable? Sure, she got her own doofus ginger but that's it. That's where the comparisons end. And honestly there's no comparison between Chip and Harry either, because Chip comes out ahead by a million points by just being able to replace his own burnt-out lightbulb.

So after a recent Big Move™️, I’ve finally gotten my household goods delivered to my new home. WOOT WOOT.
And as I pulled out some baking/muffin pans, I thought
Damn. I’d like to think I’d be rough and tough and a “don’t look at me wrong or I’ll punt your ass over a high-rise” sort of girl boss in the Arcane world.
But realistically all I want is to bake some treats for Sev and Ran. Make sure they’re eating good. Dust off and adjust their collar before they head out on a mission/task or to a meeting or whatever. Pack them little snacks or lunchboxes. Pretend to not be fussy over them since I also have my own work but actually unintentionally show ✨affection✨. Give them a goodbye kith. Be a lil Susie-homemaker in denial.
Also this moonshine is kind of hitting hard send help
OMG congrats on the big move! I still remember my first big move! Exciting (and exhausting)! Hopefully you're past the exhausting part and slipping into chill mode.
Hard same on thinking I'd be a kick ass girl boss in Arcane but really just wanna be Sev and Ran's little Honey homemaker. 🤓
Some silly, cute, fluffy thoughts inspired by this below the cut. SFW believe it or not.
Tumblr media
Fussing over them and packing them lil snacks and lunches sounds like a dream! 🤩 Gosh, just imagine packing them both a little paper sack lunch for the first time. They just give you a look like "Seriously? What am I, 8?" Meanwhile you're just smiling at them adoringly.
Maybe they both sit with the rest of Silco's cronies come lunch time. They're already feeling ridiculous carrying they're matching paper sack lunches, but they're just assuming it's gonna be some lame old bologna sandwiches and stale leftover chips from the last Jericho's dinner.
They simultaneously open their bags to pull out not just any old sandwich, rather it's the freshest looking bread they've ever seen, holding equally fresh greens, meats, and cheeses. And best worst of all, you'd used cookie cutters to cut them into heart shapes. Sevika and Ran exchange glances, brows raised. They both set the sandwiches down, behind their bags, hoping to hide them from the rest of the gang, only to pull out more incriminating lunchables. Several slices of pineapple, cut into disgustingly cute little stars. Then comes the veggies, cause of course you made sure their lunches were a complete balance of nutrition. Chubby little baby carrots arranged on a thick homemade hummus in a flower design. One little cherry tomato decorates the center.
The coup de grâce to their humiliation? Custom, tiny cupcakes decorated in bright pink, red, and purple icing and bedazzled with heart shaped sprinkles of the same colors.
Another exchange of glances, cheeks flushed, then eyes averted downward. Neither dare make eye contact with anyone else at the table. Not that any of them would dare to even so much as snicker at Silco's second in command or top assassin. Not if they valued their life.
So Sevika and Ran consume their entirely too cute lunch in silence. It's an uncomfortable one, but deep down, beneath those hard exteriors, their hearts swell with pride and joy. They have someone like you- who cares so much- to so lovingly select, create, and craft the sweetest of lunches. And just for them. ♥️
Tumblr media
Sending help ASAP! (It's just me in a box with holes so I can 'help' you finish off that moonshine)
Also, every time you send me something ISTG I get such a strong itch to write my poly Sev x Reader x Ran fic. I will some day. (Still anxiously patiently waiting for your writing too! <3)

Tips for Maximizing the Use of Clubs in The Sims 4
Greetings everyone,
If you've played The Sims 4, you're likely aware that Get Together is one of the best expansion packs ever released for the game! It adds new dynamics to your gameplay and social clubs that can be used to improve your sims' lives. In this post, I'll share my favorite ways to use social clubs in The Sims 4 to help you get the most out of them.
It may be a lengthy read, so proceed at your own discretion.
Using social clubs to control sims' autonomy
One of the most significant advantages of social clubs is the ability to control your sims' behavior. Club activities override individual sims' autonomous actions, allowing you to direct their actions in a more productive manner. You could establish a private club for your household and use it to make your sims do chores, study, have fun, or anything else that comes to mind. You can alter club activities at any time as long as you are the club leader.
Creating your own lore through social circles
Friendships and relationships are easy to establish in The Sims 4, but they are often shallow and meaningless. It's more realistic for sims to be friends with others who share their interests or hobbies. By bringing these sims together in social clubs, you can create your own lore and stories.
In addition, you can cause drama and rivalries between different clubs by encouraging mean interactions or by banning friendly interactions with selected ones. Trust me, it brings so much life to your gameplay!
Using social clubs to explore new spaces
In The Sims 4, you can easily stay on your home lot and self-sustain indefinitely, making the game feel isolated and limited. By using social clubs, you can direct your sims to hang out at designated lots or locations, allowing them to explore the world outside their home.
Here are a few examples of social that I use in my game, based on different interests and social circles:
Interest-based Clubs
Adventure Associates: Join our nature-loving social club! We hike, fish, climb, ski, and snowboard. Connect with like-minded individuals and explore the great outdoors. (Requirements: Traits like Adventurous, Loves Outdoors, and skills such as fishing, skiing, rock climbing, etc.)
Budding Pals: Budding Pals is a gardening club for nature enthusiasts to learn plant care through sustainable practices. From novice to expert, join us in cultivating a beautiful and sustainable community garden. (Requirements: Traits like Green Fiend, Loves Outdoors, Animal Lover, Recycle Disciple, and skills such as flower-arranging and gardening)
Covalent Bonds: Not intimidated by rocket science? Think you could solve the Unsolvable Hetu Hypothesis if only you had enough moral support? Want to share electron pairs to create a stable balance of attractive and repulsive forces? Join the Covalent Bonds! (Requirements: Traits like genius, geek, overachiever, and skills such as rocket science, logic, robotics, etc.)
Desperate Homemakers: Desperate Homemakers is an inclusive group of close-knit stay-at-home folks inspired by "Desperate Housewives". They gather to gossip, play cards, and enjoy a bottle of chardonnay every now and then. (Requirements: Unemployed Sims)
Digital Divergence: Digital Divergence is a social club for gamers, coders, and streamers. Meet like-minded people, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. Join us for LAN parties, coding competitions, and streaming workshops! (Requirements: Traits like Geek, Creative, Socially Awkward, and skills such as programming, video gaming, media production, photography)
Epicurean Elites: A circle of select foodies who appreciate fine dining and culinary experiences. Members gather for exclusive events and tastings, exploring new flavors, techniques, and cuisines. (Requirements: Traits like Foodie, Snob, and skills such as Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, Baking, Mixology)
Grizzly Gang: Grizzly Gang: the ultimate club for alpha sports enthusiasts who push limits, crush goals, and dominate fields. Join like-minded beasts to unleash your inner grizzly and reach your full potential! (Requirements: Traits like Active, Bro, High-maintenance, Self-assured, Overachiever, Ambitious, and skills such as Fitness, Snowboarding, Rock Climbing)
Major Chords: Major ‘cause we’re important. Chords ‘cause we sound together. Don’t you want to sound together with us? (Requirements: Traits like Music Lover, Creative, Self-centered, Snob, and skills such as Piano, Violin, Singing, etc.)
Readaholics Anonymous: Are you a seasoned bibliophile? An aspiring writer? Grab your book and join us for lively discussions and plenty of page-turning fun! Our welcoming club offers a warm community of like-minded readers! (Requirements: Traits like Bookworm, Geek, Socially Awkward, and skills such as Research and Debate, Writing)
Tapestry Posse: Tapestry Posse is a social club that brings together individuals who share a passion for arts and crafts such as painting, knitting, cross-stitching, and candle-making. It's a friendly and relaxed community for artists and hobbies alike. (Requirements: Traits like Creative, Art Lover, Snob, and skills such as Painting, Cross-stitching, Knitting, Fabrication, etc.)
The High Society™ is a secretive society of the world's most influential people, from politicians to celebrities. Its true purpose is unknown, but membership is the ultimate status symbol among the elite. (Requirements: Wealth (Rich), Career: Law, Politician, Business, Actor, Entertainer, Military, Detective, Sciencist, Secret Agent, Criminal, and traits like Self-assured, Perfectionist, Ambitious, Snob, etc.)
In order to foster a sense of community and belonging, I suggest adding the 'Insider' trait as a requirement for membership in all clubs. Sims with the 'Insider' trait are naturally drawn to social groups and are more likely to participate in various club activities, ultimately enhancing the overall experience for all members.
Age-based Clubs
Lil' Wabbits: Lil' Wabbits is a playful and imaginative children's social club, where kids can make new friends and have fun with various activities. From dress-up to play pretend, it's all about having a great time in a safe and supportive environment. (Requirements: Age - Child)
Seasoned Seniors: Seasoned Seniors is a social club for elderly folks looking for fun and connection. Enjoy games, outings, and social events in a supportive environment. (Requirements: Age - Elder)
Youthopia: Youthopia is a social club for teenagers that offers fun activities and events to promote friendships and a sense of community. Youthopia is the perfect group for teens to hang out with and have a good time. (Requirements: Age - Teen)
Occult-themed Clubs
Aristoclaws: The Aristoclaws are a pack of wealthy and influential werewolves who balance their strength and ferocity with skilled diplomacy. They defend their territory with sharp claws and fierce howls, but also rely on their ability to negotiate and form alliances. (Requirements: Wealth (Rich), Werewolf (Trait))
Council of The Forgotten: The Council of Eternal Night governs all vampires globally from Forgotten Hollow. This oldest organization holds high esteem, guiding its members to reach their true power and potential. Register your household to connect with fellow vampires. (Requirements: Vampire (Trait))
Coven of the Dusk: Led by an enigmatic teen warlock, this coven follows ancient beliefs and practices green and dark magic for protection. Teenage witches gather to perform divination rituals, brew potions, cast spells, practice herbalism, and celebrate nature. (Requirements: Age - Teen, Spellcaster (Trait))
Faelwyn Union: The Faelwyn Union unites elves to promote peace and protect their rights. They preserve nature, known for their elven lore knowledge. Strong scholars with mutual respect for other races. (Requirements: Spellcaster (in my game, my elves are Spellcasters))
Glimmerbrook Magistrate: The Glimmerbrook Magistrate governs spellcasters, ensuring responsible magic use. Experienced members oversee training, investigate disputes, and prevent misuse. Respected authority in the magical community. (Requirements: Spellcaster (Trait)) Ivanovich House: Led by patriarch Dmitry, Ivanovich House is a vampire clan of northeastern heritage. They keep to themselves, wary of outsiders, and are known for their refined taste and skillful manipulation of those around them.
(Requirements: Vampire (Trait), Vampire Knowledge Skill)
Nzarogg Clan: The Nzarogg Clan, descendants of Windenburg's merfolks, now reside in Sulani. Adapting to their new environment, they retain their culture and traditions. They have no hesitation in putting anyone who opposes them in their place. (Requirements: Mermaid (Trait))
Steelfangs: The Steelfangs are a werewolf pack exclusively for affluent teenagers. With power, wealth, and influence, they rule their territory with sharp claws and a howl that strikes fear into their rivals. (Requirements: Age - Teen, Werewolf (Trait))
Tideglow Tribe: Native to Sulani, this conservative merfolk community sees newcomers as potential threats. Their strength and agility make them formidable defenders of their territory, and outsiders are only welcome if they earn the tribe's trust. (Requirements: Mermaid (Trait))
Additionally, you can make more clubs for your Sims' high school friends, university friends like "Foxbury Alumni," and organize annual events and gatherings to reminisce on old times and friendships.
I hope these examples gave you some inspiration to start your own social clubs and use them to their full potential in The Sims 4. Remember, social clubs are a great way to add depth and variety to your gameplay, and they can help you create unique stories and characters in your game.

I just found the Dark!Shepherds AU and it got me curious. You likened them to the Justice League a bunch, so what superheroes would the ROs be? It doesn’t have to be DC either, Marvel works too.
Hi there, the #superhero tag also has some answers that are analogous to this (like what would be their favorite superheroes would be in a modern AU or what a literal #superhero AU would look like with them as the Justice League), but if you're talking about which literal real-life DC/Marvel superheroes they'd be or what roles they'd fill in their version of the Justice League, I think:
Blade: realistically he's probably Batman, but without the remorse over killing... so maybe Cassandra Cain or Damien Wayne without being a little kid?? Let's just go with Batman (he can share the role with Riel down below) - paranoid and tetchy, hyper-vigilant, keeps to the shadows, does a lot of his work in secret, trained by the League of Shadows before turning against them if we're putting in Batman Begins lore, etc.
Trouble: Superman or Captain America (idealistic, good-hearted, patriotic, etc., the "face" or mascot of the League)
Tallys: Vixen, keeps to herself but definitely still a member of the League, cares more about helping the world/nature than her social dynamics with the other heroes. Could also see her being Huntress (Helena Bertinelli JLU version) for her desire for revenge and her rivalry with Black Canary (aka Lavinet) below
Shery: Oracle or Red Tornado (Young Justice version); takes on a more secondary, overseer role or even the role of the homemaker
Riel: Batman (the tactician, world's greatest detective, would always be prepared to bring down the others if they became too powerful/corrupt, would keep files on their strengths and weaknesses, etc.). Ironman, of course, would also be a very fitting analogue for him: billionaire genius inventor who uses tech to supplement his lack of natural powers
Chase: I feel like most of the superheroes are most analogous to him are female LOL I feel like Catwoman (thief, antihero, oftentimes aligns herself with the good guys--especially recently) is the closest idea I have, but I'm open to hearing others!
Red: Dr. Fate (magic-user who dabbled with things he shouldn't have) or Dr. Strange? (idk anything about him to be honest, my knowledge heavily skews DC, but if the vibe fits)
Ayla: Hawkgirl (JLU version): distrustful of outsiders, has her own secrets and motivations, fiery but a powerful hero who comes from another land (or, more accurately, another planet)
Briony: Starfire--bubbly, a bit ditzy, extremely passionate and emotional, wears her heart on her sleeve, "foreigner" who has to learn (or relearn) the ways of the Earthlings and acclimate fast
Lavinet: Black Canary (Dinah Lance)--trained by a mentor to rival Wonder Woman in combat prowess despite being a mostly normal human, joined the League against parental protest and permission, but also has strong social and mediation skills/emotional intelligence (Young Justice version)
Halek: John Constantine? I don't even remember if he's a part of the League lol but, you know, exorcist, chain smoker, kind of disenfranchised... it fits in my head...
Mimir: Raven (Teen Titans version)--I imagine their voices being very similar, too!

It states that in every classic romantic relationship, one party is the reacher, the other the settler. IYO which one do you think is the reacher and settler? (Mello and Near). You need to pick one, can't say they are equal xD
ooh what an interesting question!! this is really tough to answer because i do honestly think they are equal, but i suppose i will outline exactly what i think each of them brings to the table, and then i'll try to assign them roles after i've written it all out.
since Near has trouble taking care of himself, Mello would be able to look after him (and i absolutely think he'd insist on doing this himself, even if they have more than enough money to pay a housekeeper - partly because bringing a third party into their lives is extremely dangerous, partly because he hates asking other people for help, and he likes the idea of being needed). he'd be there to keep Near company so he isn't alone all the time, and would also bring some degree of excitement to Near's life, which i think is one thing Near would really appreciate. without Mello, Near's routine would pretty much consist of working, eating, bathing and sleeping, and i tend to imagine that most cases after Kira's death would be fairly tedious in comparison. having Mello around keeps things interesting. he's one of the few people in the world who can challenge Near intellectually, and i think he's unpredictable in a way that Near would find thrilling.
Near meets Mello's emotional needs, being a calm voice of reason for him and helping to keep him somewhat sane. Mello is a very insecure person and this is the basis for all of his primary character flaws. being desired by someone would be good for his ego as is, but being desired by Near i think would be the absolute best-case scenario. Near is the reason why Mello feels so bad about himself in the first place, and of everyone in his life, Near's opinion about him matters most. having Near show interest in him and treat him like an equal would do wonders for his self-esteem. i suppose if you go by the extremely traditional breadwinner x homemaker relationship model then you could also say Near has a lot to offer in terms of wealth, although i personally think they both have a right to L's fortune, since they were both technically chosen (and i think Near would say the same).
ultimately, if i really had to pick, i would probably say Near is the settler and Mello is the reacher, because i genuinely believe that in canon, Mello couldn't possibly be as fulfilled in a relationship with anyone else. Near could, theoretically, find someone who can take care of him, keep him company, and match his intelligence on some level, even if it wouldn't quite be the same. Mello, on the other hand, has essentially based his entire life and personality around Near, and thus i don't think there's a way for him to ever fully resolve his insecurities without a relationship with Near. he could potentially benefit from a friendship or a working relationship, but i think a romantic relationship best suits his needs because of the element of being desired, and the knowledge that Near wants him around constantly.
i do definitely believe that Mello thinks he's the reacher, and that has a huge influence on his behaviour in their relationship. i think he'd struggle a lot with feeling unworthy of Near, and would try to go above and beyond for him to prove himself - though i don't imagine he'd admit it if Near were to point it out. but realistically i think there's a good balance in the relationship, and they would both get something out of it that they couldn't get from anyone else.
thank you for the ask! :-)

Idk if you were joking but tbh I would love to hear your controversial hc's if you're comfortable sharing them because I have some myself
Tumblr media
LMAO well okay, though I might disappoint you guys.
Gaz and Rudy are the only guys who want kids and would probably be any good at fatherhood.
Price thinks he might have enjoyed being a dad, but the truth is he’s too married to his work to really try. He thinks about that dream fondly, but he’s put it away now.
Soap wanted kids for a while, but after a few years in the service he decided he was less anxious about parenting if he just settled for being an uncle to his siblings’ kids.
Alejandro’s first love will always be Las Almas, and every kid in that city is his kid. He doesn’t need to make more.
And Ghost is deeply, deeply terrified of repeating the sins of his own father, so kids are absolutely off the table.
Gaz, Soap, and Ghost are turned off by the idea of a stay at home partner. They’re dedicated to their careers and can really only respect a partner who is similarly ambitious. They don’t need a partner in the service, however—just someone who is as passionate about their vocation as they are about theirs.
But Rudy, Alejandro, and Price—they’re a little more traditional, so a homemaking spouse would suit them just as well as a working one.
None, and I do mean NONE, of these characters are into piss or scat. Full stop. End of headcanon.
Only Soap is willing to try knifeplay, and very lightly. NONE of them are into gunplay. Keeping their job separate from their bedroom activities is essential to being able to compartmentalize. (Graves is probably into gunplay.)
Valeria and Alejandro were never an item like people seem to think they were. I think they connected via their shared love for Las Almas, and the fury between them now is borne of their very different opinions about how to make their home better.
Valeria is a lesbian, and swings masculine-of-center.
Probably not controversial, but I do interpret all of the men as bi- or pansexual. Realistic? No. But I want to live in a world with more multisexual men.
Probably not as controversial as one might expect, but a lot of people would disagree with me on a lot of counts because fandom these days venerates self-gratification over anything else. So characters today are mostly vehicles for one’s personal desires in a partner. I don’t subscribe to that school of thought, though—I prefer, in fanon, characters that feel like canon versions of themselves.
Of course, individual interpretation draws from every person’s unique life experience and personal context. I’m not suggesting that another person’s opinion about a character is blind heresy to my own word of god—but I do get to have my opinion, and I do get to be amused when I see something I find absolutely ridiculous.

For the 4 hcs thing gimme your Nao hcs I'm curious
realistic: she's quite clumsy, often dropping things or tripping over her own feet when not paying attention (it's pretty much confirmed in the artbook that she can be a bit spacey when not wearing her trusty apron!)
while it may not be realistic it is hilarious: she's warrior cats fan I've said it before I'll say it again
heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends: I draw nao in a lot of knitwear right? well I think that mishima knits and gives things he's made as gifts! so I think that whenever nao is nervous, stressed or upset, she holds onto the sleeves or the hem of her sweater.. it reminds her that it's made from a place of care and there'll always be someone there reassure her! always... right?
unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own: this is sorta an extension of canon... but I think it'd be fun if she kept up the Mr [Occupation] habit for ppl other than keiji, so kai = mister homemaker when this comes to shin she keeps trying to think of more polite ways to call him mr jobhopper but. fails miserably ("Hi there mr convenience store!" "miss Nao please just call me a slur")

More Oli questions! Dude's got me in a chokehold and as unhinged as an ensemble stars fan in the comments section on their wiki!
- Is he big on using/receiving nicknames?
- Since I'm obsessed with Rapeshire(DOL)... What kind of harasser would be Oli? Or would he be like that stranger with exhibitionist notes, but Oli would have different tasks, maybe doing something in front of the camera?
- Does he... Like... Have plushies? Like Grim..?
- Is he big on sharing? Like Darling has finished eating their food, but there are some leftovers. Would Oli jump in to use the same fork/spoon his Darling used to finish up Darling's food?
- Is he superstitious? Witchy stuff? Sacrificing a cookie in the same of Satan and his Darling?
- Is he a talented cook. Actually, is he good at housework/homemaking?
- Oli gets a chance to posses Darling's body for a day. What does he do? Masturbate with the body all day? Lmao. Wouldn't be surprised...
- Would he lie to impress his Darling? How far would the lies go? What's his reaction when he's found out but Darling acts like they knew from the begging because Oli is so pathetic?
- Any unusual/nasty habits?
- Would Oli resort to blackmailing his Darling to get them to date him?
- Is he a greasy man? Or is he pretty neat and hygienic?
- How big is his dick? What about stamina?
- Is there anyone Oli would love to punch in the face without any consequences?
- Oli's reaction to being stalked instead?
- How does Oli feel about excessive eye contact?
Beep beep, here's a question for you:
Why is sandwich meat round when bread is square?
YAY OLI TIME
he looooves nicknames. if you call him a petname of any sort he will instantly melt. and he always calls you stuff like angel/love/darling anything you like. he is a simp
in dol he would be a lot like kylar. always stalking and watching. with a little more confidence he would probably take creepshots and use them to blackmail you. also would be an annoyingly persistent customer of yours at the strip club/brothel. don't ask where he gets all that money from
not to like, babygirlify every single character i come into contact with, but i think oli has a few plushies. especially if you gave him one, he would treasure that. but he has a few that he snuggles with (he sprayed them with your perfume/cologne and put some clothes of yours he stole on them)
ohhh yeah he shares food with you. he would DIE for the chance to put his mouth on the same utensils as you. he also would eagerly offer you his food if you finished yours and were still hungry.
oli considers himself something of a realist but he is entirely wrong about that. mf has little self-awareness. superstitions make him anxious so even though he says he doesn't believe in them he avoids things like walking under ladders and such.
he wishes he was a good cook. he wants to be your perfect househusband. unfortunately he is a cringefail babygirl in everything he does so he fuckign burns water and tries to keep a clean house but accidentally mixes bleach and ammonia. siiigh but he tries though
okay. of course if he possessed his darling for a day he would masturbate just to know what it was like for you. he would stare in the mirror for so long memorizing every inch of your body up close and also take a lot of photos for his personal folder when he returns to his own body.he would do so many weird things...lick your body...
yeah, he would lie. he wants his darling to be impressed by him but there's really not much to be impressed by. he would lie as much as he could and would probably cry if darling found out. but he is sooo pathetic that it's actually kinda cute. like okay you little worm you just wanted to seem cool. i forgive you
*inhales deeply* nasty habits you say? other than his nightly routine of watching you via your webcam?? yes. absolutely. he has occasionally broken into your house and taken a few random things that he does weird stuff with. collects everything from used napkins and straws to bits of your hair. he's just a fucking creep. he's gross.
i think, if there was a chance for oli to gain more confidence, he certainly would blackmail his darling to go out with him. or maybe not confidence, just desperation lol. but he knows pretty much everything about you, and hacks into your computer all the time, so he could easily figure something out to blackmail with.
surprisingly, he's pretty hygienic. he's shit at taking care of his house but he likes himself to be tidy and smell good. he's already so fucking weird and everyone KNOWS that he's so fuckign weird that he doesn't want to give anyone more ammo. so he keeps himself neatly groomed. aren't you impressed by him?
oh baby been WAITING for someone to ask about this freak's dick. i think it isn't MASSIVE or anything but it is girthy as hell. and because he's a total loser virgin, he has pretty good stamina from all the jerking off he does. he can control his orgasms fairly easily. the first few times you have sex, he will cum very quickly because he's just so happy! but he's ready for another round just as fast.
of course. he would love to punch anyone who hurt you in the face. also, his coworkers. they're jerks.
he would be sosososo happy if you stalked him. like that would be his dream. you like him that much?? how special!! he has a very strange view of love...
it depends on the context. excessive eye contact with anyone else? weird. cringe. get it away from him. you staring him deeply in the eyes? most romantic thing he's ever experienced. he will never look away
why the fuck IS sandwich meat round. well. i guess like. salami and bologna are round right? but not all lunch meat is. like stuff you get from the deli sometimes. well i guess salami is round because it's like a sausage right? why am i taking this question so seriously???

I don't normally make this kind of "review" so late, usually I write my thoughts very early, when a new story gets published and there's only a few episodes (which didn't happen with Theodora). However, I managed to take advantage of the event and basically binged the entire book. I wouldn't have made this review if I didn't genuinely need to write my opinions on this (like my head might've exploded if I didn't).
!!Spoilers ahead!! and possibly tw? Nothing is too explicit
Because Theodora is, at the moment, only 4 episodes away from the end, I didn't go into the story blind. I knew about almost all the wow moments... and that didn't ruin the experience in the slightest.
I could gush about the author's writing forever, I was beyond impressed with... everything really, the atmosphere, the dialogue, the characters, the story, the descriptions, the MC's introspection, I can't find one thing to complain about when it comes to the style of writing and expressing. It never felt like serious matters were described too superficially, without giving sufficient attention, or too pretentiously, where it's just so artificial to the point of boredom; it stayed just on the line between too little and too much, keeping the reader entertained without feeding them gallons of information.
Maybe the season 3 finale will blow my mind, but honestly season 1 just set the bar so high everything after that just felt like "ok, moving on". This isn't at all an insult to the other two seasons, quite the opposite, I liked how season 2 gave wayyyy more attention to the MC and really dived into her head, because it makes sense. Season 1 takes a very mortal and human Theodora into unprecedented violence and suffering, especially for a woman whose previous concerns were homemaker articles. People are in pain and reality isn't safe. The fate of the burlesque dancers and Madame's unfinished business are serious problems (prostitution, abuse, drugs, abandonment), and very important at that moment, but they are fragments of other people's lives, the MC is mostly an observer, it can't even come close to the trauma of season 1. The story is coming to an end, but it's a handful of people against the villain, not innocent civilians resorting to suicide to remain on their land, coercion on top of coercion, lynching and so on. Season 1 instills terror, it shows not only the extreme fragility of human lives, how easy everything can be taken from you, but also human cruelty and sadism. Neumann isn't a supernatural creature, he's very much human and very much terrifying. I liked how there seemed to be no justice for the bad guys in season 1 and 2, it felt more realistic especially because it is unfair.
I loved how the characters were never put in the background even if they weren't the MCs LI. Being allowed to still have friendships while in a relationship and invest in those friendships is amazing. All the characters felt like humans with real lives that don't revolve around the MC, they didn't disappear if Theodora wasn't into them and their lives didn't start with her. Creating such a strong sense of family in every season with a new cast is also appreciated; even if it seems like a short time the pacing never felt rushed (it is a bit wonky in the last season but not enough to be a problem for me).
The LIs are just great. None of them really lacked anything, everything I said above applies to all of them. I didn't mind at all the "oh shit here we go again" because it perfectly showed the fact that yes, the MC is immortal and everyone around her will die, over and over again. This is where John falls into the soulmate trope thing. I casually romanced him and while I would've liked to be with him in the last season, it wasn't my fault he was in the same season with Charlotte. Regardless, I liked the "demon is soft for human, they are bffs" and John giving literally everything for Theodora with no expectations is my new addiction (though I do want to romance him properly after the story is finished). I could read whole episodes of just their interactions, not even interesting ones, like training or yearning for each other, just... having breakfast and discussing the news, or walking in the park like an old couple.
Now, the MC my beloved
From a young, inexperienced but very determined journalist who wants to make the world proud and her name known to a sad, self destructive and lonely woman, forced to live her life without end, Theodora's mind is really entertaining. Every time she got into her own head, every emotion or lack of emotion, every breakdown, it was all so authentic, I felt what she was feeling having never been in those situations myself. A character drowning in solitude and despair who occasionally sees the light just to be plunged over and over again in the dark and still go on with her life (I mean there's no choice but still).
I liked that she never fell into the not-like-other-girls mess, there was always a sense of solidarity between her and other women, more or less similar to her, without it being exploited to ridiculous levels. She wasn't above anyone but also didn't force camaraderie.
Tbh I would've been fine having like 7 more seasons of Theodora just... living her life in different places while spiralling into madness and alcoholism; that's how good she is. I think overall the characters in this book really tie everything together, like they're the cherry on top but also the frosting and main flavour of the cake.
I devoured this story, I don't even care if the ending won't be satisfactory, the first two season were just mind-blowing. I don't even know what else is there to be said, everything is so good, from the visuals, the music and noises, the CGs, to the writing itself.
For a first story, Arina set huge expectations for her next works.

misa! 🖤
MISA + Realistic Headcanon: she often supports Light financially whenever they move in together and he's a busy student, but she doesn't do much of anything homemaker-ish around the house
MISA + Not Necessarily Realistic, but Hilarious Headcanon: she found Hideki Ryuga very hot because he was kind of like a dumber, nicer celebrity version of Light, so she treated him extra gruffly and rudely on the set of their film, because she didn't want to be tempted into any disloyalty to Light
MISA + Heartcrushing Headcanon: she left the pet bird Light bought for her to Sayu in her will
MISA + Disregarding Canon Headcanon: I don't think she's a certifiable genius or anything, but I DO think she's actually quite clever in certain ways that the other characters simply don't recognize or value as a type of intelligence (like her charisma with her fans, her artistic skills, her ability to brand herself and create an appealing personal aesthetic, and her knack for getting close to and making herself both useful and threatening to Light)

there's this tiktok going around on twitter that seems to have really lit up the "i need to share this to make fun of it" center in people's brains, and it's a supercut of this woman wearing vintage clothing and cooking/cleaning that says "the world continues to condemn tradwives, but i'll keep living my truth"
and i always get a bit frustrated when people dogpile stuff like this and don't think about it for 2 seconds.
it reminds me a lot of this thing that would happen periodically the 2014-2016 era of this website, where someone would post something like "i get so tired of being told that it's bad or wrong to be straight/white/a man" and it would just be ripped to shreds with comments that, in essence, said "what are you talking about?" though typically the language was a lot meaner than that.
comments like these aren't directed at, like, society at whole. what they're speaking to is that this is a person who spends a lot of time online and they feel picked on. which means they're the type of person who is going to observe this and feel vindicated in feeling the way they do. obviously in meatspace, no one is going to give you trouble for being a homemaker, or straight, or any of those things, unless you're being really weird or antagonistic. but the people who say things like this have mostly clocked out.
none of this is to, like, defend them. if you're at the point where vague tradwife jokes on tiktok are making you feel personally attacked, i don't know, you need to put your phone down and walk your dog or something.
but at the same time, i just kind of feel like it's a bad idea to join the pile-on with stuff like this. you don't really get anything out of it, there doesn't seem to be anything to be collectively gained from, and the only outcome this could realistically produce is making that person defensive over something that's ultimately stupid, sure, but harmless. pile-ons make it personal. it isn't just abstract neurosis anymore.
i think we just all need to get a bit better at ignoring things tbh

I somehow hurt worse today than I did yesterday. But today at least it feels like it's mostly muscle pain- likely from having to work so hard to carry my own body around yesterday due to my joint issues flaring up because of the storm. Plus, I didn't do any of my stretches or take a bath yesterday, which I really should've done honestly. And so that's probably not helping the matter any.
Not loving this whole explosive pain nonsense from the Fibro flare, though. My Husband's youngest Cat (Echo) was being adorable and bapping at the side of my thigh for pets while I was getting my meds this morning, and all the tiny little microabrasions from her claws are screaming and on fire still, 2 hours later. I can't even peel more than a few Pistachios because the shells hurt my fingertips too badly. It's ridiculous.
There's mountains of housework just piling up still. My brain is screaming at me to do work. But I know if I get up and do anything other than literally sitting here doing nothing and resting, it's just going to take days off the rest I've already done and put me right back where I was. But the Basement is so gross (by my personal standards for my own living space- which are ridiculously high; it's nowhere near actually being gross when I realistically evaluate it by other peoples' standards) 😭 At least I did the laundry this weekend.
I just hate sitting here so badly. But at the same time, I'm so sleepy today. And the pain sucks; I hate Fibro so much.
