If I had a nickel for every time a piece of Biblical onscreen fiction depicted Simon Peter with an emotional support Roman friend/frenemy, I'd have two nickels
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice

OK THIS THOUGHT HASN’T PROPERLY FORMULATED BUT:
Grima refers to humans as “insects” in a derogatory way, implying disgust, they need to be crushed etc.
The Risen are powered by thanatophages which are insects!! Beetles if I recall correctly.
This might just be a word choice quibble but… Does this imply that Grima harbours some self hatred? That the power they wield in the form of Risen is innately disgusting? Especially given the origin and the alchemist who created them in the first place?

Hello, hi, I was a patron long ago and had to stop because $$ but was able to rejoin. I really want to reread Risen. Is there a good way to navigate it?
Hi hello! Oh the golden days of me being able to post consistently on patreon. A real highlight of lockdowns, that was ❤️❤️
I havent thought about risen is like years! Which is wild cos it's an amnesiac angel!crowley story, perfect after season 2
I don't think there's a way to access it for free rn, which sits badly with me. I've been thinking about this since reading your ask this morning and what I want to do (for you and me) is post it all on tumblr
However, it's hella long. So I'm gonna spend some time this week (we're very lucky it's mid semester break this week! Cos this'll probably take hours!) Setting up scheduled posts to stagger them a bit.
So yeah, I see that you follow me so keep that up and I will begin posting! I'll tag you in the first installment, cos thank you very much for reminding me about this. I don't want it behind a paywall anymore, that's just silly
Also, the reason I drew risen instead of writing it was cos I had this idea that I could draw Aziraphale pov looking at Crowley as an angel and be reminded of him as a demon. I thought I could echo scenes from the show more and have like two similar visuals next to each other to show the memory. But I never really did that. So now I'm looking forward to drawing a few extras for it too!!
It is a bit of a shame I never finished the redraw of risen, but I just had to go back to work and it takes so much time to draw comics. It's a fun story tho. Might see a light rewrite now cos I am grown and changed, ya know

“Do you not know that those of us who were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?” [Romans 6:3]
Baptism is evidence that we are implanted into Christ, baptized into him. But what interest do we gain in him by being baptized? “His death,” Paul says. If we are indeed baptized into Christ, beyond mere formality, then we are baptized into his death. The apostle gives us an explanation of being baptized into the death of Christ in Romans 6:4, 6. “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, we may also walk in newness of life.
Knowing that our old man is crucified with him, rendering the body of sin without effect, we should not serve sin as a slave anymore.” He is saying, “This is being baptized into the death of Christ, namely, to be dead to sin, to have our sins put to death just as he was put to death for our sins. This was done so that we may be raised up to grace and newness of life, just as he was raised up to glory.” He tells us why we have this baptism into the death of Christ: “Our old man is crucified with him, so that the body of sin might be destroyed,”2 [NT:4957 sustauroo]. It is “crucified with him,” not as to its timing, but as to its cause. We are crucified with him,
meritoriously, in that he procured the Spirit for us to mortify sin;
efficiently, in that from his death virtue blooms to enable us to crucify sin;
representatively, in that we will certainly be crucified to sin, just as he was for our sin.
This is what the apostle means: by his death, Christ destroyed the works of the devil, procured the Spirit for us, and killed the reign of sin in believers in such a way that it will not realize its goal, which is to control and destroy us.
~ John Owen

The Resurrection
6 He is not here, but has risen: remember when He spoke to you while He was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, 'It is necessary for the Son of man to be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to arise the third day'?" — Luke 24:6-7 | A Faithful Version (AFV) Holy Bible, A Faithful Version © 2020 A Faithful Version.
