While this season had a lot of strong models (far stronger than most ANTM cycles), Ritse was clearly the strongest. Unlike Montell, who was incredibly successful but niched, Ritse proved he was a versatile, but consistently strong model no matter what the brief was. He could pull out the boyish charm, using his slimmer physique and long hair to succeed like in the socks shoot, or bring on the sexual energy, showing off his figure and surprisingly defined features, like in the Elle and diamond shoots. Still, just like Bonita I feel he had the areas he excelled in meaning if needed he could become an incredibly successful model in one area, but has the option to do other types if necessary. This is the ideal type of model, as to gain notoriety you need to succeed at one thing, whether it be commercial, editorial, high fashion or even runway.

His portfolio was solid across the board, shown by the fact he had the highest average call-out order, having had no major low points. His worst shot was more his least impactful, than genuinely bad. His Nivea shot just lacked the same wow fact his others had. It was a nice enough photo, and his skin looked great, so he met the brief. I just doubt it is the kind of shot that would change the game. Deciding his best shot was surprisingly easy, but I feel an honourable mention needs to be given to his socks shots, as they were great. But his diamonds shot just ticked all the right boxes for me. There is such a subtle power; he gives Montell a run for his money for hottest guy with this shot alone.

Ritse clearly had all it took to be the winner, but I guess the cards weren’t in his favour. A lot of the time the best player doesn’t win, and that is just one of those situations. I am still glad he made it to the final 2, and being beaten by Montell isn’t the worst thing. It was a case of what they wanted in the situation, and versatility ended up not being as important as star power. Ritse is an incredible model, but Montell undeniably had a far more unique brand to work off.
