won me over in spite of me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: after having met at the 2020 rock n' roll hall of fame induction ceremony, eddie munson will not leave you be. keeps going on about this guy who'd be perfect for you, but you're not interested in another set-up.
a/n: long live rockstar!eddie and his meddling ways!
🎶 you are the bearer of unconditional things, you held you breath and the door for me, thanks for your patience 🎶
“I’m so sorry,” you say, badly covering yet another yawn. “I don’t know why I’m so tired today.”
A lie. Of course you knew, how could you not?
“Something keep you awake?” he asks, voice soft against the crashing tide.
You’re walking side by side in the fading light, the salty breeze tickling your nose. He’s holding your boots in one hand, insisting that they’re too nice for you to resign them to the sand, your socks tucked into his back pocket.
An amber glow cuts across his face, making him even more handsome, impossibly enough. You bite your lip, looking quickly away when his eyes meet yours— mossy green and flecked with gold.
“The jet lag, probably.” You huff and laugh, turning to watch the sunset.
He hums in thought, “We could’ve rescheduled.”
“What? like we haven’t done that several times over already?”
His bark of laughter is loud and brings a smile to your face. Steve Harrington, the talented and in-demand actor, laughing at your motor mouth. Who would have thought?
Well, Eddie Munson, for one.
Tumblr media
“Eds,” you growl picking up your phone, “It’s 4 in the fucking morning.”
“… shit, sorry.”
You roll over onto your stomach, wedging the phone between your ear and shoulder.
“Well, what is it? What couldn’t you possibly wait to badger me about?”
He sighs down the line, you can almost hear him rolling his eyes. “Remember how you were drunkenly lamenting the lack of decent men in the dating scene?”
“I told you that in confidence, Edward.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he waves you off, “And apps are the worst, even if they claim to have a screening process like Raya— that’s not your scene.”
“Can I go back to sleep now?”
“Will you just lemme,” he lets out an exasperated huff. “I am trying to you a solid girly.”
A brief consideration.
“You know how I feel about set-ups.”
“Okay, but it’s me? I’m not gonna set you up with some creep who has like, a collection of Furbies or some shit.”
“Long Furbies or normal Furbies?”
“Was any Furby truly normal? More like demon spawn— but that’s beside the point.”
You sigh, smooshing your face into the pillow and mumble out something unintelligible.
“C’mon sugar, use your big girl words.”
God, you could kill him.
“I said,” you enunciate pointedly, “I’ll consider it.”
“Hell yeah!” he crows directly into your ear. “Only a year of bugging you and you finally see reason.”
“I’ll be the judge of that, Munson.”
He ends the call by promising to send you the details. so, after your set in Munich you read through a few emails— put out a few fires your publicist expressed concern about, and check your texts.
eds: steve harrington
you: i’m sorry who?
eds: … are you fucking with me?
you: no??
eds: omg 😆 he’s gonna love that
you: the guy you’re trying to set me up with gets off on people not knowing who he is? not really selling it to me here, munson.
eds: no, that’s not— i’ll send you a pic
you: if there is a whisper of dick, i am throwing my phone into the isar river
eds: [IMG]
“Really?” you greet once he picks up, “That’s the pic? How is that supposed to be helpful?”
“Do you have any idea what time it is?”
“Shut up, nerd. I know you don’t sleep. Just answer the question.”
“Ah, you caught me,” he laughs softly. “It’s his contact photo in my phone— whaddaya want from me? You said you didn’t want a dick pic.”
You take a deep breath, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Eds, why would you have seen this guy’s dick, much less have a photo of it?”
“Truthfully, it was an accident, both times.” You can hear him shuffling across the line. “But there is nothing wrong with dudes checking out each other’s rigs.”
“I—" your mouth is gaping open like a fish. “I need to drink myself to oblivion to forget this conversation.”
“I mean, it’s noice, if that’s what you’re worried about,” he says unhelpfully.
“GOODBYE Edward!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thankfully, he calls not long after the disastrous text exchange. You were doing fuck-all lounging around the house since finishing your festival circuit. Technically, this was supposed to be a writing day, but the muse had not been kind to you lately. Studio time was booked for a few weeks out, and you were struggling to come up with the motivation to finish the last few songs for the album.
The buzz of the phone provided a needed excuse to pack it in for the day. Shutting your journal and tossing a pen onto the coffee table, you answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Uh, yeah. Hi." He cleared his throat briefly, "M'glad you picked up, considering how much of an idiot I was. Sorry, by the way."
Steve's voice is low and raspy, but warm and inviting. You lean back on the leather sofa, sinking back into the cushions suddenly not so nervous.
"Well, I'm a nice person, second chances and all that."
He laughs at that. "Very gracious of you."
"Though," you say, "You never did confirm that this is, in fact, Steve Harrington that I am speaking with."
"No?"
"Nope," you pop the 'p' for emphasis. "So, I'm gonna have to ask for some sort of proof because Eddie was less than helpful."
He scoffs, "Typical Munson."
A moment later your phone pings with a notification: s.h. sent an image. Opening it up, you compare it to the images that pop up when you Google his name, and, sure enough, that's him.
"Better?" he asks, after giving you a moment.
"I suppose it'll do. Not like I'm about to suggest facetime," you sigh, running a hand through your unkempt hair. "Especially when I'm rocking writer's retreat chic."
"Mmm," he hums, "Sounds comfy. I'm jealous."
"Yeah?" you laugh, "They not let you roll up in sweats and bleach-stained shirts for your shoot today?"
His laughter greets you, "Y'know, oddly they don't?"
The conversation flows easily from there. He tells you what he can about his current project and you regale him with tales from life on the road, including special appearances by one Eddie Munson. Steve is easy to talk to— effusive and funny, which you hadn’t expected.
You hate to admit it, but Eddie may have been onto something.
“And then he—" Steve stops short, mid-story about a prank gone awry onset of his last project, muttering an apology and you can hear him open the door.
"Mr. Harrington, they're ready for you on set."
Trying to ignore the sour pull of your gut, you heave yourself off of the couch determined to do at least one productive thing today. He had to get back to set, you needed to get something done today, and the conversation was coming to a close.
The door closes with a soft click, quickly followed by Steve's sigh. "So, I gotta get back to work."
"Yeah," you clear your throat. "I guess I should too."
"I, uh, I'm really glad we got to talk." His voice was softer now, "C-could I call you later?"
"Oh, sure." You swallow the nerves creeping up your throat and ignore the kick of your heart in your chest. "I'd like that."
"Yeah?"
You screw your eyes shut, feeling yourself growing hot. "Don't get a big head about it, Harrington."
He laughs, breath blowing in huffs down the line. "Might be too late for that honey."
Tumblr media
Numerous phone and FaceTime calls, messages, and several reschedulings later, you were going on a date with Steve. A first date at that, and you couldn't recall the last time you'd been on one of those. His assistant and best friend, Robin had called to confirm with you and promised to drop a pin of the place in Malibu where you'd meet him.
You were lucky enough to fly relatively under the radar most of the time, but since releasing and touring with your sophomore album, it was becoming more difficult to pull off. Not that you didn't like being nominated and winning awards or receiving feedback from your peers— you did, it was just a cosmic catch-22.
Steve completely understood when you'd mentioned not wanting anything especially public for the date. Just said he'd take care of it and for you not to worry about a thing.
But here you were, doing just that staring at your closet trying to find something to wear. In a panic, you'd called Eddie who was currently rifling through your dresser and tossing things behind him. The only thing you'd been able to agree on were the denim shorts, laid out on the bed awaiting the rest of your outfit.
"Aha!" He tossed a red top onto the bed, turning back to face you. "Those," he gestured to the shirt and shorts, "With your boots— the Docs or Blood—"
“Blundstone.”
"Right," he nods, "S'what I said."
You appraise the articles of clothing warily. "Okay."
"Now the lingerie situation is where it gets interesting."
You scoff, "Absolutely not." And begin herding him toward the door, "Consider your services done for the evening."
Shutting the door to change, you hear Eddie talking indistinctly in the hallway. Tieing the hem of the shirt into a knot, you let Eddie back in to assess.
With a nod of approval, he ends the call. "What's up, hot stuff? Harrington's not gonna know what hit him!"
You smile and walk to the mirror in the bathroom to see what can be done about your hair and makeup.
"Speaking of which," Eddie trails after you. "That was him on the phone. Fashion emergency, would you believe?"
"Uh huh," you roll your eyes. "Okay, Miranda Priestly."
"Anyway, I gotta run." He gives you a quick peck on the cheek and a smile. "You're gonna knock 'em dead!"
And he's off.
"Hey," Eddie shouts from the first-floor entryway. "Keep your hair down and do a red lip with that, sugar!"
Tumblr media
Steve meets you at the beach. He’s dressed down in jeans and t-shirt and a red bomber jacket— you try to hide the smirk creeping its way across your face; Eddie purposefully curating your respective sartorial choices to match. What a little scamp. You park the car, a vintage cream Mercedes convertible and give yourself a final look in the mirror— hair voluminous and wind whipped (shout-out to leave in stylers), red lip matching your top to a tee.
Well, here goes nothing.
“Hi,” he greets you, a bouquet of your favorite flowers in hand. Steve opens the door for you, allowing you to step out and put your sunglasses on.
The door shuts with a soft click.
“Hi,” you reply with a small smile, willing the nerves bubbling in your chest to stay at bay. You nod to the bundle of flowers, “Those for me?”
“Oh, right.” As if he’s just remembered them. “Yeah, your assistant said these were your favorite so.” He extends the hand holding the bouquet toward you, almost hesitantly.
“They are,” you say, fingers brushing against his as you accept the flowers, paper and cellophane crinkling in your grasp. Bringing them to your nose, you breathe in the fresh fragrance of the flowers. “You did good Harrington, thank you.”
He ducks his head and smiles, one hand coming up to run through his hair. “Uh, you're welcome. I’m glad you like them.” He jerks his head toward the beach, “We’re set-up a bit further down. You don’t mind a walk, do you?” You can feel his eyes on you, even as you look away to the shoreline.
A shake of your head, skin warming from the sun overhead and excitement at the possibility of this new thing between you and Steve. What might it be like? To put yourself through it all again, with someone new?
“No,” you answer, jarring yourself from any further lines of inquiry. “I don’t mind at all. Lead the way!”
He slows his pace to walk beside you, sunglasses hiding his gaze. You hold the flowers in your left hand, leaving your right— the one closest to Steve, free. He walks on the right, keeping the damp sand of the shore from you. It reminds you of something your grandmother said way back when you had started entertaining thoughts about dating for the first time: A gentleman always walks on the outside of their date, it’s a sign of chivalry and respect.
Your hands brush a couple of times, pinkies grazing one another. Steve is quiet, more so than you’d been accustomed to— he’s a regular chatterbox on the phone and a texting fiend, more often than not. Maybe he’s nervous? He certainly wouldn’t be the only one. Hands bumping against each other once more, you take it upon yourself make the first move.
“If you wanted to hold my hand so badly,” you laugh, twining your fingers together, “You could’ve just asked Steve.”
He looks at you, pink flush on his cheeks and a beatific smile. “Sorry,” he says with a squeeze of your hand, “Guess I’m a little rusty. And nervous,” he admits shyly. “You’re just so—“
“Intimidating? I get that a lot.”
Steve stops short, looking at you once more. “No— I mean, maybe to some but,” he pushes his sunglasses up into his hair. “You’re … beautiful.”
It’s an interesting phrase and you notice that it’s not the usual you look beautiful. But instead he’s said it as a declaration of fact— you are beautiful. Not in the way that relies on your looks or the clothes you’re wearing. And it’s nice— it’s sincere because that’s just how Steve Harrington is, as you’ve come to quickly learn.
“Sorry, was that—“
“Don’t apologize,” you say, when you’ve found your voice again. “I— thank you.” You duck your chin to hide your stupid grin. “You’re beautiful too, Steve.”
The walk resumes, both of you more at ease now. The conversation flows easily between you— work, friends, schedules— and you allow yourself to relax. First-date jitters subsided with the cadence of his voice and the warmth of his hand engulfing yours.
Maybe, just maybe this could become something real.
And, if so, Eddie Munson would never let you hear the end of it.

Dickey Betts
Guitarist, singer and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band best known for writing their 1973 hit Ramblin’ Man
Dickey Betts, who has died aged 80, was a founder member of the Allman Brothers Band, one of the most influential US “southern rock” groups of the 1970s. The hard-living outfit blazed out of Jacksonville, Florida, in 1969 with a mix of rock, blues, country and jazz that defined the genre, also influencing artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, the Black Crowes and Kid Rock. They scored several platinum and gold albums and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Although the six-piece band was ostensibly led by the blond- haired Allman brothers, Duane and Gregg (guitar and keyboards/vocals respectively), as joint lead guitarist, singer and main songwriter Betts played a crucial role. A larger than life character with his cowboy hats, long moustache and gunslinger good looks, Betts wrote many of the band’s best loved songs, including Jessica, Blue Sky and the 1973 US No 2 smash Ramblin’ Man, inspired by life on the road.
The signature duelling of Betts’s and Duane Allman’s lead guitars rewrote the rule book of how twin guitarists play together - previously one had played lead and the other rhythm. The band’s huge fanbase included President Jimmy Carter, and in 2020 Betts even received the rare accolade of a mention in a Bob Dylan song, when Murder Most Foul contained the line “Play Oscar Peterson, play Stan Getz/Play Blue Sky, play Dickey Betts.”
He was also the inspiration for the rock star character played by Billy Crudup in the former rock journalist Cameron Crowe’s film Almost Famous (2000), the director having been drawn to Betts’s aura of “possible danger and playful recklessness behind his eyes”.
Betts was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, one of the three children of Harold, a carpenter, and his wife, Sarah (nee Brinson), who wrote poetry and played the cornet in a Salvation Army band. Although his father was also a keen fiddler, Dickey’s first instrument was the ukelele, which he started playing aged five, later graduating to the mandolin and the banjo.
He was at West Gate elementary school when he wrote his first song, Seven Years With Pamela, about his sister. He then attended various West Palm Beach schools until seventh grade, dropping out of high school when he was 16, by which time his pursuits included carpentry, hunting and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the family radio.
Hearing Chuck Berry’s Maybellene in his mid-teens prompted another switch of instrument, as he “started realising that girls like guitars”. He dropped out of high school aged 16 to tour the US with a travelling circus in his first band, the Swinging Saints, but was playing in Second Coming with the bassist Berry Oakley when Duane Allman invited both men to join his new group.
The lineup was completed by the drummer Butch Trucks and – unusually in white-dominated 60s southern rock - a black second drummer, James Lee Johnson, who had previously played with Otis Redding and Percy Sledge.
Although sales of their first two albums were sluggish, Duane Allman’s appearance on Eric Clapton’s 1970 album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs – which included the classic hit Layla – boosted the heavy-touring Allman Brothers Band’s rising profile. Their 1971 live album At Fillmore East sold 1m copies.
After Duane Allman and Oakley were killed in motorcycle accidents in 1971 and 1972 respectively, Betts led a rejigged lineup. The 1973 album Brothers and Sisters – featuring Ramblin’ Man and the instrumental Jessica, later the theme to the television motoring show Top Gear – topped the US charts for five weeks, while 1975’s Win, Lose Or Draw went into the Top five. By then the band were succumbing to a familiar music industry cocktail of success, drugs, alcohol and feuding.
Betts and Gregg Allman both made solo albums, before Betts felt betrayed when the latter testified against the band’s road manager in a 1976 drugs case and refused to work with him again. Nevertheless, they regrouped in 1978, splitting again in 1982.
A second comeback in 1989 proved more enduring, although in 2000 Betts was fired over his drinking. That third spell in the band had been dogged by alcohol and drug abuse, lawsuits and arrests, and in 1996 he was charged with aggravated domestic assault after pointing a handgun at his fifth wife, Donna (nee Stearns), whom he had married in 1989. The charges were dropped after Betts agreed to enter rehab.
In his later years he returned with his own Dickey Betts Band and played in the band Great Southern with his son Duane. True to his ramblin’ man credentials, he remained on the road to the last, even after brain surgery following a 2018 fall at home, and he released live albums well into his 70s.
He is survived by Donna and his children, Kimberly, Christy, Jessica and Duane.

“Special Agent Bolan.”
Reference: Marc Bolan
Episode: 8x13 “Everybody Hates Hitler”
Writer: Ben Edlund
Spoken To: Aaron Bass
Media Type: Celebrity - Musician
Timeframe: 1947-1977
Description: An English guitarist, singer-songwriter and poet. He was a pioneer of the glam rock movement in the early 1970s with his band T. Rex. Bolan was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of T. Rex.
FUN FACT! Bolan is quoted as saying this in regards to his sexuality - "Anyway, I'm gay," he only half-jested. "I can't say I was a latent homosexual – I was an early one.” Which makes it interesting that this is the alias Dean uses with his “gay thing.”

joan <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
joan baez is an american singer songwriter and activist. many of her folk songs spread awareness about social justice, and are protest songs. she was part of the folk revival of the 1960s alongside bob dylan, who she had a very public relationship with, and she is arguably one of the most important folk singers. in 2017 she was inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame.
joan chandos baez grew up in nyc and as a child her family converted to Quakerism. during her childhood she was often discrimanated and called racial slurs because of her Mexican heritage, which sparked her intrest in activism. she attended boston university and lter dropped out to perform in local cafes and venus, and refused to play in segregated areas.
joan's first professional performance was at 18, and afterwards she made her first album sold moderately well. she went on tour and had a sold out performance. in 1961 she relased another album, then another in 1962 which both went gold. the same year she was on the cover of time magazine- something that was rare for musicians. during the mid 60s she continued to rise in popularity, and introduced her audience to the then unknown bob dylan.
the two were in a relationship throughout the early to mid 60s, and wrote numerous songs about each other. joan's musical style was unique and she continued to experiment with different styles. bob described her as having a 'siren' like voice and having a unique guitar style. her first single to chart was in 1965, and out of her 14 vanguard albums, 13 were on the billboard 100 mainstream pop chart. 11 made top 40, 8 made top 20 and 4 made top 10. her music has inspired the likes of bob dylan, joni mitchell, judas priest, led zeppelin and many more.
a crucial part of joan's life has been her activism. she was one of the early artists to use her platform to spread awareness, both through her music and through her actions. she supported the civil right's movement (leading to an fbi file on her), protested the war in vietnam (and got arrested), is against the death penalty, advocated for the lgbtq+ community, supported peaceful protests in iran, performed in rallies against the war in iraq, was in a tree 'sit-in' for urban farmers, endorsed obama during the 2008 election and performed for the protesters at occupy wall street in 2011.
in 2007 joan was given the lifetime achievement award at the grammy's for her impact on music, and in 2011 the amnesty international, a human rights group honored joan and had a tribute event. she also received an award in 2015 by the amnesty international. the american academy of the arts and sciences elected her to the fellowship in 2020 for her contributions to music and activism, and she was listed at 189 on rolling stone's 200 best singers list.

Queer Metalhead History
It’s time for a brief lesson about the history of queerness and metal music. That’s right, the metal and queer communities are old friends and allies.
So, the leather community has been around since the late 1920′s/early 1930′s, but leather bars specifically became more popular in the late 1950′s. And you know who was hanging out at leather bars? Gay bikers and veterans, who needed safe places to gather during McCarthyism and the Lavender Scare. In fact, the Satyr Motorcycle Club, the oldest gay biker club in the United States, was recently inducted into the Leather Hall of Fame.
And who was spending time in those clubs and with those gangs? Rob Halford, lead singer and songwriter for the legendary heavy metal band (and my personal favorite band of all time) Judas Priest. His song “Raw Deal” (1977) includes the line: “The true free expression I demand is human rights” and references “Fire Island”, a popular gay hangout in New York.
He stated in a 2019 interview: “I urge people, LGBTQ, any of us that are still trying to find that moment to break down the door … step forward and say, 'This is who I am and I’m proud of who I am. I'm not going to be intimidated. I'm not going to live in fear. I'm not going to put everybody else before me.”
In 2020 he was interviewed by Rolling Stone and said: “Everything changes when you hit the stage. Just getting out there and holding a mic, there’s something very tangible that shifts in me and suddenly it’s the Metal God. It’s a bit like when Superman went into the phone booth and came out. Whereas he came out in a cape and tights, I come out in leather chaps.”
The title “Metal God” comes from Priest’s sixth studio album, British Steel, which was released in 1980. The album cover depicts a man’s hand holding a razor blade and wearing a spiked leather cuff on his wrist; Halford’s experiences in the leather community forever affected the metal community, who picked up on this trend quickly and spread it through the culture.
Tumblr media
He posted selfies with his favorite cat t-shirts through the entirety of the COVID-19 lockdown, for fuck’s sake, and swaps book recommendations with his life partner, Thomas.
Tumblr media
And yet the metal community remains largely homophobic, with Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx using the f-slur repeatedly, the infamous “AIDS Kills F***s” t-shirt worn by Skid Row’s guitarist Sebastian Bach, and plenty of other examples should you care to learn more.
This Pride Month, as a metalhead raised by an 80′s metalhead who took my queer ass to see Judas Priest a few years back (love you Dad), let’s say thank you to this badass “stately homosexual”. Let’s remember who’s predominantly responsible (not entirely, but he helped A LOT) for the leather aesthetic in metal. For some of the queerest lyrics of all time (Grinder, anyone? Perhaps Hell Bent for Leather?). For being a general badass Metal God.
Rock on, Rob Halford.

Harry's Style Evolution (by an actual stylist) Part 3: Fine Line Era! Part 1 of 2*
Hi hi hi. First of all thanks for all the love on Part 1 and Part 2 which are linked. I highly recommend reading them first as I'll be referencing some of his past style.
This one took me so long to do because Harry's Fine Line era is when he really develops the personal style that he's now known for, and I have LITERALLY SO MUCH TO SAY. So without further ado!
Tumblr media
*LOL I HIT PIC LIMIT before we even got to 2020. This is officially HS Style part 3 but Part 1 of 2 for the Fine Line Era.
HERE'S THE LINK TO PART 2
We left off in 2018, Harry was still touring his first album and was dating Camille Rowe (as far we know) who was beginning to influence his style.
After Live on Tour ends there's a period where we don't see him for a bit. Later we'll learn that him and Camille have broken up, and he jets off to Japan for some much needed hermit time.
2019
January, Harry's spotted in Japan. He rings in the new year with a ragtag batch of famous people that are for some reason all in Japan at the same time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we see the debut of the custom gold Gucci rings that will become a staple for him (they retail at $470 each incase you were wondering.) We also see him in some Gucci jeans, and this vintage army jacket that I still have dreams about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By March he's back in London and we get some more hints of his evolving personal style. He's back in jeans but he's over the black skinny's he previously coveted instead opting for a light wash straight leg. He wears this Raf Simmons jumper I'm obsessed with an looks oh-so-cozy. We'll also see the athletic outfits that he still wears today.
Also in March he introduced, and preforms with, Stevie Nicks as she's inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame.
Tumblr media
He wears a gorgeous blue Gucci suit with white Gucci boots. We'll actually see him in this exact same Blue suit later in an ad campaign for Gucci for their Fall 2019 collection. (P.S. his hair is so delicious here I love this length on him.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next time we publicly see Harold is in May for the MET GALA! Y'all do not understand how hard I screamed in my living room when I found out he was going to be one of the chairs.
Tumblr media
We first see him in a Gucci ensemble at the pre-gala dinner which he hosts at <3 Stonewall Inn <3 I literally remember when these pictures dropped me and the girlies were going stupid on Tumblr.com. It's hard to see in this picture but this is the first we see the EARRING! (May she rest)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do remember being slightly disappointed with Harry's gala fit at the time. I wanted it a little campier and brighter, but as his style has evolved into the Harry's House era (we will get there when we get there lol.) I feel like in retrospect I can appreciate her much better.
She was delicate, she was sexy, and she was camp and queer in a much subtler way. The pearl earring really was everything not to mention the way he looks in the sheer black. YUM!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the after party H changes into another Gucci ensemble which is very camp in an Orville Redenbacher way. He Gucci drop cross earring is a slay.
Also in May Harry attends his first (can you believe it?) Gucci show and wears one of my FAVORITE outfits he's ever worn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's head to toe Gucci of course, but the white suit with the white tank underneath it. Paired with pink sunglasses and pink soft loafers and a WICKER bag! Honey, THIS is styling!
He looks like he's about to ask if I wanna do a bump in the bathroom and my answer is YES!
Harry started working with Harry Lambert towards the end of his time in 1D, and so it's safe to assume that Lambert also had something to do with this outfit (and every other outfit he wears during this era.) How we fell from grace I still can't place in my head.
Anyway we also see his soon-to-be signature Fine Line pink and blue forever nails.
In August and September he appears on a myriad of Magazine covers. Most notably Rolling Stone, but my personal favorite The Face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what if I think about his photos for The Face in the night time sometimes, what're you gonna do sue me?!
Left he wears Bode shorts, middle a Gucci shirt and right a gorgeous Martine Rose jacket that he pairs with acid wash jeans.
In October the music video for Lights Up drops out of no where (fun fact when it dropped I was drunk in a club and went in the bathroom to watch it, when I woke up the next day I thought I'd dreamed the whole thing.
Tumblr media
The Lights Up MV features a variety of looks. Including what will become the official Fine Line outfit: suspenders over an open shirt with high waisted trousers. This graphic is from Harry Fashion Archive which I did get a lot of these pics from so go check them out.
In November Fine Line the album is officially announced! (See how much there is to cover! We haven't even gotten to album release yet!)
Tumblr media
On the cover Harry wears a custom Gucci ensemble of an open shirt, suspenders, and high waisted pants. Featuring Tom Walker's hand in a Gucci glove.
In November he hosts and is the musical guest on SNL where we get some great looks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He preforms the soon-to-be smash hit Watermelon Sugar for the first time in a custom Watermelon-coloured Gucci suit. He also preforms Lights Up in a sequin Gucci suit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the show he wears another Gucci suit from their Spring/Summer collection (left). This look (right) is another all time favorite outfit of mine. A custom Bode shirt jacket paired with the iconic Christopher Kane "Sex" shirt, and brown Gucci trousers. This is another example of styling at its finest.
Tumblr media
Off the show he wears a few sweater vests, most popular of which is this one by Lavin (left.) At a Spotify party for his album in December he will wear another Lavin piece, this time a cardigan, paired with baggy chinos and vans and the soon to infamous pearl necklace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few more fashion moments happen in December. He collaborates with Alessandro Michele for the first time to create this limited edition "Fine Line" t-shirt (left) that retails for $75. (Did anyone actually buy these?) He also goes through a Marc Jacobs sweater/shirt kick seen here on the Ellen show (right) but he wears them a few more times as well.
Tumblr media
He preforms "Fine Line Live" in Los Angeles wearing the Gucci suit from the album cover paired with socks that say Fuck It (left.) Right he wears another Gucci suit to preform "Fine Line Live" in London.
*LOL I HIT PIC LIMIT before we even got to 2020. This is officially HS Style part 3 but Part 1 of 2 for the Fine Line Era.
