My Weiss Schnee SI fanfiction

First chapter of Weissweise

or RWBY for one who didn't watch it

Doing the Stupid

Thoughts were quite mushy.

I propped myself up from the floor on my elbows and looked at the tense back of the big sis, who was covering me with her snowflake - the glyph - from the fire, opened by some freaks in masks. For some reason I remembered that this was my sister, though I'd never had an older sister in my life. For some reason I thought I was male, though I was wearing an uncomfortably short skirt and heels, and - I shifted my knees and rubbed the inner parts of my thighs against each other - there are absolutely no desired sex characteristics. This body thought it was a girl, until the very hit to the head as a result of these terrorists smashing the window in my favorite cafe, with a grenade at that. I was slightly carried away by the shock wave - it was a dust grenade... What does dust mean? We - and a bunch of civilians, of course - were saved by my sister's impeccable reaction. Snowflake - by the name of the Twins, it's a glyph, not a snowflake! - was a great way to protect, as it turned out.

"Winter," I whispered, and winced at the surrounding screams and wails.

There weren't just civilians here, Atlas specialists-huntsmen - who are the specialists-huntsmen? - they were shooting back hard, and some of them couldn't tolerate the sight of civilians with shrapnel wounds and went into close combat.

"Winter!"

I said that louder and realized that my voice gained raspy quality, although it was very squeaky, compared to what I was used to... And what am I used to?

"How long until the arrival of backup?"

She squinted at me and spoke through clenched teeth.

"They will arrive on the alarm beakon in three to five minutes, the police as well. You've been unconscious for over five minutes, so... Weiss, hide for now, okay? Don't do anything stupid!"

Her attention shifted back to the fight, she swore softly, and then fired summoned nevermores at enemies unseen. What the devil are nevermores? And what is the devil?

The big sis obviously took someone out, because I noticed her satisfied smile, and then she immediately disappeared from my sight.

Wow, the speed!

I leaned back, trying to sort out all this fantasy setting happening, while feeling terribly tired - it felt as if the best choice would be to continue lying unconscious. I also bumped the same place on my scull again, it had knocked me out before - was it just some kind of grenade that took off my aura so quickly?! - what the fuck is aura?!

I was ready to simply growl from the unknown of what was happening, my emotions, my thoughts - everything was mixed up. Here were feelings like the effects of green fairy, lifting the current mood and setting up a further positive feelings - I'm alive! Yes! I'm alive again! And there was a strange tearfulness and disturbance from helplessness - What to do? Civilians got hurt because of me, and so did the cafe. My father was right...

"Fuck father", I muttered, touching the bloody back of my head, on which my aura was already working, because the pain gradually dissipated.

My eyes stopped on a frightened girl with a clearly noticeable red fluffy tail, in a waiter's apron, who, like all the other civilians, tried to flee somewhere, but apparently her injured leg prevented her. I kept muttering to myself - now I had a shock verbal diarrhea, so in the end, even if someone hears, they'll just have to understand, forgive and let it go.

"Wow! There are furries here! This is plus hundred to will for life! Need to help. I'll just have to get up now..."

I groaned like some old granny, well, more like a pug, but the granny sounds better, then I got on all fours. The knees, in no way covered with anything but tights, did not like it, because the shards were everywhere. But my Aura was certainly enough not to get hurt... What the hell is this Aura? What the hell is hell?

"A-a-ah, bitch!"

I tried to get up and doubled up, naturally, after a couple of steps in this crouched position, I was trying to make sure that these terrorists, who are already screaming in horror from my sister, by the way, did not notice me.

"Oh, hello, pretty girl! How's your nothing?"

I obviously fell next to this canine girl, but she no longer listened to my questions that were too joyful for this reality. She gasped for air immediately after my "bitch", almost crying in shock. Of course, I didn't get it right away, but apparently she took it personally, that's weird.

"I'm not!" her voice was pleasant, not as hoarse as mine, but she was not that much sprinkled with plaster from the ceiling that fell down on me from the explosion. "Couldn't we just..."

"We could do anything honestly, but only after we, hopefully supporting each other, go through the back door. You have no concussion, and I got two legs. That okay?"

I spoke confidently, without negativity, because I needed her to agree as soon as possible, and not to cause more circus.

I stretched out my little hands to her, and we half-bent and half-hopped after many civilians who had already left this place. You never know if what my sister said there was rational - any moron understands that staying at the same place in case of such an attempt on life would be suicidal.

After a couple of minutes of hobbling, this canine girl thought of something ridiculous and spat it out.

"You took me with you because it's White Fang, and they won't kill the faunus?"

I thought for about three seconds - I was still trying to grasp what she meant while I was consulting with an inner voice who exactly these faunus were - and rasped in her ear, almost growling with irritation.

"You don't know the terrorists very well, dear... Uh-uh... By the way, what's your name?"

"Mei. Mei Herd."

"Herd, you mean, like Feuer Herd?"

"Yes, this is my father's cafe."

"We will restore it," I said confidently and pressed her in this slightly gusty half-embrace to me, and her tail curled nervously around my arm. "I hope faunus don't flirt like that? Now is not the time, although I wouldn't mind much..."

With these words, I kicked the back door, briefly thinking that I would definitely change my wardrobe from skirts to pants, because suits are forever, and dresses lift up.

"Schnee!"

A masked guy tried to run me with a sword, obviously guarding the back door for just such a meeting - they let the rest of the civilians get out, it was a terrorist attack aimed specifically at our anti-Addams family... What the Addams had is much better, honestly, than the thoughts that come to me in response to these not-my-own-but-mine memories.

His hit didn't work out, because Mei turned out to have both the Aura and the Semblance, and it was apparently protection and strengthening of the body, extended to whatever or whoever she touched. My Aura level was still below the necessary, although I was not so shaky anymore. Apparently, this girl went to some Atlas combat school and therefore assumed in her much less clouded brain that we could be having some joyous meeting right at the exit of the building.

Unfortunately, this masked genius realized that this is not my feature - damn snowflakes - Glyphs! - Why is it so fundamental?! - they were quite visible when they did something magical. It's not magic! For me, everything that is not on the laws of physics will be magic!

I blinked, because I was a little carried away with my thoughts again, and instead of solving the questions of reality, for some reason I started a conversation with myself.

The tail disappeared from around my forearm. The girl already patched up her wound due to the fact that the shard passed her tangentially, because we had time to rest while we were limping towards the exit. So she decided to shield me with herself and try to start a conversation. She obviously still believed that they wouldn't try to kill her because of her faunosity or whatever, but I was less naive. I quickly threw my phone - a multifunctional scroll - on the floor behind me after I put it on the record. I felt it was important. This will prove the arse of all this terrorism in all its glory, and will probably become one of the hits in the destruction of this radical cell...

The girl got in huge trouble, because there was clearly the adult man with burning eyes and the Aura that was open for much longer than hers, but the epicest and most ingenious dialogue prevented the fight from ending in a couple of blows.

"She's a SCHNEE-E-E!"

Aw, I'm going to go so deaf, although it seems even from my vague memories, this is the first time I don't have to do anything at all to have money, except to agree with my father, and this is the only thing that will definitely be difficult for me to do... Why did they decide to attack his family? Don't they understand how this guy is? Even his real name translates as frostbitten or whatever, what else do they need to understand how he will not give a shit about the death of his daughters, as long as he has his own dick in his pants and a son who kisses his ass at every opportunity?

"She just carried me out of the building you blew up!"

Well, don't exaggerate, I'm blushing! But her face was contagiously inspired when she said it.

"Why are you defending her, you're faunus!"

The man dodged the girl's fist - she demolished a lamppost because of this dodge, and his sword tried to sweep off her hand, but once again the aura did not allow the maximum fcukery to happen - I have not yet seen the dismemberment today. Although, judging by the mood of this idiot, who didn't even think of calling for his colleagues - or was too proud to call - it's quite possible that everything could end with this dismemberment. Maybe not even mine? Although why do I have doubts, we're basically schoolgirls, so what could we be talking about here at all? It totally ends with bloodbath!

"Because she is a person!"

The dude's ass was blown by these words, and I realized that the PR team of the father of this body would kiss me wherever I point, if I wouldn't die here. Just for the sake of it, I will try not to die.

"Gra-a-a-a!"

Well, it's not a bighorn, but a bear - well, then let it be Ursa! What the hell is Ursa!

When I blinked, instead of the darkness of my closed eyelids, for some reason I saw a short flash of the image of that very Ursa in the photo in the scroll. Mine, by the way, continued to record, so... Then I did the stupid thing, I followed the girl who got flung into the wall, rushed to her even, and not to the enemy, like an honest to gods civilian idiot. That is why I received a blow from this masquerader a step before getting to her, but she waved her tail, as if expecting his actions, anticipating their simple direction. Her fluffy tail managed to touch my ankle.

I crushed on top of the girl anyway - she passed out, and for a moment it seemed to me that she was not breathing. That is why I quite justifiably lost my temper in a way that Weiss had never done before, in any case, such a feeling was new to both this body and myself, because Aura was an extremely unfamiliar concept... Anyway, I remembered at least that for sure!

Out of the corner of my eye, I realized that a snowflake, familiar to everyone but me, had formed behind my back - YES, IT'S A FUCKING SNOWFLAKE, SHUT UP! - and for some reason, the faunus who opposed me, instead of continuing the onslaught, spent precious seconds to grab his sword more tightly and move back... Heck! He decided to use his Semblance whatever it was, damn it! Come on, I already died before, I certainly don't like it, but judging by what I got here from my memories, this world is not the best place to enjoy culture and recreation, and being here without special qualities of a fighter is somehow not very safe, especially as an heir...

"What a nonsense!" I snapped, trying to stall for time.

For some reason, I felt cold from behind, and the man with the sword growled something indefinite, and for some reason his eyes widened, he shook his head strangely and then made some kind of indefinable face. I was getting carried away, and I was afraid of losing eye contact with my only spectator, so I was carried along all the ravines there were.

"We are all people, we are all being attacked by the grimm, you have just ruined one of those rare Atlas cafes where faunus are positively treated, simply because you wanted to get to me and my sister! How did you have the fucking audacity and stupidity?! This will only make the situation worse! What does it have to do with me at all? Are you an overgrown moron or are you pretending? I can see that you're twice my age!"

"You are SHNEE-E-E!" - the man finally found the rage he had been looking for all this time, lit up with his Aura, and rushed at me.

My own rage - from the understanding I will have to die again, and from the fact that the tail of my recent savior went limp, and she herself was right behind my back - my own rage solved the outcome of this clash.

I freaked out.

BRO, WHY’D YOU LIKE YUKICHIE SO MUCH??

Ok first of all, bro,,, B R O, bro ilysm being able to infodump like this means so much to me for real. And second of all, this is gonna be very bullet point-e since I can't string a coherent sentence together to save my life. LET'S BEGIN:

Tropes and dichotomies

Yukichie has a bunch of romantic tropes, including but not limited to:

-Beautiful and popular genius falls for airhead jock outcast.

-Childhood best friends to lovers.

-Two girls fall in love but one girl's close minded parents (yukikos) disapprove and kick her out so she suddenly moves in with chie (this definitely happened i'm sure of it).

Now the dichotomies:

Fire and ice: I feel like I don't even have to explain why this is romantic so I'm just gonna jump straight into the evidence: Yukiko is the teammate with Agi and Chie is the one with Bufu, one of Yukiko’s themes is called “Snowflakes” and there's also the twin dragons special move.

Sun and moon: Might be a stretch but I really do think that Yukiko is the moon, silent, beautiful and graceful while Chie is the sun, energetic, bright and hot to the touch.

Shadows

Shadow Chie reveals that Chie developed an inferiority complex from constantly comparing herself to Yukiko (not surprising but aw :(), and part of this is her not feeling worthy of Yukiko and her company, bUT MEANWHILE YUKIKO HAS THE OPPOSITE PROBLEM WHERE SHE RELIES TOO MUCH ON CHIE,,, like shadow Yukiko literally says says to Chie “Chies my prince, she's a strong prince, or at least she was”, she hoped and relied on Chie to save her from having to take over the inn and having to stay in Inaba,,,,. ALSO WHEN SHADOW YUKIKO'S HEALTH IS LOW SHE SUMMONS A PRINCE SHADOW WTF, WTF WTF WTF, SHE STRAIGHT UP SUMMONS HER PRINCE, CHIE, WHEN SHE’S MOST VULNERABLE????? HELP???

And speaking of shadows, Chie is pretty calm when it comes to rescuing people from the TV world except for Yukiko, she goes absolutely APESHIT, says "You don't know SHIT about how I feel! Yukiko might DIE from this, for crying out loud! I'm going, and that's that!" before running HEADFIRST INTO A MONSTER INFESTED PALACE WITHOUT A PERSONA OF HER OWN,, TRUE LOVE RIGHT THERE BABY. She also almost single handedly beats up a whole ass police station for even suggesting that Yukiko was involved in the murders.

Color theory

I'm a huge rwby fan so colors is definitely gonna have its own section IFSFNS. Anyways, in color theory, colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel are considered complementary colors, and guess what the most used example for this? Green and red! Green and red always pop out when they're next to each other, and color is very important in p4 (for various reasons but a big example is how all the students at school wear dull colors except for the investigation team, they're just full on power rangers), so id like to think that making Yukiko’s and Chie’s colors the prime example of complementary colors was something intentional made to remind you of how well they work together.

Also: Chie “wow yukiko red looks really good on you” yukiko, twirling her hair “haha thanks do you mind if i wear it for the rest of my life-”. Also side note I’m 100% sure that Rio’s favourite color is red because it reminds her of Hamuko <3.

Comphet and obliviousness

It's very obvious that like, everyone’s in the investigation team suffers from comphet, especially considering their reaction to Kanji coming out (which is, something), but I'm only gonna talk about yukichies; first of all this whole scene screams of comphet, no one just gushes about their friend THAT much:

Also, Chie disapproves of all of Yukiko's suitors cause she's subconsciously jealous, Chie is 100% a baby lesbian cause shes literally like: “haha im not a lesbian, I just cut my hair short and mostly hang out with guys because then I’ll be more masculine and men like girls so-aw shit”.

Also, Inaba is a breeding ground for comphet because it's a rural town in the middle of nowhere in a town where most of the popuñation is old so,,,yeah,,,.Yukiko feels like her only option in life is to take over the Amagi inn and follow in her family's footsteps, which would in turn be like rotting away in Inaba, so I like to think that the Amagi inn is some sort of metaphor for how being yourself is key even though it can disappoint your parents by making you stray from the path they paved for you, but that’s still an important step to take to become a better person and being true to yourself. Now that isn't very different from coming out now is it?

Official art and others

-Yukiko’s and Chie’s designs inspired Tomoe Tachibana and Maria Torres from Trauma Team and they’re hella gay

-Yukiko and Chie are next to each other or side eyeing each other when the other isn't looking in 99% of the official art they're in, I wonder why that is-. Also if you look through Chie’s gallery 90% of her photos include Yukiko and vice versa.

-Everyone in Inaba knows that Chie and Yukiko are practically dating cause some bullies literally threaten Chie with hurting Yukiko saying stuff like “that precious Yukiko-san of yours” and “So don't you care about what happens to your loved ones” LIKE HELLO???

-Chies social link? oh you mean the yukichie social link right? No but seriously like Chies social link revolves around Yukiko NANFFGGW

-Yukiko’s theme in p4u is “princess Amagi” and shadow Yukiko calls Chie her prince, coincidence? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Fun headcanons and random stuff

-Chie definitely short circuited for a full ten seconds when she saw Yukiko in a yukata for the first time

-I'm sure that when the investigation team meets up like 20 years after p4 they'll be like “wait Yukiko you've been living with Chie for years?? did you get married?” Yukiko and Chie who haven't even started dating officially “no?? what are you talking about- WAIT.”

-Yukiko and Chie: *adopt three cats and a dog and call them their children*, also yukichie “we’re just really good friends :)))”

-Yukiko and Chie definitely made out with each other a couple of times using the excuse of “were practising for when we have boyfriends”

In conclusion, yukiko and chie have the type of love where they've known each other for so long and care for each other so deeply and passionately that they don't need to search for a significant other because deep down they've always known they were each others. They've always pictured the other in their life from beginning to end but have yet to put together that they want to be in each others life romantically because of comphet and just, never really seeing each other as an option because they've just always been friends, nothing more nothing less. KindKillia Kiki: noble who ran away to become a scholar with a Branded arm who plays scientist

Sora Nightshade: Sylvari based on Sunrise whose in a relationship with a Charr, defeated Tequatl

Esme Seacanary: demon child who likes ham and murder, can see the future and read minds

Seacanary: demon assassin who adopted the demon child, really hundreds of years old but doesn’t look like it

Natasha Natalia: the demon assassin’s other adoptive daughter, not a demon but obsessed with pointy objects and afraid of water

Maylin Fateweaver: a kleptomaniac Charr whose married to a mesmer and has a beloved pet Devourer named Whip

Nikita Solanum: a Sylvari witch who likes experimenting on her victims , married to another Sylvari

Roselea Eleanor: Seraph in Training with a secret daughter from a teenage pregnancy, Esme’s cousin

Brynnsonia: Maylin’s best friend, whose human, vegan , bisexual and a thief . She’s of Canthan descent.

Kira of the Realm: Ahriadnae’s young assistant who basically fell into Ahriadnae’s life and annoyed her until she was made her assistant.

Averie Rose: a cosplayer character for Ruby Rose from RWBY, named after my niece, Avery.

Ashenathe: a pyromanaic Sylvari

Luna Spiritsong: the descendant of a Canthan Ritualist who channels the spirit and memories of her ancestor

Braum Hreindyr: a cosplay character of Braum, the Heart of the Freljord from League of Legends who is my cinnamon bun and favorite character from that game

Diana Moonfallen: a cosplay character of Diana, Scorn of the Moon from League of Legends

Poro of the Abyss: inspired by my Poro plush from the game League of Legends, said plush was studied expensively to make as a character in GW2

Kindred Seeker: a cosplayer character of Kindred, the Eternal Hunters from League of Legends

Mai Requiem: a Charr necromancer whose entire theme is “blue “ , named after my Necromancer from GW1.

Leona Zenithen: a cosplay character of Leona, the Radiant Dawn from League of Legends

Pyrrha Sigrid: a cosplay character of Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY

Wistirya: a Sylvari who is entirely enthralled with her Fern Hound “Ferny”, who is the only person she loves, to the point where she could murder anyone who gets too close for her comfort, shes incredibly paranoid.

Eleanor Miterian: a hammer-wielding sassy girl who thinks she’s Roselea’s cousin as she was raised as such but is actually Roselea’s daughter . She asks about her mother constantly but isn’t sure anyone is going to tell her who she is.

Xandorus Altadorian: the son of a King of a micronation occupied by Kryta and a sorceress who kept him under a spell. Xandorus went on a world domination-bound rampage after being a little shit for years and his memories have since been wiped. He’s a powerful sorcerer but not as powerful as his twin. He used to have a huge crush on Brynnsonia .

Altadramila: Xandorus’ twin sister, she was favored by her sorceress mother but was used by her constantly. She vowed never to be controlled again and uses her magic only her for purposes, which include opening portals for Magical Uber. She’s a lesbian who briefly dated Brynnsonia but they broke up because of Xandorus.

Neithataline: a desert princess who got tired of the intrigues of politics and instead became a lawyer.

Carson Rose: a guardian named after and based on my nephew, Carson

Edgar Grimzerker: an ancient demon who works as a bounty hunter for misbehaving immortals and magical folks who refuse to keep themselves hidden. Hes perpetually drunk , grumpy and bisexual. He has a huge crush on Braum and they’re kinda dating.

Aurithne: a cosplay character of Aurene-branded Caithe

Forgemaster Ornn: a cosplay character of Ornn, the Fire Below the Mountain from League of Legends. He only names things after what they are, as such , his Springer is Springer and his hammer is Hammer.

Eeveenia: a character inspired by my partner Eevee from Lets Go. Eevee is one of my favorite Pokemon ever.

Embriene: a broke noblewoman from Elona who enjoys luxuries she can’t afford such as emeralds and silks to keep up appearances. Named after my paragon Embrienne from GW1.

Shiedayn: a scythe-wielding Sylvari who just wants friends but is a major edgelord and melodramatic. Wistirya shot him in the leg because she got paranoid about him but he definitely wanted to get to know her before that. He hopes to reconnect with her but she avoids him.

Hello! Sorry to bother but I'd like to ask if you know how emblems work in rwby? The Schnee emblem gets passed down from generation to generation but how about the others? Tai has a different emblem than Yang, if i can recall correctly. Do people make their own or do they already have it once they are born? If weiss and blake ever tie the knot, would they merge their emblems or just have different ones?

Shit, we’re getting into headcanon territory, because there is no canon explanation for the emblems. Strap in, because this is going to get long, but damnit am I fond of my ridiculous headcanons, and I’m considering this an open door to talk about them for a minute. Here are my thoughts on the whole shebang.

Alright, now, while we haven’t gotten a concrete explanation for it in canon, there’s a lot of things we can base conjectures on; now, unfortunately, my personal headcanons got jossed in V4, because Qrow’s semblance is just so left field. However, the theory I operate under is that the war that was fought eighty-some years ago not only explains the “color rule”, but also provides a basis for the emblems and semblances.

The entire crux of the conflict revolved around individuality and personal expression. Names, semblances, and emblems are all directly tied to that. The Schnees, or perhaps just Jaques in particular, supported the side that frowned upon such expressions of individuality, which is why the current generation of Schnees all share emblems, semblances, and similar naming conventions (all starting with ‘W’ and having different ‘i’ vowel sounds in their names)(I’m aware this may or may not apply to Whitshit, but it’s also not been shown that it doesn’t, so he’s essentially a blank slate and we have Winter and Weiss as evidence that this holds water). This extremely inhibits their individual expression through normal means and we see that conflict reflected in Weiss’ character arc across the Volumes, struggling to be her own person and get out of her father’s control. Meanwhile, at the opposite end, we have the only other (mostly) full family to compare: the Xiao Longs/Branwens/Roses. Qrow, Raven, Taiyang, Yang, and Ruby all have completely unique names (although Qrow and Raven share a theme, due to being twins, which I think is a cute touch), semblances (more on this in a minute), and emblems (again, Qrow’s and Raven’s are related). Obviously, these lineages were on the winning side of the war, and they continue the tradition they fought so hard to win. Through Taiyang, Yang, and Ruby, we can see that families tend to share certain aspect in common even if they support(ed) the individuality side of the war. Because of this, I’d say it’s safe to assume emblems are adopted at some point, probably around the time a semblance emerges or at puberty as a cultural rite of passage for teenagers. Everything else is open for interpretation, though.

The design is probably created based in part on input from the individual destined to bear it and also family traditions. I would say it’s highly likely that Yang’s resembles Taiyang’s but shares little in common with Raven’s and Summer’s due to her estranged nature with her blood mother and perhaps some lingering doubts over whether Summer truly considered her a daughter or not. So, instead of simply copying her father’s design, Yang added the flames at the top as stylized extensions of the prongs on Taiyang’s design, inspired by her semblance. Ruby’s design is likely based on Summer’s (whom I assume would have a white rose of some sort) and Yang’s, perhaps as a sign that she wasn’t particularly close to Taiyang due to his depression after Summer’s passing and saw Yang as a surrogate mother, taking the rose and flames without copying the heart design. This sort of mutation over several generations would maintain unique designs expressing individuals while still holding enough common basis to link family members. (So, if you’re big into researching family histories or whatnot, this would be an added dimension to explore within the world of Remnant, and I think that’s kinda neat.)

I also think people tend to keep the same emblem throughout their lives. Think of it as a way to reaffirm who you are within the RWBY-verse; your parents give you a name that makes you an individual (or, if you’re a Schnee or member to a similarly minded family, confirms you as a scion of your lineage) and you choosing your emblem is your way of taking control of your identity. Although you might grow and change as the years pass, you’d probably keep the same design, except maybe making small changes to reflect certain obstacles. In a lot of ways, I think Taiyang having his emblem tattooed on his arm is no coincidence; emblems are somewhat fixed, the same way tattoos are, but you can always add or remove from them, if that’s your choice. Considering the trials and tribulations ahead of Weiss and Blake, I think they would continue to bear the marks they chose, as a sign that they’re proud of the challenges they’ve overcome and don’t regret their decisions, even the ones that were wrong at the time. Blake would do it because she’s learned so much from her younger days and she doesn’t want to forget those past mistakes; Weiss would keep it because she had no choice in the matter but now she owns it, and she won’t run from the difficult hand she was dealt. However, as with everything pertaining to a person’s identity, they could choose to change to something that fits them better over time; I just personally don’t see either of them doing so.

Were Blake and Weiss to ever tie the knot, I feel it’s safe to say that they would break the Schnee tradition of maintaining the strict control over individual expression and encourage their children to design unique emblems for themselves. I think it would be extremely likely that at least one child (most likely the first born, but perhaps the second or third depending) would merge their emblems together, with the middle third of Blake’s emblem (the central dot and top leaf) serving as the center and the Schnee’s snowflake points surrounding it, or some other manner of combination that would show distinct ties to both parents. Perhaps taking Blake’s emblem and stylizing the points of the leaves to mimic the Schnee snowflake and adding more leaves, making the design symmetrical- those sorts of alterations.

I think this goes for semblances as well; although the Schnees have “hereditary semblances”, I think any children Blake and Weiss have would be capable of creating unique semblances, although they will likely still be able to summon and generate glyphs. Again, I default to the only other example of closely related individuals we have: the Branwens. Now, Qrow’s semblance throws this theory out, unfortunately, but I have been working under the assumption that all semblances are hereditary, just in a different manner than what we understand the term to mean.

Without clear evidence of Qrow’s semblance (V1-3), Raven and Yang are the only ones we’ve seen, and though their semblances manifest in strikingly different ways, they share a common theme: damage redirection. While Yang internalizes the damage she suffers and deals it back tenfold, Raven can apparently create wormhole-like portals that would redirect projectiles and could even deflect blows depending on how she can control them. In the V3 fight against Winter, Qrow also displayed signs of damage redirection (although I guess we’re going with the canon explanation of ‘bad luck’), seeing as several times when Winter attacks, the force appears to not hit Qrow but does damage his surroundings. (There’s also a moment after one of these particular attacks where there’s a sound effect and an animation tick with Qrow’s eyes; it’s a blink and you miss it thing, but damn did it stand out when, in the very next episode, they talk about hereditary semblances and there’s only one character who has something happen to her eyes when her semblance is active, and she just so happens to be related to Qrow.) With these three examples, we have three semblances that share a common theme but do so in different ways: Yang internalizes damage to redirect it while Raven and Qrow externalize damage to redirect it, which again is in keeping with the twin theme and keeping their individuality distinct but closely related. This is also in keeping with Yang’s characterization as being the Team Mom and a caring individual; she would be the type to internalize her own negative feelings for others’ benefit. This is how an individual’s personality affects their semblance and how it manifests. Yang’s child(ren) would likely retain this damage redirection theme but would develop it in a way that’s unique to them. I think it’s also highly likely that Ruby’s semblance comes in part from Taiyang, as Ruby’s speed is a lot like Yang’s strength, both being amplified while their semblances are active, whereas the appearance of rose petals probably comes from Summer’s side of the family. (If not the petals, then perhaps the way her semblance seems to affect her cloak/cape, seeing as that’s something Summer also wore. Because this is a hereditary, Ruby wouldn’t need first hand knowledge on how her mother’s semblance manifested to portray a certain aspect of it.) Again, because of the emphasis on children choosing their own path in expressing their individuality, Yang and Ruby have unique semblances that appear to share nothing in common, but would likely have a small thread connecting them.

The Schnees, on the other hand, have an overtly ‘hereditary’ semblance due to the emphasis on stifling individuality and following in the footsteps of those who came before. Weiss can summon not because Winter can summon but because she was raised believing that she was supposed to be able to summon. Same thing with the glyphs; Winter and Weiss share these traits because they were raised from a very young age to believe that’s what they’re meant to be able to do, rather than discovering their abilities on their own. In this manner, I think Weiss’ child(ren) would be still be capable of summoning (because it would take more than a single generation of “Schnees can summon” to fade into obscurity) but wouldn’t be able to perfectly replicate Winter and Weiss’ style of summoning, because Weiss wouldn’t raise them to believe that was all they were capable of doing. (In a way, it’s like the old story about tying elephants with ropes, if that helps.) I also think this in part explains why Weiss initially had difficulties summoning, but that’s another story.

All of this also happens to be my basis for the conflict between Qrow and Winter that’s referenced in V3. Being old enough to have likely learned about her family’s/father’s thoughts on the war, Winter likely actively chose to rebel against her father and his controlling manner, embracing the ideals of the winning side. That’s why she specifically became a Specialist- to be a unique asset out of many, to literally be ‘special’ in a way that her father/family would revile. Qrow, on the other hand, has seen first hand what damages a complete lack of control generate: Raven and the pain she’s caused Taiyang and Yang. I think V4 kinda confirmed her as being something of a loose canon, concerned about her own interests and little else, which probably caused a bit of resentment in Qrow. He would probably come to see such encouragements for a person to do what they wished as inherently flawed advice and want to see a bit more control, someone actively discouraging a person from doing things with the expectation that they’ll listen and not fight about it, essentially supporting the ideals that were defeated in the war. At some point, Winter and Qrow crossed paths and the war came up, at which point they found each other being unable to see the other’s point of view despite having historical reasons to agree with each other. It also lends a bit more context to Qrow’s line “you specialists think you’re so special” and Winter’s reply of “it’s in the name”; he’s demeaning her idea that being special somehow makes her better than her father whereas she’s pointing out how, as a Schnee, she’s already better than him for not following him into the SDC. However, just as many years ago, neither side is willing to bend and instead fight to resolve their differences (which they can’t).

Anyway, that’s way more than you asked and mostly useless because it relies on continuity that isn’t present, but those are the ‘rules’ I operate under when creating/writing characters and fics within RWBY’s universe.

Fanfic Announcement/OC Bio.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I’ll be working on a RWBY multi-chap fic titled, “Meeting you was fate, falling for you was unexpected.” It will be about one of my RWBY OCS and a character from canon (I’m not spoiling who yet and before anyone asks, it’s no one from Team RWBY) and will focus on their relationship and their perspective on events starting from vol 2 and onward. I’ve already started planning it out and I want to get the first chapter out as soon as I can!

However I also wanted to share some info on the OC in question, Olwen Kunik. I’m only sharing a bit of info because I don’t want to share too much, due to spoilers for my fic. If you guys have any questions about my OC or the fic, my inbox is always open! More info under the cut.

Name: Olwen Kunik.

Name Meaning:

Olwen; of Welsh origin meaning, “white footprint.”

Kunik; based from the cub of the same name from the Inuit legend, “The Woman and Her Bear.”

Alias: Queen of the Cold, Aurora Berserker.

Inspiration: Her character was partially inspired by the Inuit legend, “The Woman and Her Bear.” You can find a link to the story here.

Gender: Cis Female.

Race: Faunus (species: half-polar bear and half-wolverine/her entire left forearm is that of a polar bear with her paw having a posable thumb, an albino wolverine tail, a thin layer of extra body fat, keen sense of smell and night vision.)

Handedness: Ambidextrous.

Symbol: It’s a tribal styled polar bear head, with a ferocious facial expression and a diamond shape in the background. The entire thing is polar white, with an arctic blue outline.

Weapon(s): Subzero Demon’s Carnage: Aguta Phawen – Twin battle axes, the handles metallic, but they look like they’re made of wood and are dark brown, the blades are arctic grey, and the cutting edge of both axes are icy blue and see through. At the top of each axe, there’s a diamond shaped tip and they’re also icy blue and see through. Chains are concealed within the handles and can extend. The diamond tips can be used to grapple onto objects and bring enemies closer for quicker kills. Both axes can be thrown like a boomerang, which will always come back to Olwen because it can recognize her heat signature. You can load dust cartridges into the end knob. However, since Olwen had decided to fuse ice dust into her own body it’s not something that gets used often. When not in use, the blades retract into the handle.

Semblance: Thick Fat – It cuts the damage dealt from cold attacks by 75% and hot attacks by 50%. Outside of battle, the user can resist harsh temperature environments (e.g. scorching deserts or freezing arctic tundras). When her aura level reaches zero, the semblance is negated. However, she’ll still have a 25% resistance to the cold because of the thin layer of extra body fat. But she’ll have no resistance to heat and must be careful in certain situations.

Team: DMNO (pronounced as domino). Not going to share who her teammates are right now because I want to keep it a surprise! Also this team was something my sibling and I collaborated on.

Personality: She’s confident, but not cocky, snarky, always quick to make a joke, however she can be quite caring, a very loyal individual, she tries to see the good in everyone, but acknowledges when someone is too far gone to change, isn’t afraid to jump headfirst into a situation, can think quickly on her feet, can be a bit troublesome.

Likes: MEAT (her absolute favourite is anything pork related), fish (her favourite is salmon), cola, working out/training, swimming, meditating, listening to music (heavy metal and punk rock are her favourite genres), piercings, tattoos, hunting, reading (she loves a good horror story or stories about survivalists the best).

Before the world knew it, a young man was on the cover of a popular magazine. His dark blue jeans on his lower body has he sat on a podium, his right leg bent and perched on it to show off white designer sneakers. A casual black shirt was worn under an open white flight jacket with a long black stripe that ran down the arms that matched the metallic black zipper.

Circle shades hung low off his face to show his pretty blue eyes but the real accessory was his joyful open smile as the photographer caught him mid laugh.

Veronica has been staring at this cover page for a solid eight minutes.

Yang:Sweetie if you don’t blink soon I’m concerned you might want to eat the paper.

Blake:Let her have a moment.

Okay questions

1. When did Jaune and Weiss know they were falling in love with each other and who confessed first?

2. How come they kept their relationship a secret from the rest of the group? Who was the one to catch on that they were dating?

3. What Was the first date like? I feel like Jaune would be really nervous and really want it to be perfect lmao.

This should be a simple question, but I write a lot of aus and stuff so I don’t know where you’re pulling from lol.

If it’s Twin Snowflakes, they started talking when they got to Atlas and kept it to themselves because there was enough world and team drama; plus they were testing the waters. They only got “caught” after they moved in together and Weiss casually kissed him before he left for a mission, forgetting everyone else in the room.

Streamer Au has their friends know they’re dating; just not their community. They know Weiss has a boyfriend and that’s it.

In both cases, it’s a dinner date and time out and about in town. Of course Jaune was fairly nervous but got comfortable as it went on. Meanwhile Weiss slowly got more smitten as the date continued being really pleasant and fun.

I’ve probably written their “first date” and other stuff like 15 times by now lol. My favorite is the care date.

Twin Snowflakes Master Post

Here it is! Years of chaos in one spot! Technically this isn’t all the posts but everything I think is really important, worth mentioning, or pretty helpful. They are in chronological order! I want to give the hugest thank you to @danurso for already having a file with all the story chapter links for me to grab! I wouldn’t have made this post any time soon without them.

I would like to add that I started writing this near the end of Volume 6 and had the vast majority of the structure all done as V7 Ep1 aired. In other words, certain concepts and people are around before canon said “Haha, screw you.” One last thing, in the actual chapters, the writing style changes further in. Like I said, I’ve been writing this for 4 years.
