this is so cool. went to a bookstore w some friends yesterday and we found a loose LAMY in the stationery section (weirdly, no other LAMYs in sight so it was prob old stock) we found the empty box under the little kiosk (hooray for using my cane to fish stuff outta there) the barrel was nowhere to be found. I just grabbed the thing cus I figured the other half already got swept up and tossed (this was a big chain bookstore so I don't think they'd care)

found a replacement barrel online already (it was like 5bucks plus shipping so yippee) cheapest LAMY I ever got!

I really wanted to go to the musical instrument museum in Brussels but I didn't have time :( the house of European history is also really interesting as long as you don't get one of the noon tours

y'know whenever I get a recommendation or learn about something new to do/visit in Belgium, it reminds me of an article I read back in the '00s. apparently Belgium is consistently voted as the most boring country in Europe — and honestly I found that intriguing ! like, I'm not a particularly excitable or high-energy person, so a "boring" place actually sounds idyllic !! for a time, this was the main reason I wanted to visit the country lol (of course after studying French and Dutch/Flemish, and after joining langblr and meeting some wonderful Belgians, those became the primary motivations for wanting to visit)

but now every time I learn something interesting about Belgium, my first reaction is "well, that's not boring at all !" and I can't help but wonder what the methodology or criteria are for decided a country is boring ?

i've hit a very annoying roadblock in my playthrough of heartgold (got my shit kicked in by lance's stupid dragonite bc i was a bit underleveled), so now i've decided that maybe i should grind my team up to level 55 actually. not only to evolve my pupitar, but also bc dear fucking lord i need megahorn on my fucking heracross why is her only level up bug type move megahorn and why does she not learn it until level 55-

As a fellow fiber crafter (I crotchet), how do you make your 4 in minis? And are you free handing them or altering a preexisting pattern? They look lovely btw.

Well, I started with a pre-existing pattern, and I've altered and freehanded bits and pieces as I went.

The source of the pattern is actually a book of knit animal patterns! I got really, really into knitting tiny animals several years back, and ended up getting multiple installments in the series. The one I've been referencing most for this is "Mini Knitted Farmyard" by Sachiyo Ishii. It's got the base pattern for the person, which I've altered as I liked, as well as for boots, vest, hats, and more. I've been combining these and altering them to best suit the character in question.

Other stuff, though. . . the Octokittens, I combined a pattern off of Ravelry and one for mini octopuses from the same series (different book). The raccoon was also a pattern from that author (again from a different book). Raph's wings came from a fairy pattern in the series, and so on. Different stuff like that!

And then your first question: most of the dolls are entirely knit, with a bit of embroidery to bring them together. There's been a few that have crochet bits (like Jonny's belts, the design on Raph's wings, or Michael's fingers).

imm not sure!! but i will say my first ever shiny (kakuna in black), my first legendary (cobalion in ultra sun), and my first masuda method (miltank in sun) have special places in my heart <3

drifloon has a super cool shiny and yknow what!! it was my first mass outbreak shiny in arceus and i wasnt even hunting, i just wanted to see what the outbreak was abt and a shiny popped up !

Also drifloon holds my current record for longest sr hunt bc i wanted the valley windworks one in bdsp and it took 9,893 resets !!! but it was worth it bc i cheated cynthia by dying a lot with aftermath >:3c
