gee, tsumugi! how come team danganronpa let you have THREE protagonists??
or as i like to call this drawing "i needed everyone to know that yeah sure i ship them, but also i find the fact that v3 has three characters who are all protagonists in their own separate ways really interesting and i think it's a fun parallel and they're a cool trio. also what if they kissed though"

is there any reason you prefer 🏁🔎 over 🔎🏁?
answer: ouma spends a not insignificant amount of effort throwing himself at saihara in canon (to varying degrees of un/success) so i just like to live in a world where he enjoys the fruits of his labors
more serious answer: his dialogues in main story + FTE + love suite are a constant series of challenges & invitations to saihara, even if saihara doesn't always pick up on or accept them. given that plus saihara's passive nature/general preference to follow versus lead, i think it's easy to see ouma as an initiator in the relationship, as obfuscated and overly engineered as his methods are... intention matters quite a bit to ouma, whose whole thing is parsing meaning from uncertainty. so in more benign situations where there's space to build trust and verify interest (salmon mode) he goes all in, and backs off when he can't (love hotel).
even less serious answer: it's cute when the top is the short one

Self Care Day with the V3 Boys!
Because taking care of yourself is important, loves 😌
Shuichi Saihara
You want him to have a self care day with you? He has a lot of stuff to do... well, okay. Sure!
Blushes when you apply the mask to his face.
Jumps at first because it's cold.
Smiles bashfully, cheeks red, while applying yours to your face.
While that's drying, you guys put on a movie quietly and just talk.
Sometimes it's nice to just be together :)
Kaito Momota
Pls he's so excited when you ask him 😭
Wants to make it perfect
He literally puts so much effort in
He's got candles, he puts on calm music, grabs your favorite snacks and drinks, he's got movies lined up, face masks and lotions are already on the table.
Please let him put yours on you 😭
Lowkey wants to cuddle you and watch a rom com. Please do that with him.
He will also slow dance with you. Music or no music.
Ryoma Hoshi
What's that? Taking care of yourself? He's never heard of it.
He'd be rather against the idea of putting anything on his face, but he would absolutely keep you company while you do your self care routine.
If you beg him, he'd probably sigh and let you put a face mask on him.
"If it makes you happy, I guess you can."
You can probably convince him to lay down with you and watch tv, too.
You guys talk about anything and everything.
He could get used to these "self-care days".
Gonta Gokuhara
Smiles and happily agrees to spend time with you. That's Gonta's favorite thing to do!
You want to put a face mask on him? Okay!
Flinches because it's cold 🥺
He really likes the way it smells.
Wants to help you do yours, too!
He will ask you about your day. Not just to make small talk, he really wants to know!
Tell him stories or ask about his day in return and he will smile so wide.
Kiibo
He's a robot, so you probably don't need to put anything on his face. It may damage the metal!
But he will keep you company, if you'd like!
He will offer you suggestions on other things you can do to relax.
"Candles offer a relaxing atmosphere. You may also take a warm bath or get a massage!"
Will probably offer a massage, despite being made of metal.
Surprisingly does a really good job, tho.
Korekiyo Shinguji
Speaking of massages,,
This man is a massage GOD.
He somehow gets knots loose that you didn't even know were there in the first place.
He delicately applies the peeling mask to your face, leaning in extra close to make sure he gets it all.
Chuckles when you blush from the close proximity.
Will also braid your hair. If you have short hair, he gently brushes it for you.
This man knows about self care.
Rantaro Amami
He's so good at this.
If you ask him to paint your nails, he will light up. He would love to!!
Especially if you're nervous/embarrassed. He adores when you're flustered.
You're just so cute~
He will tease the living shit out of you.
He will also do face masks with you!
When you tell him you need a self-care day, he absolutely takes it seriously.
You two listen to quiet music and talk about your talent, his adventures, media you like, anything and everything.
Kokichi Ouma
First of all, why would you think this is a good idea?
Self care and this little gremlin do not mix. Self care is supposed to be calm and relaxing, and Ouma is, well, the exact opposite of that.
I think the best thing he can do for you on self care days is just... leave you alone, to be honest.
But if he's around, here's what he'll do:
He asks about everything you do. What it is, why you use it, what does it do, can he try it?
Tells you that you look funny with a face mask on, then asks if he can use some, too.
Wants to put on a sheet mask and hide somewhere to scare Gonta.
You have to keep him from doing that.
Hope you enjoyed this! I had a self care day today and it inspired me to write this lil thing! Take care of yourselves!! 💖

More on my Bizarre V3 AU
Welp, you voted for it. I decided to do this on a character-by-character basis. Watch out! Direct and indirect V3 spoilers ahead!
Shuichi Saihara: The sort-of protagonist of this story (although there's meant to be focus on a multitude of characters,) and runs a local detective agency. His plot begins with him getting multiple cases on disappearances, reappearances, and displacements, which all seem to be somehow connected. Harbors a crush on Kaede.
Kaito Momota: The self-proclaimed "Luminary of the Stars" and a young man attempting to become an astronaut, although is waiting on his application to come back after multiple attempts to submit a fake application, including in his teenage years. Runs multiple gigs and odd jobs, including one at Shuichi's detective agency. He calls Shuichi his "sidekick," despite the fact that it tends to be the other way around. Another job he has is as a babysitter, putting him in contact with other babysitters for larger groups of children as a result.
Kaede Akamatsu: A pianist that plays at large theaters and is commissioned for her work at restaurants, parties, plays, etc. Harbors a crush on Shuichi and eventually assists him in his detective work as the case grows larger and more connections are made. As more information is obtained on the case from both Shuichi and others, she ends up getting captured repeatedly by DICE, although she's treated surprisingly well in captivity. Has also had multiple run-ins with Miu Iruma, none of which Kaede likes to talk about.
Miu Iruma: Inventor and multi-talented engineer commissioned by various groups for devices. Kaito occasionally works as an assistant in her lab as one of his gigs/odd jobs, especially since Miu often gets commissioned for designs from the space agency Kaito applied for. Is unnaturally flexible and elastic. Has another long-term assistant in the form of Kiibo.
Kiibo: A mysteriously high-tech android currently working as an assistant at Miu's laboratory. Hired Shuichi to look for Professor Idabashi, the man who supposedly created him, but the case has unfortunately gone cold. Will have more relevance in season 2 as more on Professor Idabashi is revealed.
Maki Harukawa: A babysitter that despite her sinister nature, is really good with kids. Actually an assassin working for an organization that is essentially the world's military, and her current target is the ex-convict Ryoma Hoshi. Would rather be a babysitter, despite saying that she doesn't like kids. Secretly harbors a crush on Kaito Momota after multiple conversations while the two of them cared for the same group of kids. Has an unnatural degree of control over her body and some of her targets have their bodies warped or downright blown-up.
Ryoma Hoshi: A tennis player and prisoner formerly on death row for massacring a mafia for killing everyone he knew, released by and put under the protection of DICE, who want him to join the organization. Was put on a hitlist by the military organization Maki works for solely because of his destructive capabilities, including superhuman speed and reflexes, despite his lack of will to live, which DICE correctly concluded makes him harmless.
Kokichi Oma: The enigmatic leader of DICE, a criminal organization known for pranks, thievery of all sorts, and being averse to killing. Abhors killing, as his organization suggests, and one of the current goals of both him and DICE in general are to prevent the assassination of Ryoma Hoshi. Became a babysitter to gather information on Maki and hamper her assassination attempts, meeting Katio and eventually Shuichi in the process. Repeatedly flirts with both Kaito and Shuichi. Has a bizarre relationship with Miu, where they're both openly hostile to eachother despite DICE using plenty of Miu's inventions and Miu never retaliating against DICE aside from insulting their leader. Known to seemingly shift into the shadows and is said that a black smoke cloud is a sign of him being near.
Gonta Gokuhara: The heir of the rich Gokuhara family of well-acclaimed botanists and only survivor after the rest of the family mysteriously died over the years. Attempts to combine his entomology knowledge with the family business of botany, to effective results. Said to be able to communicate with a variety of animals, especially insects. Is currently looking for an odd blue glowing dragonfly he saw once at night, being assisted by his maid, Kirumi Tojo.
Kirumi Tojo: The sole maid and only other inhabitant of the Gokuhara manor. Her responsibilities include cooking, cleaning, bodyguarding, managing the vegetation growing in and around Gokuhara manor, and other services for her master, Gonta, including helping to find an odd blue glowing dragonfly he saw one night. Is actually a government agent working directly under the president/prime minister to monitor and protect the last member of the Gokuhara family as well as find this blue dragonfly to keep it out of anyone else's hands. Seems to always carry cleaning supplies and odd string on hand, even if it's unsure where she got them from. Has an uncannily good instinct and ability to read other people, as well as various convenient things happening when she's around, such as inexplicable strikes of lightning or the the plants of Gokuhara manor surviving longer and growing more flowers and fruits despite no change to their upkeep. Said to have a really good singing voice.
Himiko Yumeno: A talented magician and self-proclaimed mage that performs in both large shows and small birthday parties. As a child, she once touched a mysterious glowing blue flower that supposedly gave her her "magic powers". Likes visiting the local artist-priestess for weekly sermons. Has an assistant and bodyguard in the form of Tenko Chabashira.
Tenko Chabashira: The bodyguard, assistant, and lover(?) of Himiko Yumeno, protecting her from threats male and female alike. Practices "Neo-Aikido," an aggressive variant of aikido that takes elements from both athletic and professional wrestling. She's very protective of Himiko, verging on overprotective at times. Thinks a lean long-haired man is stalking both her and Himiko and doesn't trust the artist-priestess Himiko likes so much. Is unnaturally flexible and elastic.
Angie Yonaga: An artist and high priestess spreading the word of a new freeform monotheistic religion of a god that goes by many names that cares for all of their creations, even if it doesn't seem like that at first or in odd ways, and uses humans like her as vessels to spread the word as oracles and priests. Her weekly sermons include her preaching the religion's ideals and beliefs, praying, art activities, and blood donations.
Korekiyo Shinguji: A traveling anthropologist with a slight lean towards folklore that studies cultures from big and popular to small and secluded. Is especially curious about what are known as the "seven holy essences," seven colorful items that take many forms, as well as several smaller, lesser essences. Both the main seven and the lesser essences are said to grant powers and wishes and appeared in a variety of cultures all over. Joins in Angie's sermons due to the interest in her religion and its ideals. Is also planning on becoming a serial killer to give his recently-deceased sister 100 friends, and has found his first target.
Rantaro Amami: A drifter looking for his twelve sisters as well as some item known as "Mercury," which he believes to have caused at least one of his sisters' disappearances. Used to be the green ranger in version 2 of the government-sponsored "Star-Hunter Squadron: Elite Rangers" and the only member that is known to be alive or at the very least safe. Doesn't like Tsumugi Shirogane.
Tsumugi Shirogane: An ordinary girl that likes fiction and cosplay and works at a clothing store.

───── ✩ SHUICHI
🗯️ ❭ ❭  within his vision is a figure who casually moves with their shoes chained to the skating board below them. while watching your movements; he notes that they’re lively. while watching your face; he notes a smile is painted on your expression, and the glint in your eyes are beaming. yet even when the sparkle of your eyes blind him severely, he can see the internal serenity that grounds you. you’re so fucking cool.
❕   he is pretty intimidated by you. even if your aura is as calm as the gentle waves of the oceans, he’ll always find himself stuttering in front of your face— he’ll sometimes feel his fingers grasping at his cloth for minutes and minutes— and most of the time, his eyes just can never stay on you.
❕    it can be easy to find out why he’s intimidated. you don’t always miss the small gasps and the mumbles formed from shock when he sees you skating. you don’t always miss his irises flicking away with an adored expression when you dump some skater-knowledge on him.
❕   he can be so insecure. there is going to be a pang of jealousy, though rather small, at first. people are so impressed by your talent, you deserve your talent. he feels the negative thoughts and jealousy developing; yet brighter feelings are so much higher when it comes to socializing with you.
❕    even with his shock and worried mumbles, you can hear admiration. you don’t only hear it; but you can see it. within his eyes, you see someone who feels your passion from the way you speak about skating tricks, skating slang, skating stories, and more about skating. slowly by time, he doesn’t just bring up skating a few times just because he doesn’t know what else to say; he wants to hear you talk about it. your passion when it comes to skating is just as cool as when you’re actually on a skating board.
❕   though he’ll never forget his anxiety when you’re on the board; even when you’re casually skating next to him as he’s walking besides you. he’ll gladly shut up for the whole trip, no matter how much he’d want to talk with you, so then you can focus on riding if you’re on the pavement (or sometimes on the street).
❕   poor dude just would hate seeing you hurt— especially when your profession relies on your physical well being. if your presence calm down enough, he may just not overthink to an extreme amount to the point of being so anxious seeing you skate. or you can just hold his hand.
❕   this dude is internally beating his ass when you get hurt from skating. you fell and scraped your knee? broke an ankle? sprained a leg? he’ll make sure that you’re all better— if you’re in the hospital, he’ll stay with you as long as you want him to. he’ll try to calm down your panic if you are panicking, even if he’s panicking way more than you.
❕   IN THE SKATEPARK, his eyes is hooked on you. i mean, they always were— but now his presence just seems to have an… affect on you. it’s most likely a positive affect. he notes you’re doing more tricks that are risky in front of him; he notes a different type of joy that he’s never seen before. he just can’t help but smile at the fact that maybe— maybe his happiness and adoration is making you feel happy.
❕   hangs out at the skatepark just hit different to shuichi. as typical as it is, he’ll feel happiness or calmness when the two of you hang out. but its more impactful. the happy moments feel like they’ve been going on for days; the calm moments feel like the two of you own the world.
❕   the skatepark is where you vent about your life; you may hint about possible trauma, might outright talk about your trauma or the origins of any trauma you may have. the skatepark is where the two of you lean against each other and watch random videos on his phone just to pass time. the skatepark is where you both talk about the history and culture of your passion. the skatepark is where the both of you had your first hug (and maybe a kiss too if you’re into that).
❭ ❭ “ah… um, is this safe? please uh, be careful… w-wait…! uh, oKAY—”
“shuichi, you didn’t even move yet,” you retort, while watching his eyes capture the vision of your skating board beneath his shoes. he’s a bit of a puss, but for the right reasons.
❕  he decides that the possibility of him riding a skateboard is low. sure, he loved feeling his hand grasp yours tightly, and your arm gently wrapping around his torso to calm and guide him… but that was one of the few times he’s felt so anxious. nope. nope. nope. though, at least you had enjoyment from being a funky teacher for a day.
you’re so cool. and no matter if your personality doesn’t fit the definition of the general meaning of “cool”, he’ll never get enough of you. you’re always cool to him, even during your soft moments. you’re so fucking cool. so inspirational. you’re the best person he’s ever looked up to. you can be one of the bestest friends he’s had, or the greatest lover he’ll ever need.

★ this oneshot was originally a part of a series i was planning of making ultimate skateboarder!reader x DRV3 boys (+ possibly too girls after writing the boys). i haven't finished the rest of the boys, but the next one I was going to write was Kokichi, before the lack of motivation destroyed me. I'm actually lowkey interested with this ultimate skateboarder!reader concept. so if I do end up continuing the series, the next one will be Kokichi (ofc). toodles :P

A/N: This story was written for @faruun for the DRV3 Summer Gift Exchange 2023 run by @drv3giftexchangeclub. I really loved your prompts, and I hope you will like this story. Cheers!!💕
A smile tugged at Shuichi’s mouth as he watched Kaede sigh at the glass case of ice cream. As she hummed thoughtfully, her brow furrowed, and she bit down slightly on her bottom lip, a sure sign that she was deep in thought and concentration. Shuichi’s smile widened. He had always found something delightful and, dare he even admit it, adorable in her concentrating expression, so he felt almost guilty for interrupting her with a gentle, “Please pick out whatever you’d like. It’s my treat.”
Kaede chuckled lightly, before turning to him with a bright smile. “I’m not sure how I’ll decide.”
“I’m not sure how any of us are supposed to decide when all the ice cream has been dyed strange and unnatural colors,” Maki added dryly with a slight huff.
“What are you talking about Maki-Roll?” asked Kaito with a curious tilt of his head as he draped his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulder and peered into the case. Maki frowned but the flush of pink in her cheeks wasn’t lost on Shuichi. Kaede must have noticed as well since she politely stifled a laugh and shot Shuichi a knowing glance. He knew that she must be thinking the same thing: it was sweet that Maki still got a little flustered around Kaito even though they had been together for months now.
However, Shuichi couldn’t help but wonder if Kaede was also thinking about them and their own relationship—wondering how long it would take until he stopped blushing every time she held his hand or he called her by her first name. He was still getting used to that and slipped up occasionally, falling back into his old, more formal habits of using her surname. Luckily, there wasn’t a nickname or term of endearment she wanted him to use like Kaito and his “Maki-Roll.” Shuichi was fairly certain he would never get a term of endearment out of his mouth—he would be far too shy or embarrassed, and she probably knew that. That said, her face lit up every time he called her Kaede as if she had never truly appreciated how beautiful a name it was until he said it.
“Woah, you’re right,” exclaimed Kaito pulling Shuichi out of his thoughts. “That’s some wild ice cream.”
“Fun, isn’t it?” cackled Kokichi from behind the ice cream counter. Shuichi sighed. DICE’s Ices had the best shaved ice and ice cream in town which, Shuichi reminded himself, made it the perfect place for a double date even if the frozen treats were always served with a side of Kokichi’s pranks and antics, especially in the summers when he practically lived at his family’s shop. “It was Gonta’s idea.”
“No, it was yours,” said Gonta with a tilt of his head that upset the colorful hat he had to wear as part of his uniform. “Gonta not smart enough to come up with idea like that.”
Kaede gently reached across the counter to reassuringly pat his hand. “Aww don’t say things like that Gonta.”
“Yeah, no one knows as much about bugs as you do,” encouraged Kaito.
Even Kokichi chimed in with, “Things would certainly be boring around here without you” which was probably as much of a verbal declaration of friendship as Shuichi had ever heard from him. With a hum, Kokichi stretched his arms above his head, then sighed. “But yes, Gonta’s right. That was a lie. It was my idea to dye the ice cream.” He held up his hands as a gesture of confession, but they all just blinked at him.
“Yes, we know,” said Maki, seemingly, unamused, and Kokichi pouted at her.
“Oh come on, you weren’t even fooled for a little bit?”
“No.”
“I kind of was,” shrugged Kaito, though Shuichi was fairly certain he was just being generous.
“Don’t encourage him,” Maki huffed with a shake of her head.
“Aww don’t be such a stick in the mud,” bantered Kokichi with a crooked smile. “This is supposed to be fun. I thought it would be a good way to drum up business during this nasty cold snap we’ve been having.”
Shuichi’s brow furrowed. He hadn’t thought about how this recent cold weather had been affecting local businesses, especially ones that banked on hot summer days for a lot of their annual revenue.
“This cold weather has been unexpected,” said Kaede with a tilt of her head. “We were planning to go to the beach after we got ice cream today but decided it was too chilly.”
“That’s too bad,” hummed Kokichi though Shuichi couldn’t help but wonder if he was just being facetious per usual.
Gonta, on the other hand, was incredibly sincere as always and reached out to gently pat Kaede’s hand. “Gonta is sorry and hopes cold weather goes away soon.”
“Hey, don’t look so down in dumps.” interjected Kaito, giving Kaede a friendly pat on the back. “This could be fun. I mean we should just lean into the cold weather and do a bunch of cold activities.”
“What do you mean?” asked Shuichi in confusion.
“Well, you know, we’re already getting ice cream which is cold, and after that, we should do something else that’s cold.” Kaito practically beamed at them with that 100-watt smile of his, clearly proud of himself and his idea, but Maki quirked an eyebrow at him.
“Like what?”
“Hm…” Kaito hummed with thoughtful concentration before his face lit up. “I know! Let’s go to the ice-skating rink.”
Maki’s eyes narrowed. “You want to go ice skating? You can’t skate.”
“Sure I can!” Kaito insisted, but Maki just blinked at him.
“The last time we tried we tried to skate, you had to hold my hand the whole time.”
With a light chuckle, Kaito gave her a lopsided smile and met her eyes. “Maybe I just wanted to hold your hand,” he teased though there was something so affectionate in his expression. Maki’s face flushed red as he reached out to playfully grab her hand. “And maybe I want to hold your hand again.”
Maki’s blush deepened, until her pale cheeks were a bright red, but Kaito just beamed, intertwining their fingers. Awkwardly tugging at one of her pigtails with her free hand, Maki twisted her mouth to one side and looked away from him in a sort of shy but affectionate embarrassment. Kaede chuckled lightly behind her hand, and Shuichi smiled, ignoring the warmth he could feel rising in his own cheeks. He tried to focus on how cute his friends were together rather than on the vivid image that danced through his head of a smiling Kaede taking him by the hand and leading him slowly and carefully around the rink while he could only stare down at his ice skates, flustered and bright red in the face.
“Well, I think that’s a great idea,” chimed Kaede excitedly. “Let’s head there after ice cream.”
“Alright!” exclaimed Kaito. “Let’s order, then head over there.
Maki finally, sheepishly disentangled her hand from his, then huffed at the ice cream case. “That’s easier said than done since all the colors are messed up.” She glared pointedly at Kokichi who pouted at her.
“You’re such a stick in the mud. Just for that I might not let you have any of the fun, colorful ice cream.”
“Good. I don’t want it.”
Kokichi didn’t miss a beat, just laughed then said, “That’s a lie. I’d never deny a paying customer.” He smiled brightly, clearly amused with himself, then in what seemed to be his best impression of a carnival barker said, “Step right up. Pick your favorite color, folks. Be surprised. Live a little.”
Kaito laughed, and even Kaede couldn’t quite hold back a smile, but Maki blinked at him with a deadpan, “I’m getting shaved ice.”
*-*-*
“Mmm…” hummed Kaede as she finished up the last of her ice cream. “I’ve never had watermelon-flavored before. It’s actually really good.”
“I’m glad you like it,” said Shuichi who hadn’t particularly cared for the cotton candy flavor he had unwittingly selected, but he supposed it was alright.
“You have some on your face,” Maki mumbled at Kaito who had somehow gotten chocolate and practically devoured his ice cream cone before they had even left the shop to walk to the nearby ice rink. Kaito’s attempt to wipe the ice cream off of the corner of his mouth, only smeared it across his cheek, which Shuichi began to suspect he had done on purpose when Maki reached out with her thumb to wipe it off for him. Kaito gave her a toothy grin as she twisted her mouth to one side and turned away to throw out her now empty cup of shaved ice.
“That was delicious,” said Kaito with a bright smile. “And I thought Kokichi’s idea to dye the ice cream different colors was actually kind of fun.”
“Just don’t tell him that. He’ll keep doing obnoxious things like this,” huffed Maki, and Shuichi stifled a chuckle, too polite to mention that Kokichi would probably keep pulling these kinds of harmless yet annoying pranks even without encouragement.
Before anyone could say anything more, however, they reached the ice-skating rink, and Kaito made quite the show of opening the door for them, though Shuichi supposed that was mostly for Maki’s benefit. The door jingled as they walked inside only to find the whole place absolutely deserted.
“Eerie…” Kaede mumbled under her breath with a light, awkward chuckle, and Shuichi was inclined to agree with her.
“Ooh customers!” a lithe, tinkly voice called out. Shuichi and his friends turned to the nearby skate rental counter where Tsumugi had suddenly turned her attention from them to her coworker, Rantaro, with a frown. “Wait…how did you make that?”
Rantaro just shrugged, and Shuichi’s brow furrowed as he followed his gaze towards a nearby wastebasket several feet from the skate rental counter. There were several crumbled up wads of paper and around the trashcan and behind the counter was a dry erase board divided in half with “Rantaro” written on one side and “Tsumugi” written on the other. They must be playing a makeshift game to pass the time, Shuichi thought, and he stifled a chuckle by clearing his throat. Judging by the hoards of tally marks on Rantaro’s side of the board, he was winning by a landslide. Though Shuichi supposed there were really no surprises there—Rantaro could do anything.
“Were you trying to distract me?” he asked her dryly. “You know that’s against the rules.”
Tsumugi frowned and huffed at him, but she turned towards Shuichi and his friends with a smile. “What can we do for you today?”
“Oh hey Tsumugi. Hey Rantaro. How’s it going?” asked Kaede brightly.
Shrugging his shoulders, Rantaro replied with easygoing smile, “It’s alright.”
“It could be better,” Tsumugi interrupted. “All this cold weather we’ve been having has been bad for business.”
Rantaro sighed. “It has been kind of boring around here. We’ve been playing trashcan basketball to pass the time.”
“Oh, who’s winning?” asked Kaito with an exuberant interest.
Rantaro shrugged again but glanced over at their makeshift scoreboard before admitting with a genuine humbleness, “I think I am…”
“Show off,” Tsumugi muttered dryly, though Shuichi got the impression it was just a friendly banter.
“Woah, you are really the best at everything you do, huh?” laughed Kaito, seemingly, partially teasing yet partially a little impressed.
“I wouldn’t say that,” Rantaro chuckled lightly, scratching the back of his neck. “But really, how are you guys? I feel like I haven’t seen you all summer—especially you Kaede and we live next door to each other. I don’t even hear your piano anymore,” he teased with a friendly smile.
“Oh,” chuckled Kaede. “I worried I was annoying my family by playing the same song that I’ve been practicing for this upcoming competition over and over, so I’ve been practicing a lot at school instead.”
“I’m kind of relieved to hear that. I was starting to get worried you had given it up,” he bantered before he turned to Shuichi. “What about you, Shuichi? Kaede told me you got a summer internship at a private detective agency.”
Shuichi’s face flushed. Had Kaede really been talking to Rantaro about him? He knew they were good friends and neighbors, but what else had she told him? Hopefully nothing too embarrassing. He tried to push the thought away. “Yeah, I mean, I was mostly just filing things, but it was a good experience—should look good on a resumé.”
“Absolutely, and you know what they say: experience is the best teacher.” Rantaro nodded with a warm, gentle smile that could make anyone feel at ease, though he began his following anecdote with a more mundane, nonchalance than Shuichi felt it warranted. “There was this one time I was backpacking in the Swiss Alps and…”
“We should probably ask them if they need some skates in addition to one of your backpacking stories,” Tsumugi cut him off with a pointed tilt of her head.
“Oh yeah, of course. Sorry about that. It’s been so long since we’ve had a customer around here, I guess I’ve forgotten the protocol”—his mouth twitched into a dry, bantering smile—“one backpacking story for every pair of skates.”
“I bet that’s great for business,” said Kaito as he pointed to the size of his skates. “You have the best stories.”
Rantaro pulled Kaito’s skates off of the shelf with a shrug. “Thanks. Glad you like them. I think Tsumugi is sick of them at this point.”
“I didn’t say that,” she sniffed. “I just didn’t want our customers to have to stand there awkwardly for too long. They’re too nice to cut you off.” She bristled before she turned to Kaede and Maki to ask what size of skates they would like to rent.
It wasn’t long before Shuichi had skates of his own, courtesy of Rantaro who never did finish that backpacking story. He would have to ask him about it later or maybe Kaede would know seeing as he was a close friend of hers. As it was now, however, Shuichi’s friends had made their way towards the rink, and Rantaro and Tsumugi had returned to their intense game of trashcan basketball with polite instructions not to hesitate to call them if they needed anything. Shuichi sighed. Trashcan basketball was actually starting to sound like fun now—more fun than falling on his face on the ice and embarrassing himself in front of Kaede anyway. He swallowed hard just thinking about.
“Are you okay, Shuichi? You’re looking kind of pale…” Kaede turned around to face him with a kind, concerned smile. She had already gracefully glided out onto the ice—perfectly balanced and coordinated just what Shuichi would have expected from her. Kaito and Maki were already skating as well and were nearly halfway across the rink with Kaito laughing all the way while holding on tightly to a blushing Maki’s hand despite her protestations that he could clearly skate just fine without her help.
“Shuichi?” Kaede gently asked again, and Shuichi turned to meet her eyes with a smile.
“I’m alright…just not very good at skating, I’m afraid,” he sheepishly admitted, a tint of rose in his pale cheeks.
Kaede reached out a hand to him with a reassuring, “Oh that’s alright. Why don’t you hold onto my hand for now, and we can skate together until you have a little more practice? I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it in no time.”
As Shuichi gently took her hand, his face burned. He could only hope his palms weren’t too sweaty, but Kaede didn’t seem to mind. Despite the faint flush of rose in her cheeks, she gave him the warmest, brightest smile as she led him out onto the ice. Shuichi’s eyes widened, and he could only blink at her. She was so beautiful it made his heart ache.
The thought only made him all the more embarrassed as he stared down at his skates and shaky legs, struggling to find his balance on the ice. He gripped even more tightly onto Kaede who giggled—bright and tinkly like a music box. “It’s okay. Take your time,” she encouraged him with warm, kind eyes.
Shuichi’s face flushed an even deeper red, but he nodded, taking a deep breath and carefully finding his balance on the slick rink. With a few short, shuffling motions of his feet they were off, gliding—albeit it very slowly—across the ice hand in hand.
Kaede was right. He got the hang of it in no time at all, but still, he held on tightly to her hand not quite ready to let go just yet. Kaede, it seemed, wasn’t ready to let go either, and she gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before she said, “There you go. See, I knew you’d get it.”
“Thank you,” said Shuichi with a slight smile, shyly turning away from her as he gently squeezed her hand in return.
After they had skated around the rink a couple of times, just quietly enjoying each other’s company and the warmth of holding hands, Kaede said, “You know this reminds me of ‘The Skaters’ Waltz.’ Do you know it?”
Shuichi shook his head. “I’m afraid not, but I’d love to hear it someday.”
“I’ll have to play it for you sometime. It’s really beautiful.” Her voice trailed wistfully, and her face lit up as it often did when she talked about music. Shuichi admittedly didn’t know much about it beyond what he had learned from Kaede, but her passion for the piano was positively infectious. He could listen to her talk about it for hours, and when she played for him, he could have sworn it was the most beautiful music he had ever heard.
“I’d like that,” he replied with a shy but affectionate smile. Kaede smiled back.
“It would be nice if we had some music now, don’t you think?”
Almost as if on cue, a soft melody began to play and the lights in the skating rink dimmed with colorful, swirling lights almost dancing across the ice. Kaede gasped in surprise, but a smile tugged at her mouth, and she turned to wave at Rantaro and Tsumugi as they passed by with an excited, “Thank you!”
As Rantaro waved back at them, his mouth curved in a lopsided but kind smile. “Don’t mention it.”
Kaede laughed but turned back to Shuichi with a beaming smile that was so beautiful that something panged in his chest. Despite the chill from the unexpected cold weather and the chilliness of the ice rink, however, he felt so incredibly warm as he gently traced patterns on the back of Kaede’s hand with his thumb, gently leading her farther out onto the ice in a bit of a gliding dance.
The music Rantaro had put on for them swelled—growing louder and louder as Kaede met Shuichi’s eyes. He didn’t have the words to tell her right now—maybe he would someday, but the truth was he didn’t need that background melody. He could hear music every time he looked at her.

Saihara hadn't heard from his purple-haired boyfriend in quite a while. He didn't answer their calls, texts, or the door when they stopped by. His extra key wasn't above the door as it normally was.
It had been a month. One long, lonely month, when suddenly he got a text. It was from Ouma, and it was rather long.
"I'm sorry, Shuuichi. You'll get over me though. I know you will, you're strong! Just...You can forget about me easily! I deserve what I'm about to do. You see- My legs are dangling off the edge, and the bottom of this bottle is my only true friend. I think I'll just...slit my wrist again. Then I'll be gone!<3 You know...A stomach full of pills didn't work again...Boring. But I'm twenty stories up, Shumai! I'm up at the top! And god, that asphalt looks so soft...I think my momma found my letter, probably called the cops...I hear the sirens off in the distance. I GOTTA take this opportunity, before I miss it! Oh, did you know that I've never bought a suit before? But...When you go to meet God, you wanna look nice..? But if I survive, I'll see you tomorrow! Bye-bye."
-@japaneselemonade (lol im sorry 4 the angst but my seasonal affective disorder is slapping my ass/neg)
Saihara was really.. and I mean, really concerned.. one month.. one entire lonely month.. he had been going to where Ouma lived and knocked on the door more times than he could count.. looking for the spare key that Ouma usually had.. only for it not to be there. He’d be lying if he didn’t say he was exhausted from crying.. from so many.. long nights he had spent awake, waiting for a text, a call.. anything.. he hadn’t been doing so good mentally ever since this time period started.. he was starting to lose hope. But, once he had gotten a sudden text, he immediately checked it.. reading it quickly.
His heart sank as he read the long message, his hands began shaking. He knew Ouma went through a lot of things in his life, but.. this was too much. He started frantically typing and typing… god.. he was making so many typos in his texts. He then started to frantically call Ouma, trying to get a hold of him as he started crying again, hiccuping from his soft sobs.

NAEGIRI WEEK Day 7 - Class
It’s the last winter at the academy, and neither Makoto nor Kyoko want to leave the best time of their lives behind with any regrets.
@naegiriweek
Full Story below the cut. You can also find the story on my WattPad - https://www.wattpad.com/1294292024-naegiri-week-2022-creepercraftguy-day-7-class
This was it.
Three years ago, Makoto Naegi had officially became a student of the 78th Class of Ultimate at Hope's Peak Academy, as the Ultimate Lucky Student. During this time, he had made some incredible memories.
Sure, the school certainly had some problems that it's prestige made people overlook, but he had made lifelong friends, despite everyone in his class being far more impressive than himself.
But now it was all over. He was nearing the end of his three year course and his last winter at the academy. He'd done his best to plan out his life from that point, preparing to leave the school and head out into the big world.
With so few months left in the school year, and with it being Boxing Day, Makoto was overcome with bittersweet nostalgia. He'd already done a quick scan of the school, running into many of his classmates, as well as underclassmen and upperclassmen alike. Aoi Asahina had invited him and Byakuya Togami to a late Christmas party. He'd had a hearty meal in the dining hall with Shuichi Saihara. He'd talked about his future with Tsumugi Shirogane. And now, he was just sitting by himself in the classroom, collecting his thoughts.
His life had changed so much over the past three years, he didn't know what or how he should feel. However, one thing he realized is that in his heart, he felt that something was missing...
And it wasn't until one of his classmates stepped into the room through the sliding door that he realized what it was.
The Ultimate Detective, and his fellow classmate at Hope's Peak, Kyoko Kirigiri arrived and immediately noticed him sitting down. Makoto was as surprised to see her as she was to see him.
"Oh! Kyoko! Hey!" he greeted her.
"Makoto?" she responded, "what are you doing here?"
"Well...not much to be honest...just...thinking about things," he smiled, "is something wrong?"
Makoto was one of the very few people, especially inside the school, that Kyoko was often honest with. She was usually very abrasive, and despite her willingness to participate, she was usually the quiet one of the conversation, never really chiming in with her opinion unless it mattered immensely. She was a woman with an air of mystery and many didn't understand her, but Makoto felt proud to be one of the few people she trusted to show her softer side. Kyoko grabbed a seat from a different desk and sat down opposite Makoto.
"Nothing, I just stopped by...But now that I'm here, I might as well sit with you, if you don't mind," she explained, "I've been so busy with work lately that it's hard to visit often."
"I see. You do seem pretty busy lately, Kyoko..." Makoto pondered, "You weren't here for Christmas. I thought...I honestly thought wouldn't see you until next year...If at all."
"Did that make you sad?" she smirked.
"Y-Yeah, very," Makoto blushed, "why, is that weird?"
"No...it's sweet of you." she chuckled, "to be honest, I thought that too. So what exactly were you thinking about before I arrived."
"You know what? I was pretty content with my time here, but today I felt like...something might have been missing," he said "my subconsciousness led me to the classroom and...now I know what it is. I think I was missing...You."
"Me...?" she frowned.
"I know how that sounds...And I know you're busy, but..." Makoto explained, "if there's something bothering you, you can tell me. I can help you. Maybe I won't be much help, but...I want to try."
Kyoko hesitated for a second, Makoto's words playing on her. After a brief, and honestly rather awkward, moment of silence, she responded.
"Then...tell me about yourself Makoto."
"Huh? Me? Why now?" he asked.
"I have told you stories about myself, so I think you should tell me yours now, right?" she asked.
"W-Well, I guess you're right..." Makoto stammered, "It's just...I'm so normal. I'm so normal that my story might be over real quick..."
Kyoko shook her head, "Your normal stories might be a nice change of pace for me. I don't really know how normal boys live..."
"Really?" Makoto inquired. She nodded.
"Ever since I was a child, I lived abroad. Afterward, I went to an all-girls middle school." Kyoko explained, "the only males I interacted with were other detectives or clients. Like Shuichi or my Grandfather. And as I've mentioned before, most of the interactions at my Grandfather's agency are...not so friendly."
Makoto recalled the story he had managed to coerce out of her before. Kyoko was the daughter of Hope's Peak's headmaster, Jin Kirigiri. He had been disowned by the family when Kyoko was young, and ever since, Kyoko had always been recognized as an outcast by those who worked for her Grandfather, Detective Fuhito.
"I see...Then my story might be new to you." he considered.
"And...I don't mind the story, as long as it's about you..." Kyoko smiled, "I should control my emotions better...and I shouldn't overstep my boundaries, but..."
With a smile like that, how could Makoto refuse?
They ended up chatting for a long while. Makoto gave Kyoko his backstory and then eventually started to update her on everything she had missed. He told her about Hina's get together as well, and Kyoko promised that she would go.
They also ended up talking about family. As to not cause her any discomfort, Makoto avoided talking about the headmaster for now. He started telling her about his own family and showed her some pictures.
"I see...so that girl I saw you with before was your sister." Kyoko considered, "you're her older brother...That's surprising."
"Yeah her name's Komaru. Why?" he asked.
"Given her height compared to yours, I thought she would be the older one." Kyoko stated bluntly. Makoto frowned.
"Was that an insult?"
"It wasn't intended to be one," Kyoko smirked, "also, I believe I saw a dog in one of the photos? Are you a pet person?"
"Oh, yeah, I got a picture of my dog to show to Mondo. Apparently he's really soft on them...D-Don't tell him I told you that though, he'll bend me in half..." Makoto chuckled awkwardly, "his name's Shinya. He's only a mutt but...he is pretty cute."
Makoto showed Kyoko a picture of Shinya, which she stared at for an unusually long time.
"He's very cute...!" she stated, her eyes sparkling and her face slightly blushing.
He's not the only one that looks cute... Makoto thought, but used every ounce of concentration to hold that thought in, praying Kyoko didn't read it on his face.
"He doesn't really like going out at this time of year because of how cold it is, but I recently got him this," he said, showing Kyoko another picture of Shinya, this time wearing a little doggy sweater "I got this out when I was shopping with my Mom."
"You go shopping with your mother?" Kyoko asked, "that's quite nice."
"Thanks...Usually when I admit that, people make fun of me..." Makoto giggled, "but she likes the company."
"He is very adorable," Kyoko smiled, "he's like a baby bear."
"Yeah well, you're pretty adorable too." Makoto smiled.
"Excuse me?" Kyoko flushed.
Crap...I said it...! Makoto cussed himself, oh well.
"I mean your reaction," he clarified, "I didn't think you'd be so emotionally attached to...well...Anything. Hehe..."
Despite Makoto's harmless comment, Kyoko bore a face like thunder. Realizing that he may have made a mistake, he hurried to apologize.
"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to offend you!" he exclaimed, "I-I was just really happy is all!"
"N-No no, it's ok!" Kyoko shook her head, "you just...caught me off guard is all."
"Huh? With...what?" he asked.
"Is it really that weird to imagine me getting emotionally attached to things?" she diverted her eyes, "I'm...emotionally attached to you, aren't I?"
"Oh...uh...thanks..." Makoto blushed. They sat in an awkward silence, unable to make eye contact with each other.
"I also...think I'm rather emotionally attached to our schoolmates too..." she added.
"Well...that's a good thing, right?" Makoto asked, "we're all very emotionally attached to you too Kyoko."
"I'm aware," Kyoko forced a smile, "you've always been so kind and good to me, and so have the others. Hina never leaves me out, Sayaka always likes talking to me, even someone like Leon treats me as a close friend...I can't just lie and say none of you have had an impact on me, but...that's my problem."
"I don't think it's a problem! We like you! And we like hanging out with you...me especially..." he said under his breath.
"What was that last part?" she asked.
"Nothing, just talking to myself," Makoto shook his head, "my point is that despite your...coldness, if I may be so blunt, you just really, genuinely care about people. To be honest, I wish there were more people in the world like you."
"Thank you...That's nice and all but..."
Kyoko trailed off. She averted her eyes and stared down at her gloved palm, which suddenly became a clenched fist.
"Dammit!" she snapped.
"What!? What's wrong!?" Makoto began to panic. Kyoko was upset that she had alarmed him so much, so she composed herself, and decided to let the beans spill.
"I don't want to leave Hope's Peak," she admitted, "I don't want to say goodbye to everyone. I mean, sure, with my detective work, it means that I haven't been able to spend as much time with everyone as I would have liked...but...even so..."
This was an unusual moment of true honesty from Kyoko. Makoto didn't dare interrupt it.
"I attended Hope's Peak Academy with the intention of cutting all ties with my father as the Headmaster...but...I kept delaying and delaying the moment...And I think it's because I realized that...this place is where I belong," she continued, "I don't want to go back to living as a detective as part of an agency where everyone outcasts me, and there's no telling if cutting ties with Jin Kirigiri will solve the problems I face! I don't want to go back there. I want to stay here with you. And Hina, and Sayaka...Sakura, Mukuro, Leon, Mondo, Taka, Chihiro, Toko, Celeste, Hifumi, Hiro...Hell, I even want to keep hearing Byakuya's sarcastic and biting comments every day...And I even still want to keep listening to Junko ramble on about things that I could never hope to understand...!"
Kyoko buried her face in her arms.
"You're right to believe that I'm not the type to get emotionally attached...I never intended to put down roots and gain such invaluable cohorts but...I did. And now I'm more connected to everyone here than I ever was back home...Even my own Grandfather."
"Kyoko..." Makoto was unsure of what to do. Afraid it might be the wrong move, and ready to retract at any moment should she not approve, he reached out and placed his hand on top of hers. He said no words, but just used his actions to let her know that he was with her, now and forever. Kyoko raised her eyes from her arms and looked up at Makoto, who smiled a warm smile back at her, warming the air around them despite the cold winter making the classroom frigid.
"Sorry, I ranted for a bit too long there...I'm done now..." she sat up straight again, but kept her arms where they were so Makoto could keep hold of her hand. Makoto shook his head.
"Don't apologize," he said, "you should never have to apologize for the way you feel. Ever!"
"I...ok..." Kyoko nodded.
"But hey, if it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way," Makoto confessed, "oftentimes I forget that you're very busy, and that by the time we graduate, I may never see you again. And...it makes me feel a lot of shit...But mostly, it makes me glad that I met you when I did!"
Kyoko's eyes widened with surprise at hearing these touching words. With her gaze making him feel awkward, Makoto released her hand and leant back in his chair, trying to be casual.
"I mean...it also makes me want to punch something, but...that's a tad less poetic."
"Well...I think it depends on the narrative and character," Kyoko smiled, "but...regardless...thank you. For listening...I mean..."
"I will always listen to you...now and forever," Makoto assured her, "you don't have to thank me."
"But...As busy as I might be in the future, I'll be sure to try my best to stay in contact with you and...let you know how I'm doing whatever chance I get," Kyoko smiled, "same goes for the others too. I can't make any promises, but if you want me to come to whatever get-togethers we have after graduation...I'll try my absolute best."
"It's going to feel so weird without you here," Makoto thought, "who am I gonna make fun of Byakuya with?"
"Well...we ALL make fun of Byakuya, don't we?" Kyoko asked.
"Yeah, ok, that was a dumb question," Makoto laughed, and so did she, "but...you get my point."
"Yeah..." she smiled and nodded, "I understand...It was fun Makoto."
Makoto's heart was warm from hearing her be so open, but...something still didn't feel right. Something was still missing. Though he knew it wouldn't always be the case, Makoto felt that if he let the chance go by now, he'd never get it again.
So he decided it was his turn to spill his guts.
"Kyoko?" he spoke up, his face completely flushed red. Kyoko looked at him in surprise.
"Wh-What's wrong?" she asked, "are you coming down with a fever? You look very hot."
"I definitely feel hot, but...it's not because I'm unwell...I think?"
"You think?" she parroted, "what are you talking abou-"
"I just...! I don't want us to go our separate ways!" Makoto cut her off, "because...Because I think I might be in love with you!"
Time seemed to freeze in this single moment. Kyoko's face was blank as she processed his words.
"...What...?" she gasped.
"I know how that sounds...And I know what it means for you...If you accepted my confession and I became your boyfriend, then your life would change in a way you'd never be able to deal with. I get that," Makoto had already confessed, so he refused to back down now. With confidence, he continued speaking, "but...despite how much I may alter your life's course, I really hope you'll allow me the privilege! I will take whatever responsibility is thrust upon me!
Kyoko was dumbstruck, but she gathered herself together and thought of a way to respond. Eventually, she did. She laughed and smiled at him warmly.
"If you're afraid of altering my life in a way that I couldn't comprehend, then I'm afraid you've already done that..." she spoke softly.
"Haha...I guess you're right...We were literally just talking about it," Makoto laughed awkwardly, "but I'm serious. I love you, and I want you to go out with me!"
"But...relationships like this are usually equivalent exchange...aren't they?" Kyoko blushed profusely, "I don't know if my work will even allow me to make time for you. Even if you gave me everything, there's little I could give you in return."
"I'm not doing this because I want a reward or something!" Makoto exclaimed, "you've long since realized this yourself, but a relationship between two people isn't just some obligation that can be retracted or reset at any different time. Especially not a romantic one! People who show up in your life don't just disappear and leave nothing behind. I won't, we won't, and you won't. And I'd like to keep my raindrop for as long as possible!"
Makoto cupped both of Kyoko's gloved hands.
"I don't need you to balance the books. I get that you would be busy, but I just want to be with you whenever I can. You don't have time? That's ok! I'll MAKE time! And I'll make you a life that you can enjoy! I'll give you anything and everything I can to make sure you live in a way that you're HAPPY with...So please...let me be a part of your future."
Kyoko was stunned. This kind of behavior from someone like Makoto, who was typically a wet blanket, was fascinating. Truth be told, Kyoko had felt a similar way towards him, but due to not being well attuned to her emotions early on in her academy days.
Kyoko responded as such. She got to her feet and walked around to the other side of the desk. She reached out a hand and pulled Makoto to his, making them level with each other.
"Are you absolutely sure?" Kyoko asked, "I'm hardly the best girlfriend material amongst our classmates, and I can be tiresome to deal with."
"Like I said already, I don't care if you can't always make time, or if you're tiresome," Makoto smiled, "I could even say that your astute nature to your work is something to be proud of."
This was all she needed to hear. Kyoko, still red in the face, breathed a huge sigh. She took a small step forward and rested her head on Makoto's shoulder, who wrapped his arm around her.
"Alright..." she responded quietly "you're mine...and I'm yours..."

You'd heard of the Toyohashi Kita Prom Murders, everyone in the area had. It had happened in 2017, not all too long ago, when six innocent students at the Toyohashi Kita all-male highschool were killed. All of the murders were committed in one night, the night of their senior prom.
Not a lot of people know the specifics, only that each victim was killed in rather brutal fashion as one of the most popular boys went insane over what is suspected to be...Well, not being voted Prom King. The boy had became delusional, believing everyone now worshipped him.
When the cops arrived, he threatened suicide, and ended up stabbing himself to avoid jail. That stab was fatal, and now people believe all seven of those who were killed have been bound to the now-abandoned Toyohashi Highschool building, living out their sorrowful days into eternity. Apparently, only one of the murderer's competition went out alive. No one knows his name.
Today, you venture inside the building. Past the weathered police tape, and step into the previously gleeful white building, teeming with school spirit. Nowadays, it's dirty and not many people venture in. But, as you step foot in for the first time, fresh footprints are noticeable in the dirt and dust of the floor. Do you trust your gut instinct...and follow them?
@morals-and-florals @floral-samurai @the-real-kokichi-ouma (any of your blogs work ^^) @theultimatemoralcompass @chaoticblogofmuses @the-friendly-entomologist @human-monokuma // or anyone else. be warned, this blog centers around themes of insanity and mental instability. descriptive gore is present occasionally, and the mystery that shrouds Toyohashi Kita is not a pleasant one at all. be aware, and if you are not in a place to play out this storyline, do not feel obligated to. for anyone curious, the characters are all ocs beside saihara and a few others. typically triggering characters such as iruma miu, ouma kokichi, etc, are not muses in this blog. i myself am not triggered by anyone in dangan rompa besides kaede akamatsu in the slightest manner, but i try to make everyone comfortable no matter how fucked up the story in my blog is. story short, be safe everyone. if you read all the way through this, thanks.

Big shoutout to my silly lil friends on the Persona 5 Giant/Tiny server for giving me the courage to upload these headcanons! If you like g/t I’d recommend joining :D the person who has the link is @andtheyreonfire AKA Waffle!😊
So I really liked the idea of Persona 5 G/T and I actually have a lot of headcanons for Danganronpa too! I’m gonna share the ones I have for V3 in this post as a change of pace from my art content.
(Also, none of this is canon to any story. I’m also not basing it off of canon besides their personalities so! Please keep this in mind💪)
🖤Shuichi Saihara - He could go both ways! If he was a tiny, he’d definitely be super respectful and quiet. Almost to a point where you’d get nervous if you couldn’t hear him and you’d think you accidentally stepped on him by mistake. If he was a giant, he’d take very good care of tinies. He’d even put them on his hat so they could stay with him.
🩷Kaede Akamatsu - She’d be the cutest tiny or the gentlest giant. She’s so lovable as a tiny that Shuichi constantly fawns over her whenever she does something. She has one of those mini pianos (like from Spongebob hehehe) that she plays whenever possible. As a giant, she’d protect any borrowers from whatever they needed. She’d cuddle with them too to make them feel better after a long day.
💚Rantaro Amami - He’s 100% a giant, no questions asked. He’s so friendly to tinies and he protects them from everything. If you sit on his head, his hair smells like coconut or strawberry shampoo. He’ll cook lunch and feed you by hand until you’re full. His voice is loud and deep, but it’s not scary; rather, it’s very comforting. He’s super gentle when handling you, and he seems like the type to slip you into his pocket to keep you warm. I have so much to talk about regarding giant Rantaro pls someone ask PLEASE /J
💜Kokichi Oma - A very mischievous and chaotic tiny for sure. There’s an assignment due tomorrow? You’ll wake up to find mini handprints all over your paper. You’re asleep? He’ll take the opportunity to draw on your face. Little things here and there will “vanish”. If you pick him up by the back of his shirt he’ll taunt you as you reprimand him.
🩵Tsumugi Shirogane - Could go either way! I could see her absolutely fangirling over tinies and going, “you must be a borrower like in The Secret World of Arietty!” She ADORES tinies and sews little clothes for them to wear. If she was a tiny herself, she’d probably go into dollhouses and borrow the clothes from them. Maybe she’d even modify them for herself :))
🩶Kirumi Tojo - She’d probably be either or, it really depends. She’d tidy up your room as a tiny and leave lil notes around, specifying exactly what it was she cleaned. She’d help you cook like Remy from Ratatouille by sitting on your head. If she was a giant, she’d take such good care of tinies. She’d make them feel comfortable for sure.
🧡Korekiyo Shinguji - I can’t really see him as anything other than tiny. He’ll be reading books in his lab. He’d admire his classmates from afar, envious of humanity but still liking to see their behavior. He likes to sneak up on people and listen to them to continue his research. He’s on the dining room table and salt is nearby? He’ll conduct a mini seance and scare the living daylights out of Kaito.
💖Miu Iruma - She’s definitely a tiny herself. She borrows dozens of scrap metal parts and objects to create her gadgets. Kiibo holds her up to the others so she can present her latest ideas. She flies around on her lil hovercraft around campus.
💛Angie Yonaga - Tiny lil painter in your pocket kinda person. She’ll doodle all over your hand during class for sure. She loves leaving little handprints on your papers too.
❤️Maki Harukawa - A very angry tiny with all this rage, but she can’t even reach where she’s trying to get to. She’s super skilled at parkour and navigating the giant world. She’s borrowed countless weapons like toothpicks and staples to use against others. If you pick her up, she’ll try to escape any way she can. She’ll retreat to her lil borrower home at night and go out searching for things in the morning.
💙Ryoma Hoshi - Not gonna lie, I don’t really have much for Ryoma, but I feel like he’d be a tiny. He could probably ride around on his cat across campus (granted he has the cat in the first place LMAO)
🤎Gonta Gokuhara - Pretty obvious, but definitely a giant. He’s got plenty of experience with bugs and other forest creatures to know how to properly handle tinies.
🤍Kiibo - He’d be a super awkward giant for sure, but in the cutest way possible. He’s super careful with them and always does his best to make sure tinies are ok.
💜Kaito Momota - Definitely giant, he has the energy of one. He’ll find Maki and Shuichi and take them to do training with him in his room on the desk. He often forgets to be careful with tinies and tends to grab them roughly, though he always apologizes.
💚Tenko Chabashira - A giant for sure, she loves tinies/borrowers. She’s super fond of female borrowers and has little rest stations set up in her room for them. She especially adores Himiko and gushes over her any chance she gets because of how cute she is.
❤️Himiko Yumeno - She’s probably a tiny. She’ll do little magic tricks and everyone will love them. She’s got her own custom deck of miniature cards and her little staff was created from a toothpick.
And that’s all! If people want, maybe I’ll make more :D

When the RIDICULOUSLY femboyi and adorable Shuichi saihara got casted into "Magical starlight : Kaede akamatsu and the mystery of love" as the main bad guy’s cute henchmen, did he expected his life to turn out as he did~? I mean nowadays he is maried and the trophy hubby to the absurdly thicc famous star, the well known Kaede akamatsu~, but it would be fun to know how he actually ended in this paradise of a situation~
(The lenght, detail, stories and all is up to you friend, also you’re amazing.)
(Thank you @cowedeacumootsu for the pics and the ask. Also YOU'RE amazing <3)
Shuichi was quite nervous, but also excited. Being a detective had never come naturally, but it had come easily, at least. He'd spent his whole life steeped in that world. But acting?
He'd never even thought of it. Not even in his wildest dreams. Never held an interest in it.
But while he'd been on a forced vacation due to his uncle needing to close his agency for a few weeks, he'd stumbled across a poster.
'Magical Starlight: Kaede Akamatsu and The Mystery Of Love'
It was some sort of magical girl kids show, Shuichi thought. He'd heard of it in passing, caught an advert for it on tv once or twice.
But what caught his eye was the line at the bottom of the poster.
'Open auditions! Amateurs are welcome!'
Shuichi didn't know what possessed him to note down the number. Or call the casting director. Or show up and actually try. Or even worse, what had possessed the casting crew to actually call him back.
But here he was. Dressed in what could only be very charitably called a costume.
Tumblr media
He couldn't believe he would be wearing this on live television, much less in a kids' show!
He was still shuffling in place in the changing room, debating the merits of trying to flee when she knocked on the door, making his back shoot up straight.
"Shu-chan~ Are you done changing?" A melodious voice sounded through the door, and Shuichi gulped.
"Y-Yeah…" He found himself answering, and the moment he did, the door was open, letting his co-star in, and making Shuichi blush like a tomato, seeing her in her own costume.
Tumblr media
The thicc-as-oatmeal woman was practically spilling out the edges of her tiny magical girl costume. Shuichi's hands trembled slightly as Miss Akamatsu entered the room, her every step making mounds of flesh jiggle temptingly.
She smiled widely when she laid eyes on him, making him shuffle in place, embarrassed. "You look outright delicious, Shu-chan!" She said happily, the slightest hint of a blush coloring her cheeks.
Shuichi choked on his breath as Miss Akamatsu stepped closer and closer to him, making him look up at her. The older woman had at least half a foot on him, and that was before she put on her heels.
"Th-Thanks?" He stuttered, a hand coming up to the brim of his nonexistent hat, to grasp only air and leaving him to simply look down to the ground.
It was hard to not be intimidated when he was in the presence of the Kaede Akamatsu. The woman seemed blessed by the very gods to succeed in whatever she tried her hand at. She used to be a world-renowned pianist, before becoming an acclaimed actress, not to mention her good looks and shining personality.
Miss Akamatsu was simply born to be a star, unlike shy and gloomy Shuichi. But that was why they were here, wasn't it?
"Stop looking so down, Shu-chan~" Miss Akamatsu sing-sang, leaning down to his level and making Shuichi blush even harder at the view of her cleavage she offered.
He forced his eyes to look up at her, not directly into her eyes of course, lest he loses his voice once more. "S-Sorry, Miss Akamatsu." He apologized.
The blonde pouted. "'Miss Akamatsu'? I'm not that old, you know? Call me Kaede~" She demanded.
Shuichi bashfully nodded. "S-Sure." He said, pointedly not actually using her name, and making the blonde pout even harder.
He jumped when her delicate hand landed on his shoulder, her perfectly manicured hand teasing his barely-covered skin and giving him goosebumps.
"You'd think someone would show more gratitude when I graciously offer my precious time to help them learn…" she mumbled, making Shuichi's face pale.
"I-I am grateful!" He insisted, his hands coming up in front of his chest as if to surrender. But he truly was.
Shuichi might've passed the audition, but it was quite clear that he was lagging behind the rest of the crew, justifiably so.
And that was when Miss Akamatsu approached him and offered to help him learn his lines and practice with her.
"If it weren't for your help, I probably wouldn't stand a chance… Of course, I'm grateful." Shuichi ended up mumbling, a blush dusting his cheeks as he stared at the tip of his boots.
He heard Miss Akamatsu hum in the back of her throat, before her hand grabbed hold of his chin in her fingers, making Shuichi jump, eyes wide in bewilderment. She slowly forced him to look up at her, the silky smooth skin of her fingers tickling Shuichi as she did.
Shuichi's eyes were caught in the blonde's as she stared down at him, making his heart beat against his ribcage faster and faster.
"So? What do we say?" Miss Akamatsu asked leadingly, making Shuichi's mouth dry out.
"Th-Thank you-"
"'Thank you' who?"
Shuichi was drowning in twin pools of blue. "Thank you, Kaede…" he said, feeling out of breath and making Kaede giggle.
Her hand patted the top of his head, making him blush once again. "Was that so hard, Shu-chan?" She said, obviously pleased with herself, before spinning on her heel and making the detective blink as eye contact was finally broken. “Now come on! We haven’t got all night~”
As she spoke, she left Shuichi’s changing room, leaving him blinking and staring stupidly at his closed door. The detective let out a shuddering breath, and adjusted his suddenly too-tight bottom, though thankfully, they didn’t let anything appear through them, which honestly surprised him.
Pleasantly so, of course. The last thing he wanted was for Miss- for Kaede to think he was some kind of pervert.
He breathed in deep, trying to calm his nerves, and stepped out, following Kaede on the empty set.
The studio was empty, the last employee having long since left for the night, but Kaede had somehow managed to get them permission to use the studio for Shuichi to practice. And in the middle of the half-constructed throne room set, her legs slightly spread and her hands on her hips, her shoulders squared and her chest thrust out, Kaede stood, smiling at him.
Shuichi blushed as he couldn’t stop himself from ogling her, but if Kaede noticed, she made no mention of it. “Are you ready to begin, Shu-chan?” She asked instead as Shuichi stepped closer, though he stopped maybe half-a-dozen steps away, where the script wanted him to be. In front of the imposing throne, between it and Kaede.
He took in a shaky breath, before nodding with as much certainty as he could muster, which wasn’t all that much.
Kaede licked her lips in response. “Then begin whenever you’re ready, cutie~”
Shuichi shivered, his blush redoubling in intensity. He was glad his mask was covering his face right now. But he tried to chase the fantasies Kaede kept inspiring in him, and closed his eyes, focusing on his character.
While he was new at acting, memorizing his lines was hardly a challenge for the detective.
He gave Kaede his best frown, and posed dramatically, ignoring the embarrassment the pose provoked in him. “S-So you’ve come, Kaede!” He declared with a voice that was intended to be confident. Though he powered through. “If you think that I’ll allow you to reach the Heart of Hate without a fight, then you’re dead wrong!”
Kaede chuckled behind a raised hand, making Shuichi falter. “Um-”
But before he could point out her mistake(?), she pointed at him dramatically. “It is you who is dead wrong, Shu-chan!” That wasn’t his name in the script!? Was Kaede improvising!? “I’m here for something much more important than that!” She declared, taking a step forward and making Shuichi step back in response.
His mouth worked soundlessly for a moment, trying to come up with something to say. “I-Is that so?” He questioned, torn between asking Kaede for an explanation and simply going with the flow of the experienced actress. “A-And, what is that?”
Kaede smiled even wider as she continued to walk toward a retreating Shuichi. Or at least he had been before he bumped into the throne. And before he could readjust his course, Kaede closed those few final meters between the two. Her arms fell on the armrests on either side of him, trapping him between her and the seat, leering down at him.
“Isn’t it obvious?” She asked, a hungry gleam in her eyes that made Shuichi gulp.
“Love~”
“OOOOOOHHH~” Shu-chan howled like an animal, his hips flush against Kaede’s chest, cumming once more against her softness.
“Fufufu~” Kaede sultrily chuckled. Shuichi was bent over, leaning over the throne’s seat, his musky cock trapped beneath him in her large cleavage. She tightened it like a vice with her elbows, and held onto Shuichi’s hips with her hands, not allowing him the range to actually pull his cock out.
Shui-chan had been cute before, but like this, with his cute butt in her face and his balls twitching as she milked him, he was positively delicious~
“Go on, Shu-chan~ You can shoot one more for me, can’t you?” Kaede teased the poor boy, making him whine, but the moment she tightened the grip her chest had around his cock, it transformed into a moan, and his hips began bouncing once more, his balls clapping against the top of her chest.
She licked her lips, before catching one of them in her mouth, moaning at its salty taste, and making Shu-chan cry out, and redouble his efforts at cumming. She thoroughly bathed it in her saliva, savoring its musky taste.
Honestly, such a dangerous cock shouldn’t be attached to such a cute boi~ No doubt any other woman would’ve had her brain melting out of her pussy from the smell alone, but Kaede wasn’t just anyone.
She’d teach this naughty cock just who was top dog.
It didn’t take long for her to feel the nut twitch energetically on her tongue as Shuichi flooded her tits with yet another cumshot. They hadn’t lost any of their volume or thickness, even after three other just-as-voluminous ejaculations.
Kaede would have to pull out the big guns. Not that it would be a big sacrifice on her part~
She let go of Shu-chan’s hips just as he pulled back, surprising him and freeing his length unexpectedly, and used the little space he’d left to sneak around him, dropping herself on the throne in front of him.
She could see the haze of pleasure in his eyes drowning out all of his other thoughts, and chuckled once more. Adorable~
He whined at the lost pleasure and almost immediately began trying to climb her and resume his mindless thrusting, but Kaede’s hand on his chest was enough to stop him. He stared up at her with his eyes full of begging, at least until Kaede spread her legs, revealing her drenched pussy to him.
The effect was immediate. Shu-chan's pleasure-drunk brain suddenly realized that, more than cum, he could breed~ And it didn't wait a moment to do exactly that, hurriedly pulling Kaede's sticky panties to the side, before plunging his thick cock inside of her depths, making her moan throatily.
His wild thrusting became even wilder as he battered her insides, desperate to fill her up with his seed, to mark her as his forevermore. Of course, Kaede's tight love tunnel was far from helping him calm down. His cock was choked by her warm wetness, her muscles spasming around him as he pulled her first orgasm of the night from her.
Kaede smiled sultrily as she observed Shu-chan's pleasure-distorted face from behind her fluttering eyes. His tongue was hanging from his mouth like a wild dog's, and, well, she simply couldn't resist that invitation.
She leaned down to meet him, and quickly stole his lips and kissed him hungrily, wrestling his tongue into submission, for while Shuichi might have the energy and wildness of a beast, Kaede knew how to tame it with ease, and forced him to dance to her tune as she stared into his rolling eyes.
She broke the kiss for a moment, sending one of her hands to his ass, and grabbing a handful of his soft cheek, encouraging him to go even faster, even harder, before forcing him to swallow her next moan.
She bit his lip unexpectedly, tugging at it slightly and making Shu-chan gasp.
"You're mine." She growled, her teeth working his lip over.
"Your body's mine. Your heart's mine. Your cum's mine~ and I want it! Give it to me! Cum!" Kaede demanded, meeting each of Shu-chan's thrusts with her own, and making the boy cry out in pleasure as she did.
And eventually, Shu-chan's resolve broke, as he emptied his balls into her, making Kaede gasp under him as her belly was filled with his warm seed, again and again, until the excess poured out from around his cock.
Shu-chan's body fell atop Kaede's as his strength left him, melting into her as his cock throbbed inside of her.
"Yours. Yours yours yours yours-" He was mumbling under his breath and making Kaede's own heart melt.
"What a good boi you are, Shu-chan~" She praised, squeezing him against her as she did, and making Shu-chan moan once more, though he didn't so much as twitch a muscle.
He was tired it seemed~ Well, Kaede would just have to make sure he slept comfortably, wouldn't she? And, well…
She'd deal with the mess in the morning. Or maybe she'd just steal Shu-chan away to her home and deal with the director's complaints the day afterward, or even the day after that.
She wouldn't allow Shu-chan to leave until he'd satisfied her, or maybe not even then.
She could use a cute little hubby after all~

Various HCs of Sorbet because now look! They match! :D.
38 years old, and exactly 5"8 in size. The oldest one among the guys.
The other one who lives by the motto of "can't be socially awkward if you don't socialize". This one's ADHD, and with some manifestation of anxiety issues, I feel.
His Stand is named Van Halen (or Von Heaven). This one's basically Toga's Quirk Transform, but instead of blood, it can be any kind of bodily thingy like flesh, hair, breath, clothing in rare circumstances, or even fingerprints... as long as it comes into contact with his tongue. He's been experimenting with it even before he was initiated into Passione, growing accustomed to the taste of a human. Despite his violent fantasies clashing with his usual attitude, there lies an infamous story of when he supposedly ripped another gangster's throat out with his teeth.
Adding on to this, he's actually pretty sadistic, but keeps this nicely under wraps with his fake-smooth demeanor. To make a long story short, even that unnerves him.
Rather clingy towards Gelato, and often has him lounging on him for the weight. Apparently he bit the last person who tried it that wasn't it.
Never challenge him to a game (board, video, sports) if you intend to win. He Will beat your ass.
Classically trained in opera singing, and thus the best singer among the group. He doesn't, however, sing to anyone outside the group. He can pull off a high variety of voices, but his actual voice is rather comically light (like a slightly deeper version of Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist), feeding into an insecurity, which is why he doesn't sing nor speak often.
Obsessed with maintaining his "stability", fueling his natural greed (and anxiety), which lead him to make the decision to look into Diavolo first.
Afraid of things relating to doctors in general.
His sweet tooth is probably one of the strongest forces in the universe. Typically, if one finds either a candy wrapper or cookie pack in a room, he is soon to show up.
Besides Nero, he also gets along very well with Illuso.
His reservation seems to stem from the very pit of his past; constantly on the move from mobsters and being passed along relatives, and was reportedly suppressing his emotions from paranoia and fear since he was about 7.
His spritework shall be... either Shuichi Saihara or Kyoko Kirigiri.

So you do a whole lot of cool AU stuff, and have a good amount of variations of Saiouma. Is there any AU that's your favorite, or any interesting ones you think sound cool but haven't explored yet? Just curious!
ohh anon... the sheer quantity of AUs me and my v3pilled friends have rotated. something about saiou is just extremely AUable.
it's only sort of AU, but i like thinking about despair disease for v3! it's usually played light-hearted with ouma spilling his feelings for saihara, but i like 'truth serum' fics that are about how fucked up and scary it is to lose agency over one's secrets. for someone as controlled as ouma, it's a total nightmare situation...! saihara would help ouma without seizing the opportunity to question him, because saihara's past means he understands how terrifying the process of telling the truth is. that's the fic i started writing, but don't think i'll finish, alas... a truth disease story about understanding each other in spite of monokuma forcing a trope, rather than because of it ✨
for an actual AU: i recently read the summer hikaru died and not to make everything saiou (bc that manga is an INCREDIBLE piece of romantic horror storytelling and i highly recommend it!!) but the same premise would be sooo fun with saiou. 'ouma' as an entity that's quite literally a living lie...! struggling with which feelings are truth and lies! questions about personhood!! knife romance!!! yahoo

“You like it?” Kokichi grinned, pointing around the tear-shape on his cheek, the yellow swish of paint above his brow and the plus sign over his left eye. His nose was also coloured red. It looked impressive. “One did the face paint! Everyone’s getting ready now!”
“Ah- Shhh!” Finger to his lips, Saihara quickly quieted him down, “My grandma’s just in the other room… But it looks cool.” He said softly. Kokichi brightened up at that.

Adding onto your recent meta about the Pregames, one line stuck out to me. Where you said for the pregames that are supposed to be 'real people' they sure feel a lot more like caricatures. I'm really glad you brought up this point, especially considering the Pregames are supposed to represent the Danganronpa fandom, which is us. I feel like the understand the Pregames better, you need to world-build a little bit as to what their 'outside world' is like. It's heavily dubious what Tsumugi said about the outside world being peaceful and non-violet. With how people people were willing to sign away their lives so easily, the pregames feel more like su//c//dal teens that need a fuck ton of therapy. Many people in the 'real' DR fandom (at least from whom I met) have many personal issues that cripple their mental health and make them turn to fiction as a escape from their harsh life. I mean.........who hasn't thought "I wish I could live in that fictional world?" before?
The Pregames are really supposed to represent us, the Danganronpa fandom. So it actually makes me greatly concerned that people would 'self-project' the 'accepted fanon' of Pregame Shuichi being a sadistic yandere, Pregame Kaede being a nihilistic bully, Pregame Kokichi being a uwu femboy cinnamon bun, etc. It really does come to show that people would put shipping characters into a trope rather than using these pregames as their self-projection canvases
And while everyone in the Danganronpa fandom isn't the same, no version of the pregames have to be either. There's many pregame stories on Ao3, which has probably influenced and encouraged the misconceptualizing of the pregames. I understand that none of them have a canon personality, and since Ingame Saimatsu and Saiouma can never happen canonically, people will turn to the pregame AU to make it happen the way they want it. Then again, it is totally okay to write whatever an author wants, but it does take away good character discussion when the Pregames are boiled down to *insert name's* love intersted
Anyways, sorry for rambling. But yeah, here is my two cents about your essay. Great thoughts and I appreciated reading that very much as a pregame V3 enthusiast
I'm so sorry but you sent this to the wrong person SNGJFDNSZFDJVFGNJDNVJS
@hello-kitty-shuichi-saihara This is for you
But ya I do agree that the pregame characters are supposed to represent us. And deciding the characters' personalities based on tropes and shipping only is really funny when you can just Go Replay The Prologue and see the character is Nothing Like That Trope
Like, in the prologue Kokichi asks reasonable questions very clearly which is very different from uwu stuttering "pwease dont huwt me" fanon pregame Kokichi (Who probably would've been silent tbh). Kaede has a bit of a temper (and so does ingame Kaede) but is still nice to people around her (Shuichi is the obvious one) which. Y'know, if she was the popular bully girl like in fanon she probably would've insulted absolutely everyone without hesitation right? But she doesn't. Yandere Shuichi (Like, unironically) straight up squicks me? Because the way I see it, people decided he's like that because of his audition tape. Like, good job guys, you took a guy ranting about his kinda fucked up interest and decided he's a homicidal maniac who obsesses over Danganronpa and his uwu soft boyfwiend who needs pwotection at all costs. I'm flabbergasted that people don't realize what picture they're painting of themselves, since they're also Danganronpa fans, but aside from that... As someone who also rants abt their interests like that it just. I hate it DJKSANKJDSNFANFDJS
These characters are a lot more similar to their ingame selves than people give them credit for haha

Thank you for replying, I'll try rewriting the request so it fits-
Can I request a Shuichi x Kokichi's friend!reader? They grew up together, and have the same Ultimate (if that's ok), but reader acts a bit differently from Kokichi, which made Shuichi interested. Reader had the same joyful energy but doesn't lie as much as Kokichi does
One shot or in headcanons about them (reader and Shuichi)
If there's anything else I should change let me know!
shuichi saihara x kokichi's friend!reader >> preferences ! > > [ mainly romantic] > > [slight angst]
BONUS + ‘ ultimate supreme leader ’ reader + specific preferences for killing game

───── ✩ SHUICHI
🗯️ ❭ ❭  you met kokichi a long time ago, just a few years after you were born. the connection ignited so quickly, almost as if it were fate. almost as if he was the soul that was meant to guide, help, and teach you. almost as if he was the soul that was meant to be a part of your struggles. as you two grew up together, he influenced you in some ways that would be a part of your identity, but never enough to have the same reputations.
❕  when shuichi figured out that you and kokichi were closer than he realized at first, he had mixed emotions about this fact. the mixed emotions were fueled by some of his bitter views towards kokichi. the clear effect of kokichi’s influence on you was more clear to him now, yet not clear enough to be informed of the exact lengths of this influence.
❕  he can’t deny the interest that sparked as he witnessed your behavior. people were somewhat clouded by the fact that you’re just a kokichi, but tamer and less of an annoyance when it comes to lies.
❕  he feels pulled in by your reputation. he feels an urge to push himself away from you, due to the thoughts that some things would fail, such as having a conversation with you or attempting to see you from a drastically different light. yet in the end of the day, he also felt more intrigued to discover the depths of you, and unravel the thoughts that blinded everyone.
❕  he feels as if he’s more likely to walk away from a conversation feeling less annoyed, and less puzzled by a bunch of lies being thrown at him that he’ll need to pick apart to find the truth, due to you lying less. he finds it even more interesting that you lie less, he wonders what other traits you picked up from kokichi that you express to a lesser extent than him?
❕  shuichi giving you a gift, or suggesting a place for you two to hang out, is always fun. though, one of the most interesting parts is the way you reveal your opinions on some gifts and suggestions. either you share about how your opinion contrasts or compares with kokichi’s thoughts on those things, or shuichi remembers what kokichi’s opinion on those things were. in the rarer moments, you tell shuichi about how kokichi influenced your opinion on some places or gifts.
❕  you’re a bit more blatant when it comes to opening up more than kokichi. you tell shuichi about the stories you’ve been told, the experiences you lived through, and the opinions you’ve gathered. it warms the both of you, and brings you two closer.
❕  with you telling some stories, it’s incredibly expected that you’ll talk about kokichi. going to you and hearing you, shuichi realizes he knows more about kokichi and his background. eventually, you help shuichi have a more-positive opinion towards kokichi, and help him realize some of kokichi’s traits that he hadn’t had a total grasp on before.
❕  expect you two rambling about a bunch of stuff. shuichi can get insecure about rambling or overthinking about his observances and interests, yet most times you don’t mind it. overthinking, ranting, rambling, are one of the top things that strengthens the bond. he loves how passionate you can be about the things you dislike or like, and your energy as you speak.
❕  sometimes he’ll make a light-hearted joke or comment about how joyful or hyper your energy is. sometimes, he does feel a tad overwhelmed by your energy, or slightly intimidated, though that doesn’t mean that he doesn't find your energy cute. to an extent, he does find your energy admirable. the way you can bring liveliness to others and to him, the way you can bring the life out of him that he forgets about, is something so compelling about you.
❕  shuichi does get slight insecurities about the fact that he can’t always match up with your energy, even when your energy can make him secure at times. in his eyes, he isn’t so interesting, joyful, and even can be a debbie downer at times. of course, this motivates you to tell him the truth about your opinions on his energy and him as a person.
❕  to you, he’s a bit of a refresher from all the people you attract (kokichi and D.I.C.E) and you feel so secure with him, he’s more grounded, so gentle and so observant. he can be so polite, yet he knows when things are too much and he tries to set boundaries. you love he has his unpredictable moments; how he expresses sass and heat towards someone being a bother (like miu), yet he turns soft a couple minutes later.
❕  sometimes he feels so happy by your presence, he just can’t help and blush. if you throw in a flirty comment (which sometimes you do), he’ll become a total blush and it reminds him about how your unpredictability can be a blessing and a curse.
❕  you help him see things in a positive light, or see the positive side of things. sometimes he helps you realize the cons and negatives of things. you totally help him have tolerance towards certain things (such as kokichi) and you help him associate some things he’s either neutral about, things he tolerate, or even things he dislikes with positivity (like specific movies, books, etc.), due to your joyful nature and/or opinions.
— IN GAME, things would get really tense the more kokichi’s lies and presence affect everyone. there’s kokichi being way more distant from you while also lashing out at you sometimes, as an attempt to keep you away from being involved in his plans and for you to not get the heavy burden of having kokichi’s exact reputation by being so close to him. there’s people avoiding you, dismissing you, having less patience with you, or even lashing out at times, because of your reputation being more damaged as the game goes on, especially when kokichi becomes cryptic or his lies become more stressful and/or harmful.
and then there’s shuichi, who’s struggling with others being negative towards you, struggling to be close to you around others, and struggling with not feeling somewhat tense with you due to kokichi’s actions. the internal conflict just brings more headaches, but he tries to set them aside because he knows you’re struggling and wants to bring comfort into your life.
— IN GAME, since you possess kokichi’s leadership skills to an extent, you’ll act as a guide for shuichi, knowing that people look up to him. in fact, the longer you survive, the more likely shuichi will accept you as someone being a "co-leader" of sorts, and someone that others should look up to as well, which motivates some people to look up to you to an extent.
you two give each other life in different ways. you two give security to each other in different ways. there’s so many things you two do differently, yet you two always result in feeling safe with each other.
