Why do you Simba was so fit and strong as an adult even though he never learned how to hunt and was just eating bugs all the time?

He isn't fit because of his way of living, but because he has his youth still. Mufasa and Sarabi are pretty chunky, yet their son is a tiny boy in comparison. Simba should've won the genetic lottery with those two as his parents.

He isn't that strong. He got throat-owned by a single hyena, shameful for an adult lion, and his only other opponent in the movie was Scar, a skinny middle-aged man. He still gets slammed by Nala, a lightweight female born from a lightweight mother. That he isn't much taller or heavier than her is a sign this man hasn't reached his full potential, for which his lazy life and bad diet are to blame, I'd say.
