Sorry I am in ranting mood today, bear with me besties.

I just think this "go back to CDs" thing is just... nostalgia. We all know it is not gonna happen. The DVD will also not come back.

Also remember what huge amounts of waste those things were, like literal waste, ecologically. All those plastic covers.

What could happen is that some cool people maybe from my or the younger generation set up a good streaming alternative.

But to set up a big thing like that and keep it running in an ethical way? Yeah I'll keep waiting.

See the words "his teeth are not soft" Force me to reassess how I imagined him. Like I thought he was just a mesh suit but the teeth being hard suggests bone, which suggests a skeletal structure. Then you're like how does he talk, does he a voice box? That requires you know flesh. Then it's like wait why does he need teeth, is it for killing or for grinding up food to eat. Then it's like if he does eat does he have a digestive track?

After looking over UnlovelyFrankenstein's oeuvre (and adding one of the T-shirts to my cart, NGL), a thought occurred to me that I haven't really dug into before: did Arthur Stuart even listen to or know anything about Curt Wild before Brian took him under his wing and brought him into the spotlight?

Curt may have gotten off the ground a bit earlier than Brian, as we see from the T.V. Eye scene. But the fame/infamy he experienced around that time was probably mostly through a niche audience in America, especially if Iggy Pop was meant to be a blueprint for Curt's career. Not among glam rock fans like Arthur in England.

Furthermore, we don't get much from Arthur's perspective to indicate that he discovered Curt Wild's music at all until later in the movie. The record shop flashback scene centers on Brian, and it's only when we get to the climactic scene underscored by Baby's On Fire that Arthur seems to be introduced to Curt, as a few grainy black-and-white photos in a newspaper. Granted, they're photos that get Arthur hot and bothered and ultimately contribute to him leaving home for good, but they're still just images on a page.

His introduction to Curt as a musician, performer, and a person of his own really seems to take place at the Death of Glitter concert, which leads me to think that up until then, the only exposure he's had to Curt is through the filter of Brian and his musical career. Which I find kind of fitting and heartbreaking all at once. Imagine knowing Curt just as Brian's other half - "Tracy and Hepburn for the 70s" as Mandy so wryly phrases it - seeing Brian "shot" at Arthur's first and only Maxwell Demon concert, and then being hit over the head by Gimme Danger. No wonder Arthur fell for Curt.

I guess a question that still lingers for me is, did he become a fan of Curt Wild and the Rats after that night and start listening to their records? Or was he just done with the whole scene after the Brian Slade fall-out? I'm sure there's a fic out there exploring this but I haven't found it yet.

This is from June but now's as good a time as any to post! (also since this is Mad Love it's established that the reader is female, hence the use of she/her pronouns)

Normally, you're super happy that your relationship with Michael allows you to be your own person, and vice versa. Neither of you are too clingy, thankfully; you don't think you'd be able to handle Michael if that were the case. But sometimes, clinginess is needed.

Like when you're feeling horny but your husband is too busy playing FIFA with his friends to pay any attention to you.

You stomp your foot when Michael refuses to look away from the screen for you calling his name, feeling like you've earned the right to be a little childish. A girl has needs, after all!

"Michael!" you whine again, pulling on his shoulder. God, what you wouldn't give for your super hot husband to touch you right now.

Michael finally removes his headphones and glances over at you like he just realized you're here. "What is it?"

You pout exaggeratedly and hold your hand out to him. "Take me to bed, Michael?"

Instead of tossing his controller to the side and sweeping you off your feet like you had hoped, he glances helplessly between you and the screen. "It's best three-of-five though, and we're tied at one game each..."

Your mouth drops. "You're going to play a video game instead of fucking your wife?"

You're normally happy that he finally has friends of his own, friends who he wants to spend time and interact with. But, as previously established, this is not a normal situation.

He stammers. "I—um—well—for now?"

"I can't even believe this! When have you ever turned down sex?" Really, the answer is never.

"Look, just let me finish this, and then I swear I'll go down on you 'til you cum at least three times, okay?"

The promise is uncharacteristically vulgar for Michael, and it does nothing to quell the heat between your legs. Rather, it fans it into flames, and you grip onto him just a bit harder to stay upright.

"Promise?" you ask seriously.

"Pinky promise."

He holds out a pinky for you to hook yours around, attention already back on the new game that's just started, and you sigh before completing it. Fine. You can wait. Although...

"Wait, where are you going?" Michael asks as you head to the stairs.

"To get started without you."

"What?" His voice is so strangled that you almost laugh.

"Better win those last two games quickly!" you call behind you, letting the bedroom door slam loudly.

He's got his head buried between your thighs in a cool fifteen minutes.
